It's morning in Springfield. Most everyone has been up all night, and
none of them, save Phillip & Annie, have bothered to change clothes...

HARLEY'S APT: Harley tries to figure out why Jenna is so upset. Jenna
says she's pregnant & Buzz is missing--isn't that enough? Harley tries
to reassure her with police statistics, saying most missing people
turn up within the first 48 hours, but Jenna takes no comfort from
this. Phillip walks in without even knocking. [Does he have his own
key already?] He heard about Buzz from Eleni, so he came right over.
Harley says everything will be fine & he should leave. Jenna doesn't
believe it will all be fine. Buzz could be dead for all they know.

BAUER CABIN: Buzz asks Nola who "Jenna" is & why Nola was talking
about her. His head is killing him. He doesn't remember anything she
told him last night. She fills him in about falling down the stairs &
banging his head, blaming herself for it all. Buzz remembers one thing
from last night--Nola said she loved him.

JESSUP FARMHOUSE: Dinah fumes because her mother is killing herself
with an ill-advised pregnancy, while her fiance didn't bother to come
home last night. She decides if he isn't dead, he has some serious
`splaining to do.

LEWIS OIL: Hart suggests that Cassie call Tammie back. Cassie doesn't
think that's a good idea right now. The only reason she stole the
money was because she wanted to be with her daughter. Hart says she
now has him to help her. She doesn't think that's a good idea either.
What about Dinah, not to mention the dangerous people she's working
for? She doesn't want him to get in any trouble. Hart asks if they'll
break his legs. Cassie says it'd be a lot easier if they were just
gangsters, but they're not. Sooner or later, says Hart, she's going to
have to tell him who these people are. She refuses, saying they're
sick & crazy. The last time she tried to cross them, she got drunk &
stripping on a pool table. But Hart rescued her, & here he is again on
his white horse. Actually, says Hart, he took the pickup.

Billy bellows for Wanda from the outer office & a wave of fear comes
over Cassie. The safe is still open.

SPAULDING MANSION/ANNIE'S ROOM: Alan & Annie return from Cross Creek.
Annie is dressed in a smart, corporate outfit, with her hair swept up
& looking blonder than ever. [Where did she get those clothes? I don't
recall Reva giving her a chance to pack before snatching her.] Alan
encourages Annie to rest, but she says she's fine & has a million
things to do. Alan reminds her that she just got out of the hospital
after nearly dying. Annie doesn't want to take it easy because she has
big plans. She wants to talk about her stock that Alan is supposed to
transfer to her. She wants to know when it's going to happen. Soon,
evades Alan. Annie presses him & he says he will have his people take
care of it. He wants to check on Cassie, but Annie says she'll take
care of it. She reminds him that they are supposed to be equal
partners now, and she thinks they will work "sho well" together.

LEWIS OIL: Cassie panics. Hart tells her to take care of the safe
while he deals with Billy. Cassie closes the safe before Billy enters
his office. Hart tells Billy he came by to pick up the contracts, &
luckily Cassie was there to help him. His business concluded, Hart
turns to go. Cassie mentions that she spent the whole night in the
office & crashed on the couch. She grabs the contracts from Billy's
desk & follows Hart out the door with them.

Cassie thanks Hart. He tells her to tell her people whatever she has
to, & he'll call her soon. He leaves. Cassie's phone rings. It's
Annie. She asks about Cassie's latest date with Billy. She hopes they
made out OK. Actually, she hopes they did a lot more than make out.
And for Cassie's sake, she hopes Billy is as good in bed as his
brother Josh. [Why don't you ask Reva that question, Annie?]

Billy exits his office & walks past Cassie's desk. Annie still wants
the answer to her question.

REVA & JOSH'S HOUSE: Josh arrives home from Cross Creek & Reva is
thrilled to see him. She asks what took him so long. Josh says things
took longer than he thought. He asks about the kids & Wanda. Reva asks
him what's wrong. She can tell he's not telling her something. Josh
admits that Annie came busting into his life again.

