"It's About Me" or "C'est Moi" Day

This episode's leitmotif is brought to you by Frank ("I Did It
	My Way") Sinatra.

	* Lucy claims her answer is about her, not her love for A-M.
	* Nadine's cards are about her, not her arguments with Buzz.
	* At least a couple of people finally comprehend that Dinah's
mistakes (and there've been some doozies) are hers to make.

SPAULDING ENTERPRISES

MariBrent puts out his/her cigar in Lucy's trashcan and heads into A-M's
office. S/he unlocks a cabinet of confidential personnel files and takes
out Lucy's.

COUNTRY CLUB -- OUTDOOR DININGROOM

Lucy tells A-M she loves him and she wants to say yes.
Then say it, A-M pleads.

INSIDE THE COUNTRY CLUB -- THE BALLROOM

Ross tells Dinah no one would blame her if she calls the whole thing off
-- she doesn't have to marry anyone. He wants her to come home with him
and talk.
Roger says Dinah doesn't need to listen to Ross. Dinah snaps that she
knows that and so does Ross. "Can't we just get on with the ceremony?"
she pleads.
"Marry in haste, repent at leisure," Blake comments.
"Oh, Blake, you're so provincial." Dinah retorts.
Dinah tells the judge she ready to marry "the man I love, Roger Thorpe."

--------------------------ROLL LIGHTHOUSE------------------------------

(What's up with the new pic where Tangie used to be? It's somebody's hand
rubbing somebody else's bare skin, but who does this skin belong to?)

THE BALLROOM

Ross pleads with Dinah to reconsider. Blake jumps on her dad. What did he
say to Dinah?
Rog says he told her the truth. "That I love her beyond measureand I want
to devote the rest of my life to making her happy." (Put on your wading
boots, folks, it's gettin' deep in here!)
"And you believed him?" Blake asks, "After everything Holly told you?"
Roger goes still like a deer in the headlights.
Dinah gives a brief recap of some of what Holly told her (although she
seems to skip all of the important points to me). She makes it pretty
clear that Holly accurately predicted most of Roger's moves to wine and
dine and court Dinah.
The judge points out that the marriage license says "Marcus Williams" and
Dinah "assures" him that he can "fix" it. (one of those moments when it
seems she would actually be a good partner for Rog)
Marcus and Matt both jump in and let Dinah know she's making a mistake.

COUNTRY CLUB DINING ROOM

Lucy can't marry A-M.
He tries to be understanding. He knows she's worried about putting him at
risk for HIV. She says she doesn't want to be responsible for his life.
He says she's not, he is and the risks don't matter to him.
But if she's positive, it'll only be a marriage in sickness, not in
health, for worse, not for better.
A-M gets mad, because she's making the decision for both of them. He's
tired of always thinking worst-case scenario.
She wants to wait 'til after the test. He doesn't want to. He won't.
She's afraid she'll hurt him. He says she's hurting him now, by not trusting
him.
Lucy says it isn't about him or them, it's about her. That comment
makes A-M totally lose his temper -- he tells her it was a mistake to
propose. He wants to take her home, but she says she'll stay 'til she's
ready to leave. He leaves.

DINER

Nadine is reading her tarot cards and explaining how they work to Buzz.
She's asking the deck about what she's doing wrong in her life and what
she should do to make her life better. The cards say if she wants to
change her life she has to tourn it upside down. If she continues on her
same path, she'll continue to be repelled and repulsed (Buzz says the
cards are "repulsive") and she'll die alone.
Buzz thinks this is about their argument, about him supposedly never
being around. No, she insists, it's not about him it's about her.
If she wants a better life she'll have to leave Springfield and the cards
say her departure is overdue.

SPAULDING ENTERPRISES

MariBrent takes pics of Lucy's file with one of those tiny little spy
cameras. A security guard comes up in the elevator. MariBrent hides by
the door with a wicked looking knife (or was it an industrial strength
letter opener?)

BALLROOM

Now that Dinah has heard from Ross and Matt, she sarcastically asks for
for mom's $.02. Van says Dinah knows how she feels, but it's Dinah's life.
Roger wants to get on with the wedding.
Wait, Van has something to say afterall. Dinah doesn't have to marry
Roger for the money. Van has full discretionary power over the trust
fund. She gives Dinah a check of all the trust fund money. (I can't quite
make out if it's two million dollars or ten. Anybody out there with a
bigger tv screen?)

[Maybe they should serve Pepcid AC at Roginah's reception.]

HALFTIME

BALLLROOM

Van wants Dinah to take the check aand spare herself the heartberak of
marrying Roger. Rog starts to say something and Van snarls at him to shut
up and stay out of it, this is between her and Dinah. Roger says he's the
only one who understands that what Dinah needs is love and respect,
that's his only hold on her.
Ross says Roger just wnats Dinah's money. Dinah informs them that Roger
signed away any claim to her trust fund.
Roger wants to bury the hatchet and does the Rodney King "Can't we all
just get along?" song and invites everyone to stay for dinner after the
ceremony. Ross says he'd rather drink hemlock. He and Blake bolt.
Dinah wants Matt to be best man and Van to be maid of honor, but the
won't be staying either(although they're much nicer about than Bloss
were). Van hands Dinah the check and they leave. Then Marcus leaves after
he tells Dinah "This isn't a wedding. It's a funeral."
"What if we had a wedding and nobody came?" Dinah asks sadly.

