			Guiding Light Update

				for

			Tuesday, December 6

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(A Baroque update)

Frank and Eleni at the diner:

Frank is looking for Detective Cutter. He's worried about David, but
he can't find the man anywhere. Nadine walks in the door, looking exhausted.
They are thrilled to see her, and look around for the Buzzer. Nadine informs
them that he isn't with her. They look at her, and she says it's a "long
story".

Bridget and Dylan walking in the woods:

Dylan is being his usual charming self. He yells a little, and Bridget
says "Okay, I understand." "No, you don't," Dylan says graciously.

David and Gabriella:

David is tied to the ceiling. That is, he is tied to a hook which is
attached to the ceiling. Bon Jovi and a cohort mug drag Gabriella in the
room, and tie her up with David. Gabriella is terrified and apologizes to
David. He seems pretty calm. He's "open to suggestions" on ways to get out.

Ross and Blake at the Cooper PI Agency:

[They were today's comedy troupe, so don't expect too much here.]
Blake says that Ross will be her "kept man" from now on. "I don't come cheap,
honey". Ross takes a cheap shot at Frank's burgeoning business. He doesn't
think they have enough business to keep him in the situation he has grown
accustomed to. They argue about who knows more about human nature: lawyers
or PIs (to wit Ross or Blake). Blake says she knows how to settle it once
and for all.

Diner:

Nadine tells Frank and Eleni that "Buzz is a free spirit, he'll be
back". She says that they weren't fighting, and that they "had a wonderful
day". Cutter comes in at that moment and Eleni shoos Frank off to him. Then
she wants Nadine to spill it. She does. Nadine says now Buzz will be with
Jenna and he'll find out the rest. "What rest?"

Vanessa and Jenna:

Jenna isn't looking too great. Vanessa insists that she sit down and
relax. She tells her a few things that she has to do and a few she has to not
do during her third trimester. In particular, "don't get stressed". "In that
case, you're not going to believe what I just did."

Blake and Ross:

Ross is ready for the game. He is supremely confident in himself. Blake
says they will play a role-playing game. He will be the detective and she will
play the part of the mysterious stranger. We fade to a film noir scene.

The camera focuses on Ross' hand, holding a cigarette. We pan out and
find he is wearing a cheap hat, and his feet are up on the desk. We see Blake's
silhouette outside the door. "I didn't hear you knock." "I bet you say that
to all the girls." [???] She saunters in, wearing a trenchcoat.
They talk turkey. He says something
about a "beautiful dame" who puts bourbon behind her ears (which she has just
finished doing) and will double his fee (which she says she will do for whatever
job she has in mind). She leans on his desk, exposing her legs and her garters.
Ross rises, walks around the desk, and says "what's wrong with this
proposition?" (Blake says if he were a detective, he would know.) "You've
got legs that go all the way to Honolulu." "Is that all?"

Ross has figured it out. Something about the temperature and the
clothes she is wearing. Why would she wear such a thing. He takes it off
to reveal she is in her undies. "Elementary," Blake says. "Actually, it is
the most perfect body I've ever seen." Blake admits that Ross wins.

We fade back to color. Ross says he will put himself in her hands.
He avers his love.

Alex at the Country Club:

Alex leaves a message for Alan. Nick wanders through, looking "like
hell". He doesn't want to talk to her. "I can take care of myself from now
on." "The breakup of my marriage is my fault." He says he doesn't know himself
anymore. Alex tries to be kind, and he says "spare me the sympathetic clucking".
He says she has what she has always wanted. "I'm really not the hearless witch."

Bridget and Dylan:

It is Day 1000 of Dylan feeling sorry for himself. [Sorry for those
who like this storyline, but I really can't wait until he's gone. I loved
this couple until they got together. They've been annoying ever since, IMO.]
Dylan can't count on others because that would be admitting he will never
get his sight back. He plans to. Bridget is just worried about him. Dylan
says he "just needs time". "I know." Dylan softens a bit, but he wants to
be left alone. She gives him the basic layout of the place, and she leaves.
Right after she is gone, Dylan hears voices. It is the voice of Carlos' mugs.

Jenna and Vanessa:

Jenna tells her strange tale. She got up early and went for a walk.
She watched a "plain-faced, solid, kind" looking man. In fact, she followed
him. She wanted to talk to him, but she couldn't. She followed him all the
way to his office, and then he went inside. [Essentially, she stalked him.]
When he went inside, she started to cry. Jenna wonders if she is losing it.
Vanessa says it is not so strange [yeah, right], that it is because she is
pregnant. Pregnancy brings out strange emotions. She is interested in the
"old-fashioned virtues": steadfastness, reliability, etc. Jenna is pleased
and she thanks Vanessa for being such a friend. She tells her about her
La Mazze [you know, that class pregnant people take, some French-like phrase]
class. She felt great the whole time she was there, just reveling in her
pregnancy. But when she left, she got sad, thinking of how alone she was.
Vanessa says that she has her. She "adores her, would do anything for her".

