   Company's boarding house; Lucy's bedroom.
With Peter (1) on the bed (no doubt taking mental notes on the
strange pre-mating ritual he's witnessing), Matt is rifling through
every nook and crany, searching for Vanessa's "schooner-emblazoned"
keyring. Lucy (2), trying to get him to cease and desist (arms flailing,
voice screeching) is meeting with zero success. Dylan, bitching about
the racket they're making, comes in and retrieves the kid --- and takes
him downstairs to Vanessa's waiting arms. [!]]
Van and Petey get comfy (she's brought back a sailing ship model, and
promises to take Pete and Bill sailing on one just like it --- but sans
Cheerios :) ), and Dylan expresses relief that she made it back in one
piece. Vanessa (in so many words) notes that she's a better woman for
the experience.
[David enters, greets Vanessa warmly, then pulls Dylan aside
for a brief confab. Subject: whether Dyl thought the hijackers
were "punks" or professionals, and the impact their status
might have on any potential witness' reluctance to come
    forward with information.]

Lucy comes down to retrieve Jet for duty as referee/bouncer upstairs.
She and Matt do a brief bro/sis act (she lectures him a la their mother;
he fires off some choice "noogies" atop her cranium), and Bridget drags
him downstairs to meet Peter's "second mom"!
Doesn't come off, because Van exits before Matt can make it
downstairs (what was the guy doing?! brushing his teeth??). :)

A bit later, Lucy calls a meeting (shades of the Cooper family
diner confabs :) ), with Dave, Jet and Dylan present (Matt standing by
silently in the background).
David and Lucy want to pitch in around the boarding house, so Dylan
and Jet can spend more time together. Dave even volunteers to help clear
Dylan's land, so when the time comes, the start of construction can
proceed without delay. Dylan is visibly touched by the display of true
friendship (me, too; "friends - how many of us have them"...), and notes
that it's something to really be thankful for.
Dave proceeds to tell the assembly about the existence of a possible
mystery witness to the hijacking (but doesn't drop Gabriella's name).
Matt's ears perk up at this one. :) David suggests that Frank might
take the case/track down on a contingency basis, and it's agreed it's a
good idea.
[Speaking of names, the actress playing Gabby (fox, ain't she?)
should have lobbied to use her real first name on the show:
Veronica (surname: Cruz). Don't see many of those on the soaps.]

Later, Jet sends Matt over to Vanessa's with a (comfort/"Peanuts")
blanket for Peter [!].

   Soul Mates set at WSPR.
The show's producer threatens Nadine with a forfeit when Buzz fails
to show up at game time (regional finals). Frank and Eleni arrive, and
immediately go into bs-mode, suggesting that Buzz is outside "getting
some air". :)
Normal procedure is rearranged a bit, and the female contestants are
brought out first, and asked the following question: what is the one
thing you could do that would cause your husband to divorce you?
Nadine is last, responds that trying to be the perfect wife would
probably do the trick --- then launches into an approx. 12-15 minute
diatribe on her and Buzz's histories, in order to give him more time to
make it to the station.

Meanwhile, at Meals On Wheels, a small crowd (7 people?) - incl.
Caroll- is gathered around a portable televison in anticipation of Buzz
and Nadine's triumph.
Surprisingly, Buzz walks in during a Soul Mates commercial, and
freaks everyone out. :) Seems he forgot his date with destiny. :)
Caroll notes that his truck is outside, and he can have Buzz chez set in
mere minutes (actually more of a demand --- C remarked that "...if you
think I'm going to stand by and watch Nadine embarassed on national
television..."). Buzz accepts the ride (3). ;)

At WSPR, with Frank and Eleni standing by a studio monitor (amazed by
Nadine's ability to bullshit for so long), Caroll and Buzz transport in
just as the husbands are brought out.
Buzz (dressed like a mafia go-fer) makes a mad dash from the opposite
side of the set to join them, and is immediately pressed by the host for
a response. His answer ("...I can never imagine not loving Nadine..."),
though touching (even Deenie was impressed), is incorrect. :)
During a later challenge round (the husband/wife teams are facing
each other, approx. 7 ft. apart, behind faux Roman column/pedestals
about 4 ft. in height), Buzz strikes out again trying to match Deenie's
answer to the question, "what will your husband say is your best
quality?".
   [Her: "...off-the-wall; goofy" /// Him: "good heart...generosity]
Nadine pulls Buzz off the set during a commercial to assist him
in getting his act together ("...be your old sarcastic self! The one
that's always putting me down!...Stop being such a nice guy, and start
being the miserable guy we all know and love!") :)