LEWIS OIL: Because Billy is nearby, Cassie speaks to Annie as though
on a business call, but gets across the message that she slept with
Billy. Annie is pleased with Cassie's answer. Cassie thanks her for
calling. Annie reminds her that she's only a phone call away, as is
Tammie. Billy asks her if there's some trouble. No, replies Cassie.

SPAULDING MANSION: Annie is on Cloud 9 as she gives Alan the good news
that everything's going as planned. She wonders delightedly which Josh
should lose first--his career or his marriage. Alan is happy to see
Annie so optimistic. Annie says she's never felt so powerful in her
life. To Alan, she seems almost manic. Annie takes this as a slap at
her mental health. Alan just wants to talk, because he's concerned.
Alan tells Annie he loves her, but he's not sure she feels the same
way. "You should have thought about that before you paid off Fran to
testify against me in court," replies Annie.

BAUER CABIN: The only thing Buzz can remember is Nola saying she loved
him. "Oh Buzz," she sighs. He asks why she keeps saying "Buzz." She
reminds him that it's his name. He thinks it's stupid. He wants to
know where they are, & asks her to help him put everything together.
She says they're in a cabin outside Springfield, the town where he
lives. He doesn't recognize Springfield any more than he recognizes
his own hands. Nola takes one of his hands in hers & says his hands
are strong and very hard-working, and gentle. Buzz asks what they mean
to each other. "We're friends," says Nola. Buzz wants to know more
about her saying she loved him. She is evasive; there are many kinds
of love. Buzz asks if they're important to each other, & if Nola meant
it when she said she loved him. Nola says she meant every word.

HARLEY'S APT: Jenna thinks that Buzz would never be gone so long
without contacting them unless something was wrong. [This, about a man
who once disappeared for 20 years?] Jenna asks for some time alone.
Phillip asks Harley to talk to him out in the hall.

Phillip wants to know why Harley didn't let him know what was going
on. She says she was going to, when she had a chance. Phillip says he
might be able to help by pulling some strings. Harley reminds him that
she's an ex-cop & Frank's a current cop, which gives the Coopers as
least as much clout as the Spauldings in terms of locating Buzz.
Phillip says he can still help. Harley says Jenna is scared to death.
Phillip thinks Harley is too. She admits she is, but says she can't
let it out, because of Jenna.

Phillip doesn't see why Jenna's situation is any different than
Harley's, so Harley whispers that Jenna'a pregnant & Buzz doesn't know
yet. Poor Jenna is beating herself up because she hasn't told him &
now she may never get the chance, since Buzz didn't come home last
night. Who's to say Jenna isn't right? Harley admits she was spouting
tons of fake statistics in an attempt to calm Jenna down. Phillip says
Buzz could come walking through the door any second. Harley can feel
that he won't. She knows something is really wrong. Phillip says she
can't know this. Harley is terrified that her father has deserted her
again. Phillip promises that they'll find Buzz & bring him home. He
gives her a big, comforting hug.

SPAULDING MANSION: Annie says Alan hurt her very deeply by using Fran
against her. Alan says they went through all of that at Cross Creek.
He gave her the stocks, didn't he? "You can buy me things, but you
can't buy my trust," says Annie. Alan knows it will take time for
Annie to regain his trust. Annie thinks it will take more than that.
Alan can't expect to put a Band-Aid on the problem to make it go away.
Annie says she's not like Josh & Reva, who go around thinking
everything is OK because they say so. Alan says Josh & Reva are fools.
Annie says she used to be one too, because she used to believe
anything. She believed Josh. She believed Alan. Alan gets real close
to Annie & says she will believe in him & trust him again.

Annie says it will never be the same. Last night, she lost the part of
her that sacrificed for Josh & his kids, the part of her that believed
in Alan. But it's OK, because she has no illusions anymore. She knows
she won't be happy unless she puts herself first. "I am finally going
to get everything that I want."

JOSH & REVA'S: Having heard what happened at Cross Creek, Reva
declares Annie to be certifiable. Josh points out that Annie claims it
was an accident, not a suicide attempt. And he didn't have a whole lot
of choice but to save her. He adds that the reason he took so long to
get back was because he had to clean up the mess Annie made when she
trashed the place. He details the damage & admits that after seeing
it, he lost whatever remaining feelings of pity or sympathy he might
have had for Annie. It felt like she put a knife right into his chest.

