> We enter with Buzz asleep on a chair in the Cooper living room. Nadine
> comes down the stair and looks at Buzz with an expression of love on her face.
> She kisses his forehead and he awakens with a start. He jolts out a sleepy
> apology, saying he "must have dozed off". Nadine says, no of course he didn't
> just doze off that he meant to sleep in the chair so he could avoid sleeping
> with her again. But he didn't need to for she understands that their time
> together was temporary and their night of passion was just a night. She says
> she doesn't expect anything else, and that he had better wake his ass up
> because the flight to Santa Domingo where they are getting their divorce
> is an early one.
>
> David and Gabriella at Company:
>
> David wants to take Gabby right downstairs, but she balks. She is
> tired of being down there in that nasty, lonely, dark place, but David
> convinces her that, until they discover whose scrimshaw it is, she must
> remain down in the basement for her own protection. Matt starts to enter
> and they race down the stairs. He says out loud to himself "What do I
> want?" and looks pensive.
>
> Vanessa:
>
> She dreams of sleeping with Matt. They kiss and roll around and stuff
> and Vanessa looks up to see Bridget holding Peter watching them with a
> disgusted expression. Vanessa tells her to wait but she brusquely leaves the
> room. Matt pulls Vanessa back down and she goes back into his arms. Then
> she wakes up, sitting up fast, and looking distraught.

