	BOARDINGHOUSE

David & Bridget are carving pumpkins for Halloween while Nola reads a
book. David wants to do scary decorations, but Nola thinks they
shouldn't because they have a 2-year-old in the house. She asks Bridget
when Peter is coming. Bridget is tired of explaining the situation
to Nola, it works for Vanessa & her & the baby & it's good for
everybody. Nola tells her it's not good for everybody, not the
grandfather, "I saw his eyes almost bug out of his head when Vanessa said
that he couldn't spend time with Peter." Bridget, "He showed up here
unannounced. You can't expect Vanessa to drop her whole life for him."
Nola, "That's not what that was about." Vanessa arrives with faux-Peter.

	THORPE PENTHOUSE

Dinah is eating breakfast in bed when Roger comes home. She asks where
he slept. Roger, "The Club, dear." Dinah asks why he didn'd phone. He
doesn't answer her. She doesn't think dumping champagne on him was a big
deal. She should be mad at him for walking out on her & leaving her a
lone at the country club to go see his grandson. She sits on his ties.
Roger, "You could learn alot from my grandson. He's much better behaved
in public than you are. Since you insist on acting like a 3-year-old,
I'll have to treat you like one."

Josh walks Annie to work & they talk about the wedding. He wants to get
married in a month, that will give him plenty of time. He's planning a
surprise wedding present.

Alan brings Reva, Abigail & her mother to a house he owns for business.
It's an ultra-modern house. Reva laughs when she sees it. Abigail & her
mother ask Reva if it seems like she's come home. Reva tells them that
so much has changed, but she came to see her children.

to worry about planning the wedding in a month, then goes to sign in. Josh
thanks Lillian for their talk & tells her that the wedding is on. Ed
asks Annie if Rick is home too. She tells him that Rick stayed in
Mexico to settle their divorce & to make the most out of Mexico. She
couldn't ask for a better friend. She came back with Josh to tell the
kids about their wedding. She's so luck to have a friend like Rick & she
got Josh back, "the man that I know I'm meant to be with."

	ALAN'S HOUSE

Reva wants to see her children now. Abigail wants to go to the hospital
to see Rick Bauer, but Alan refuses to take her. He made an appointment
with a specialist for the next day. He tells them to rest & goes to talk
to Josh.

	BOARDINGHOUSE

Vanessa gives faux-Peter to Bridget & warns her that he has a bad cough.
Nola tells them that saying no to Roger isn't going to put an end to this.
Vanessa tells her to stop, she'll manage Roger. She knows how to do it.
Nola is trying to warn her, but Matt arrives and tells her that they
don't need any warnings or advice. He leaves to meet with Josh about a
job. Nola asks what they're going to do about Halloween. Is Vanessa
going to put on half the makeup & costume while Bridget does the rest?
They laugh and tell her that they'll do it together. Nola goes to a
closet and an iron falls on her foot.

	THORPE PENTHOUSE

laughs because she can't tell when he is putting her on. He tells her
that she had her joke, but not to do it again. He kisses her.

Annie helps Nola onto a bed & goes to get a doctor. Nola tells David &
Bridget to leave. Ed comes in to treat Nola. Nola, "Get your filthy,
adulterous hand off my foot!"

Outside the room Lillian & Annie hear this and Annie asks Lillian what
Nola is blasting Ed about, Adultery? Lillian changes the subject to
Josh. Annie wants to know what Lillian said to him. She says it's not
important.

	ALAN'S HOUSE

The women are eating and ask Reva what it is. She tells them it's goose
liver, pate. Abigail has another bad headache. Reva doesn't think they
can wait to take her to a doctor, so she calls a taxi.

	SPAULDING MANSION

Alex sees Amanda's purse, starts snooping & finds Ross's card. She hears
Amanda coming, so she dumps the purse & pretends it was an accident.
Alex asks Amanda about Ross's card and wonders if Amanda thinks she is a
threat. Amanda, "Why should I think you are a threat simply because
you're trying to have your own brother declared mentally incompetent?"
Alex asks where she heard that. Amanda heard it straight from the
horse's mouth. Alex asks if she was eavesdropping. Amanda, "Well if I
hadn't, there's a darn good chance I'd end up in the deepest, darkest
dungeon you could find." Alex tells her that the conversation is over.
Amanda, "Is there no limit to how low you'll stoop?" Alex, "You are a
sad, rude young woman." Amanda calls her a lier for claiming to knock
over her purse while going through her things like a cheap crook. Alex
calls Amanda a cheap common crook for stealing the petty cash. Alan
arrives & tells them it warms his heart to see his sister and daughter
getting along so well.

Alex welcomes Alan back. Amanda says hello. He thinks she looks more
beautiful than he remembered, "time away from the family has agreed with
you too." He asks if his gift has caused any trouble, looks like he came
home in the nick of time. Alex tells him that he should take back his
stock, otherwise she would have been forced to do something she would
regret. Alan asks what she had planned. Alex tells Alan he has a lovely
daughter, but she can't expect to have a powerful position at Spaulding
after all these years. Alex will find her a comfortable job & an
appropriate title. Alan asks Amanda how that sits with her. Amanda
wants Alex to answer Alan's question first. Alan agrees. Alex says it
doesn't matter, she's just glad to have him home. Amanda, "Is that
because you're glad to see him or because it gets you off the hook. Now
you won't have to prove some crazy cult got control of Father's mind."
Alex says that Amanda overheard a conversation and misconstrued the whole
thing, but she's wildly off target. "Next time bring a tape recorder."
Amanda asks if Alex is denying that she was trying to declare Alan
mentally incompetent. Alex says yes & turns to Alan and tells him that
his daughter has changed, "The years away were not spent well, she's a
liar & a denier & if you think she'll give back your stock, you'll be
sadly mistaken." Amanda tells Alan that if he wants the stock, she'll
hand them over right now.

