NOTE: First few minutes missing due to Hurricane Gordon update.

DINER: Grandma & Grandpa Cooper coo over Marina & Buzz promises they will
all be together for Thanksgiving. Eleni asks them to take Marina to the
hospital for her checkup. They agree & wheel her out to the thanks of
Eleni & Frank. When they're gone, Frank sends Stavros into the kitchen to
hunt down all kinds of old equipment -- toasters, blenders, etc. Eleni
wonders what her husband is up to, besides making a mess. Frank wants to
build a mountain that Buzz & Nadine will have to climb over in order to
leave town.

CEDARS: Jenna shows off her ballooning belly to Lillian & thanks her for
keeping quiet about Jenna's little secret. Lillian warns Jenna that all
the muumuus in the world won't keep her secret much longer. Alex shows up
for a hospital board meeting & Jenna turns her back & buttons her coat.
Lillian & Ed have both apparently forgotten about the meeting. Lill goes
to page Ed. Jenna thanks Alex for dropping the lawsuit, even though it
was against her will. Alex says she doesn't know how Jenna gets away with
"flouncing around town with my brother & then getting Buzz Cooper to give
up so much for you." Jenna doesn't understand. Alex says Buzz has
sacrificed a lot for Jenna, but does not elaborate.

Cutter stops Lillian to ask her some questions. She says she's too busy,
but Cutter presses, saying it's about Dylan's accident. He's closing in
on the person who did it & needs Lillian's help.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Dylan tells Ed he nearly burned down the house. Jet says
it was just a little accident. Ed thinks Dylan needs help. Dylan says he
needs his eyes. Ed wants to talk to Dylan. Jet says it's not a good time.
She's very upset & wishes the person who hurt Dylan knew about it & would
pay for it. "He knows, and he'll pay," says Ed.

BAUER CABIN: Van & Matt talk about Bill's "rebellion." Matt thinks Van is
making too much of it, but she is really concerned & tries to figure out
how she should handle the situation. Maybe she & Matt shouldn't see each
other anymore, because she is worried Bill will find out about them. Matt
thinks maybe he can help with Bill.

LEWIS OIL: The Lewises are in crisis mode -- even Mindy & Henry are
helping out in the office. All their notes are due in the morning & they
haven't found a lender to cover them. Josh screams for Wanda. Mindy
insists they have a way out. Henry says he offered to mortgage all his
holdings, but HB refused, saying it wouldn't be enough. Mindy reiterates
Nick's offer to bail them out "with no strings attached." She says Josh
can override Van's decision. Josh agrees with Vanessa. He doesn't want to
take money from the Spauldings. Henry backs Josh up. He says Alex will
expect something in return. Mindy says it's not Alex but Nick who makes
the decisions. "Don't be deluded. Alexandra always calls the shots," says
Alan from the doorway. Henry is delighted to see him, but Josh is not.
Alan tells Josh that he & his company are sinking. "Before you go under,
don't you at least think you should hear what I have to say?"

BOARDINGHOUSE: Ed figures Dylan must feel like he's in a cage, not able
to get out & the people he loves not able to get in. Dylan agrees that
it's a dark cage. No matter how hard Jet tries, she can't get in with
him. "There is something else you know, aside from being in the dark,
which is the kind of desperate loneliness that a drunk, when he hits
bottom, it's like he's lost his soul." Jet feels no sympathy for whoever
hurt Dylan, only hate. "Well, I hate him too & I know him better than
anybody," replies Ed. He tells Dylan what he thinks happened. "I'm the
drunk who did it."

LEWIS OIL: Josh tells Alan he's an ex-con with no money or power who
probably needs help even more than the Lewises. Alan says he may be
momentarily without money, but he still has the power he was born with,
honed to a fine point over 5 years in prison. "What is this, a resume?"
asks Josh. Alan offers to help Josh fight Alex. Josh asks why Alan thinks
Lewis Oil is in trouble & why he thinks Alex is behind it. Word gets
around, Alan says. Mindy says Alan is wrong -- Alex offered to help them.
"At what price, Mindy?" replies Alan. Josh tells Mindy to ignore Alan;
he's just fishing. "In case you haven't noticed, nobody's taking the
bait." HB buzzes & Josh & Henry go to talk to him. Alan can see that the
Lewises "would rather drown in their own pride than accept my help." He
starts to leave but Mindy stops him. She wants to know what Alan meant
when he said Alex had a price for helping them. Alan apologizes & says
he's fond of Mindy & doesn't want to hurt her. "If you're accusing my
husband, I want you to say it, & say it to my face," she replies.