Reva says they don't have to think about this anymore. Annie is out of
their lives. Josh reminds her that Annie is trying to take over Lewis
Oil & has kept Reva from finding her sister. Reva says it doesn't
matter because Annie can never have the one thing she really wants.
She hands Josh an envelope & he opens it. He can hardly believe his
divorce is final. Reva says they're finally free & hugs him.

JESSUP FARMHOUSE: Hart returns home. Dinah wants to know where he was
all night. She's really mad, especially because he wasn't there when
she needed to talk to him. Hart asks what happened. She refuses to
tell him anything until he tells her where he's been.

BAUER CABIN: Buzz asks about his relationship with Nola. She says
they're good friends. He asks why she didn't tell him that at first.
He starts to nod off, but Nola's not letting that happen again. She
decides she'll have to do the talking. Does he know he's Greek? He
must know it, somewhere inside him. And soon enough, he'll remember
everything. Buzz asks if she always talks so much. She admits she
sometimes loses control of her mouth. Buzz likes listening to her.

Nola gets Buzz some aspirin. He wants to know all about them & their
hopes & dreams. Nola says she has more hopes & dreams than he knows.
Buzz thinks Nola is a very good, very nice lady. Nola says pretty
soon, Buzz will remember everything--his family & his kids & his life.

HARLEY'S APT: Jenna is on the phone with Frank, asking if he's found
anything out about Buzz. Frank reports that Buzz hasn't been admitted
to any hospital in the area. Jenna tries to take this as good news.
She says she will feel much better once they find Buzz & begs him to
call her if he hears anything new. She hangs up & sits on the couch.
"Oh, Buzz, forgive me," she pleads.

HARLEY'S HALLWAY: Phillip & Harley are sitting on the floor in the
hallway, leaning against a wall. Phillip admits that when Eleni told
him what was going on, all he could think about was Harley, alone &
scared. Harley says she wasn't alone--Jenna was there. Phillip says
everyone puts up walls to try to protect themselves, but the
alternative is not caring, not feeling, & that's what they're scared
of. Harley doesn't want to be that kind of person. All Phillip wants
to do is make Harley feel better. He strokes her hair & kisses her.

REVA & JOSH'S: They drink champagne & toast to Josh's divorce. They
talk about setting a wedding date & throwing a divorce party. Josh
thinks they should never mention Annie's name again, because it gives
her too much power. Reva disagrees; Annie has no power. She can't
touch what they have in their hearts. It's way more powerful than
anything Annie can do. Josh is ready to spend the rest of his life
with Reva, the most special woman on earth. Kiss, kiss.

SPAULDING MANSION: Alan continues to prove that he's thinking with the
wrong brain when he tells Annie he has no problem with her putting
herself first. Annie wants him to be sure, because she doesn't want to
start anything she won't be happy finishing. She's been there & done
that. Alan knows that they have incredible power together. They're
honest, focused, & have clarity & purpose. He has what she needs &
vice versa. Annie agrees & hugs him.

Nettie arrives with an envelope for Annie. She opens it & finds the
divorce papers. Alan asks what she got, but all she says it that it
reminds her who she is & what she has to do. Where were they? They
return to their embrace.

JESSUP FARMHOUSE: Dinah won't even let Hart have a cup of coffee until
he comes clean. He says he prevented a robbery. Dinah is taken aback &
suddenly concerned. Was Hart in any danger? Did they have guns? Hart
says it turned out to be pretty harmless. She gives him a hug & asks
what happened. Hart says the robbers got away, but they didn't get any
money. Dinah figures Hart must have been at the police station all
night. He says he was doing what he had to do. Dinah apologizes for
jumping all over him & says he's a hero. She thinks it would make a
good story for WSPR. Hart says it really wasn't that big a deal & he's
a jerk for not calling her or leaving her a message. She tells him to
forget it. He asks why she wanted to talk to him last night.

