-----------------------------GUIDING LIGHT UPDATE---------------------------
-------------------------------OCTOBER 30, 1995-----------------------------
-----------------"MATING CALL OF THE MALE MANIPULATORS" DAY-----------------

ROGINAH'S PAD

Roger is smashing everthign on a table in the bedroom while Dinah sits on
the bed in shock. "Stop it Roger. You're scaring me. Stop it."
He pulverizes the breakfast dishes with the phone receiver. It's like
he's not even Roger, more like a robot.

DINER

Frank and Nell (or is that Frank and Joe, the Hardy boys?) tell Cutter
that have a lead on who killed the rapist. They say they have a suspect.
Marion walks into the diner and sits down at the counted.
The Hardy boys point out Marion and name her as the suspect. Cutter is
skeptical: "Marion Crane? You've got to be kidding."

CEDARS HOSPITAL

Annie's still taking information on Abigail in the receptio area. Reva
peeks in from the doorway as Josh comes down the hall. She sees him and
ducks back outside. She has another memory flash, this time of standing
in a field with him, then of lying down in the field next to him on a
blanket.

-----------------------ROLL LIGHTHOUSE-------------------------------

[LemonFreshAmish Reva for LemonFreshJoy dishwashing liquid: "I do not
know of any cleanser more tough on grease, yet so gentle on my hands."]

CEDARS

Josh is telling Ed how happy he and Annie are. Reva's watching through
the door. Ed jokes "you happy people are hard to be around" and
congratulates Josh on reconciling with Annie.
Charlotte explains to a doctor that Abigail has a hard time reading a
stranger's lips and that they communicate through a unique sign language
system. Charlotte offers to interpret for the doctor.
The doctor (some new, totally unknown, guy) checks her eyes (for what?)
and orders some tests, including a CAT scan to rule out the possibility
of a tumor. (Say it like Schwarzennegger -- "It's not a tumah.")
Alan comes in and sees them. He pulls Charlotte aside. He's upset because
they came to Cedars without him after he told them not to leave the house.
She explains about Abigail's headache. He wants to know where Reva is.
Charlotte doesn't know where she went, but assumes she'll be back soon
since she wouldn't leave Abigail for long in a strange place.
Alan goes looking for Reva. Abigail wants to know where Rebecca went.
Annie recognizes the name and realizes that she met Abigail in Goshen.

ROGINAH'S PAD

Rog continues to smash stuff. Dinah, nearly hysterical, demands to know
what's the matter with him.
He walks over to the bed and looms over her. He points his finger at her
threateningly.
"You had no right going behind my back."
"All I did was call off the bounty hunter you had sicced on your son, and
I had a damned good reason for doing it."
"If you learn nothing else from our association, learn this," He leans
down and gets in her face. He's got his hand balled in a fist now. Not
exactly like he's going to hit her, but it's right in front of her face
and very intimidating. "If you're not with me, you're against me, you're
my enemy, and trust me, you don't want me for a enemy, not ever." He
shakes his fist at her.
Then he whirls around and heads for the door, shoving stuff aside as he
goes. Dinah yells behind him. "Fine! Just go! Just don't come back here!
No one threatens me Roger, nobody! I don't care!"
He leaves. She stands in the middle of the bedroom looking at the mess.
She closes her eyes and puts her hand over her mouth like she may cry --
as much from fear as from sadness.

DINER

Cutter thinks Marion's an unlikely suspect: "The accountant from Spaulding?"
"Yea, well," Nell says, "That's her day job."
"You're saying this homely woman over here is moonlighting as a killer?"
The Hardy boys get Cutter to admit that she's certainly tall and strong
enough to have inflicted the wounds. They point out that her hair is the
color of the wig the killer wore.
"You think that's a wig?" Cutter asks.
"Well it looks like one to me." Nell answers. (Someone finally noticed!)
Frank want to just ask her about the wig. Nell thinks it would be better
for her to borrow Marion's hasirbrush. There're bound to be some broken
hairs in the bristles.
Cutter says that wouldn't prove anything. There are hundreds of those
wigs. They tell him aobut seeing Marion at the docks at the site of the
murder. (Leaving out the details of what they were doing there in the
first place.)

