			Guiding Light Update

				for

			Tuesday, November 1

===============================================================================

Vanessa and Alex:

We hear a very loud ticking clock [suggesting some kind of time
running out thing, not a bomb, i believe]. They sit down at a fine
breakfast table spread, and Vanessa acts completely paranoid. Blake comes
in thrilled with the world and the morning, and joins the two women dressed
in black [figuratively speaking, that is, Vanessa is in red and Alex in white].
Blake coos about what a comfortable life it is here: satin sheets and chocolates
on the bed, etc. She asks "What little treat did Alan bring U 2 last night?"

Nick and Mindy:

Mindy shares a dream of their future happiness together. Nick distances
himself from her. Fletcher enters unshaven and disheveled. Nick chases Mindy
out of the room, and asks Fletcher to help him take on Alan.

Michelle and Ed:

Michelle tries to wake up the old man. It's not an easy thing to
accomplish. She has coffee ready for him. She asks him when he got home, and
it's apparent from his expression that he has no idea.

Bridget and Frank at Company:

Bridget is worried about Dylan. She has no idea where he is, and she's
checked everywhere.

Cedars:

We see tremendous amounts of activity in ER, as a body on a stretcher
is rolled in. We cut to Eve examining the body, who then exclaims "Why, it's
Dylan Lewis!"

Michelle and Ed:

Ed tries to pull himself out of bed, but he can't. He falls back in.
Michelle asks him if he's okay. "You seem kinda out of it, Dad. What's wrong
with your head?" He says it's just a bump, and to get out of this "grilling"
he asks her a few questions about her night. She and Eve waited until midnight
for him, and then they went to bed. Eve left in the morning, and took his
car to work. Ed calls Cedars and finds out about the hit and run. His face
registers a little recognition.

David and Frank and Bridget:

Gabriella walks downstairs, and Bridget seeing her, lunges out of
her seat with a hearty "Let me kill her". Frank and David hold her back, and
Frank says they need to keep pretending for awhile. David realizes that means
he has to go talk to her, and he chokes back his bile. Matt stumbles in, and
Bridget tackles him.

Gabriella is working the bar. She asks David if he wants to go to the
movies, and when he is less than thrilled, she asks him to do whatever he wants
to do. Then she spots Matt, and is shocked that he has returned. David says
that oh he forgot to tell her, Matt's innocent. Someone else is in with the
hijackers. Enter Josh who lets the crew in on the Dylan news. Bridget knew
the moment he walked in.

Blake, Alex, and Vanessa:

Alex wonders why Blake is acting like "Mary Poppins on happy dust".
Blake shares her feelings: she no longer fears the Bogey man. He's just another
man. Maybe he has chilled out after five years in jail. She says a little
something trivial about Nick, but Alex hears her make an accusation about
Nick and Susan. Alex gets hold of herself, and insists that no one sign over
anything to Alan. Blake agrees, but Vanessa jumps out of her seat, dying to get
to land. She hears Matt's voice and a cacophony of her own "Yes"es. This goes
on until the yacht comes into the harbor. Alex wonders "what in hell Alan
has planned for us on land?" Blake says nonchalantly, "What can he do?" Alex
and Vanessa don't look too confident.

Alan and Susan:

Alan decides that its time to put the thumbscrews to little Ms
Marler.

Nick and Fletcher:

Nick insists on Fletcher keeping their plans secret. He tells Fletcher
the whole story of the set up. He describes Susan as a "beautiful young
woman". Fletcher wants to know who saved Nick's ass, but Nick is hesitant
to share that with him [I have no idea why, since the answer could very well
have just been Buzz]. Fletcher comments that not too long ago, Alex would
have gone to him.

What Nick would really like is for Fletcher to find out if Susan
is really dead. And then, he wants Fletcher to get inside Alan's head for
him. He can't just sit around, but he doesn't know Alan well enough to deal
with this himself. Fletcher points out that the person who knows Alan best
lives in this house with Nicky, but Nick doesn't think she can deal with it;
she can't be objective. Fletcher is insensed with more of this Spaulding
secrecy. He's disappointed to see Nick turning into one of them. But Nick
bribes Fletcher into doing it as a newspaperman, and Fletcher buys it--
"still a newsman at heart" he says. However, Fletcher thinks Nick is making
a big mistake in not telling Mindy. But he promises he won't tell her, and
as he begins to tell Nick some big warning about this whole "game", Mindy
joins them. She tells them about Alex's abscence. She and Fletch exit, looking
for some clues, and Nick rubs his chin. Alex comes in a back way, tape in hand.

Ross at Company:

Sid joins Ross at his breakfast table. "What do you want, Sid?" Sid
apologizes for "ruffling [Ross's] feathers". Ross mutters something about
ethics and professional courtesy. Sid says he respects Ross more than any
man he knows, and wants to straighten out their conflict. He thinks it would
be a great idea for Ross to help Vanessa with Family Friends, that maybe it
would bring them closer to resolution. He makes a comment ending with
"Quid Quo Pro" and Ross accuses him of being Hannibal Lecter [not really, but
close]. Sid offers him his hand, and Ross takes it. He calls Sid, "Sidney".
But he says the guy he really likes is the one who had "not only a passion
for the law, but for the truth." Sid looks a little guilty, but then pushes
Ross for a donation to Family Friends. Ross agrees and writes him a check.
Blake comes running in and grabs Ross, as Sid leaves. They say in unison
"You're not gonna believe what happened to me last night."