SPAULDING MANSION: Nick sighs & stares at the video of him & Susan. He
turns it off. Ginger shows up with the vacuum & offers to work around him
("just pick up your feet..."). Nick says it's not a good time. "Do you
mind if turn on the TV? My story's on; it's the one bright spot in my
day," Ginger says. Nick locks the video in the safe & the phone rings.
Ginger offers to answer, but Nick asks her to leave. Ginger exits & Nick
talks to Alex. She wants to know if Vanessa has called. Nick says no, &
is very worried. He suggests bailing out the Lewises without waiting for
Van to agree to their request. "Absolutely not," replies Alex. She tells
him to sit tight & trust her.

CEDARS: Jenna presses Alex to tell her what Buzz's sacrifice was. Alex
thought she already knew that Buzz cashed in his favor by asking Alex to
drop the lawsuit. Jenna is stunned. Alex is glad Buzz got them out of
each other's hair, "unless of course you throw in your lot with Alan, in
which case, we'll be seeing each other." Alex turns on her heel & leaves.

Buzz & Nadine arrive with Marina. Buzz promises ice cream & a lollipop if
Marina is nice to the doctor. Nadine seems upset as she starts to wheel
the stroller, leaving Buzz in the waiting room. He hugs her & reminds her
that they're not going to Mars & will see the kids lots. She takes Marina
in to the doctor's office. Buzz sees Jenna go into a doctor's office.

Lillian tells Cutter he should ask his questions of Eve, since she was
Dylan's doctor. Cutter's questions are personal, not medical. He asks if
Dr. Bauer is a drunk.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Bridget wants to believe that what Ed is saying is a joke,
but Dylan realizes Ed is telling the truth. Ed says he wishes he could
lie about it, but he can't. "You did this??!!" shouts Bridget. "I hate
you." She runs upstairs. Ed goes to Dylan. "If I could give you my eyes,
I would," he says. Dylan tells him to get out. Ed tries to talk some
more, but Dylan starts yelling at him to get out. Ed doesn't move. Dylan
reaches around & finds him, then starts pushing him toward the door,
yelling, "Get out! Get out before I kill you!" Ed isn't moving much.
Dylan starts crying. Finally, Ed leaves.

DINER: A bunch of old appliances litter the counter. Eleni thinks Frank
has lost his mind. Frank says he's employing reverse psychology. He sends
Stavros out to buy red ribbons & round up all the neighbors. Eleni
realizes what Frank has in mind & decides he's a genius. "This diner
always kept mom & dad together, but they didn't know was that the reverse
was just as true. It's always been their anchor." Eleni reminds Frank how
much she loves him. They kiss.

LEWIS OIL: Alan says the trouble Lewis Oil is in reminds him of a ploy
Brandon once pulled with a rival. Mindy asks if he's implying that Alex
created the situation to get leverage on Lewis Oil. "Over Vanessa," he
clarifies. He reminds Mindy of Van's position as a trustee. She says Nick
would never stoop to such a tactic. Alan says Mindy knows Nick better
than he. She asks what kind of proof he has. He has none, but says if the
bank is involved there must be some document signed by either Alex or
Nick. Mindy defends Nick again. Alan hopes she's right, but just in case,
he hands her a piece of paper [my bet: combination to the Spaulding
safe]. Josh comes in & starts ragging on Alan again, but he simply says
he was catching up with his former daughter-in-law. Contrary to popular
opinion, there are people he cares about very much. He gives Mindy a look
of pure caring, then leaves. Josh tells Mindy that Alan's a snake & she
should forget anything he told her. Mindy says she'll be back in a little
while -- there's something she has to do.

BAUER CABIN: Matt tells Vanessa about his own rebellion & how everyone
thought he was headed for Juvey Hall. He knows how tough it is for Bill,
especially without a father. Van says she recognizes that & tries to make
up for it. Matt says she's too pretty to be a father & she can't do both
jobs. He asks her to give him a shot at being Bill's buddy. Van is
touched. "What is it about you that makes me feel OK, makes me see things
clearly?" "I just listen," he replies. Van kisses him.

CEDARS: Lillian is offended that Cutter would accuse Ed of being a drunk.
She points out that his drinking problem was a long time ago & he's been
sober for years. Cutter asks point-blank if Ed was drunk the night of
Dylan's accident. Lillian says she has work to do. Cutter tells her she
can answer the questions now or go down to headquarters with him. Lillian
says Ed told her he had a blackout. That's all she knows.

