     Vegas hotel.
A dazed Buzz awakens next to an ecstatic Nadine. That's right,
cadets; they did Ye Wylde Thang post-Soul Mates victory celebration, and
the B-man is mentally kicking himself in the rear for letting the
champagne get the better of his judgement (but not kicking as hard as he
could, IMO :) ).
Nadine senses his dual feelings and puts on a brave front,
announcing that they'll get divorced as planned, and proto. During an
in-room mega-breakfast, Stavros, Frank and Lucy transport in, acting as
a cheering section (Frank: (an aside to Buzz) "Did you two 'get along'
last night??"). Stavros and Lucy are sent on their way, and with Nadine
in the bathroom, Buzz confesses to Frank that he has an "ass" for a
father: yes, he and Nadine "got along", aaaaand...he also left a lengthy
discourse on Jenna's answering machine, with promises of a shared
future.
Later, the Soul Mates producer barges in with an itinerary for the
next three days. Seems a winner's mini-tour is part of the contract.
Buzz and Neigh-Dong are forced to put the d-i-v-o-r-c-e on hold.

     Wisconsin scrimshaw gallery.
David prepares to enter the shop and "solve the (hijacking)
puzzle", planning to meet Gabriella back at the upscale diner they
supped in the previous night (1).
Bzzzt. Chez diner, he animatedly tells her what went wrong by
pulling out an anti-theft device from "Gabby's cousin's" jacket, which
set off the gallery's security alarms. G comes clean about heisting
clothes back in Chicago to facilitate their detective work. Remembering
some of his own means-justify-the-ends, um, "maneuvers", Dave forgives
her, then reluctantly agrees to send her back to the shop for the much-
needed info.
Dressed in an elegant red suit with black borders (2), Gabriella
engages the shopkeeper in chat about her "whaler husband" (!) and their
scrimshaw collection. She produces the keychain, remarking how nice it
would be if she could personally return it to its owner. The shop is
changing locations and all the receipts have been packed, but the
proprietor is impressed enough with Gabriella's demeanor to agree to
locate the name and address for the keychain purchaser, and send it
along. Gabby gives him Company's address, adding a possibly prophetic
touch ("Mr. and Mrs. David Grant, at...").

     Boarding house.
9 am, and Jet barges into Matt's room, rousing him from an erotic
dream about Vanessa (he was playing his harmonica by a roaring outdoor
fire (think Clint Eastwood "spaghetti" western soundtrack), and the
"Contessa" came up and started kissing...you get the picture).
After much chat, Matt reluctantly agrees to help Dylan out despite
his reservations about the "golden boy", and transports to the
construction site.

Vanessa is there with Peter (which freaks Dylan out - safety issue
in light of the plot against his business), and informs Dylan that Bill
wants a part-time job (no doubt to pay for stuff for, and dates with,
Michelle :) ).
Dylan, of course, refuses to promise his little brother a job,
telling Van about the loader accident, but not elaborating on its
dire implications. She reluctantly accepts the explanation, and invites
Dyl to a "welcome to Springfield" dinner for Jet's brother (3), which he
refuses in order to facilitate the "breaking-up" ruse he and Bridget are
using.

Back at the boarding house, Vanessa stops by to invite Jet to
BrotherDinner #2 (and to inquire about Dylan's unusual nervousness at
the construction site) --- and spots Matt's harmonica on a night table!
Van's suspicions are _really_ aroused when Bridget, like Dylan,
freaks upon learning Peter was at the construction site.
And at Dig City, a shady worker slinks off to a corner and places a
cellular call to his bosses, informing them that security guards are
swarming the place, and they'll "have to think of another way to get at
him (Dylan)"... .

     Matriarch mansion.
Mindy (4) and Nick blitz Alexandra's bedroom, waking her depressed
butt up, and invite the old gal to breakfast or a trip w/Mindums to
harass an old client (now a Melinda Lewis Designs customer). ;))
Nothing seems to be cheering Alex up, so Mindy promises to try and
talk Fletch into coming back home, and transports to the Journal to
accomplish that goal.

Chez newspaper, Holly (on computer) is preparing a story about
Alan's early release when Fletch barges in. She's about to give him the
4-1-1 on A when Mindy arrives. Holly exits to leave the two alone, and
the Mind-ster delivers a poignant plea for Fletch to return to his old
environs ("...besides, I miss your friendship and company, too...").
Fletch turns her down, noting that though his love for Alex is
genuine, he's tired of being lied to for the umpteenth time ("...fool me
once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on _me_..."), and doesn't think
it's good for Ben to be exposed to Alex's ingrained duplicity.

Meanwhile, at Matriarch mansion, Alex is having a serious boudoir
chat with Nick, pleading with her son to delay his and Mindums' move to
their new (and presently under construction) digs, and to stay home to
better wage battle against Alan and Roger (who is truly pissed after
discovering Al's secret deal w/Gilly).
Nick reinforces the fact that, no matter where he is, Al will never
be alone. Mother and son tenderly shake hands in agreement on the united
front (incld. Mindy) needed to ward off A & R.

And back at the Journal, Holly is delivering an emergency phone
message to Roger (in Hong Kong (?)):

     "Important you come home NOW.
I have news that will change everthing.
But be careful; another snake has escaped from the 'zoo', and this
one is definitely 'poisonous'."

     Cliffhanger!

   (1) In scenes in the Wis. restaurant, and in Company's basement,
Gabriella has exhibited a _robust_ appetite. It's nice to see a woman
chow down without accompanying, stereotypical comments about having to
watch her weight. And I'll say it again: Veronica Cruz is *hot*!

   (2) Gabby must have hit a couple of "tony" Chicago Oak Street
boutiques during her shoplifting stint, because her dress was
kickin'...don't think it came from Marshall Fields or the Gap. :)

   (3) During their construction site convo, Van and Dylan paused near a
shack with a large "Danger! High Voltage" warning sign prominently
displayed. Unknown to her, Matt was inside. :) I assume that was a
non-verbal double entendre directed at V & M's past and pending
relationship. :)

   (4) Ah, about time; more overt T&A today. ;)
Mindy was wearing a totally BUCKE-WYLDE outfit: a tight, form-
fittimg, high-gloss leather (or faux leather) jacket, and a black-
striped body suit so "hugging" that I swear you could see the lips of
her vagina. Naturaly, butt-for-days, too.
You don't believe me about the "lips"?? Pause the tape during
Mindum's Journal conversation with Fletcher! :)) What was really funny
was that Fletch made a point of doing a double-take when she first
walked in, and gave her a _complete_ "eye exam" from front to back and
head to stern. I'm not sure that was scripted. ;)
A tip 'o the hat to Barbara "The SuperScreamer" Crampton.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Vanessa was
wearing a bra under her (white) t-shirt...