Cedars:

Ed is looking in on Dylan. Bridget runs in and Ed grabs her before
she can bust the doors down. Gabriella, David, Josh, Frank, and Matt come in
after her. Bridget is screaming about the hijackers and what they've done
to Dylan. She pleas for help from David. He decides to find Detective Cutter
and goes to the door. Gabriella stops him, explaining that she had to come
[though I wonder what means of transportation she used, if David didn't drive
her]. David looks at her with unbridled hatred and leaves.

Michelle and Bill come in, and Ed tells Bill that Dylan won't die.
He tries to get them to go home, but no luck. He has more luck getting them
to go get coffee. Eve comes out of ER, and Bridget jumps on her. But Eve
won't let her go in. The camera focuses in on Bridget's eyes, and we cut to
a scene of Dylan surrounded by doctors and nurses. The staff disappears, and
Bridget's astral self joins Dylan. [This reminds me of a poll I saw the other
day about superstitious people in today's society. It said that over 50% of
people "believe in" Deja Vu. What does it mean to "believe in" Deja Vu? I mean,
it's not an occurrence but a feeling. Does it mean "have you ever experienced
Deja Vu" or "do you believe some people experience Deja Vu"? Or what? I can't
understand how someone could not believe in it, even if they themselves hadn't
ever felt it. Sorry, but it really bugs me.] She tells Dylan that she loves
him and that she won't let anyone hurt him [too late, Bridget].

Blake and Ross:

Both of them tell their respective tales a little at a time. They
realize that neither one of them made it home last night. Ross tells a little
of his story, and they get into a fight about the worth of boxing. She tells
him about her victory over Alan, "the big pussycat". Ross isn't convinced.
"This time he was nice, next time he might feel like blowing up your car."
But nothing can throw Blake's confidence: "I know I have his number now,"
she gloats. "Now I know you're in trouble."

Nick and Alex:

Alex shows Nick the videotape. He's angry, but Alex doesn't care
what really happened [I'm unclear whether she believe Nick and Susan messed
around or not]. He puts in the tape, and Alex leaves. Surprise! Mindy walks
in while he's watching the tape, but she doesn't see anything. Lies upon
lies he drops on her. Alex comes back and Mindy yells at her for worrying them.
Alex tells a few little white lies herself, and kicks Mindy out of the room.
She and Fletcher have a "race" to see Ginger and Donna. Nick again wonders
if he should be straight with Mindy, but Alex guilts him into not telling her,
without actually insisting that he keep it from her, just like Alan's methods
with Tangie.

Alan and Sid:

Alan is very pleased with Sid. He'll get a phone call when Alan needs
him. He kicks Sid out the door with a "you're a very bright young man".
Then he turns to Susan and says "Now we have this. You know what to do."

Cedars:

Vanessa joins the crowd. She sits with Bridget and assures her
everything will be all right. In saunters Matt and he and Vanessa exchange
greetings. Ed comes out and Bridget pounces on him. He tells her that they
are "prepping him for a Catscan (?), he's not going to die". Meanwhile,
Vanessa tells Matt about the tape of their lovemaking. He says "I'll kill
him, he can't get away with this." He is then going to tell her about his
bizzare evening, when Michelle starts to slobber on him. We cut too Frank
and Josh who are worried about David.

David, Cutter, and Frank:

David tells Cutter all about Gabriella. He wants Cutter to arrest
her now. Frank points out that they have no proof, other than a tattoo, and
no one has any evidence linking the hijackers to Dylan's hit and run. Cutter
agrees.

The press bustles in, and Ed and Eve discuss who will handle them.
Ed wonders why she took his car, and Eve's answer shows that she know something
[though just what, I have no clue. Pretty sure she knows he was drunk, but why
did she take his car. She says that her car "sounded funny"]. Ed decides to
talk to the press, and he hurls mighty invectives at the driver of the hit
and run. He calls them cowards and such. Everyone looks at him strangely.

Meanwhile, David realizes that Gabby is gone.

Alex and Fletch:

Alex thanks Fletcher for being a good friend to Nick. "We go way
back," he says. She says that they do too, and "I miss you being here".
"I really did love you, you know," Fletcher repsonds. He still does. "But
nothing has changed." He promises to help them, but from a distance.

Blake and Ross:

Blake says he's right, and she agrees to call him before she deals
with Alan next time. Ross dreams of cutting their ties to the Spauldings and
going on their merry way, but Blake reminds him of where he gets his money, and
he returns to earth. She drops into his lap, and mauls him.

Susan and Alan:

Susan walks in very pleased with herself. "You're not going to
believe what I found." We see a pair of immensely tacky polyester pants and
a pair of pointy cowboy boots.

Nick and Mindy:

He continues to lie to her. She is suspicious about the Bahamas, and
he tells her "it just didn't go well". She looks completely unconvinced and
depressed, but she says "ok" and leaves. He joins Alex and tells her that he
is tired of playing her and Alan's game by their rules. He thinks it's time
to start insisting on some rules of his own.

Cedars:

David goes to find Gabby, and the docs roll Dylan out of ER. The
camera focuses on Ed's guilty expression.

Alan and Susan and the mystery sleazeball:

The camera works its way up, and we see gold chains and other
unmentionable fashion crimes. Finally we see a face with a cheesy mustache,
and realize that the face is just like Ross Marler's. Uh oh.