Josh flies in. Shane's bear has a broken arm. Jenna talks to Shane
while Josh does some quick surgery. Seems the bear's name is Elizabeth. But
it's a boy. Josh explains that haven't had "that" talk yet. Shane goes and
Jenna tells Josh what lucky kids they are to have him. Josh says he is the
lucky one; they give him purpose. He leaves, and Jenna says that "some men
are born to be daddies. Other men, no matter how hard they try, it ain't
gonna happen."

Nadine and Carol:

Carol offers her some support. She thanks him, but asks him to leave.
He doesn't. Carol says all she needs is something positive in her life. She
should just forget about Buzz. She needs to believe in herself, like he does.
She goes to his arms for comfort [no, nothing else].

Cutter and Frank:

All Detective Cutter wants is a stack of pancakes on his day off.
Frank wants him to find David. Gilly comes in and threatens to lambaste [sp?]
the
Springfield PD if he doesn't find her brother. He finally agrees, and they
go to Dylan's property.

Dylan:

The honchos talk about David and Gabriella. They won't kill her
since she is family. They have every intention of knocking David around, though.

Gabriella and David:

As they spin, David talks about his family problems. He says he's
been in worse predicaments (though, he can't think of one). He notices a loose
pin on the chain that attaches them to the ceiling, and he thinks maybe they
can pull it loose by wiggling around.

Blake and Ross:

They clean themselves up. Blake realizes Frank might have come in
[but of course, that is what she really wanted anyway]. Ross is about to run
out, to find Ed, to deposit the check, and tie things up. But before he goes
he makes it clear he is now totally supportive of Blake's "PI stuff". But,
he can not let her support him forever. She grabs him again.

Alex and Nick:

They are having breakfast together. Alex tells Nick about her ideas
for peace. Nick just doesn't get it. "Have you been drinking?" She says
she's "never felt more clear-headed", and laments that he thinks she would
need to drink to feel this way. She tells him that he should fight for Mindy.
That Spaulding will still be there, when he's through. Nick says "If you
believe what you are saying, you are being naive. It's not that easy. [To
bring about peace.]" She thinks he is mistaken. She and Alan, and he and
Mindy can do it. But Nick still doesn't buy it. He tells her to watch her
back.

Nadine and Carol:

Nadine says she will be better. She promises not to be so hard on
herself. Eleni has her bed ready, and Carol goes. Eleni is nice to her, but
Nadine just needs to be alone. Gilly comes to say hey, what are you doing here,
and Nadine asks for her old job. But the spot is already filled. Nadine
says "one door closes, and another opens." Gilly leaves, and Nadine intones
"I hope it opens soon."

Vanessa and Jenna:

Vanessa is a great friend and Jenna appreciates it. "Why are you
making it sound so final?", Vanessa asks. "I'm leaving, Vanessa." Jenna
has decided that she doesn't want to hide her pregnancy. She wants to show
it to the world, but she doesn't want Buzz to know about it still. He is
a "crazy, wonderful, frolicking fool", but he isn't a daddy. She wants to know
if Vanessa thinks she is doing the right thing. Vanessa doesn't want to
interfere, but agrees her "reasoning is sound". Vanessa says she will miss
Jenna. As she leaves, Jenna says "I will always think of you as my sister."

Josh:

Josh is leafing through an atlas. Vanessa comes in and tells him that
he should take a vacation. Nope, Josh has no interest. There isn't much going
on in his life, and he likes working. She tells him that Jenna is gone for
good, and they cry over spilt milk for a while. Josh finally decides that
"sometimes escape is the best thing".

Blake:

There is a knock at the door. It's Alex. Blake wants to tell her about
their victory over Alan. She reiterates that she will never sign anything for
him, but Alex surprises her, saying that she would like to change her mind.

Frank and Cutter:

The Detective is fed up. He thinks he's wasting his well-earned day
off. They leave and we see Dylan. He is struggling through a fence and stumbles
upon a car.

David and Gabriella:

They have been successful. They lay on the ground, trying to free
themselves from their bindings, but the hoods come in. They grab Gabriella
and through David against a wall. A gun is put up to his nose.

"We have a real live hero, boys. Too bad heroes die young."