Dinah admits that she didn't sleep well & was crying. She tells Hart
that Vanessa is pregnant, but it's not a good thing because her
disease could return & kill her. She's upset because Matt & Vanessa
are so caught up in the "miracle" that they refuse to see what could
happen, despite what the doctors have told them. She thinks Matt & Van
have lost their grip on reality. She asks if Hart thinks she's being
unreasonable. He doesn't think so, but says maybe she should give the
miracle thing a chance. Dinah figures that Vanessa being alive at all
is a miracle, and that probably fills her miracle quota. Hart feels
really badly that he wasn't there for Dinah. Dinah says it's all OK
now that he's there, but he doesn't want to know what she was thinking
a few hours ago.

LEWIS OIL: Cassie types away at her computer. Billy comes out with
some stuff for her to proofread & notices that she seems a little
jittery. She blames it on too much coffee. Billy thinks Hart is a
really nice guy & asks if he bothered Cassie by coming in so early
this morning. Cassie says it was no bother. Billy wonders if Cassie
would be interested in going out to a new Surf & Turf restaurant with
him. She says she'd love to. Billy seems surprised. She asks if he
hasn't been having a good time. He says he has. As an aside, he
mentions that Hart has a fiancee. Cassie says she knows. Billy heads
back into his office.

Cassie is disgusted with herself for alienating her daughter, leading
Billy on, and getting mixed up with Alan & Annie. She thinks that no
matter what Hart does, it won't help.

SPAULDING MANSION: Alan plants kisses on Annie's neck as he tells her
how perfect & beautiful she is. Smart, too, coaches Annie. Alan says
the smartest thing she ever did was to return to him, because together
they can have it all. Annie turns to Alan, & suddenly he gets the
feeling she doesn't really want to make love with him. She insists
that she does, but Alan senses that something has changed.

Alan pulls away, saying things feel different. Annie says she is
different, but she's not playing games with him. She takes off her
jacket & says she's dying to make love with him. "I'll always be here
for you," she promises. Alan is taken in & leans over her on the bed.
Annie stares over his shoulder, thoughts clicking away in her busy
little manic mind.

JOSH & REVA'S: The divorce papers sit on a table near the champagne
glasses. Somehow, Josh & Reva have managed to lose their clothes &
cover themselves in a blanket on the couch, where they are apparently
recovering from a recent close encounter. Reva says every time Josh
makes love with her, she falls in love all over again. This
effectively ends Josh's refractory period.

HARLEY'S HALLWAY: Phillip & Harley have progressed from kissing on the
floor to kissing in an upright position. Harley says it's insane that
she's making out with Phillip in the hallway while her father is
missing & Jenna is beside herself. Phillip hugs her & says she's
allowed to feel better for a little bit. She revels in this for a
minute, then suggests returning to check on Jenna.

Inside, Harley suggests to Jenna that they go to the police station.
Jenna says Frank already told her there was nothing new. Harley
suggests that they go get Coop, but Jenna doesn't want him to see her
like this & says he's very happy with Eleni. Besides, Buzz might call
& she wouldn't want to miss that. Harley decides that she & Phillip
will go to the police station. Phillip suggests that Jenna try to get
some rest. Harley agrees with this. She gets Jenna to lie down on the
couch & covers her with a blanket before leaving with Phillip.

Alone, Jenna dreams that Jeffrey has shown up. He's wearing a gray
uniform & taunts Jenna about missing him. She tells him to stay away,
but he gets right up close & personal. He wraps his arms around her &
says she can't get rid of him as she cries "No, no, no!"

Jenna wakes up & grabs the phone. She calls Vanessa & asks her to come
over right away. "I have to tell you something," she says urgently.

BAUER CABIN: Nola tends the fire & brings Buzz a cup of tea. She
brushes his hair back, and when she stops, he wishes she hadn't
stopped. Nola says she has to tell him about the woman in his life.
Buzz isn't ready for this just yet. Maybe tomorrow or the next day.
Right now, he feels like he just walked out of one life & into
another, and the only connection is Nola. He says he's been through a
lot & doesn't want to think about things yet. Nola urges him to rest.
Buzz makes room on the bed & asks her to stay with him. Reluctantly,
she crawls into bed beside him & curls up to his back as the screen
fades to black.
