A Slow Day in Springfield...

Rehab Hospital: Philip doesn't want to watch anymore as Alan struggles to
turn over.

Diner: Reva demonstrates her new neon sign that says "Buzz & Reva's
Diner." As they kiss, the sign shorts out and Eleni comments that it's
probably not an omen.

Hotel Room (The Springfield Inn??): Josh paces around the bed waiting for
Annie to emerge from the bathroom. Annie, wearing a black push-up teddy,
garter belt and stockings, cuts holes in her diaphragm with a razor blade.
Josh chats on the phone with his office until she emerges from the
bathroom.

Diner: Eleni tries to take back her words about the omen. Buzz tries to
fix the sign and shocks himself.

Rehab: Outside Alan's room Alex and Philip bicker endlessly because Philip
wants to leave. She counsels reconciliation with Alan, even going so far
as to stoop to her knees to beg Philip. They overhear Alan tell his
therapist he's giving up because all this is too hard for him.

Beach: Michelle has cut school to watch Zachary varnish a piece of wood (a
door?) at the beach. She asks him to try to help Matt, explaining that he
is building the house in Lake Geneva for Mattessa. After she recalls
Maureen's death, Zachary agrees to try and help.

Hotel Room: A knock at the door disturbs Josh and Annie's lip lock. He
answers the door and finds a bellman delivering eggs Benedict (?!?). After
this the phone rings, but Josh gets rid of the caller quickly and Annie
continues her seduction. Much slow-motion necking accompanied by loud
music.

Diner: Frank and Buzz struggle to hold on to the new sign as Reva changes
her mind endlessly about its final placement. Finally she agrees on a
place and they attach it. Eleni worries about Breva and the upcoming
detective exam. Enter Hawk with news of Sarah.

Hotel Room: More loud music and post-coital necking. Annie puts up her
legs, claiming she has a cramp.

Beach: Michelle brings out mystery food she has purchased at the school
cafeteria for lunch. The infamous silver bracelet (which Zachary mentions
he gave to Michelle? I must have missed that scene) gets stuck on
Zachary's sweater. Piano concerto music swells as she tries to unhook them
and he tells her he got the bracelet a long time ago in a far away place.
Suddenly they hear geese flying south, followed by shots, and three live
geese waddle onto the stage! Zachary (who of course knows exactly what to
do and seems to understand geese language as well) picks up the wounded
one.

Rehab: Enter Alan's doctor to describe for all of us exactly what Alan's
recovery will entail. He says Alan's body has forgotten how to do
everything and that he will have to relearn everything...including how to
turn over and crawl. Alan retorts that he has never crawled in his life
and he isn't about to start now. Alex weeps quietly in the background.

Diner: Hawk reports that Sarah is sick. Buzz offers to call Italy and get
the complete story since he speaks Greek and can therefore understand
Italian better than Hawk (!??) Hawk tells Reva he wants to make up with
Sarah. Buzz interrupts to explain that Sarah was taken to a Rome hospital.

Hotel: Josh is dressed to go back to work but Annie's still in bed, trying
to seduce him again. The phone rings. It's Reva, explaining about Sarah.
She may have to return the kids to Josh if she goes to Italy. He assures
her that's fine. They mention calling Dylan and Rusty. Reva says Roxie's
too ill for them to bother her. Throughout this conversation Annie
continues hanging all over Josh. He leaves to go to the diner reminding
Annie to go to her AA meeting.

Lighthouse: Michelle, Zachary, and the goose enter the lighthouse as
Zachary expounds on the migratory behaviors of geese, their communicative
powers and the "guardian goose" theory. Michelle isn't sure whether to
believe him or not, but she does insist on naming the goose "Snowbird."
Outside the other geese honk.

Rehab: The doctor says Alan must work hard, but Alan's being his usual
difficult self. Finally they turn him over and leave. Loud cello and bass
music swells as Alan orders Alex and Philip to get out. Alex does leave,
but Philip comes up to talk, pointing out that Alan's really in no position
to give anyone orders.

Lighthouse: Michelle wants to know why Zachary always seems to know
exactly what to do in every situation he encounters. (Some inquiring minds
want to know, too.) Exit Michelle to return to school; enter Zachary's
mystery friend through the window. The mystery man is angry at Zachary
for giving away his bracelet and demands he get it back, implying that
Zach's supernatural powers derive from this jewelry. Meanwhile, outside on
the beach, Michelle vows never to remove the bracelet.

Hotel: Annie lies in bed hugging her uterus and fantasizing about having
Josh's baby. In her dreams, she, Josh and a baby are parading around the
diner. Reva's there, dressed as a cleaning woman, begging Josh to help her
with something. Josh refuses Reva, telling her now that he and Annie have
this perfect baby he won't have any time to help her.

Diner: Enter Josh to comfort Reva. He tells her not to worry; now that
he's there everything will be all right. They embrace as the frame
freezes.
