			Guiding Light Update

				for

			Tuesday, October 11

================================================================================

Vanessa lying in bed [of course]:

Matt comes in (for to do his remodeling job) and they share a light
kiss. He is shaved clean for once, and Vanessa says "you look so young", not
at all unpleased with this [maybe now she will really kiss him]. He tells her
that he successfully burned the file, but that Dylan sort of caught him. She
apologizes for the trouble and for being "neurotic", but she wants to
make the choice to let her friends and family know about them if she wants to.
This statement excites Matt, as it is the first time Vanessa has ever suggested
that they might have a future together.

Frank and Dylan:

Frank tells Dylan that he checked on all of Dylan's workmen and only
one failed to come out clean: Matt. He is wanted for car theft and assault and
battery. As they share a look of worry Bridget joins them and bubbles over
about Matt's decision to stay in town. Dylan looks up at the roof.

David and Gabriella:

David dreams of throwing the picture of he and Kat at the wall. He
awakens and we see that he is bed with Gabriella (though he is fully clothed).

Alan-Michael and Alan:

A-M holds dad in his arms and rocks him back and forth. A-M asks him
about Roger's trustworthiness and Alan says that he knows what he is doing.
"Promise me you'll trust me" he pleads with A-M. A-M says he won't turn his
back on his father again.

Roger and Tangie arrive, and Roger leans down to Alan's ear and
whispers "Don't die on me. Not yet." Roger asks A-M a few questions and A-M
yells at him. Roger explains to A-M he needs to know all if he is to help
(he pretends not to know Alan was released from prison early), and A-M tells
him about Harry Jones and about Eve's rescue. Roger insists that they take Alan
to the hospital and they pick him up and carry him out. Harry Jones is watching
from the outside.

Bridget and Dylan:

They discuss Matt's decision to stay. She tells him about the time when
they were kids when Matt built her a plane and how she slept with it until it
"gave her splinters" because she wanted to be close to him, and that was the
best she could do. And now she is getting the chance. Frank joins them and
Bridget starts to go into the hate-Dylan-act but Frank tells her he knows and
she can save it. She's thankful, and says all she needs now is for them to find
the stupid hijackers and life will be perfect for her. She leaves them to their
devices.

Frank and Dylan return to the Matt question. They agree that things look
bad for him, but Dylan realizes that Matt didn't come into town until the night
of the hijacking, so he couldn't have overheard about the meeting place. But
Frank points out that Bridget knew and could have told him [apparently neither
one remembers Bridget didn't see him until the next day]. This seems to convince
them even more.

Vanessa and Matt:

The other Lewises have trundled off and Vanessa and Matt are alone. But
she says she has to go back to work. Matt tries to seduce her into staying but
she says that "all hell broke loose" when she failed to go to work the day
before, that she is needed. He says she should pretend to be sick and that he
could do some "quiet plastering". She again says no, and is ready for a shower.
However, M. Reardon has disconnected the shower. She could take a bath in her
hot tub if she wishes, though. They entwine.

David and Gabriella:

David apologizes to Gabby "for the way I got upset and all that". And
also for falling asleep in her bed. She says it's okay but that she knew it was
coming. "Did you really think it [his and Kat's relationship] would last
forever?" "Yeah, I did," he says dejectedly. "But it never does, David. It never
does." He wonders who broke her heart, and she says no one, she never lets
anyone get that close. She asks him if it was all worth it, and he isn't sure
anymore. He leaves, and Gabriella picks up the picture of Kat and David that
is lying shattered on the ground. She tells Kat that she blew it.

Eve and Cutter:

Eve has a hair cut! [I like it, even though I liked her with long hair.
Not as dramatic as Bridget's change, but positive, IMO.] Cutter is angry, and
he grills Eve about the gunshot victim she reported: why did you not report it
until the morning (she was tired), who was the man ("some John Doe"), etc.
He is more than a little suspicious and she mentions that she found the man
in an old hull. He asks more questions and she ducks them all. He wonders how
she manages to find all these gunshot victims [he actually remembers the Roger
incident!], and reminds her that in the past she has let wanted people escape,
and it is a serious offense. She's pretty sure this guy isn't on the run, but
he has managed to scare her. She doesn't want to lose her job that she just
finally got back. He threatens her a little more, and leaves. [He certainly
does have the most frustrating job in Springfield.]

Alan-Michael and Tangie:

Tangie wants to tell Patrick, but A-M says no. (Harry Jones watches
this conversation.) Roger and A-M leave to go to the hospital, and Roger finds
the gun as he walks out. He picks up and furtively slips it into his pocket.

Harry Jones and Barry (I think that's his name) meet up outside and
Harry tells Barry to forget the "girl", that he is following Alan to Cedars.
That this is one patient who won't be making it.

David and Bridget at Company Bar:

Bridget pours David a coffe and asks him where he was last night. He
tells her where he slept and that Gabriella really helped him make it through.
He says he "acted like a donkey" [at least that's what I think he said], and
she was there for him. Bridget says she understands that he needn't to be with
a stranger, and not his friends. She says that Kat is a fool and she tells him
what a great guy he is. And that he better stop insulting himself because she
won't let anyone talk that way about her best friend. He says, ok, that he'll
just try to "forget about members of the opposite sex---but, if you ever decide
to dump Dylan..." [yes, yes, yes. I'd love that.]

