   Alan's Lair.
Howie, Ross' look-alike, starts his transformation process upstairs
(Susan is assigned the looks; Jenna is to work on the diction).
   ["Parturiunt montes, nascetur ridiculus mus"
{The mountains are in labor, and a
ridiculous mouse will be brought forth} ]
While waiting, Jenna (1) warns Alan not to get too wild with her
girlfriend Vanessa in the quest for her signature on the trust document.
Al brushes off the concern, and issues further instructions: Alan
Michael and Roger are not to know about Howie (he'll be staying with
Susan in her separate abode on the grounds).
Howie (aka "Hoss") descends in a dark business suit, and is, of
course, perfect in appearance.
Facing time pressure (the Clone has to sound like a "country clubber"
by morning), Jenna goes the "how now brown cow" and "quick brown fox"
routes, and quickly becomes exasperated. She suddenly storms out,
instructing the guy to "study the material and practice sounding like
me". Howie (repeating the phrases post-Jenna departure): "...damn; I
hate _both_ these animals...". :)

   Spaulding Enterprises.
Alan Michael finally responds to Nick's bazillion phone messages, and
makes a command appearance. The Nick-ster wants to talk "shared power"
with Doggie Daddy, and asks Augie Doggy to set up a meeting.
AM doesn't go for it, and the conversation becomes heated. Nick warns
his cousin to watch his back; Alan might suddenly go buck-wylde, and in
event of an emergency, might actually make his own son his "fall-guy".

   Doris' Roadhouse.
Tangie receives a huge bouquet of roses from Alan (Doris is
impressed: "...if he has a brother - send him my way!"). The
accompanying card reads (Alan voice-over):
"To my lovely Elsa, The White Swan".

Alan Michael shows up, kisses T's hand and anounces (in reference to
the meeting with his cousin) that he's tired of having to deal with
"alien life forms masquerading as family memebers". :))
Before their convo can turn romantic, Doris walks up with another
bunch of roses.
Alan Michael: Who's sending you flowers??"
Alan transports in right behind the flowers: "I am."
Seems they're, um, in thanks for the piece she did on him in the
Springfield Journal. [Yeahright.] It also seems that T decided to hand
out the first bunch to the customers as an, um, "promotional gesture".
   [Overture declined, Big A. :)]

Alan stays for a beer and a snack, and AM expresses displeasure about
not being included in the total loop; he sees it as a question of trust:
"I just want to be a player - let me know what's going on." Alan
promises AM that he will be included in all future planning.
Alan Michael leaves for a moment, and Alan and Tangie are left alone.
T warns the Big A not to send any more flowers, and he, in turn, presses
for an indication of her "intentions" toward his son. ;)
AM returns and on the way out asks his father if he likes Tangie.
Alan: "Oh, yes; I like her, son. I like her a LOT." [;))]

   Cedars.
Josh, Henry, Bill, Vanessa, Blake, Jet, Matt, David and Ross are all
present, waiting for definitive info on Dylan's condition.
On the side of a corridor near Dylan's ER room, Ed confesses to Ross
that he "lost" a night en route to Carl's promotion party --- Blackout
City. Purchased the bottle of scotch (gift), pulled over to look at
it... Woke up in the morning at home, in bed, w/a bump on his head.
Doesn't even remember taking a drink. One thing for sure: he didn't make
it to the party (Carl strolls up and remarks he's sorry Ed missed it).

[Matt gets handshakes and apologies from Josh and Dave for the
hassle they put him through over the false hijacking charge. Mindy
transports in, shaking, and rushes to Van's arms for a comfort hug.]

Eve calls in a neurosurgeon, and minutes later announces to the
family that Dylan has at least temporary damage to his optic nerves and
cannot see.
Nick arrives and is brought up to speed.
Jet rushes to Dylan's side, and begins to cry. Tears detected, he
comforts her, promising they'll cope.
Ed begins to tell Eve about the Blackout Night (overheard by Matt -
"...I don't know what condition I arrived home in..."), but their convo
is broken off when she's called to duty.
[Jenna arrives in support of Vanessa, and decides to take
Van's locket in for minor repairs (a locket which, of
course, was a gift from Jenna (and "bugged" by Alan).]

MRI shows cranial bleeding in Dylan, and there are two scenarios: 1)
no operation and Dylan survives, but permanently blinded 2) they
operate to eliminate pressure, which may or may not restore sight, and
carries a mortality factor.
No decision to be made on the family's part. Dylan opted for surgery,
and was being prepped as the information was being delivered to them.

   Meanwhile...

Ed rushes to an AA meeting.

Bridget rushes to the hospital chapel to plead for intercession from
God. When David arrives, she breaks down in his arms, sobbing
uncontrollably.

Jenna prepares to leave Cedars, but stands quickly and drops
Vanessa's locket --- revealing the micro listening device hidden inside!
   Cliffhanger!

Notes
-----

(1)
Jenna-substitute Claire Beckman also played Erica Kane's sister
"Silver" on All My Children. Nothing against the actress, but this wuss
is no "Jenna". Might have been more effective (at least from a humor
perspective) to put a Fiona Hutchison mask on Claire, and _then_ put her
through the paces. ;)

(2)
I wasn't exactly in an Update mood this outing. Why? Just saw Quentin
Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" Last night.
His "True Romance" was innovating, the acting was 1st caliber, but
due to all the hype surrounding PF I wasn't expecting repeat excellence.
Bzzzt. There's a thread in rec.arts.movies, "Is Tarantino Really All
That??". In a word, yes. :)
The dialog is (again) complex and riveting, as are the performances:
there simply are no dogs in this film. Bruce Willis is all that, John
Travolta is all that, Uma Thurman is all that...and Samuel Jackson is
REALLY all that!
[...well, ok...Quentin makes a cameo appearance, and, um,
is obviously no Olivier...but I'm willing to let that
    one slide. :)]

In Pulp Fiction, QT has almost perfected (if not invented) the
"Mobius Strip" style of filmmaking. There are twists and turns, but they
dissolve into seamlessness. You get on his roller-coaster, and you don't
get off, even after you've left the theater.
Important (social and moral) messages are delivered, but the lack of
sugar-coating drives them home with great, great force.
I'd have to honestly say the violence present is, at times, shocking,
but is also judiciously used. [!]
[The problem will come in the form of "wanna-bes" trying to
imitate the style by incorporating hyper-scenes into their
flicks, but with no understanding of resonance or linkage.]

QT is going to draw extraordinarily diverse crowds with this effort,
and most will leave the theater "hipper" --- if not actually more
literate --- as a result of the experience. [!]
                     ____
   Don't be this: |____| .
   See Pulp Fiction.
You can probably bank that the GL writers have. :)
