HIGHLIGHTS:

- Bill and Matt make up
- Dinah goes on WSPR to find her mother
- Jesse admits why he hates the Bauers
- Phillip and Starla (Harley) kiss

JESSE'S PLACE: Michelle and Jesse ease Bill down after his fight. Michelle
berates Jesse and asks him why he always takes the low road. Jesse says it's
the only road he knows. Michelle realizes that Jesse hit Bill to keep the
others from continuing to beat him. Chelle then asks Bill why he came after
her, and he tells her that his mother is alive.

CHEZ MATTESSA: Matt and Michael think through the idea that Van is alive.
Michael thinks that Dinah's idea about going on the air is a good one. Matt
is frustrated about all the near misses. Michael reassures Matt.

A DINER SOMEWHERE: Van with sunglasses half listens to the TV; the waitress
refills her glass. As the waitress makes idle chatter, Van takes her
sunglasses off, and looks more attentive. The waitress (Doris) apologizes
about the TV being on, and hopes Van doesn't mind - because her STORY is
about to come on.

WSPR: Dinah marches in announcing that the special broadcast will air in 10
minutes. Hart is with her. Hart asks if she is nervous. Dinah tells Hart
how furious she is with Rog for not telling her about her mother, and that
if she weren't there she would kill Rog. Hart tries to get Dinah to relax,
and agrees that she has reason to be angry. Hart then tries to defend Rog,
and gets Dinah to go on the air. Dinah doesn't think she knows what to say
when the cameras roll, then Hart gives her a fake horoscope. Dinah laughs,
and Hart reassures her that her mother will hear her.

A DINER SOMEWHERE: Van sees a book and remembers a conversation with Matt
where he says that even when he is not making love to her he is always
thinking of her. Van thinks of how lucky she used to be, and reads aloud the
inscription in the book - which was from Dinah - and starts to cry.

Thank you Oil of Olay for this portion of GL and a lifetime of beautiful skin!

REGENCY HOTEL: Jeffrey whistles at Jenna and she eggs him on. Jeffrey
tells Jenna to be brilliant and she says she will. Jenna says she misses
the old days of just the two of them, and Jeffrey tries to impress upon her
the importance of their lunch with Phillip and Starla. Jenna says she wants
success even more than Jeffrey does, then looks at the New York itinerary
and is impressed.  Jeffrey assures Jenna that Starla can seduce Phillip;
Jenna remains unconvinced - too much money involved. Jenna points out that
Starla is late, and Jeffrey gets angry - making it clear that Starla will be
there, and the plan will work, or there will hell to pay.

5TH ST DINER: Phillip and Harley discuss the plan, as Buzz walks by.
Phillip complains about having to wear a suit, and Harley banters back about
her high heels. Harley wonders if this is Phillip's first sting since he is
so calm. Harley warns Phillip not to look too anything: worried, upset,
etc., then musses his hair so it might appear that they have been
"friendly". Buzz jumps into the booth with them, and is worried. Buzz
warns them that the person with the most to lose is Jenna.

Phillip straightens his hair out, as he and Harley leave - with Harley
reassuring Buzz that she knows what she is doing. Phillip tells Buzz he
will take care of Harley, but she is the pro. Buzz makes an offside comment
about Harley and Mallet. Phillip wonders what Buzz was talking about; Harley
makes a quick explanation that Buzz figured it out about her situation with
Mallet, and then suggests they get into "character". They leave.

Eleni walks up behing Buzz and unintentionally scares him. Buzz laments
about Phillip and Harley going over to Jenna and Jeffrey's. Eleni warns him
not to go over and interfere. Buzz admits that he has bigger problems - and
tells Eleni about the evidence in Switzerland that Jeffrey has. Eleni wants
to know what Buzz will do about it, and he tries to call the airlines. He
explains that he has a latex fingerprint from Jeffrey, so he could deal with
it. Eleni doesn't think he can do it alone, and volunteers to go along.

JESSE'S PLACE: Chelle is trying to understand about Van and Bill is
explaining. Chelle is happy that Van was at the graduation, and tells Bill
that she felt someone was watching over her the whole day. Chelle assures
Bill that Matt will find Van. Chelle goes on about how it will feel the
same way when she finds her mother's heart. Bill gets a word in edgewise
about how he found out - walking in on a conversation between Matt and
Dinah. Chelle shows some concern about it - as Jesse looks on, Bill admits
that he didn't behave well when he found out, and Jesse agrees that everyone
has been there. Bill is upset, but Chelle thinks they didn't want to get his
hopes up; Chelle thinks Matt and Dinah understand. Bill is reassured and
leaves after he hugs Chelle.

Michelle follows Jesse after Bill leaves, and asks him about his parents:
noting that she has met Jesse's dad, but wonders about his mother. Jess
doesn't answer at first, then says he doesn't want to talk about his mom,
and especially not with Chelle.

WSPR: Dinah is getting makeup touch-ups before she goes on the air. Dinah
is snippy with the makeup person, and Hart calms her. He asks her if she
has a picture of Van to show; Dinah says she doesn't, and Hart gets out a
picture for her to show. Dinah suggests that Hart should do the spot, then
realizes she has to do it herself. The producer calls the 2 minute warning.

A DINER SOMEWHERE: Van (no sunglasses) is sitting with her head in her
hands, as the TV in the background belts out about the heat wave. Doris, the
waitress, approaches and makes small talk about the heat, and how far away
Van looks. Doris, tries to give Van some pie, and Van puts her sunglasses
back on.

