The turkeys are dreaming tonight in Springfield, USA...

SPAULDING MANSION: Alan joins a solitary Alex for Thanksgiving dinner &
comments on the dismal turnout. Alex asks what he wants & he suggests
soup, turkey, etc.

MARLER HOUSE: Blake is still in the kitchen wrestling with the turkey.
Holly bets on the bird. She & Ross go in to see if they can help Blake.
Tangie keeps Roger company in the dining room.

DINER: Buzz gives thanks & the family digs in. Buzz whistles for their
attention & protests that he hasn't finished! "I would like to thank you
for this beautiful woman." He takes Nadine's hand. "I would like to thank
you for Nadine."

BOARDINGHOUSE: Bill helps Dylan to the head of the table. Nick stands &
proposes a toast to the Lewises & the Spauldings & expresses the fervent
hope that the families will soon be one. If the Spauldings needed help,
he'd like to think they could count on the Lewises. "Sit down, Nick,"
orders Mindy. Nick balks, but Van backs up Mindy, saying they won't
discuss business today. HB seconds this & asks Dylan to say grace. Dylan
says he realizes he wouldn't have been given the burden of being blind if
he couldn't handle it. He offers thanks for his "secret weapon" --
Bridget & for his family & his home. Everyone says amen & Bridget kisses
Dylan. Peter calls out, "Yay!!!" The family echoes him.

JAIL: Cutter brings a turkey dinner to Ed, who's not very hungry. Ed asks
after the cop who had the heart attack. The guy's OK & is scheduled for
an angioplasty. Cutter wonders how many lives Ed has saved in his time.
"Not enough to compensate for taking one," answers Ed. Cutter reminds him
that Dylan is still alive & that *if* Ed did anything to Dylan at all, it
was just "one night that we all wish didn't happen." Ed doesn't really
want to be comforted. Cutter mentions that Eve stopped by, but he had to
send her home because it wasn't visiting hours.

SPAULDING MANSION: Donna carries in the bird & is instructed to place it
before Alan, who is claiming his place as "man of the house" even though
he's sitting at the "wrong end" of the table. He sets about carving it,
asking if Alex still favors dark meat. She informs him that he's been
mistaken about that for years. Donna expresses a preference for wings &
drools over the bird a bit before being summarily dismissed by Alan with
nary a bite. "Where did you find that one? The roller derby?" he asks.
Alex contends, "She amuses me."

The siblings comment on one another's eating habits. Alan avers that
they're both "carnivores--predators of the 1st order." Alex mentions her
days as a vegetarian in the Far East. Alan reminds her about losing
Spaulding in the meantime. He would never have let that happen. "You were
in jail," she reminds him. Alan notes that Alex rarely visited him there
& didn't even call last Thanksgiving. "I think of you at every major
holiday," Alex insists. Alan retorts that her way of thinking about him
was to have a secretary send flowers, "but you don't sign the card." Alex
says it's the thought that counts, which is exactly Alan's point. He says
they have a "psychic connection" & recalls incidents from their past to
prove his point. Alex asks her psychic brother to predict what will
happen to Spaulding. "What & spoil your happy Thanksgiving?" he replies.

DINER: Buzz pushes the oyster & seaweed stuffing. Stavros asks where he
got such an "interesting" recipe & Buzz makes up some guff about the
Emperor of China, then goes around the table to serve everyone. Nadine
stands & her back spasms on her. Carroll gets concerned, remembering
something she said at the lake, but Nadine says she'll be fine. Buzz
watches them with an odd expression.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Everyone is enjoying the meal. Jet asks for someone to get
her the baby's spoon & Dylan volunteers. Everyone watches while he
successfully navigates his way to the drawers. He notices something
different about the knobs & Matt says he coded them -- different shapes
for different utensils. Dylan finds this helpful & Matt says he can
implement the system throughout the house. Jet talks about how handy Matt
is. Van stares into a candle flame...

Bill asks if Matt will teach him how to use some of his tools. Van thinks
this is a great idea & Bill asks why she's been keeping her & Matt a
secret. He says he knows about them because he saw her at the cabin the
night he stowed away. He thinks it's cool. Others at the table overhear &
Van attempts to make it less than it is, but everyone thinks it's
wonderful that she & Matt are a pair, including Jet. Even Mindy is not
upset that Van is getting on with her life after Billy. HB wants to find
a place at Lewis Oil for Matt & Josh seconds the idea. Nick proposes a
toast to Matt & Van. Matt says in front of everyone, "I love you,
Vanessa!" Everyone claps. Fade back from the candle to Van's face. Too
bad, it was just a daydream.

