Leo opens Roger's door and tells him they have to talk. Gilly walks in,
"It's Dinah or me. You get her out of here or I quit."

	THORPE PENTHOUSE

Marcus walks around the bedroom looking at the mess Roger made. Dinah
is sitting on the floor next to the bed. Marcus, "Have you had enough yet?"

	TOWERS

Matt & Vanessa dance. She sees Ross & Amanda arrive and wonders where
Blake is. Vanessa, "Amanda has been in town 2 seconds & she's already
going after Ross." Matt doesn't think Blake has anything to worry about,
but Van thinks she does because Matt doesn't know Amanda. They go over to
Ross & Amanda to see what's going on.

Eleni & Frank arrive. She complains about Cutter yelling at Frank. Frank
tells her that he & Nell have a good lead on the dock murder-- Marian
Crane. Eleni can't believe he thinks that "sweet, quiet woman" is a
murderer.

	BRENT'S APT.

Brent is taping. "No one suspects that anything bad happened to Nadine.
They all think she went on a big trip. Which is actually true, except
she's never coming back. Too bad she's not around to read those old tea
leaves of hers. Tell Lucy what she's going to get tonight." He needs to
get over to the hospital lab to change the lab results before Lucy gets them.
<Cutter is outside the door.> Brent puts a hospital ID on a white lab
coat. Cutter knocks. "Marian" puts on her wig and opens the door. She
leaves the chain on, but Patrick wants to come in. Marian lets him in
and he asks her out for dinner at the Towers. He wants to make up for
how he treated her today-- no shop talk. Marian agrees, but wants to
change. Cutter waits in the hall. Brent, "Marian my dear. What a
coup! Dinner with Springfield's finest." Outside, Cutter rolls his eyes.

	THE PARK

Lucy & AM throw a frisbee by moonlight. AM asks if she's warm enough.
Lucy says she's "positive" and tells him that she used to like the word,
but is trying not to think about the third HIV test. A technician has
her life in his hands. AM says that's why Wyatt will oversee it
personally. They'll know tomorrow. Lucy feels like a seesaw: up & down,
up & down. Tonight she wants to believe that she has a future with AM.

	THORPE'S

Dinah tells Marcus that it's not what it looks like. Marcus, "Look at
this place. Who knows what else he could have done?" Dinah, "He didn't
do anything to me." Marcus, "He didn't break you. If he hit you..."
Dinah, "Nobody hits me. He lost his temper. Men like Roger who live
life to the fullest, they feel things differently & express themselves
differently. It's all about extreme highs & lows. He's a very
passionate person." Marcus asks if she believes any of that. She says
Marcus couldn't understand Roger. He does understand, he's been mad, but
he's never threatened a woman. Dinah says he has the wrong impression.
Marcus, "Your suitcase is open. The place looks like a disaster area and
you're standing there like the ghost of someone you used to be." He
wants her to be straight with him.

	WSPR

Roger asks what his wife has done now. Gilly tells him that Dinah has
fiddled with air schedules, office schedules, crew assignments. It has
to stop. Gilly won't stay & work with Dinah. Roger will take care of
Dinah. Gilly leaves.

Roger, "Leo, What will it cost me to divorce that child from hell?"
Leo, "You want to divorce Dinah Marler?"
Roger, "Yesterday."

Vanessa tells Amanda that she looks lovely, Amanda returns the complement
and pretends she's not sure of Matt's name. Vanessa asks about Blake.
Ross explains that the dinner plans were last minute, so she went home to
change, "she wants to go all out, I guess." Matt looks behind Ross,
"Well, it looks like she did just that." Blake is wearing a short red
dress with feathers covering each breast and her rear end. They all
look at her in shock. Ross tells her that she looks wonderful. Matt,
"That's some dress." Vanessa jabs him in the stomach. Amanda, "It is.
Is it new?" Blake says she's had it for ages & hopes that Matt &
Vanessa are joining them. Matt explains they're celebrating their
anniversary. Vanessa tells them that they celebrate once a week. Amanda
calls it romantic. Blake tells her that she & Ross have been married
quite awhile, but it feels like their anniversary every day.

Matt & Vanessa go to the bar. Vanessa, "I don't know if I feel worse for
Blake or Ross. That dress is just terrible. You don't know Amanda, but
before this night is over there's going to be an earthquake at that table."

Amanda asks if it's true, the story she's heard that Ross's daughter
married a monster. Blake, "She married my father."

	WSPR

Leo tells Roger that when he proposed he knew Dinah was adolescent,
avaricious, & hard to control. Roger doesn't trust her, he told her to
stay out of his personal business, but she won't listen. Leo says he
cannot afford to divorce Dinah, "By buying Lewis Oil leases, investing &
squandering money at WSPR, & by marrying a girl who has yacht club taste,
you have practically wiped yourself out." Roger doesn't believe it, but
the accountants don't lie. Roger has spent alot of money trying to find
Hart & the oil leases won't pay off soon enough to bail him out. Leo
warned Roger that his revenge against Vanessa would cost him, he's close
to bankruptcy. Roger yells at Leo to leave. Leo tells him that he needs
Dinah's money.

	THORPE'S

Dinah complains that all Roger talks about is Hart & he wants to tell
Hart about Peter "to snatch the kid back from Vanessa & Bridget." She
doesn't understand why Roger cares about them when he has her. She
should be enough for him. Marcus asks if that's why she paid off the
p.i. Dinah says Roger found out & threw a hissy fit. Marcus, "A hissy
fit is when you put your hands on your hips & stamp your foot & yell
stupid things. When you thrash an apartment, that's called a psychotic
episode." He wants her to go with him. She doesn't want to run away,
but he won't let her stay. She has to go to the Towers to hear his new
arrangements. She agrees & leaves with him. After they leave, a man
walks into the bedroom from the other room. He looks around.