Alex spots Buzz & they exchange pleasantries. She thanks him for spotting
Susan & helping them out of a tough spot. She's surprised he hasn't asked
for another favor, after wasting his first wish on Jenna. Buzz doesn't
want anything else. Alex says he should call if he changes his mind.

Jenna is happy to see Buzz. He asks if she's sick. She says she's just
getting a physical. Buzz says he & Nadine are leaving Springfield.
Jenna's surprised. "What about 5th St?" she asks. He mentions seeing
Jenna with Alan & she tries to tell him they're not involved, but they're
both talking at once. Buzz insists on being heard. "I hope... that you
find all the happiness in the world... and that your billion-dollar
dreams come true." He starts to leave, but she calls him back. She asks
why he helped her out with Alex. He says it was for old time's sake. "It
looks like so many of us are leaving," she says. [Perhaps a reference to
Fiona Hutchison's impending departure?]. "Goodbye, Buzz." Jenna walks off
with a nurse.

DINER: Stavros has a bag full of red ribbons. Frank gives him a banner to
put up with Eleni & he enlists Mrs. Popoff to help him put ribbons on the
heap of junk she thinks ought to go in the trash. Eleni shows up with a
huge hammer & asks what Frank wants it for. He acts mysterious.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Bridget finds Dylan grieving on the front porch & joins
him. She says maybe it's better that they know the truth. Dylan is
crushed that someone he admired so much could have done this to him. Ed
took not only his sight, but the only weapon he had left, hate. He wants
to hate the person who hurt him, but he can't hate Ed. He doesn't know
what to do with the hatred that's eating away at him. Jet tries to
comfort him, but he asks her to leave. He is afraid he will explode. Jet
leaves him alone.

HIGH SCHOOL GYM: Michelle worries because her dad is late; he was
supposed to give a speech. Bill is worried about his mom too; she seems
different & is always busy at work & acts weird when he tries to ask her
about it. Michelle says her dad got weird like that when he started
dating Eve. Bill doesn't think his mom is dating anyone, but Michelle
says she could be. Bill figures he must just be imagining it. Like the
way he got jealous over "the goofy way you looked at Matt." Michelle
thinks it was nice & they take each other's hands. Ed arrives.

SPAULDING MANSION: Mindy finds Nick in the study. He's waiting for Van to
call. "Why do you think she hasn't?" Mindy asks. Nick figures it's just
the Lewis habit of not trusting the Spauldings. He wants the Lewis/
Spaulding feud to end. "We all share a common enemy in Alan. If Vanessa
could just realize that, she would accept this olive branch I'm holding
out to her." Mindy puts her arms around Nick. "You mean that, don't you?"
she asks. Nick is determined to make it happen. He kisses her ardently,
then apologizes for having to leave. He encourages Mindy to talk Van into
accepting the offer if she calls. He leaves & Mindy unfolds the paper
Alan gave her earlier. It's the combination to the safe. Mindy debates,
first walking away from the safe, then turning around. She finally goes
for it. Inside, she finds an agreement between Spaulding & a bank
regarding the revocation of Lewis Oil notes. Nick's signature is at the
bottom. "Oh my god! Nick, how could you?" cries Mindy.

DINER: Buzz & Nadine enter with Marina. They are greeted by shouts of Bon
Voyage! Buzz asks if everyone is trying to get rid of them. "You're happy
that we're leaving?!" Frank & Eleni say they just want their parents to
be happy. Eleni hands the hammer to Frank, who hands it to Buzz. Frank
explains that this is a "Goodbye to Fifth Street" party. He unveils the
pile of old equipment. "All this represents what my father used to curse
out all the time." Eleni points to an ironing board that Nadine has
always hated. Frank says they're looking at a mountain of bad memories &
Buzz should smash them. Buzz can't do it. The stuff is perfectly good. "I
don't hate these things; I love these things." Frank reminds his father
of when he said he hated the diner & everything in it & couldn't wait to
get away. Nadine says he was exaggerating. Frank says his parents wanted
to get as far away as possible, where everything was new & shiny. "Is
that what we want?" Nadine asks Buzz. "I don't know," he answers.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Matt comes in & sees that Jet is upset. "I just can't do
it anymore," she sobs.

GYM: Ed tells Michelle that he can't give the speech today & that he has
to talk to her alone. Vanessa arrives & Bill is glad she's not late.
Cutter arrives & arrests Ed for hitting Dylan. Michelle asks what's going
on as the rest of the crowd makes noises of shock. Cutter begins
Mirandizing Ed as the screen fades to black.
