Sorry for the long, long delay...

Guiding Light Update
Tuesday, September 4th

Cedar's Hospital, Griffin's Hospital Room

Griffin and Marcus bonding in Griff's hospital room. Griffin avers that
Vivian is innocent as Fletch walks in. The reporter wants to know why.

The Lewis-Chamberlain-Reardon House

Blake and Eleni cosset the grieving Bill with food, Frank tries to
sympathize. Bill walks out. Ross enters, having had no luck talking to
Matt.

Cedar's Hospital

Abby and Rick are discussing Vanessa, Matt comes up claiming she's not
dead.

Airport

Zachary confronts Roger; Roger lets him know that he knows Roger's still
alive.

The LCR House, back yard

Dinah alone. Vanessa in the bushes, whispering Dinah's name. Dinah
seems to hear something.

Commercial

Hospital

Abby excuses herself. Matt's in denial, Rick tries to convince him it's
true.

Airport

Roger and Zachary continue to exchange words; a pair of security guards
recognize Roger and confront him. Roger manages to wrest a gun away
from one of the guards, and runs off into the airport.

Back yard

Dinah has a monologue about her feelings while Vanessa listens from the
bushes. (There's something very creepy about Vanessa listening in to
her loved ones' speeches, I think.) Voice-over of Vanessa's hopes and
wishes for Dinah. Bill comes out to fill the bird feeder. Bill breaks
down; nice bonding moment between Dinah and Bill.

Hospital

Fletcher questions Griffin about Vivian. Griffin wants to amend his
statement to Levy.

House

Dinah and Bill enter. Ross has a little heart-warming talk with Bill,
then with Dinah. Frank gets a call about Roger, and heads out. Blake,
Dinah and Ross follow.

Airport

Roger dodging security guards, runs into Zachary again. Roger drags
Angel-Boy into a storage room. Zach tries to convince Roger to give
himself up, and shows no fear when Roger threatens to shoot him.
Roger's a bit taken aback, then tries to cut a deal: Zach doesn't tell
the guards where he is, and Roger keeps his mouth shut about Vanessa's
deception.

Airport

Frank, seemingly the only police officer in Springfield, shows up and
starts directing the security guards. Ross, Dinah and Blake show up.
Dinah and Blake have a woman-to-woman about the situation, call a truce
in light of their grief, and hug. (It's kind of nice to see their
relationship changing; the feud had started to run its course, IMO.)
Flash to Vanessa in full Carmelite nun regalia, nervously wondering
where Zachary is. Flash to storeroom, where Zach keeps trying to
convince Roger to give himself up. Angel-Boy reveals a surprising
amount of insight into Roger's past and motivations. Roger claims no
one cares about him. Zach tells him to look into his eyes and see that
Zach cares about him. Roger freaks out a bit, seems to waver, then
grins that Roger grin (swoon). Roger tells Zach to go, but Angel-Boy
won't leave without him.

Hospital

Matt grieves while Rick listens. Rick accidentally lets slip about it
possibly being for the best. Matt has no idea what he's talking about.

Commercial

Griffin's Room

Levy isn't convinced by Griffin's protestations of Vivian's innocence;
Fletcher feels the same. Griffin gets angry with Fletcher.

Airport

Zachary and Roger continue their confrontation. Frank and the guards
interrupt and apprehend Roger. Zach disappears.

Hospital

Rick realizes that Matt doesn't know about Van's illness, and remembers
that she didn't want him to know. Rick recovers, then Matt leaves.

Airport

Vanessa and the nuns are waiting for Zach. He arrives and shepherds his
flock to the plane. Meanwhile, Roger is protesting his innocence to
Blake and Dinah. He sees Vanessa across the lobby, and stupidly says,
"There's Vanessa!"

Commercial

Griffin's Room

Marcus defuses the tension between Griffin and Fletch. Griffin
threatens a media blitz if the charges are not dropped, and reminds Levy
about the police's rush to judgment concerning Marcus. Levy leaves,
saying he'll do what he can, but it's up to the DA now. Griffin wants
to start the media blitz immediately, to Marcus and Fletcher's
consternation.

Hospital

Abby and Rick have a heart to heart about Matt, medical ethics, grief,
etc. Abigail once again proves that she's probably the only person in
Springfield with brains, empathy and ethics. Rick continues to swoon
over her.

Airport

Dinah et al are disgusted by Roger's claim. Frank walks over to the
nuns to check them out, if only to shut Roger up. Camera pauses on the
back of one of the nuns. Could it be...Vanessa?

Commercial

Griffin's Room

Fletcher and Marcus try to calm Griffin down. He realizes he's going
overboard; the other men leave to let him get some rest. They bump into
the Rasheed outside the room. The bodyguard goes in, and Marcus and
Fletcher talk about how weird Griffin's acting. Back in the room,
Griffin confronts Rasheed, revealing that the shooting was a plot cooked
up by Griffin, and Rasheed panicked when it went badly, stashing the gun
in Vivian's trunk.

Airport

The mystery nun is not Vanessa, who is conveniently lurking just around
the corner, out of sight. Roger is led away. Ross comforts Dinah as
the nuns (and Vanessa) file past in the background. Vanessa risks one
last look at her daughter before boarding.

The Lighthouse

The Mysterious Sailor confronts Angel-Boy about getting involved with
Vanessa's problems; he predicts trouble ahead as a result.

LCR House

Matt shuffles into the empty living room. He looks at Henry's picture,
asks him for some sort of sign that Vanessa's alive. Nothing happens.
Matt takes down his and Van's wedding picture, sits with it. Cut to
Vanessa in the plane, looking at a picture of Matt. "Until we are face
to face again, my love, good-bye." Final shot of Vanessa and Matt's
faces.