SPRINGFIELD INN: Jenna is dining alone. She greets the Grants on the way
to her table. The Grants chat about Sid's successful career & Vivian
makes a crack about her son quitting law school before he ever got
started. She deplores the latest escapade he's gotten involved in &
wonders why David can't have "decent" friends, like Gilly. Gilly defends
her brother & Dr. Grant asks for a truce. He also asks Sid if he'd help
out if David needs help. Sid says he certainly will.

WHO KNOWS WHERE: Gabriella tries to wake up an unconscious David. Uncle
Carlos barges in & pulls her away from David, telling her it's all her
fault. She defends David, saying he helped her get away from the police &
can be trusted. "We trust nobody!" insists Carlos. Gabby says David has a
record & will do whatever they say. Carlos doesn't want to get into it.
He has to go out of town. He leaves, presumably locking David & Gabby in.
David wakes up & Gabby rushes to his side. David has deduced that Carlos
is her uncle & Gabby reminds David that her parents are dead. "He takes
care of me," she explains. [Nice guardian, eh?] It seems they are locked
in some kind of storage area. Gabby's not too sure, since she was brought
in blindfolded. She doesn't think there's any way out & is really scared.

MARLER HOUSE: Roger probes for info on Tangie's involvement w/the
Spauldings. Tangie explains about agreeing to Alan's request to not tell
AM they had known each other before the shooting, then feeling bad about
it, then coming clean w/AM. She's concerned that AM doesn't trust her
anymore. Rog finds this amusing. "Alan-Michael Spaulding is one of the
least trustworthy people on this planet," he informs her. Rog warns
Tangie to steer clear of Alan, the prime manipulator. Tangie notes that
Blake said the same thing. She goes to help in the kitchen, leaving Rog
to read up on Ed's arrest in the paper. Close up on the candles...

Rog answers the door to Cutter holding Ed by the scruff of his neck. Ed's
in prison gray, manacled hand & foot, dragging chains. Holly & Ross
emerge from the kitchen. Ed confesses to Rog, "I've wronged you for so
many years. I'm a hyprocrite. I'm a fraud. I only pretended to be a good
man & all the while I was badmouthing you & blaming you for my failings."
Ross warns Ed not to incriminate himself. "But I'm guilty! I am guilty of
so many things Roger, & only you how know guilty I am." He pleads guilty
to trying to steal Holly, to pretending to be Chrissy's father, to "lies
& moral platitudes & setting myself up at the expense of a better man, a
far better man, a taller man, a stronger man, a man with so much more
hair..." [ROTFL!!] He falls to the ground, kisses Roger's feet & begs Rog
to forgive him. Holly urges Rog to do so & Rog says he'll think about it.

Holly enters & asks what's behind Rog's "sly smile." He pulls her onto
his lap & says he was thinking of all he has to be thankful for.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Hamp joins the Lewises for dessert & says he spoke to
Billy earlier. Van asks how he is, since Billy never tells her the truth.
Hamp says he's getting by & he'll come out of it OK.

Nick asks Mindy to tell him what's going on. She tells him he's just
being overly sensitive & walks away to join her grand-dad.

Jet tells Dylan she has to run out for a little bit. From the door, she
looks back sadly at the happy family.

SPAULDING MANSION: Alan complains about the silver being scratched & the
crystal being chipped. Alex says any damage was there when the stuff
became "hers." Alan bridles at this claim to ownership, but Alex notes
that possession is 9/10 of the law. The talk turns to Alan's solitude. "I
have my son," he claims. "Having experienced Alan-Michael's precarious
notion of loyalty, I would say, dear, you are quite alone."

DINER: Buzz offers seconds of stuffing, but everyone is stuffed. But not
too stuffed for dessert. Eleni & Frank get up to fetch the pies. Frank
wonders what's wrong with Nadine. Eleni says she doesn't want to leave.
Frank thinks that's good, but E says N feels they must go, but won't say
why. Frank says maybe he can figure out Nadine's secret. Eleni tells
Frank how proud she is of his business. Frank is worried about David.

LOCKED AWAY: David searches for a way out & says Gabby's been playing a
dangerous game with the hijackers. She admits she was spying, but it was
because Carlos would have hurt people she cared about if she didn't.
David asks about these people, but Gabby won't elaborate. Her job was to
find out who owned the keychain. When she learned it was Matt, she gave
Carlos a phony name. Maybe he found out she lied & that's why he doesn't
trust her anymore, she speculates. She swears she's telling the truth &
asks David to tell her the truth too. Was he only pretending to care
about her? He says no, it was real, which was why he was so shocked when
he saw her tattoo. He says now they have to be completely honest with
each other. Gabby agrees. David wants to know about Carlos. Gabby thinks
Carlos means to kill them. David sees one bright spot: it's Thanksgiving,
but he doesn't have to have dinner w/his parents! Gabby hugs David.

