GL: Update for 8/8/94

VANESSA LOST AT SEA: Josh is at the pub organizing the search
for Vanessa. He phones Dylan to inform him of the search status:
no sign of Van. Enter HB and Henry. Henry looks as though he
is on the verge of heart failure. local cop informs the group a
life jacket has been found, but no Van. Josh promises to search
every cave on every small island until he finds her.
He run out to a chopper waiting to take him (a la Magnum PI)
and flies away.

Meanwhile, Matt and Van have awoken. The lovers frolic on
amongst the rocks.

Matt: When's the last time you saw the sun rise on the water?
Van: Too long ago
Matt: Maybe we should make it a day again tomorrow.

Just then, choppers can be heard approaching.

Back at the Tavern....HB tries to calm Henry down by pouring
him a drink. He tells Henry not to worry 'cause Vanessa's
a rugged woman.
HB: She fought her way through that storm like a tiger!"
But, Henry's not so sure.

Back at the Cave....
Van: I have to go out there.
Matt agrees that it's for the best. But he'll stay behind.
Van protests as he heads back into the cave.

The chopper lands and Josh runs toward the caves.
Van is shocked to see him, and the two have a joyful
reunion. Josh is ready to fly, but Van makes up an
excuse to go back into the cave alone to see Matt.
Matt's gone, but a pile of fragmented photographs
are left behind. Van gathers the photo's and leaves.

Back at the Tavern...
Hugs all around. Josh brags on himself and how
he organized the search and tracked down his
sister-in-law. He asks about the mystery man who
was also searching for Van. The man who loaned him
the boat says he was picked up on another island earlier.
"Are you sure it was the same person?" Van asks.
He assures her then hands her some Ann Taylor
casual wear to change into. Van realizes that Matt
must have given them to the man to give to Van.

Old stuffy josh has plenty to say about her casual duds
and Van threatens to wear them to work. This thrusts
the conversation into one about how events can change
a persons perspective on the world and on ones self.
The man give Vanessa "a look" and she knows he has a
clue about her and Matt.

Josh tries to pile everyone in the car, but Van says she's
staying. After the clan exits Van corners the man. She
offers to pay him for damages on the boat he lent Matt,
and asks him where the boat really turned up.
(he doesn't answer)
Van: Okay, ...tell me how you got these clothes for me?"
He tells her he picked up Matt near where she was found.

Enter Dreamy Eyes....

Matt: Now you know why I hate good-byes...you never know
when you're going to have to go through them all over again.
(Big smile from Van)
	(Matt says the CHEESIEST things!)

DAVID GETS SERIOUS/JET GETS NERVOUS: Jet, David and
Dylan are at the boarding house. All are worried about Van.
He tells them he's decided to name his land "meadowlark
Crossing" because Reva used to like to walk
through the woods and listen to the birds.
He is nervous about presenting the plans for Nick and Min's
new home. This is his chance to get Lewis Construction
back on its feet and he doesn't want to blow it.
He leaves.

Jet tells David how happy she is in her home. She tells
of happy times spent there with her parents, and shows
him a dusty 'home-sweet-home' sign her father painted
for her grandma. "I don't think I could ever leave here"
she tells him. "Not even for a half hour?" he asks.

Seems that Cat is due back in 2 days and David wants
to buy her a little surprise. The pair end up at a jewelry
store. Jet finally clues into the fact that David wants the
surprise be an engagement ring. Jet begins to freak
out.
David: Just because we're tying the knot doesn't mean
you do.

Jet goes into this spastic-freaky-tirade about how things
and people always change and 'like-like-like -why
can't people just be happy where they are?' (yawn!)
David is getting annoyed. He picks a ring and has
jet try it on. "looks nice....." Jet wigs, Karin picks up
the remote, throws it at the TV, David realizes he
can't afford a ring. Jet babbles.....me......not....ready for...
chaaannnnggges.... David tells her she'd better let
Dylan there is a future between them before she
worries about changes.

What about that proposal? What to say? Better
say something clever if you can't afford a ring.
Jet shares a story about her father's proposal to
her mom. She mentions that they were the same
ages as she and Dylan. "Seeeee!" David says.

Jet: You're missing the point. That's the last time
they were happy!

Enter Dylan with good news about building
plans. He got the thumbs up and a big fat check.
He nervously eyes the "home-sweet-home" sign
jet has been working on.

David day gets busted when he gets a post card
from Cat: change in plans, not back for a few more
weeks. Jet stops wallowing in her own self-pity
long enough to point out a bright side to David:
More time to buy a ring! But David says its more
than that. Things just don't seem the same in the
post card.... Cat signed it "miss you" instead of
love you".

Jet: She probably just wanted to make sure it got here
   in time!"
(What????? Karin throws Dr. pepper can at TV and
beans jet between the eyes)

David leaves
Jet gets teary over the thought of a David-Cat break-up

LUCY TALKS ABOUT LOVE: Buzz is at the diner. To
describe his mood as "cranky" is being very kind. As he is barking
at Nadine Lucy enters and snaps a picture. "!!@##?!! ". Nadine says
she KNOWS why he's cranky and leaves.

Lucy tells Buzz about her conversation with AM. She says it was
civil, but she didn't get what she wanted. Her expectations were
a bit higher: AM breaking down and admitting leaving her was
a big mistake. She admits that she thought their separation would
only be temporary.

Buzz: You were thinking marriage?
(she nods)
            Oh god! I didn't know.

The two hug. Buzz assures her that she will indeed find another
who she feels love for. He also tells her how their relationship
made him a better father for all of his children. They reminisce
of the time they lived in the back of a Chevy, and Buzz ponders
what he would have do differently if he had another child.

Enter Deenie who drops a letter in Lucia's lap. It's from AM.

Lucy leaves and heads for the Boarding house. She is taking
still photographs and trying not to think about AM's letter.
Enter Dylan who tells her of his plans for Nick and Min's house being
'okayed'. She tells him how lucky he is to have a great job and
relationship. She decides the letter from AM is only a chance
to get hung up on a bad thing and pitches it.

AM BLOWN UP: Alan Michael is still unconscious in a pile
of rubble. The bad men (baaaaad men) are poking around
him. The meanest man of all snaps a photo to send to Big
A. "Show him who he messed with...." The meanest man's helper
brings a box addressed to Big A from little AM's car. Inside
is a framed photo of the father and son. Meanest man
removes the photo an shreds it (Doooohhh! Bad man!)

The end.
(this show was really boring.
let's hope things get better as
we approach the fall)