	THORPE PENTHOUSE

Dinah asks if she's forgiven. Roger tells her not to push it. She makes
life interesting, "but there are games & then there are games. And you
have to learn to tell the difference. There is a line you are never to
cross & you came very close with that stunt last night. Now you know
where the line is." Doorbell. Leo is at the door and tells Roger that
the private investigator was pulled off the search for Hart. Roger
didn't talk to the p.i., but Leo did and found out he was paid off.
Roger turns to Dinah.

the surprise. Reva comes in with Abigail & her mother. Annie leaves to
help a doctor.

	BOARDINGHOUSE

Vanessa is helping faux-Peter with a puzzle when the phone rings. She
leaves him on the chair. Marcus comes in and catches Peter as he dives
off the chair. Vanessa thanks him and wishes he could do that for Dinah,
catch her before she falls.

	THORPE PENTHOUSE

Dinah asks why Roger is looking at her like that. Roger, "You did it,
didn't you?" Dinah doesn't know what he's talking about. Roger, "You
paid off my p.i. that was looking for Hart." Dinah, "How could I do
that?" Leo, "By writing him a big fat check." Dinah, "Shut up Leo!"
Dinah pretends that she doesn't remember every one of Roger's business
associates that she's dealt with. Roger says that treating him like a
fool is not going to work. Dinah doesn't know what he's talking about.
He reaches to call the p.i. and find out who paid him off. Dinah admits
she did it. Roger tells Leo to leave. Roger, "How could you do that?"
Dinah, "I am so sick of hearing about your precious son Hart. What about
me? If he cared half as much about you as you do about him, he'd drop
you a postcard. Just forget about him. You have me. I'm crazy about
you, I'm your wife. That should be enough for you, but there's always
somebody else." Roger can't believe she'd do that. Dinah, "You walked
out on me and I wanted to hurt you the way you hurt me." Roger, "There's
no comparison. This is my son." Dinah, "I'm your wife and I deserve
some respect." Roger, "You've made a big mistake." Dinah tells him to
call the p.i. & hire him back. Then they can forget all this. Roger
calls him.

	CEDARS

Nola tells Ed to get away. Ed, "You don't want me to examine your
foot?" Nola, "I wouldn't let you touch me if I was bleeding to death &
you were the last doctor in the world!" Ed, "Do you have any idea how
out of line this is?" Nola, "You kill my sister & I'm out of line?" Ed,
"Nola, I'm sorry. Maybe you don't think I've suffered enough." Nola,
"Maybe." Ed starts to leave. Nola, "Hurting you is doing me a world of
good." Ed, "Then get it out of your system. I'm not apologizing. Not
to you, not to anyone." Nola, "So I'm suppose to just stop missing my
sister?" Ed, "I don't expect you to do that." Nola, "Fine. You go
ahead & you forget Maureen. I can't. Not now & not ever." Ed tells her
to let go of it and get on with her life.

Annie goes over to help Abigail (Reva has her back to Annie).

	SPAULDING MANSION

Amanda is serious about returning the stocks, there has been enough
strife in the family & she doesn't want to cause more. Alex wants Alan
to take her up on the offer. Alan wants Amanda to keep the stock, he has
no intention of taking it back. He came back to Springfield to bring a
girl to the hospital. Alan wants her to get the best medical treatment
& after that he doesn't know what he'll be doing, but it won't involve
Spaulding Enterprises. Alex asks about money. He says that he has money
tucked away. Alex tells him that he'll regret foisting his daughter on
her. Alex tells Amanda to leave the house. Alan says that this is his
house & he wants his daughter to stay in his half of the house. Amanda
agrees to follow his wishes. Alex leaves the room. Alan asks Amanda if
she knew he would turn down the shares. She did & she knows why her gave
her the shares--to punish his sister and son. Alan, "You seem to be
doing a pretty good job of that." Amanda, "I'll try to keep up the good
work."

	CAROUSEL

Matt says that fixing the carousel is a big job, but not too difficult.
Josh tells him he has a month to finish.

	CEDARS

Annie hears Nola yell in pain, so she goes into her room & gives the
paperwork for Abigail to someone else. Lillian is in the room with Ed.
Annie asks if she can help. Lillian "accidently" brushed against Nola's
foot. It's sprained, not broken. Ed gives Nola instructions about her
foot, she'll be on crutches for awhile. Annie offers to wrap the foot,
but Lillian insists on doing it. Nola yelps in pain.

Annie goes out to help Abigail. Reva hides behind a door so that Annie
won't see her.

	BOARDINGHOUSE

Vanessa puts Peter to bed and tells Marcus that at least he's safe.
Marcus asks if she thinks Dinah will take a big fall. She does. He has
the same problem. When they were in Europe she would go from one bind to
another, but she always bounced back. He hopes she can keep on
bouncing. Vanessa, "Away from Roger." Marcus tells her that they look
alike when they're thinking hard. Vanessa asks if he loves Dinah as much
as she does. Marcus, "Could be." Vanessa tells him about the dream she
had about Dinah, her spirit was broken. Marcus, "That's some vision."
Vanessa felt she would never get her back because of Roger.

	THORPE PENTHOUSE

Roger is upset. He was so close to finding Hart and now the trail is
cold. "My son is gone & I'm left with nothing! I warned you not to mess
with my life." He throws something at Dinah, and she cringes. "I warned
you not to cross the line." He holds the phone in his hand and stands
over Dinah.

	ALAN'S HOUSE

Alan calls out for Reva, but no one answers. He looks around and gets
mad when he realizes that they are gone.
