From: "LANE A. HATFIELD" <lhatfiel@osf1.gmu.edu>

I missed the first 15 minutes or so of the episode. It was pre-empted for
a news report of "The Million Man March."

According to my various sources, that 15 minutes included:

Marcus' bail hearing -- Judge Haverford, apparently an old friend of
Councilman Lockwood, decides Marus is a potential flight risk and puts
bail at $5,000. Ross, who is Marcus' lawyer, posts the bail himself.
The councilman goes off in a huff to the hospital to have his "injuries"
documented.

Josh tells Marah and Shayne that they're moving into their new house.
The kids mistakenly assume that means Josh and Annie have made up. Josh
has to tell them that they're wrong.

Reva decides she has to leave Goshen. She starts to leave, but Alan stops
her.

Alex and Hawk wake up in the car. He accuses her of getting fresh --
something about "Trying to get some nookie" and complains about his bum
leg some more. He wants workman's comp, threatens to complain to "Oprah"
-- it turns out he means "OSHA." (Really wish I'd seen that part!)

Rick and Annie decide to run for the border. They ask for time off to go
to Mexico and get a quickie divorce.

-------------------------GL Update Monday October 16-------------------------
--------------------"What Price Love (& Forgiveness) Day"--------------------

GOSHEN

Alan asks Reva where she was planning to go. She didn't really have a
plan. She was going to hitch a ride on the interstate. He's angry because
that's so dangerous.
She's been thinking about Springfield, maybe going back there. He thinks
it's a bad idea.
Reva doesn't remember doing anything good in Springfield. Alan realizes
that she still hasn't remembered a lot of things, including Marah and Shayne.

CHAMBERLAIN/LEWIS/?REARDON? HOUSE

Josh is packing the kids' toys. Marah and Shayne, especially Marah, don't
waant to move into the house without Annie. They yell at Josh and run up
the stairs, as Matt enters carrying Vanessa over the threshold.
Josh tells Mattessa they're moving out. Van makes the same assumtion the
kids did -- the Josh and Annie must have made up.

HOSPITAL

Rick, in sombrero and Mexican blanket, dances around the reception area
with various nurses. He wanders into an examining room, spouting Spanish
and looking for Annie.
"Anita-sita donde esta?"
Ed comes in and Rick, still talking in Spanish, asks Ed how he's doing
(someone who knows Spanish really ought to be updating this scene!) Ed
tellls Rick that Annie is downstairs filling out forms for vacation time
(you meean Annie doesn't just get to wander out of the hospital whenever
she feels like it?). Ed thinks Rick looks more ready for a honeymoon than
a divorce. "Silente, padre, silente. What Annie and I do is our
business." Ed just doesn't want Rick to get hurt. Rick is hoping this
might be a new beginning for him and Annie. He knnows it's risky and he
could get hurt. Ed actually turns down an intvitation to lecture someone
and tells Rick that he knows what he's doing and that Annie is worth
taking a risk for. Rick says he's going into this with his eyes wide open.

Annie comes in with her forms for Ed. He wishes them a safe trip -- and
advises "bottled water and a bottle of the pink stuff just in case" (does
Proctor & Gamble make Pepto?).
Rick asks Annie: "You think May-he-co is ready for two wild and crazy
hombres for pleasure?"
He reminisces about a triage seminar is Key West where they all but
destroyed a hotel room and the floor of a restaurant. She claims she
doesn't want to hear about it. "What're you gonna do? Divorce me?"

HALFTIME

[How about the 4 Musketeers in a commercial for 3 Musketeers?]