David joins Frank and Dylan and they tell him their suspicions about
Matt. David doesn't really think they have anything to convincing on Matt
(all three have been fugitives before), but they decide that they will watch
him closely. Maybe even follow him to the hijackers.

Matt and Vanessa:

Matt thinks he has her tub ready to go, but when he turns it on, he
soaks them both. They laugh and reminisce about the island and the storm.
They kiss a little, and he again tries to convince her to stay. This time
he gets no response one way or another.

Gabriella:

Gabriella is tossing her clothes into a shopping bag. There is a knock
at the door and Bridget walks in. Gabby tells her that she doesn't have to
worry, she's leaving. Bridget thanks Gabriella for helping David and tells
her that she doesn't have to leave. Gabriella says "you don't have to feel
sorry for me, I know you don't like me". Bridget apologizes, says she knows
she shouldn't judge people she doesn't know. She says that Company is like
an orphange for people for nowhere else to go, and that they are quite a
little family. She thinks that the place would be good for Gabriella.
But Gabriella has no money. That's okay, Bridget says, she could clean the
upstairs for room and board. "Gabriella don't go", she pleads sweetly.
Gabriella smiles [!] at her. She thanks her for the offer and decides to stay.
Bridget is happy, and tells her that she will be the star witness when the
case comes to trial. The smile fades as Bridget leaves the room.

Patrick and Tangie at the hull:

Patrick wonders where she's been and tells her that her place has
been ransacked. He had wondered if she were alive. She says "You know how
some people have bad hair days? I was having a bad house day. What can I
say?" He doesn't buy it for a second and he asks her if she knows about the
gunshot victim. She doesn't lie to him, but she doesn't answer the question
either. Cutter is completely frustrated. But Tangie assures him that she is
ok and says that he is a "good cop, but a better friend" and "what I need
right now is for you just to leave me alone". She says this with no anger in
her voice, but only exhaustion and fear.

Alan-Michael and Eve at Cedars:

He tells Eve that they brought the mysterious gunshot victim like
they said she should. But they have him stashed away in the morgue. He tells
her a story about Roger and the agency, when she asks who he is.

Meanwhile, Roger and Alan are involved in verbal fisticuffs.
"You need me alive", Alan coughs out. They discuss the irony of Roger having
to save Alan (both are less than thrilled with what they have to do). Eve
comes in and tries to get the doctoring going--wants an "IV drip going".
Lillian calls for Eve, and realizing she is in the morgue works up her courage
to go in. Inside she finds Eve and Alan-Michael, who is looking for his
Uncle Ed. Eve follows her out to help her find some materials [wouldn't that
usually be the other way around?], and quickly returns. Roger again tells
Eve that she "owes him one" and she gets to work on Alan.

Alan asks Rgoer to get something for him form his briefcase. They
again exchange quick barbs: "You owe me one big time", "I'm the only one
who can fulfill your dreams", and "It would be satisfying to just zip up
this bag and leave" [Alan is in a morgue bag to hide him.] Roger leaves
and A-M returns.

Frank and David:

David can't concentrate on what Frank is saying, and Frank tells him
that he should try to dive into work to forget about women. David says that
is what Bridget told him. Frank leaves and Dylan sits down with him. Dylan
is worried about telling Bridget about the Matt suspicions. She comes in
just then, and he grabs her, pulls her outside and hugs her.

Matt and Vanessa:

Vanessa is taking her bath, finally, and Matt is waiting outside the
wall. He asks her how it is, and she says it's nice but a little cold. He
comes in to help, and takes his shirt off. She looks away, but he leans down
to kiss her, and they start to kiss passionately. Fade to black.

Fade in, and the lights are out and they are lying in the tub together.
"That was the last time", Vanessa giggles.

Gabriella:

Gabby is looking at a bunny, when David enters. She tells him of the
deal Bridget has offered and he thinks that it will be good for her. He sees
the picture and he rips it up (but nicely in half). He smiles, sighs, and leaves
the room. Gabriella picks up the pieces and presses the David-half to her
chest.

Alan and Alan-Michael:

"You know, I always thought of you more as a Bauer than as a Spaulding",
Alan says. "I'm your soon too." He apologizes for the way he has always treated
his son, and says it must have hurt. A-M agrees. Alan says that's why he is
so amazed at the way A-M is taking care of him now. Alan-Michael says he
always cared, that he just never got a chance to show it. Tangie comes in
and tells A-M that Cutter knows about the gunshot victim. She says it's all
her fault, and he responds with "no don't blame yourself, it's my fault"
[a paraphrase]. He rejoins Alan and Alan asks him about his relationship to
Tangie. A-M says he really doesn't know her all that well, but that they are
friends. "Why?" "I was just wondering." [Foreshadowing of future troubles?]

That's all.