DINER

Buzz is fussing at Nadine for overreacting to a few problems by wanting
to leave. They're interrupted by A-M banging on the door. He's still
obviously upset -- tells then he left Lucy at the country club after tehy
had a fight. Buzz and A-M go into the back room to talk. Buzz wants
toknow what A-M did to Lucy. Something pretty awful, A-M says, asked her to
marry him.

SPAULDING

The security guard stops short of A-M's office when Lucy gets off the
elevator. She's looking for A-M. He tells her no one's there, although he
did notice the smell of cigar smoke when he first came in. (A-M should
fire this guard. The boss's office door is wide open and he doesn't even
check inside?!?)
MariBrent sliops Lucy's file back into the file cabinet. Once the guard
leaves, s/he comes out of A-M's office, scaring Lucy who's sitting at her
desk. Lucy wants to know what marion's doing there.

[Degree anti-perspirant -- when you're body heat rises because you're
being stalked by a cross-dressing psycho.]

SPAULDING

Lucy thinks Marion looks upset. Marion claims to be there working late
because she's been having trouble sleeping. She was hiding from the guard
because she got scared -- he was a man and she was alone. Lucy tells her
she has to remember that not all men are as "sick and twisted" as the men
who attacked them (Brent loves that description :)). Maribrent notices
Lucy doesn't look as happy as she did at the countyr club earlier. Lucy
tells her/him about A-M's proposal and their fight.

CHEZ MARLER

Ross comes out of the shower, where he claims he does his best thinking
(I thought men did their best thinking on the toilet). He tells Blake he
screwed up again. He tried to save Dinah when she didn't want to be saved
and in the process turned his back on Blake again. She forgives him
because she's done plenty of the same over Roger. They want to put their
mistakes behind them. Blake's temperature is still up and they decide to
make the most of it.

BALLROOM

The judge points out that Roginah need two witnesses to the ceremony.
Having decided to go through with the wedding, their having a little fun
with it. They grab a waitress and waiter, Dorian and Danny, to be
witnesses aand the maid of honor and best man, respectively. dorian makes
a bouquet from one of the flower arrangements. Roginah sing the wedding
march as Dinah walks down the stairs.
The judge starts with "the important stuff," the vows. Rog says "I do."
Dinah says "Can you repeat the question?" then laughs and says she always
wanted to say that. No reason for the "speak now" part, since everyone
who would have objected has left.
During the exchange of rings, they're supposed to say "with all my
worldly goods I thee endow" and Dinah adds "except my trust fund."
They are pronounced husband and wife.

BOARDINGHOUSE (MATT'S ROOM)

Van apologizes to Matt for breaking her promise to him not to butt in to
Dinah's life. He's not mad because it was understandable. He would have
done the same thing. Besides, he's decided that it's better to be in love
than to be right. He wants to concentrate on what he does best -- loving
her. They kiss and make up.

BALLROOM

Roginah feed each other cake. They dance and decide to skip the rest of
the ceremony and head straight to the wedding night. Rog passes out cash
to the judge and Dorian and Danny while Dinah stares at the couple on the
wedding cake.

DINER

A-M shows Buzz the ring. Buzz advises A-M to patient. He's never won a
straight out argument with Lucy, but whenever he was right she eventually
came around if he just let her alone.

SPAULDING

MariBrent tells Lucy she did the right thing. Lucy was trying to spare
A-M pain and Maribrent says that love is sacrifice.

CHEZ MARLER

Bloss in a post-coital chat. They complementing each other -- apparently
they get better with practice. Blake jokingly claims to have heard a tiny
little voice saying "Bullseye!"

BOARDINGHOUSE

Van and Matt in a post-coital chat. NOthing particularly importnat gets
said.

REGENCY HOTEL

Roginah postcoital. Dinah gets up for some more champagne. Rog turns over
and falls asleep. Dinah impshly considers pouring champagne on his head,
but decides against it.
She sits down and looks at the marriage license -- Roger's name is
smudged. Then she looks at her check.

SPAULDING

Maribrent says A-M will sacrifice anything for love, that he may be too
good for his own good. They head down in the elevator, with Maribrent
hovering threateningly over Lucy. Lucy thanks Marion for being such an
honest friend.

DINER

A-M decides to take Buzz's advice and give Lucy a few days to think. He
leaves feeling better.
Nadine's still reading her cards. She has a vision of what looks like a
candlestick dripping in blood. She tells Buzz that someone's going to die.

Well, that's it folks. Apologies for the delay in getting it to you. But
it was a pretty good day with the Light, wasn't it?