HOSPITAL

Annie is examining Councilman Lockwood who has, according to him,
"bruises, contusions and may be bleeding internally."
Annie seems doubtful. "how would you know? You're only a nurse. I want a
real doctor to treat me. And a photographer to document my injuries for a
court proceeding." He threatens to report Annie to her supervisor.
"That would be me" Rick says from the doorway. "A real doctor, straight
from the Republic of Trinidad."
Rick examines Lockwood, finds bruises on one jaw and says his expert
opinion is that he "ate somebody's fist."
"Anything else to show us?" Rick asks. "Ah-ah! Keep your pants on cowboy!"
"I am Councilman Lockwood and I demand respect!"
"That's gonna cost you extra."
Rick diagnoses Lockwood as suffering from "terminal pompousness," which
Annie dutifully writes down on the chart. Lockwood threatens to report
Rick to the chief of staff.
"Oh please don't do that. The chief of staff's my father and he might
take away my tongue depressors."
Lockwood marches out, mumbling that he'll just go to his personal
physician. He bumps into Dinah in the recpetion area who tries to
apologize for siding with Marcus. He doesn't believe her. She wants to
take him somewhere to "make a trade, something that'll give us what we
both want."

VAN'S HOUSE

Josh explains that he hasn't amde up with Annie. Van wnats Josh to give
it another chance. Matt asks to talk with Josh alone.
Matt reminds Josh that he and Van had problems too. But they worked them
out because they love each other. Josh just thought that Annie would be
different from Reva, who lied to him and hurt him.

GOSHEN

Reva wants to know if there are things about her life with Josh that she
doesn't remember. Alan sidesteps the question without telling her about
the kids. He wants her to let her past go.
She thinks she can't stay in Goshen because she feels like a fraud to the
people who took her in. Alan syas she should give them a chance to be a
good and forgiving as she claims they are. Tell them the truth.
Her chance arrivees when Abigail and her father, Max Bloom, knock on the
door. Alan lets them in. Reva is very uncomfortable with htem. She can't
look them in the eye. They were were about her because she didn't come to
worship last night. Then they found her cap at the lake. She tells them
(not too convincingly) that she's fine.
After they they, Reva tells Alan she has to leave Goshen. He asks where
she'd go. She suggests Springfield.

POLICE STATION

Amanda and Ross wiat for Marcus to be released on bail. Ross can't get
over how much Amanda has changed -- she used to be painfully shy but now
she seems very self-confident. She wants to know which he prefers.
"It's not a matter of which, but why."
"Real life happened."
"In Los Angelos?" (HA!)
She says the amanda Spaulding he knew couldn't have survived in LA.

Marcus enters yeeling at Cutter. He's still ahndcuffed and is spitting
mad about the bail hearing (or "lynch mob" as he calls it). Cutter tries
to explain that the judge wanted to insure that Marcus didn't run off to
Europe.
"What is with this town anyway?" Marcus asks. "Do they just everyone
who's different?"

in my favorite segue of the day...

cut to GOSHEN

Alan thinks returning to Springfield is a bad idea. Reva wonders if Josh
would even want to see her, to know that she's alive. Alan implies that
he wouldn't.

VAN'S HOUSE

Matt wants to know what Reva has to do with Jos hand Annie. Josh can't
let Annie do the same thing to him that Reva did. Matt thought that Reva
was the love of Josh's life. She was, but it was like loving fire --
intense heat, but he got burned again and again. Josh just can't put
himself through that again.

GOSHEN

"Joshua always forgave me. Always. And then I'd hurt him again... I don't
know how he could love stay with me, how he could love me ."
"Isn't that obvious?" Alan tells her."He couldn't."
Reva jumps to the conclusion that she drove off the bridge becasue Josh
didn't love her anymore.

VAN'S HOUSE

Annie's lies brought back all the pain of Reva's lies. Why should Josh go
through that again?
Matt knows why, but doesn't think Josh will like the answer.

ON A ROAD NEAR GOSHEN

Alex and Hawk are trying to fix the car. She tells him that "for an
overgrwon gorilla, you have the strength of a sea monkey."
He says she's "yappin' like a junkyard dog" and suggests she "nag the
fender loose."
Alex decides to try and get the fender unbent by using the tire iron for
elverage. She and Hawk grab onto the tire iron and try to push the fender
out. It doesn't work and they fall over onto their backs, where they see
Max and Abigail watching them.