3M peruses a menu at the counter, but admits to Eleni that she's not
really hungry. She was really looking for A-M and Lucy. Eleni says they
don't always have lunch at the diner. 3M asks about Cutter. She says he's
very handsome. Eleni tells her he's available. 3M prods Eleni about what
Cutter, Frank, and Nell are discussing so seriously. Eleni doesn't know
anything except that Frank insisted Cutter meet them.
Marion walks over to the booth. She thanks Frank and Nell for helping her
the other night when she got lost. 3M says she hardly recognizes Nell,
who looked so different dressed as a hooker (a look that 3M thinks
doesn't really suit Nell).
Cutter catches on to what the Hardy boys were doing without permission
and asks to speak to them outside. They leave and 3M gloats to herself
"Oh, my. Was it something I said?"

[Well, we've seen Wendy Moniz in just about every commercial but Head &
Shoulders. Wonder if she has a problem with flakes?]

THE PARK

Holly's sitting on a bench reading baby info. Four kids run by playing
"Red Light, Green Light" (brings back memories :-) -- apparently for
Holly, too, since she's smiling at them.) They run off and Rog comes
around the corner. He's surprised to see her, but wants to sit down.
Actually, she's busy.
"Ah, baby pamphlets. So when is the blessed estimated time of arrival?
Fletcher's baby still making you sick?"
Holly thinks Rog looks as though he's been in a major fight (although he
hasn't a hair out of place or even a tiny bruise). He denies it but
thanks her for the concern. She's not concerned -- he can take care of
himself.
What makes her think he was in a fight?
"I recognize the old signs. You've got your hackles up. Did you hurt her?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You know what I'm talking about -- Dinah. Did you hurt her?"
"What do you think I am?"
"I know what you are that's why I asked. Did You Hurt Her?"
"Well Of Course Not! OK?"
"But you came close. Poor kid."
"Oh please. Save your sympathy and mind your own business for once in
your life."
"You know, I just wonder how long she's gonna put up with you. Is she
gonna wait as long as I did to save herself? Or is she going to take
EVERYBODY'S advice and run away from you as she can?"

BOARDING HOUSE

Dinah lets herself in to an empty kitchen. She notes with a crack in her
voice that the place is still the same. She sits down and tries not to
cry. Marcus comes in behind her.
"You don't look so good." he says quietly.
"Yeah, I guess I've been better."
"Look. If you want to tell me about it, I'll listen. But I want the whole
truth, ok? Not just some PG version."
She kind of smiles and winces, and admits that she doesn't know where to
start.
"Anywhere. The beginning, the middle, the end. But just make it real."
Dinah tries to change the subject by telling him that she used to live
there at the boardinghouse. Marcus can't imagine that, since he can barely
picture himelf there. She never really liked it there, but life was
definitely simpler. "All I had to worry about was trying to get out of
doing my chores or making sure that no one drank my water out of the
fridge" (or figuring out how to pay off some EuroPsycho who's threatening
to kidnap your baby brother :-) )
Marcus asks she's really doing there. He's not buying that it's just some
trip down memory lane.
"Something happened this morning" she tells him.
"I can see that."
"It my was fault, though, I mean I really brought it on. I just, I couldn't
imagine though that he would..."
"What did Roger do to you?"
"He didn't really do anything to me, um, I don't know."
Van busts in calling for Bridget. She notices that Dinah's been crying.
Dinah denies it.

CEDARS

An American Sign Language interpreter is trying to sign with Abigail, who
can't understand her. Charlotte explains again that she and Abigail use
their
own personal sign language. Neither of them has had any formal training
in sign. The interpreter doesn't think she can be much help (well, duh,
it's like a foreign language -- it's not as if all deaf people magically
communicate with the same signs. even bringing that woman in was just a
little patronizing to Abigail and Charlotte!)
Charlotte translates as Annie reminds Abigail how they met in Goshen.
Abigail remembers. She wants to know where Rick is.
Annie tells her he's in Mexico.
Annie asks about Rebecca. Alan butts in -- "Can't you catch up a little
later? Shouldn't Abigail be seeing a specialist now?"
"Abigail has an appointment, Mr. Spaulding." Annie answers in her best
put-'em-in-their-place-Nurse-Ratchett tone. She asks Sarah about REbecca
again. Sarah says she came with them and is around somewhere. Alan goes
to look for her.
He finds Reva outside, where she demands to know what's going on inside.
Alan says Abigail's doing fine and he wants to get Reva out of there. She
tells him she saw Joshua and she wants to tell him she's back -- right now.

