Guiding Light Update for Wednesday, August 6th, 1997

Jenna stops Harley from trying to leave Springfield
and figures out that Harley has strong desires and
feelings for Phillip.

Harley admits to Jenna that she and Phillip did
sleep together during the big New York heist but
tells anunbelieving Jenna that it didn't mean
anything to her or Phillip.

Later, Phillip offers Harley a cushy job at Spaulding
Enterprises but Jenna interrupts and tells Phillip
that will be impossible since she and Harley have
decided to start their own Detective Agency together.

Jessie's dad, Jack, shows up to berate/fuss at
Jessie for dating Michelle Bauer after he sees
Michelle's picture in the newspaper. Jack can't
believe that his son is dating the daughter of
Ed Bauer, the man who killed Jessie's mother.
Jessie defends Michelle saying she is nothing
like her father. Jack and Jessie continue to
argue and Jessie begins to yell at his dad about
his problems with alcohol. This makes Jack even
more irate and Jessie tells his dad to get out
and tells him to leave. As he is leaving Jessie
tells his dad that he will show him....he is
going to make something of himself. Jack laughs
and says Jessie can't even read; how will he
ever make anything of himself.

Meanwhile, Michelle is getting ready to tell
Rick that she will be staying in Springfield
to go to college and she is also going to tell
him she is tutoring Jessie by orders from the
judge.

Dinah and Bill are drawn to tears of happiness
as they greet and welcome their mother home.

Matt and Dinah later get into a discussion with
Vanessa about stopping her medication because
it is extremely dangerous to her immune system.

Well, that's all for this episode....until next time,
