   The boarding house.
Lucy (wearing tight jeans that show off her ass, and a midriff shirt
that displays her tight tummy to full advantage --- Go Sonia!), having
taken quite a "shining" to Matt, interrupts his ironing to deliver a
lecture on the duties of a sibling. She also inquires about his
willingness to go back and help Dylan at the construction site.
Matt (getting ready for dinner with Vanessa/Bridget/Dylan) explains
in no uncertain terms that he's not in Springfield to "hack" Dylan
(although he honestly doesn't like the guy), nor is he hanging around to
"sponge" off Jet: just wants to see if some of the good fortune that
came his sister's way will rub off on him.
Lucy bites, and takes over ironing duties. :)

David transports in with a week's worth of groceries, gives a weak
(but readily accepted) explanation about helping Jet with shopping ---
then heads straight to the basement to feed Gabriella. :)
Included in the bags is a book on scrimshaw art, with which he hopes
to locate the artist who produced the mystery (sailing ship) key ring.
Gabby opts to chow down on a sandwich, but Dave actually locates an
exact reproduction in the book, and makes plans to go to Chicago to get
up close and personal with the (female) expert/possible lead.
[There's a brief chat about Kat. Gabby suggests that Dave
has gotten Ye Olde Heave-Ho. David insists that Kat's just
getting her head together. Clearly, Dave is about to "trade-
up" in the girlfriend department. Veronica Cruz is gorgeous.]

A bit later, while David is deep in concentration at the kitchen
table (and scarfing an apple), Gabriella sneaks out the back door.

Construction Site
-----------------

Cutter warns Dylan that there's a possibility that whoever's
responsible for the recent hijacking and sabotage might come after his
loved ones, next (Pat also offers his place as a temporary crashpad
should Dylan deem it necessary).
Dyl, well-intentioned, tries to mislead Jet into thinking he wants to
break-up with her, in order to insure her (and Peter's) relative safety.
That works for about two seconds, then Bridget calls him on the plan and
faux anger ("...you never could lie well..."). They decide to go ahead
with the ruse, however, and start a scene just as Matt, Lucy and David
arrive.
Everyone seems to go for it, and Dave even volunteers to call off his
trip to Chicago to be by Jet's side during this moment of "crisis". They
exchange a big hug, but Bridget will have none of it, wishing her best
friend a safe trip.

Back at the boarding house, Dave has made a hasty exit, book and
apple in-hand; Lucy gets into the laundry thing again, and Jet orders
Matt to get ready for dinner.
[Talk about dressing-down; a black, plaid shirt and jeans, my brother?!]

During a private moment, Dylan worries that he and Bridget won't be
able to convince Vanessa that they're breaking up, but Jet assures him
they can pull it off.

   The Journal.
Holly (wearing a weird new hairdo --- sort of a Sally Field, "It's
ass-kicking time!" BattleDoo) breaks completely south as a result of her
and Rog being, ahem, "manhandled" by Alexandra the previous night. It
seems Fletcher served as a "source close to the investigation", and was
responsible for the paper covering the Spaulding Mansion brouhaha.

                               Headline:
"Publisher and Consort Arrested For Breaking And Entering"

                     [_Consort_?!! Buh-ha-ha-ha!]

Roger is handed the folder containing Alan's financial data, and
complete carte blanch from Holly to "take off the gloves" and do
whatever's necessary to bring down (takeover) the House Of Alex.
She steps out to arrange a little something to get the charges
against them dropped (and to pay back Fletch).
Riiiiing! Alan-as-Tashiwa. Wants to chat about the latest
developments.

Roger meets the Big A in what appears to be a church confessional [!].
   Short story:
   1) Rog calls him on the fake Japanese accent (The Real Tashiwa (tm)
was schooled in San Francisco), and Alan is reduced to a wimpy, Vader-
like mumble [:)]
   2) The Dodger notes that he has papers on Alan, and though the
document was slightly damaged (by the Bic he held to it!), it's clear
that Alexandra's signature is needed before A can get his hands on the
big bucks.
3)Alan wants Roger to get Alex's signature (re: release of holdings).
He explains that it will prove Thorpe's mettle, and will be destroyed
before A "gets out of prison".
   Deal.

Back in Dodge, Holly has printed up a poster board of a possible
Journal front page: "Spaulding CEO Fakes Snakebite Illness". [;))].
When Fletcher storms into her office demanding an explanation, he's
confronted with the fact that Rog set up the whole shebang --- venomless
snake, babes; your lover is pulling your chain. Big-time.

Matriarch Mansion
-----------------

Pissed-off to the max, Fletch transports back to Alex's, interrupting
a "yelling conference" she'd been having all morning with Ross (she
wants the book thrown at Roger and Holly for "desecrating" her living
space :) ). Ross blows Dodge, and Al rushes to the couch, in faux-
fatigue. Fletch makes a show of concern for her "frailty", then pretends
to leave. Alex immediately jumps up and places a nasty call to Ross'
service, demanding his immediate return to her house. Fletcher re-
enters, and catches her in full, vigorous and healthy, form.
Alex pleads that she had to fake bad health in order to check out
Nick's ability to run Spaulding. Fletch notes that one day, she's going
to wind up tricking _him_ for one reason or another, and goes upstairs
to pack his bags.
   When he comes down with Ben for good-byes (Ben and Al hug big-time;
the boy doesn't want to leave, and frankly, I don't blame him), Alex
gets teary-eyed and contrite, and is reduced to openly begging her lover
to stay.

Back at the Journal, Holly lets Roger know that she's set in motion a
brainslap targeted at getting Alex to drop the breaking and entering
charges. Roger pish-poshes the maneuver as small potatoes, and confirms
that he's back in league with Tashiwa.
   Holly: "_We're_ back in...".

Alan's Lair
-----------

With both players casually lounging about the homestead [;)], The Big
A confides to Susan that his long-range plans for re-domination of
Springfield (and Spaulding Enterprises, of course) are shaping up much
better than anticipated.
Due to "divine intervention", his financial folder was damaged, and
Roger is only aware of Alex's signature being needed for the release of
his holdings.
[Thus, I would guess, Roger won't be able to "protect" Blake until
it's too late. The Dodger himself can be used as a tool to force
his daughter's signature ("sign, or Daddy loses his ______"), while
    simultaneously procuring Alexandra's!
That leaves Vanessa (which may explain the attacks on Dylan ---
"sign, Van, or the boy's future will crumble before your eyes...").
And with everyone now quite sure Alan is in jail for the next
few months, no player will be able to connect him to the puzzle.]
