IF HE BUILDS IT, SHE WILL COME...

Courthouse: Josh and Reva enter the judge's chambers for Annie's hearing.
Reva thinks it's wrong for Annie to be getting off without a sentence, but
she doesn't want to put the children through a trial. Enter Annie and
Alan, both in foul moods.

Cooper Apartment: Buzz and Eleni chat about their plan. Buzz tells her
she has to look glamorous when they cross the Atlantic. She says don't
worry, she can handle it. She goes to her closet and pulls out a little
red number. Enter Frank, who wants to know why she needs that outfit to
visit a sick grandmother.

Diner: Ross, Dinah and Hart come in for coffee. Ross can't believe
Vanessa's still alive. He wishes he had known about it earlier, but Dinah
says he had his plate full with Reva's trial.

Dream House: Michael argues with Matt about working on the dream house.
He thinks Matt is wasting his time; Matt's convinced Vanessa will come back
looking for her dream house and know he still cares because he's finished
the house.

Real Estate Office: Vanessa Chambers has come in looking for her dream
house, but she's not convinced it exists. (Where is she getting the money
to buy a house???)

Dream House: More Michael/Matt arguing. Michael cites current psychiatric
practice about avoiding reality; Matt says get out of my way, I'm working.

Diner: Dinah's a little worried about getting no responses to her plea for
Vanessa. Ross says Vanessa will be back in no time. They hug and Ross
leaves.

Real Estate Office: The relator describes the rural town where they are
and tries to interview Vanessa to find out what kind of house she needs.
The woman sympathizes with Vanessa being separated from her husband and
children.

Courthouse: Reva and Annie spar while Josh stands in the middle,
literally. Reva tells her she doesn't deserve to be a mother, since she's
put her family through a living hell. Enter the judge, who announces he
will judge Annie.

Apartment: Eleni says she will be celebrating the Festival of the Madonna,
and she needs one fancy dress to wear. Frank thinks Eleni's acting a
little strange lately. She tries to put off his questions by coming on to
him, which makes him want to come to Greece. She's flustered; finally he
leaves.

Courthouse: Ross reminds everyone why they're in court today. The judge
asks Reva why she isn't pressing charges. Reva explains she wants to make
things easier for her kids. Annie says she didn't bring an attorney,
instead she brought Alan to vouch for her character! Annie wants to know
what more Reva wants--she's already said she's sorry. Annie launches into
a long sob story about her alcoholism and how she's seeing a psychiatrist
now. She says she wants to be a good whole woman again--Reva bursts out
laughing.

Diner: Dinah and Hart continue chatting about Vanessa. Dinah gets a phone
call from Doris Fine, the waitress at the restaurant where Vanessa drank
ice tea last week. She tells Dinah she saw Vanessa.

Dream House: More Matt/Michael sparring. Matt says he's not going to
chase after Vanessa anymore--he's going to wait for her to come home to him
because she wants to. Michael prefers a systematic, pragmatic approach to
finding Vanessa. Matt says what he and Vanessa have isn't explainable and
he's going to do things his way, thank you.

Relator: Vanessa looks at houses in a book. She flashes back to Matt
showing her the plans for the dream house last year. Vanessa decides she
doesn't want to see any of these houses.

Diner: Dinah and Doris chat. She works at Ricky's Road house at Exit 53
on the Interstate, fifty miles north of Lake Geneva. She tells her Vanessa
disappeared just before the television piece aired. They hang up and Dinah
and Hart prepare to go to look for Vanessa.

Diner: Buzz and Eleni argue. She's upset she had to lie to Frank again.
Enter Frank, ready to drive them to the airport. Eleni says no he has to
stay and watch the diner until Billy arrives. Enter Levy, giving Buzz and
Eleni a quick escape. Frank verbalizes his fears for Levy. Levy says if
he were any other guy, he'd tell him his wife must be having an affair.
But, since they're talking about Eleni, that can't be the case. Exit
Frank, leaving Levy in charge of the diner.

Courthouse: Reva apologizes for laughing, but she's having a hard time
buying Annie's crocodile tears and innocent act. More Reva/Annie sparring
while Josh sits mute. Reva wants assurances that if Annie comes anywhere
near her or her family, she can prosecute her at a later time. The judge
says it isn't quite that simple.

Airplane: Eleni and Buzz are airborne; Eleni says she and Frank have been
really happy lately--really alive.

Apartment: Levy comes upstairs to apologize for suggesting Eleni might be
being unfaithful. Frank says he isn't jealous, he just came upstairs for
his notebook. As soon as Levy leaves, Frank checks and finds the red dress
gone.

Dream House: More endless Matt/Michael conversation. Enter Dinah and
Hart, to pick up Matt so they can go get Vanessa. He refuses to go.

Relator's Office: Vanessa has drawn the dream house on paper to show the
relator what she's looking for.

Dream House: Dinah is incredulous that Matt won't come to get Vanessa.
Dinah and Hart leave and Michael admits Matt is crazy, but maybe it's what
is called for right now. The two start working together, building the
house.

Courthouse: The judge sentences Annie to visit jail (to see what its'
like), see a court-appointed psychiatrist weekly, and stay at least 100
feet away from all the Shane-Lewises. He also wants her under house arrest
at Alan's, but Alan persuades the judge to forgo the tracking bracelets.
Exit Reva and Josh. Josh says its finally over--but Reva retorts it's
never over with Annie. Outside, Alan calls someone and asks for the
financial details on Lewis Oil. Annie fumes--the thirteenth step is
REVENGE, she announces. She vows to find Reva's baby sister and hopes she
makes Reva's live a living hell. As she phones for a plane reservation to
Chicago, enter Alan, inquiring WHY?
