In a universe billions of years old (some number crunching still in
progress --- I'll get back to you...), on a planet called Earth, in the
year 1994, somewhere in the Bahamas...
Nick Spaulding, victim of a masterful "Big Al" murder setup, is
flinging clothing into a suitcase like a pit bull out of Prozac, in an
effort to blow Dodge before the local federales decide to act.
Knock-knock. Police. Resplendent in white tunics w/gold trim, and
carrying the requisite sidearms. Seems they've connected Nick with the
"businesswoman who jumped", and they want his passport. Nick goes
absolutely ballistic.
   [WARNING FOR THE HUMOR-IMPAIRED:
    actual exchange has been augmented.]
"Passport, man?! Aw, man, you must be kidding, man! Man, do you know
who I am, man??! I'm NICK SPAULDING, man! President of Spaulding
Enterprises, man! Maybe you've heard of it?? Mover and shaker, man!..."
   The officials are not impressed.
"Over here it's "mon", Mr. Spaulding, and we must insist on your
passport."
Several minutes pass, and zero visa.
Nick decides to hand over his wallet to provide id, and the police
unsheathe their weapons, assuming combat positions. One of them grabs
the identification, fingers the contents, and fires off an unsettling
accusation.
"You trying to _bribe_ us, Mr. Spaulding??"
Nick tries to call the American embassy, and is told they're closed.
On a workday. He heads for the phone, and is physically prevented from
dialing.

Riiiiiing! It's Mindy, who has been phoning her husband all night,
and phones again at the recommendation of Fletcher, called in for
counsel chez mansion.
"Sweetheart, are you ok? How did the deal go??"
Nick jumps macho, and feigns control of the situation.
"Um, er, um...everything's fine, honey. "Sam" wasn't exactly what I
expected, but, um, er, um..."
He suddenly notices scratches on his forearm, realizes they will
probably assume he got them during a struggle with the "victim", and it
slowly dawns on the Boy Wonder that his ass is truly in the deep
fryer...um, make that "jerk pot".
"...everything's fine, honey. And one more thing, Mindy:
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLP!!!"

Mindy hightails it to Josh at the diner and brings him up to speed on
the situation, declaring something's wrong; she's not in the loop on
the Bahamas thing. Josh asks for specifics.
"Well, for one thing Uncle Josh, during the phone call, he never
called me "man" ONCE!..."

                       --------------------------------

[A (cont.)]:
-----------

Buzz arrives on the island via Spaulding jet, bursts in on the Nick-
ster and the police at the hotel, and ARRESTS Nick (handcuffs included)
in the name of _Interpol_!!
The cops aren't buying it, and when Buzz produces "papers", one turns
his back to phone HQ to verify their authenticity. Buzz hands Nick the
key to the cuffs (pilfered during the initial con) then produces a
pistola, disarming one cop and handing Nick the gun. The police are tied
and gagged, and our boys hightail it to the corporate jet, Springfield-
bound.

   On the homefront...

[C,D,G]:
-------
Alex shows up at Holly and Roger's place to inform the Dodger that
she's hired Buzz to assist w/the Bahamas thing.
[Holly arrives home with food for a romantic evening, spots AL2,
warns Rog that she wants Alexandra "out-of-the-house!", then
    blows Dodge.]
Roger breaks out some tea, finesses Alex, and gets her to agree to
let him help Buzz. He phones some connections in the Bahamas, and
apparently has them grease the way for Nick and Buzz's exit at the
airport.

Back at Matriarch Mansion, Alex brings Fletch up to speed on Nick's
setup, and also tells him full, general dislosure might have had a
negative impact on her son's marriage to Mindums and his quest for the
presidency. Fletch wants none of the intrigue and blows Dodge.

[E,F]:
-----

Gilly transports into the diner and asks Nadine (former lover of
Alan) for an intro to the Big A. No go. Too long ago. Gill phones Sid
and hits him up for the same deal.
Frank and Josh decide that they must find Matt at all costs, in case
he's really involved with the hijacking and plans to get physical in
light of his "uncloaking". Ze Beeg Frunk also notes that both Matt and
Cutter made the same remark about "finding the tatto owner and finding
the hijackers...".

[B]:
---
At Company's boarding house, Gabriella phones UNCLE Carlos (hijacking
boss) using a payphone right outside the bedrooms, and tells him she's
located the guy who can id them (Matt) --- but he's blown town. David
comes up, and Gabby lies that she was checking for movie times. Too
public (dangerous) Dave responds, and takes her to a nearby forest
preserve for some R&R.

[H]:
---

Meanwhile, Matt has snuck into Lucy's bedroom (balcony) in order to
gain access to his own room and retrieve clothes for the
getaway/hijacker hunt.
Lucy asks for advice on what to wear on her "video date" [! - gawd,
this babe is ditsy! :)], and Matt spends a good 30 minutes (soap time)
shoring up her ego before leaving on his mission.

[B (cont.)]:
-----------

David is in the preserve trying to get Gabby to take some deep
breaths and "tune into the oneness", but she insists she'd rather be
around concrete and some chain-link fence. [;]
After looking at the blissed-out look on Dave's face, Gabriella does
decide to get into the spirit of things, and wades into a pond, emerging
drenched. During the towelling off, she busts a move, and they wind up
swapping some serious spit. However, Grant breaks off, wanting to take
things slowly.
Gabriella removes her shirt so he can dry her back, and...!

Final Montage
-------------

A question that Mindy asked Nadine during a heart-to-heart about
Nick ("What makes men run off??") serves as the basis for Neigh-Dong's
next entry in her on-going WSPR advice segment: driven men who can't
settle down and the women who love them.
With cameras rolling (and Frank and Mindy looking on), Nadine waxes
poetic about men who "aim for the stars and their wild desires...defying
everybody..."
   {shot of Buzz and Nick in the jet}

"...and the women left behind who love them..."
   {shot of Alex brooding and worrying in the mansion}

"and how hard it is TO love them...but some women can handle the
emotional roller coaster..."
   {shot of Holly and Roger at home, feeding each other grapes}

"...sometimes a man and a woman will just find each other, and when
that happens, it's wonderful..."
{shot of Lucy meeting her date at her bedroom door ---
    and she's less than enthused from the look of things}

"...but they say that there are no chance meetings --- that people
are always put in our paths for a reason..."
{triple, "zoom in" close-ups of David going into shock
    as he discovers the tattoo on Gabriella's shoulder!!!}

   Cliffhanger!