[Some Marcus Williams wanna be in little dreds dances his way through a
Pringles commercial.]

HALFTIME

OUTSIDE THE DINER

Cutter's chewing out the Hardy boys and tells them they could be charged
with impersonating police officers (Chap 22 in their textbook).
Nell tries to make the argument that they're closer to police officers
than to civilians. Cutter says if they were police officers he'd have
their badges for running a private stakeout. They offer some lame
examples of how they did follow some procedures -- they were each others
backup on overlapping stakeouts (Chap 9 -- Night Surveillance).
Cutter had thought they were just doing random classroom speculation on
an unsolved homicide. Nell says they were, until now.
Frank thinks that, right or wrong, what counts is that they found Marion
Crane at the crime scene.
"Oh, I see. So she returned to the scene of the crime, just like in the
movies, huh Cooper?" Cutter smirks.
Frank knows they don't have enough info, but he reminds Cutter of how
nervous Marion got when they were talking with A-M and Lucy about the
stabbing. Cutter thinks that's understandable, given that Marion is a
rape victim. Frank suggests that Marion would rather kill than be raped
again. Nell pipes up that that makes sense to her.
Cutter doesn't care. His problem is that he has two cadets who've taken
on a case they had no right to take on. Nell agrees, but she at least
wants Cutter to consider that they could be right.

INSIDE THE DINER

Eleni serves 3M some hot tea. 3M asks where Nadine is. Eleni says she's away
"on the trip of a lifetime."
"Well good, she deserves it."
Eleni agrees, but admits that she misses Nadine, even her tarot cards and
fortune telling. She tells Marion that Nadine was pretty good at fortune
telling -- she used to have Nadine try to predict her future, until it
got too creepy. She hopes Nadine has stopped having visions. Marion says
she probably has.

OUTSIDE CEDARS HOSPITAL

Reva heads toward the door to go to Josh. Alan grabs her: "You agreed
you'd let me pave the way before you showed yourself to anyone."
"Well start pavin' Alan, 'cause I wanna see my kids and I wanna see 'em
now."

Same old song and dance --

	Verse 1 -- It'll scar the kids
Refrain -- I'm their mother, they'll wanna see me.

Bridge --Alan reminds Reva she promised not to do anything rash. That
was before she saw Joshua -- now she know he wouldn't do
		anything to hurt her.

Verse 2 -- Your mind's playing tricks on you
	Refrain -- (See Above)

Alan tells the truth (sorta) "If you walk in there you'll ruin everything
(but what does he mean by everything?)
He promises he'll find a way for her to see her kids, but he wants her to
go home. She has to go back through the hospital (why? They're already
outside -- this is bad blocking or something) He'll distract Josh while
she sneaks past.
Alan goes back inside. He starts talking to Ed and Josh, explaining that
he'll be paying Abigail's medical bills. He starts demanding "the best
care money can buy" in classic Sapulding fashion. JOsh notes that leaving
town didn't change Alan a bit.
Reva darts through the room behind Josh. He whips his head around as she
exists "Who was that?"

[Ooh, the Reva and Roger videos. I must admit I want them. Just $15.95
for the pair (plus shipping and handling, of course).]

BOARDINGHOUSE

Van wants to know what's going on so she can help Dinah. Dinah claims she
just came over because she heard Marcus had moved in and she wanted to
check on him.
Marcus wants Dinah to come clean and stop lying to them. She gives them a
lame story about some guy yelling at her because she cut him off in
traffic and how it really upset her, but nobody's buying it.
Van tells Dinah she looks sad, and she thinks Roger is to blame. Dinah
claims she and Rog are blissfully happy and then she bolts.