Final round. Question: what's the most important experience the
couples have shared during their entire time together?
   The other two pairs bomb-out.
Buzz (after two mini-answers (time they were married/Frank's birth))
rings in with a match --- the night he told Nadine the history behind
his Silver Star (4).
On to the Finals in Las Vagas. :)

Nadine disappears just as Lucy transports in, and Caroll goes out to
find her (his seeming affection for her raising Buzz's curiosity).
Frank remarks that when B 'n N win the Big One, Buzz can buy his
freedom. Buzz gently corrects his son, remarking that he doesn't _want_
to be "free" from his family; loves 'em with all his heart. Buzz, Lucy
and Frank share a huge, group hug.

Meanwhile, Eleni has tracked Nadine back to Meals 'N Wheels, where
she's sulking big-time. Guilt-trip City over the stunt she pulled with
Jenna and the videotape: "...I've never done anything to hurt Buzz ---
until now...".
[Thank God and praise Jesus! Nadine is developing a conscience!]

   Jenna's hotel room.
The J-ster is watching "Soul Mates", but flicks it off when Nadine
goes into her "time-delay" spiel.
   Knock-knock. Alan.
Jenna (dressed rather seductively for a pregnant woman [:))]) wastes
no time pouring on the charm. Alan, there to do another check on her
loyalty to his program, expresses appreciation for the attempt (gently
kissing her hand) but declines the gambit, noting that he's not going to
play "daddy" for her kid [!]. And he knows Buzz is the real father, too. :)
The Big A goes on to remark that Buzz simply "isn't in Jenna's
league", which pisses Jenna off slightly.
When the wordplay and brainslaps subside, Alan explains that his true
mission is to regain the holdings that were taken from him. Just as he's
about to name the three trustees whose signatures he requires, Vanessa
knocks on the door!

The V-ster's got Peter, and she's there for some bonding (5). :)
Vanessa remarks that Jenna was on her mind during her mini-vacation, and
asks Jen point-blank if she's told the father about the baby. Van goes
on to note that she's made _her_ share of mistakes --- from Ross all the
way to Alan Spaulding [! -w/the Big A lurking nearby].
Later, chit-chat over, Van transports out.
Alan decloaks, delighted at the discovery of Jenna's friendship
w/one of the trustees. :)

Notes:
-----

(1) The child playing Peter is always in extraordinary good-humor, and
delightfully animated. I don't think I've seen another soap baby of his
caliber. Perhaps TPTB have elicited a "Pavlov" response by having the
kid play on the set during his "days off"??
[p.s. As rigorously noted on the mailing list, Peter's
"salad bowl" / "Monk's haircut" is outrageous...
although undoubtedly cool on hot summer days. ;) ]

(2) Sonia Satra was wearing a _tight_ white skirt this episode that
definitely got my attention. ;) I think only Liz Kiefer has a better
butt... Jean Carol was doing her thing in a tight red number, too, and
the womens' attire reminded me of a past GL "carnival" episode. Satra,
Keifer and Hutchison provided some of the best "buttshots" in memory
that outing (Kiefer's routine, solo displays aside). I hope TPTB
continue to pay, um, "hommage" to fine film-making tradition, and keep
the T&A on-tap for us "connoisseurs". ;))

(3) Who was the cute redhead "extra" that Justin Deas smooched during
his "transport to WSPR" scene (diner exit)?? That was a relatively long
open-mouth kiss, and we've never seen the woman before. Just curious.
Wife??

(4) The "Soul Mate" Silver Star winning response reminded me of
Nadine's session w/a carnival seer. What was the fortune teller's remark
about a "falling star", and could it possibly impact on the storyline at
this late date (esp. considering Nadine's guilt over the Jenna
"videotape gambit")?
Additionally, Buzz using Nadine's facial expressions to zero in on
the correct answer was outrageous! That wouldn't have played on "Family
Feud". :) [Brumpt-TING!]
Of course, the Soul Mate producers have consistently shown B and N
favoritism, so... :)

(5) For those wondering about the genesis of Jenna and Vanessa's
friendship, recall a country club, "back lawn" session, where the two
discovered common ground while destroying a bottle of choice vino. :)
[Curiously, Buzz and Ross have performed the same "ritual"
(on the steps of the park townhomes - deep convo took place).]