> ==The Lighthouse spins==
>
> Sid and Gilly at WSPR:
>
> Gilly is yelling to Sid about how she needs to catch up with Roger
> and Alex and Nick who are just so good at being ruthless. She asks him to
> help her. All she wants is to run the station free of all this political
> and familial backstabbing. Sid tries to flirt, tells her how irresistible
> she is, but she wants him to be serious. He warns her that it will be rough,
> that she will have to be strong, and he wonders if she has what it takes.
> She says, if for nothing else, as revenge for the way Roger vilified David
> on TV last summer, she is willing to do whatever it takes.
>
> Gabriella and David:
>
> Gabriella just wants this whole thing to be over. It is tearing
> her apart. David says, that it wasn't so bad, that they had a good time
> the last few days. But she is disconsolate. She doesn't want to return to
> this hiding out. David says "I know how afraid you are, I've been there."
> Gabriella retorts "I'm not afraid and you know nothing." David tries to
> calm her down by giving her a nite-lite and a teddy bear that plays music.
> At first, she is excited and smiles. But then the scowl returns and she
> says that he should give the bear to some charity case kid. David has had
> enough and he leaves. Gabriella looks a little sorry.
>
> Bridget and Dylan:
>
> Dylan sneaks into Company and hugs Bridget. They are laughing and
> kissing, when David opens the front door. They quickly separate and David
> tells them what he found out about the scrimshaw. Matt enters and stares
> icily and Dylan and Bridget and Dylan go back to the acrimoniously breaking
> up couple routine. They scatter, leaving Matt alone. He grabs a coffee and
> a danish and Lucy walks in. She offers Matt some food and they talk about
> last night and about Vanessa. Matt asks a few questions about her and Lucy
> tells him about Billy's crime (no details) and about Vanessa's power and
> wealth and that she is an "impressive lady".
>
> Nadine and Buzz:
>
> Buzz is a little reticent. He is in no rush to get to the airport.
> Nadine tells him that he needs a shower and some coffee, and that he's
> "trying to let her down easy", and that it's not necessary. "No one could
> take that tacky wedding seriously." She continues moving in and out like
> a bolt, and Buzz trips over her suitcase revealing the wedding boquet (sp?)
> that
> Nadine has apparently kept.
>
> Nadine returns with a cup of coffee. Buzz shows her the boquet and
> she says that it's no big deal. He says that she doesn't have to pretend,
> that she should yell at him or something. She says that they had won a lot
> of money and all they were doing was celebrating (and okay, maybe they
> celebrated a bit too much) but that that was that. She leaves to go get
> the winnings from WSPR and tells Buzz he better be ready when she returns.
> Lucy enters and gives Buzz a look and he returns with his "I know I know"
> look.
>
> Sid and Gilly:
>
> Gilly says people often say she is too aggressive. Sid correctly
> guesses she means Hamp, and he says "his loss". She says, no my loss,
> because Hamp is a great guy. Sid says okay, but he doesn't understand
> the double standards that Hamp lives by. In a man, Gilly's aggressiveness
> would be considered an asset. Gilly says "you don't have to tell me" and
> she says she is happy with the way she is, but that she still wants
> approval; She still wants people to think that she is nice. Sid says she
> has "to take the off the kid gloves." Sid suggests that it is time she
> fight fire with fire. She agrees and says that she will do to all of them
> what Roger did to David. She will use WSPR.
>
> David, Bridget, and Dylan:
>
> David just doesn't buy the divisive couple routine. Vanessa
> enters, and Dylan and Bridget take the anger act to new heights. Dylan
> leaves and Vanessa says she just came to pick up Peter. But he is asleep
> and she decides to wait for him to awaken. She and Bridget discuss last
> night and Matt. Vanessa asks Bridget if she can just go up to look at
> Peter, and Bridget looks very serious and says "Honestly?" Vanessa looks
> a little cowed, and then Bridget laughs a big laugh and says of course.
> [For those who don't know, this is a reference to when Vanessa first
> returned from her vacation and wouldn't let Bridget look at Peter.]
> Vanessa wanders upstairs, and David tells Bridget that he doesn't believe
> anything Dylan and she are saying and that she had better tell him the truth.
>
> Vanessa and Matt:
>
> Vanessa straggles into Matt's room and says "What do you want
> with me?" Matt looks surprised and says "What do I want with you?
> [Note: his first line of the day was "What do I want?"] I hope you
> are just asking that because you don't know what else to say. I don't."
> She lets a smile slip out of the corners of her mouth and chases it away.
> She wants to know if he has told Bridget and he says of course not, that
> all he can think of is the oddness of this moment. She explains that she
> is caught in a strange place, being one of Peter's mother and he being the
> other mother's brother, and tells him that she is afraid of what he could do
> to the system. She says she thought it was all just a glorious one-night
> stand and is afraid that Matt knew who she was all along, maybe with
> plans of making fun of her or blackmailing her or something. He asks if
> she knew who he was, and she says, "you know I didn't" and he says "and
> you know I didn't". He wants to know why she always tries to make him
> out to be something that he is not.
>
> David and Bridget:
>
> David says that she can't hide the truth from him, after all he
> helped birth her baby. And besides that, he saw Dylan and Bridget kissing
> just 30 minutes ago. He says, "Bridget, you are the world's worst liar."
> She denies this, but confesses. He understands why they are doing this but
> he thinks he can help. She explains that it's so hard because they can't tell
> anyone, for they don't have any idea who is behind the "accidents". David
> says he won't tell anyone. He says it's time to settle all of this. She says
> she wants to be part of any action.
>
> Buzz and Lucy:
>
> Buzz says that he got into this mess, all for money, and now he has
> it and doesn't seem too terrific. Lucy thinks that there was more that he
> wanted. Buzz agrees, but he knows now that Jenna doesn't have any interest
> in him. He says that it is over, and that he has something else staring him
> right in the face. "Just because I can't have what I want, why can't she?"
> Buzz queries himself.
>
> Nadine, Gilly, and Sid:
>
> Gilly hands Nadine the check and laments that she didn't have
> a few cameras around for this occasion. Nadine is happy they don't and says
> she is ready to get back to her life. Gilly and Sid and Nadine trade many
> thanks about helping each other (Gilly was needed to get Buzz/Nadine on
> Soul Mates, and Buzz/Nadine have made Springfield look good.) Nadine leaves
> and Gilly gets right back to work. Sid marvels. Gilly says that she knows a
> convicted felon can't own a TV station; her plan is to nail Roger for
> breaking and entering (at Alex's) and put an end to his rule. But no, Sid says,
> Alex has dropped the charges. Gilly's frustration rolls out. They are all out
> to get her. Sid refuses to let her get down on herself. She is the only one
> who cares about the station, and the only one who can run it. She needs to
> fight like all of them. Dirty. She agrees and give him an odd flirt.
>
> Matt and Vanessa:
>
> Vanessa worries about her family thinking she "fooled around with
> someone who could be little Bill's brother." He says "loving someone is
> nothing to be ashamed of. It happens all the time." "Not with me," she says,
> "not with Bridget's brother." He says "Who are you afraid of? Me or you?"
> Bridget calls for Vanessa from downstairs. Matt opens the door and she
> rushes out. Bridget finds her and asks her to stick around a little while
> she goes to the store. Vanessa agrees, Bridget leaves, and Vanessa returns
> to Matt's room. She repeats that the relationship can not continue as Matt
> moves closer to her. She says that she and he promised that it was over.
> Matt says "I don't know if I can keep my promise. Can you?"
>
> David and Dylan:
>
> David confronts Dylan and Dylan tries acting for a bit, but gives
> up quickly. David wants to know why they tried to keep him in the dark.
> "I'm supposed to be helping," he points out. Dylan is confused and David
> says that that is okay, that he will be the thinking one of the two of them.
> Bridget enters, and says that they are forgetting something, her.
>
> Sid and Gilly:
>
> Gilly reads memos from Roger and Nick commenting on her handling
> of the Thorpe/Lindsay arrest. Roger thanks her for the coverage and Nick
> asks that she not cover such stories too much. Gilly decides on what her
> course of action is.
>
> Lucy and Buzz:
>
> Lucy lies to Alex about being late again. Her car overheated or
> some such. Nadine enters and says she has a surprise for Lucy and Buzz.
> She dumps wads of money all over their heads. Lucy is thrilled throws the
> money around and then leaves. Buzz "arranges the money into piles." He

> the money, and he wouldn't be able to pay off his debts if she took it
> [but wasn't some of that debt to her?] She doesn't want to be a noose around
> his neck. She says "Let's go and get our plane" and she grabs her suitcase.
> Buzz throws the money away violently and yells "Stop!"
>
> He takes Nadine and throws her on the couch. He thinks that she has
> every right to expect more from him. He says that he is staying married,
> dammit!
>
> Dylan, David, and Bridget:
>
> Bridget wants them to leave the police stuff to the police. Dylan says
> he's done that and he's still waiting. He needs to do something. He wants

>
> Gabriella:
>
> Gabriella tells the teddy bear that she wants to be like it. "Wind
> me up and I do what I'm told, and never feel a thing."
>
> Vanessa and Matt:
>
> Vanessa is taking Peter and Matt tells her that he can't forget
> what happened. She must be stronger than him. "It's not over with and
> we both know it," he says without much confidence. She doesn't respond

The best part of this scene was when Peter said "Bad Mommy" to Vanessa
right before Bridget walked out of the room with him.