Van apologizes to Marcus for coming in when she did. Maybe if she hadn't,
Dinah would have opened up to Marcus. Marcus isn't sure that would have
happened. Van worries that Dinah is too proud to let her know things are
bad with Roger. Marcus is going to find out what Roger did to her.

PARK

Rog says Holly doesn''t know him as well as she thinks. She says she does
know him -- that's why she left him.
He claims she left just because of Alex's tricks.
She left him because she realized that he'd never change. He thinks
that's unfair -- they'd lived together for months and it worked. And she
almost begun to believe that the ivolence in him was dead, but it wasn't.
He admits he has a temper. She says she's talking about his rage, his
violence, for example how he nearly strangled Fletcher. He points out
that Fletcher attacked him.
Then she hits below the belt:
"Dinah wouldn't be the first woman you've attacked."
"Oh, boy. I was waiting for that. That is really low. That is ancient
history. I would never ever hurt another woman again. You know that."
"Not physically, but what about emotionally? I think you need to control
every person you say that you love. You'd strip Dinah of her spirit, her
independence."
"you don't know anything about our relationship."
"I know about ours. And I know you won't rest until you gain total
control of her."
Rog asks if that's what Holly told Dinah.

CEDARS

Josh is still asking about the woman who just wlaked behind him, but when
Ed and Alan just look at him like he's nuts, he drops it.
Ed heads down to Admissions to check on Abigail.
Alan congratulates Josh on his engagement and asks if the wedding soon.
Annie comes up to Josh and tells him she gets off soon. They make plans
to meet in the park and haave a picnic with the kids. Alan overhears, of
course.

ALAN'S PLACE

Reva stares at the phone, thinking about calling Josh. She begins to
daydream about Josh coming through the door and being happy that she's
home.

OUTSIDE THE DINER

Cutter admits that it's possible Marion did it, but says it's a pretty
big stretch. Frank claims it all fits.
"I'll tell you what fits -- you two are on 24-hour suspension effective
immediately."
Frank protests that Cutter's being unfair. Cutter answers that keeping
them on at the academy is more than fair. He also tells them not to go
anywhere near Marion.

INSIDE THE DINER

Eleni tells 3M about Nadine's visions -- the bloody candlesticks, the
roses, the earring.
As 3M remembers Nadine falling to the floor, she drops her tea cup.

PARK

Holly's not sorry for talknig to Dinah. Rog says she had no business
doing it. He clasims Holly only did it because she still cares about him,
not for Dinah.
"Get over yourself, Roger. I got over you."
"Never. I'll always be a part of you. There's nothing you can do about
it. You can marry whoever you want, but it'll always be you and me,
Holly. And you know it."
"You're in worse shape than I thought you were. Good-bye, Roger."
She leaves. He looks at the pamphlet she left behind.
"It should have been my baby."

ELSEWHERE IN THE PARK

Josh, Annie, and the kids play. Josh leaves to pick up food for the picnic.

ALAN'S PLACE

Alan comes in. Reva jumps on him (not literally, thank god) and demands
to know when she'll get to talk to her kids.
He says he didn't talk to Josh. But she can still see her kids, although
she can't talk to them. But at least she'll know that they're ok.
She thanks him. They leave for the park.

ROGINAH'S PAD

Dinah stares at the mess. "Well, it's gonna be one hell of an I-told-you-so."
She pulls out her suitcase and starts remembering all of the warnings
she got about Roger from Marcus, Van and Holly.
Knock on the door. She answers it. A guy leaning on the doorframe asks if
Roger Thorpe lives there. She says if this hasn't anything to do with his
son, Hart, she doesn't want to know about it. She slams the door in his face.

OUTSIDE THE DINER

Cutter calls Levy and askks him to run a background check on Marion --
and keep it just between them.

INSIDE THE DINER

Eleni mentions that Lucy has a follow up test. 3M looks surprised and
worried.

PARK

Reva and Alan watch Marah and Shayne playing of the jungle gym.

Well, that's it folks. Sorry this was so late getting out. I'll do better
next time. Promise :-)