SPRINGFIELD INN: Vivian thinks a woman was staring at them. She's sure it
was because she overheard them discussing David & knows they're the
family of "that missing fugitive." Gilly & Sid both try to defuse Vivian.
Sid says David is not exactly a fugitive. Vivian won't be appeased &
decides she wants to leave. Dr. Grant calls for the check & leaves with
his wife. Gilly tells Sid, "The very next time you are embarrassed about
where you come from, remember this evening." They follow her parents out.

In a quiet corner, Jenna sits alone & revels in feeling her baby move.
Close in on a candle...

A pretty little girl in white runs to Jenna & hugs her. Buzz, dressed in
a tux, scoops up the girl & carries her to her seat while apologizing for
being kept late at the lotion company. He takes his seat & kisses Jenna.
Close in on the candle... Jenna smiles sadly.

JAIL: Cutter announces that visiting hours have begun. He lets Bridget
into Ed's cell. She's come with Thanksgiving dinner for her uncle, but
says she has to get back. Ed asks after Dylan & thanks her for coming by.
She asks, without much enthusiasm, if he wants anything else. He says
he's fine. She breaks down & gives her uncle a hug. "I love you," she
cries. Cutter announces more visitors. It's Eve & Michelle.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Matt & Vanessa are doing the dishes together & are looking
rather chummy. Mindy offers to help, but they decline. Josh gives them a
funny look & Van cedes the drying to Mindy.

Nick tells Josh that he didn't mean to sound like he was pushing
Spaulding money on the Lewises. Josh says it's a bad time to talk
business. Mindy stares at a candle...

Nick admits to everyone that he put the bank up to calling in the Lewis
notes. Josh calls it Spaulding business as usual, but Nick takes full
responsibility for the mess. He says it wasn't supposed to go on this
long because Vanessa was supposed to have taken the deal. The more he
kept trying to convince her to take the deal, "the more I felt that a
part of me was dying. And I realized that if I kept working at Spaulding,
if I kept doing things the Spaulding way, I would lose things that were
really important to me, like my honor, my self-respect, & most of all,
Melinda's trust." He goes to Mindy & apologizes to her for the pain he
caused her. "I'm quitting Spaulding & I'm never going back. I just want
to concentrate on building a family with you. That is, if you'll ever
forgive me." Mindy cries & hugs her husband. Close in on the candle...

Mindy blows out the candle & rises dejectedly as Nick asks if she's ready
to leave. She tells him to go on alone. He wants them to go together so
they can spend some time alone, but Mindy protests that she wants to
spend some time with her family, since she doesn't get to see them that
often [!!]. Nick asks her to stop, but she says she's just being honest.
She tells him to go home & do his work. He leaves. Mindy cries.

JAIL: Eve hugs Ed joyfully. He says she shouldn't have brought Michelle.
Mish brought him something she baked herself & wanted to share with him.
Ed hugs both his ladies.

MARLER HOUSE: Ed & Ross sit across the table from each other, drinking
wine. There was a strange exchange that I didn't understand, but I'll
repeat verbatim, in case it makes sense to anyone else:
Ross: So, why did you hit me with the carrot?
Rog: I didn't want to waste the olives.
A clue, anyone?

Holly exits in search of an open deli & both men give chase, begging her
not to leave. She goes anyway. Rog expresses surprise. "That we're
spending Thanksgiving alone together?" asks Ross. No, that Ross & Blake
are still married, says Rog. Ross wasn't quite what he had in mind for a
son-in-law; he'd at least figured on someone born in the same century as
Blake. Ross holds his tongue. Rog suggests that Ross & Blake might come
spend some weekends with him & Holly once they get the Jessup farm fixed
up. He figures Ross must get tired of being cooped up in his "stuffy
little bon-bon box of a house." Ross points the remote control at Rog's
head & clicks, as though he's trying to turn him off. It doesn't work.

DINER: Lucy compliments Buzz's cheesecake, but the recipe's secret. Buzz
says the secret is that he talks to it, like Lucy talks to her plants.
Nadine confirms that Buzz does indeed talk to the food while he cooks.
Nadine gets up for hot cocoa & meets Buzz in the kitchen. They are both
feeling bad about leaving, but Nadine insists they should still go, and
the sooner the better. She suggests leaving tonight & not telling anyone.
Buzz ponders this as the screen fades to black.