	THE PARK

A policeman tells Lucy that she's not very smart to be kissing AM here.
Lucy yells at him for calling her "young lady" & asks why he's breaking
up people who love each other instead of finding real killers & rapists.
AM stops her. The cop threatens to run her in for showing disrespect to
a cop. AM tells him who they are & he asks if she's related to Frank &
Harley Cooper. He suggests they find a safer place, then leaves. AM
laughs about the look on the cop's face when Lucy stood up to him.

	TOWERS

Frank thinks Marian is the killer. Eleni calls Marian timid & terrified
of violence. Frank is upset that Cutter wasn't grateful when he
presented the possibility to him & that he has a 24 hour suspension. Now
they'll never know if Marian did it.

Cutter & Marian walk in arm-in-arm. Frank wonders what Cutter is up to.

Amanda apolgizes for insulting Blake's father, but everyone seems so
worried about Dinah. Ross tells her that Blake's father is Roger Thorpe.
Amanda, "That explains things. It must be hard to be torn between your
wife & daughter." Blake tells her that their marriage comes first.
Amanda says that it takes a special love to care about a daughter after
all the mistakes she's made. Blake goes to the ladies room.

Dinah & Marcus arrive. When she sees Ross, she wants to leave, but
Marcus won't let her.

Blake storms into the ladies room & yells to Vanessa about Amanda, "that
phony, man-eating, plastic puss, forked tongued, heiress". Blake can't
believe she did this to herself. Vanessa, "What, the ah..." & touches
the dress. Blake agrees it's a mess. Vanessa says Amanda doesn't look
that good, but Blake says "she looks better than I do. She looks like
she came off a movie set & I look like the whore of Babylon." Vanessa
tells her that Amanda has that affect on people & she's speaking from
experience. Amanda has changed her m.o. from pretending to be a helpless
female to letting her claws show. "What she wants, she goes after. If
she looked at my husband the way she's looking at your husband, I would
boil her in oil."

Amanda toasts, "To old friends & new beginnings" and looks at Matt.

Dinah sits at a table. Roger walks in & tells her to come home with
him. She tells him to drop dead.

Cutter has to check in with the department. Frank stops him in the
hall. Patrick exxplains that he's following up Frank's lead, things
about Marian's story don't add up. They need more than hunches, so he's
trying to get her to trust him & maybe she'll open up. Cutter tells
Frank that, "as far as you're concerned we're two nice people having a
nice dinner out. Anything else is just a stab, no pun intended, in the
dark." He doesn't want Frank to say anything to her.

Blake gets back to the table. Ross is worried about Dinah & Roger.
Amanda suggests leaving. Blake would like to go home.

Dinah isn't going anywhere. Roger understands why she's upset. He has a
terrible temper & overreacted, but give him a chance to clear the air &
explain. Dinah says there's nothing to explain, "actions speak louder
than words." Roger, "But it was your action that provoked it. You
interfered in my personal life, in something very important to me.
Anybody would have gotten upset." Dinah, "Upset? Upset is when you
stamp your foot & yell. You had a psychotic episode. You showed your
true colors. Everything that everyone has been saying is true." Roger
wonders who she's been talking to, Vanessa or Ross. Marcus, "I'm the one
that told her to pack up & move out."

	THORPE'S

Hart walks around the bedroom, looks in a chest, and finds Roger/Dinah's
engagement picture/article. He smiles.

	THE PARK

AM makes fun of how Lucy was with the cop. She laughs. He asks if they
should get married at Christmas. No that's too soon. He asks about
February--Washington & Lincoln's birthdays. Lucy suggests Valentine's
Day. He agrees, even though it's cliched. He wants to go make some
lists & eat something.

	THE TOWERS

Marian wants to talk about Cutter's work. It's more interesting than her
job of sitting at a computer crunching numbers. Cutter, "But they're
such big numbers." Marian asks about the murder on the docks. Cutter
thought that was too violent for her & too personal. <Cutter puts his
arm on the seat behind Marian.> He knows she was a victim of an attack &
doesn't know how someone recovers from that. It's bound to color her
attitude towards men. She should stay out of situations like that.
Marian asks if he really wants to know why she was alone on the docks at
night. Cutter tells her she has a right to go there, but she should take
precautions-- self-defense, weapons training. Marian doesn't think she
could hurt anyone, even in self-defense. Patrick tells her that judges &
juries are very lenient on women who have to use violence to defend
themselves.

Roger confronts Marcus & tells him to stay out of it. Marcus, "Not when
it has to do with my friends. Your nice guy clothes don't fit you too
well. But I see what you are underneath, you're a bully & a coward."
Roger, "You sure know how to provoke a guy." Dinah tells them to stop &
asks Marcus to leave them alone. Marcus goes to the bar, next to Vanessa
& Matt. Vanessa asks what they were fighting about. Marcus tells them
that Dinah called off Roger's p.i. & that Roger is looking for his son.

Dinah won't talk to Roger & leaves. Matt prevents Roger from following her.

Ladies room: Gilly is seated in front of a mirror & Amanda leans over her
to check her makeup. Gilly tells her she looks fine & leaves. Amanda
sits down & agrees that it's perfect. She gets up to leave when Blake
comes in. Amanda asks if she's feeling well. Blake has felt better &
asks what Amanda wants from her husband.

Vanessa asks Ross to come with her to Matt & Roger.

Roger, "Just stay out of this. I'm going after my wife."
Matt, "The hell you are."
Vanessa, "You're not going anywhere until you tell me why you're looking
for your son."

	THE PARK

Dinah is walking through the park and drops her keys. She bends down to
pick them up, but someone else gets to them first. "You don't want to
lose these." She looks up. It's Hart.