WSPR: Dinah is standing in front of the camera.

Dinah makes her appeal: she apologizes for INTERRUPTING THE AFTERNOON
BROADCAST! The waitress at the "diner somewhere" is thrilled because she
loves human interest stories. Dinah says that everyone loves and misses
her. She shows a picture, and Doris sees it and recognizes it as Vanessa.
She runs out of the restaurant, but Van is already driving off.

CHEZ MATESSA: Michael assures Matt that Dinah's TV spot was good, and that
if Van heard it, she would respond. Matt thinks it's strange that Michael
makes so many comments about what Van would and would not do, and wonders
how well Michael knows Van. Michael says he was just her therapist and
friend. Matt thinks they might have been lovers, and Michael tells him that
they weren't. Michael admits that Van is a special woman, but he knew how
in love she was with Matt when he saw her face at the Lake house. Matt
wonders why Van didn't love him enough to tell him about the disease.
Michael assures him that Van didn't want to cause pain to Matt, Bill, or
Dinah. Matt says he feels left out of her life, as Bill enters and agrees
that now Matt knows how it feels.

JESSE'S PLACE: Michelle agrees that maybe Jesse doesn't have to talk about
his mother, but they could be friends. Jesse points out that he has all the
friends he needs. Michelle thought they were starting to get along and be
friends, and thinks they can go back. Jesse disagrees, and says they can't
be friends.

REGENCY HOTEL: Phillip and "Starla" arrive and Starla apologizes for being
late. Jeffrey offers everyone Bloody Marys, and Phillip tries to bow out -
saying it's too early in the day for him. Starla prompts him about being to
uptight, and he agrees to a drink - saying that he always feels like he on
vacation with her. As they sit, Jeffrey asks if his aunt has dropped the
lawsuit - Phillip denies it. Jeffrey wonders if Phillip is still trying to
hide the money. Phillip says he talked to the Spaulding accountants and
they had no ideas. Jeffrey wants to know if Phillip is asking as a
potential investor, and Phillip says he might be. Jeffrey says he has an
idea, but it would require that they all go to New York in a couple of days;
and Phillip could make some money. Phillip plays along and says he thought
it was just a shelter, not a profit deal. Jeffrey assures him that it could
be profit making if he goes along quickly; Jenna backs Jeffrey up. Phillip
balks at the timeline, but makes it clear that the money is cash. Starla
tries to egg Phillip on, as Jenna and Jeffrey go to the patio. After Jenna
and Jeffrey go to the patio, Phillip gives Harley a look.

DINER: Buzz is trying to convince Eleni that she cannot go to Switzerland
with him. Eleni tells him that he will need someone he can trust, and who
better than her. Buzz reminds Eleni that Frank and Marina might miss her.
Eleni tells him that she already had a trip to Greece planned; she could
drop off Marina with her family and then join Buzz in Switzerland. Buzz
tries to tell eleni what a good wife and mother she is; she interjects that
that is not all that she is, and that the whole thing is a family effort.
Buzz agrees to let her come along, and Eleni hugs him. As she hugs Buzz,
Frank walks in wondering what the good news is.

CHEZ MATESSA: Bill apologizes to Matt for getting angry; Matt interjects
that he didn't want to say anything until he knew for sure, and Bill says he
understands. Michael watches the scene. Matt gladly accepts Bill's apology
and they hug. Matt introduces Michael to Bill, and explains who he is.
Michael tells Bill how much he heard about him from Van, and how proud she
was. Dinah and Hart come back to the house and wonder if Vanessa has
called. Bill wonders why, and Dinah explains that she was on the air.

JESSE'S PLACE: Michelle follows Jesse around wondering what is going on
with the mixed messages. Jesse says he has enough friends. Michelle tries
to explain that even though the Bauers are well known, none of them think
they are better than anyone else. Jesse doesn't want to get into it, but
Michelle thinks he already is in it. She goes on about how they were
getting to know each other and maybe like each other. Michelle admits that
it might not be cool, but she likes him, and wants to know why he won't be
honest with her. Jesse wants to know if she REALLY wants to know what he
has against the Bauers. She says yes.

Jesse admits that he likes Michelle, but that it doesn't matter because of
who she is. Chelle still doesn't understand why Jesse is hung up on the
Bauer thing. Jesse asks again if she really wants to know; then tells
Michelle that her father killed his mother.

DINER: Frank is thrilled that Eleni and Buzz are getting along, and the
timing is perfect - because he needs a favor from Buzz. Frank talked to
Levy and got 5 days off - so he can go to Greece with her. Eleni is shocked
as says that Frank has to stay!

REGENCY HOTEL: Phillip and Starla chat in each others arms, and "Starla"
tells him is not making it easy, and Phillip tells her she is coming on too
strong. They kiss, then look startled - as Jenna and Jeffrey look on.

CHEZ MATESSA: Dinah gets depressed thinking that Van should have called
already. Matt paces, and Michael tries to reassure everyone about how happy
Van was to come back to Springfield. Michael explains that Van was happiest
at the house Matt was building; but it appeared he had stopped and Van
thought he gave up on her. Matt gets an idea that if he starts building
again, Van will come back.

PAY PHONE: Van starts to make an airline reservation, but can't think of
where to go, saying that there is no where she wants to go.