[ The makers of the nutritional drink Boost claim no one knows how to
reverse the aging process. Guess they've never met a casting director.]

REGENCY HOTEL

Dinah has brought the councilman over to talk. He says she jsut brought
to plead for Marcus and if that didn't work she'd try to seduce him.
Afterward, he predicts, Roger would show up with a videocamera and they'd
blackmail him (not a bad scenario -- he should write for Bill Bell :)
Dinah says she's amazed -- he know exactly what she'd planned. He thinks
it's a shame it was a set up. "You're one vote I'd love to get." (How
many types of pig is this guy?)
Roger comes out. He wants to know if the Bell Flower Truckstop rigns a
bell with the councilman. Or the names Flame and Desiree? Dinah adds.
"Those records were sealed!" Lockwood answers.
Roger says he has frineds in high places, too.
Roginah give him a choice ("man and wife to convicted pervert") -- drop
the charges against Marcus or see himself, and his criminal record, on
WSPR's 6 o'clock news.

ON A ROAD NEAR GOSHEN

Alex tries (in her usual arrogant manner) to make conversation with
Abigail while Max and Hawk fix the car. Has she ever seen a tire changed
before? Won't it be a story to tell her grandchildren? Then Alex asks
about Alan and if Abigail has seen him. When Abigail doesn't answer Alex
asks "What is it? Are you deaf?"
Maax says yes, Abigail is deaf. Alex stammers and tries to apologize (she
yells an apology to Abigail -- like that's going to help.) Finally she
gives up and asks Max about where to find Alan.

VAN'S HOUSE

Matt points out that everything Josh has said is about himself, never
about Annie. He suggests putting himself in Annie's shoes for a while
(but, thankfully, not her little white skirt). And, Matt points out,
while the relationship with Reva hurt a lot, Josh got a lot of joy from
it, too.
Van comes back in and backs Matt up. "You pay a price for love, but it's
worth it." Josh just doesn't know how to get past the hurt. Van says if
he loves Annie, he will be able to forgive her.
Marah and Shayne come in apologize for their behavior earlier. Josh
decides to take Annie the birthday present Marah got for her.

POLICE STATION

Marcus grumps that he didn't ask Ross to pay his bail. Ross knows that,
but he trusts Marcus not to leave town because Marcus caes about Dinah.
Frank suggests that Marcus should be a little more friendly and grateful
to Ross. Marcus asks if Frank is "in training to be one of them."
Roginah enter with councilman in tow. Marcus asks if they've come for the
"hanging." Frank tries to get Marcus to back off and they end up staring
at each other nose to nose. Dinah interrupts to "cut through the
testosterone" and says Lockwood has something to say to Marcus.
Lockwood says he made a mistake and he wants to drop the charges. Cutter
and Frank take him to fill out some paperwork.
Ross tells Marcus "all's well that ends well" and that not everyone in
Springfield is as small-monded as Harrison Lockwood. Marcus seems
unconvinced, but thanks Ross anyway.
Amanda wants to take Ross out to celebrate, but he looks uncomfortable
and tells her he has too full a day to go.
Dinah can't figure out why no one is thanking her a nRoger. She tries to
tell Marcus about the dirt they found on Lockwood, but he just says
thanks, kisses her on the forehead, and bolts out the door (after Amanda
maybe?).

HOSPITAL

Josh comes in looking for Annie. Ed tells him she's about to leave on
vacation. Annie and Rick come in talking and laughing about Mexico. Annie
sees josh and stares.

GOSHEN

Alex and Hawk have found the house where Alan is "shacked up with some
yella-haired milkmaid named Rebecca." Alex walks toward the door.

Inside the house, Alan offers Reva an alternative to Goshen or
Springfield.
"What? Praying for another bout of amnesia?" (yes! that was the real Reva!)
No, going away with him.

That's it folks, see you in 3 weeks!
