Well, I guarantee that this won't be as good as Marni's wonderful Friday
updates but I'll try to put down what I remember about Friday...

THE SPAULDINGS

Nick is back from the Bahamas having been saved by Buzz Cooper. Nick
and Buzz enter the Spaulding mansion much to Alexandra's delight. She
thanks Buzz and tells him that she is in his debt--whatever he wants he
has from her! Buzz leaves with a big grin on his face.

Mindy comes in on the scene. She is overjoyed to see Nick. She asks
how the meeting went with the client who she mistakenly thinks is a man.
Nick is about to tell Melinda that it was a woman he met with. Alex
interrupts this and refers to the client as "him". She thus forces Nick to
not tell Mindy about the whole thing.

Alex suggests that Nick and Mindy go to the gala that night. Mindy is to
go dress up as befits "Mrs. Nick Spaulding". Mindy in her new air-headed
manner completely accepts this and trots off to dress up. This gives Alex
and Nick a chance to talk and Alex makes it clear that Nick is to keep all
this "murder" of the woman in the Bahamas a secret: it would only upset
Mindy. Nick genuinely seems to not like the idea of not telling Mindy
the whole story.

Roger arrives while Nick and Alex are talking. Nick is appalled that
Alexandra turned to Roger for help. He claims that it was Buzz who
saved him but Alex tells him that Roger helped smooth the way by getting
the proper documentation to Buzz. Nick makes it clear that he thinks it
is a bad idea to involve Roger in all this.

Nick goes to the newspaper and tells Alan Michael that he is fed up with
he and his father. Nick says: "Do you know that your father is capable
of murder?" Tangie hears all this. Nick never does tell Alan Michael
exactly what happened in the Bahamas but only that Alan Michael better
be careful, man.

Later at the mansion Mindy arrives to show Nick how nicely she is dolled
up for the gala. He hasn't changed clothes yet because he had "to run an
errand." He would rather not go to the gala. Nick in a surprisingly
loving and sincere manner tells Mindy that he never wants to be that far
away from her again and that she is the most important thing in his life.
He even says "you are too good for this family." She answers that she
things *he* is too good for the Spaulding family! When she suggests that
it would be a shame to not go to the gala and waste her beautiful dress,
Nick says the dress won't be a waste because he will enjoy taking it off of
her! (it was sort of touching and cute)

THE COOPERS

After his initial appearance at the Spaulding mansion, Buzz goes home to
the diner still in his evening clothes. He is all excited and beaming
nervous energy from his secret trip. Meanwhile, Nadine has been telling
Carroll that she is worried about what Buzz is up to. His note didn't tell
her much. Nadine is busy working at the diner in her cutsey little
uniform. She is not happy when Buzz comes in all aglow.

Nadine tries to burst Buzz's bubble by shoving him aside while she waits
on customers and cleans the counter. She tells him she was worried. He
is incoherently bubbling about this exciting adventure he was on. She
tells him to call the supper club because Hamp is worried about Buzz
showing up for work that night.

Finally he ends up apologizing, one more time, to Nadine. He didn't
mean to sound so excited. (What?) Nadine says she knows what it is like
to feel on fire and then come back to reality. Every time they turn the tv
camera off and she is back as just Nadine she feels a let down. She
supposes it was that way for him, coming back into the diner after his
adventure for Mrs. Spaulding. (So one more time we get the old Cooper
play by play: Buzz is sorry, Nadine apologizes for bringing him down.
This is getting boring.)

VANESSA AND MATT

These two keep their rendezvous at the boat house. Vanessa tells Matt
that Dylan et. al. no longer blame him. They have a new suspect but now
believe that Matt could be in danger. They agree to meet again at the
boat house at midnight after Vanessa's gala. Alan listens in on all this by
means of the bugged locket (convenient that Vanessa wears this piece of
jewelry so often). Alan then orders a ticket for some fight and sends it
off to Matt with a note saying: "Hopefully this will make the time pass
until midnight. Signed, Contessa"

SID AND GILLY

There was some obligatory scene between these two that didn't succeed in
moving the story forward. Just the same old junk about Sid getting close
to Alan and sharing whatever power he gets with Gilly who can then play
Alan against Nick at the tv station and come up with power also. Or
something like that!

ALAN AND ALAN-MICHAEL

Similar scene between these two in which Alan tells A-M that after
tonight Alan Michael will be that much closer to being the president of
Spaulding Enterprises.

FRIDAY CLIFF-HANGER

Show closes with Blake and then Vanessa arriving at the yacht for the
pre-gala doings for which they received an invitation from Alexandra.
Alexandra arrives and claims to not have invited them. Alan walks in and
locks the door behind him. He has his three signees locked on the yacht
with him for the night!

Hope this helps.
