Cari - I tried to send to r.a.t.s. and it didn't work, so I'm sending it
to you and maybe you'll have better luck

Paulette

As some of you may know, Joan "The English Chick" is going to be unable
to do the Monday updates due to dr.'s orders for the time being.
Margaret, Lane and myself have volunteered to do the updates on a
rotating basis and I'll be starting off. This is my first time doing
updates, so don't flame me too much. What an episode to start with!
Well here it goes:

The Boardinghouse: Blake and Dinah exchange sarcastic barbs while
trying to fight the heat. Things get really "heated" between the two of
them, when Dinah says that Blake should stop blaming everything on Dinah
because it is ruining Dinah's life. Blake then replies that she might
say something that might surprise Dinah.

The Marler House: Matt is trying to convince Ross to listen to him
about Dinah and her role in the kidnapping, but Ross contends that Blake
is being irrational and says if Blake wasn't his wife, he would sue her
for slander for saying those things about Dinah's role in the
kidnapping. Matt then replys: "You'd lose".

Spaulding Enterprises: Tangie demands to know how Alan's button wound
up in Brent's room. Alan claims to not know what she is talking about,
but Tangie continues to badger him about what he is doing with Brent.
She then pulls open his briefcase, with wads of money falling out.

A-M's Yacht: A-M is on the phone with Brent, who is demanding that A-M
meet him because Brent doesn't have much time and wants to tell A-M the
truth about his father. A-M doesn't believe him, but Brent implores him
to come alone and A-M finally relents. The camera then shows the shocked
look on Lucy's face.

 																									      Intro

A-M's yacht: Lucy wants to go with A-M after he finally tells her it
was Brent. Lucy says that it's dangerous, you can't trust him and it's
a setup. A-M goes over to the desk to take out a gun that he says he's
only taking as a precaution. Lucy hopes that this isn't some guy
thing/macho showdown and goes to call the police or at least call the
Cooper brigade, but A-M stops her saying her promised to keep her safe
and he will live up to that promise and all this will end tonight. Lucy
begs him not to go and says she does not want to lose him and to A-M as
he's out the door, Lucy exclaims: "I love you!" A-M stops, turns
around and Lucy says again with a small smile "I love you."

The Marlers: Ross continues to be indignant and refuses to believe that
Dinah had anything to do with the kidnapping. Ross maintains what Matt
said, that Dinah was handcuffed, at gunpoint and terrified. Matt
contends that the only reason Dinah come to town was for money, but Ross
says she came for her family and she did save Peter. Matt admits she
did save Peter by keeping him all night so Vicktor couldn't get him, but
Dinah managed to parlay $70,000 into 2 million that she was going to
split 50/50 with Vicktor. Ross still doesn't want to hear it, but Matt
does not like what this lie is doing to Ross and Blake. Ross then
contends Blake has been saying this for a while about Dinah and Matt
says maybe you should believe her.

The Boardinghouse: Blake and Dinah continue to trade barbs: Blake:
Great life before you came to town; Dinah: Father Fixation, another
fight with Daddy. Blake: You would love to hear we are through and
Blake contends Dinah can no longer play with everyone's lives: Vanessa,
Ross, Blake and she maintains that the truth will come out. Dinah asks
about Matt and Blake says its too late Dinah.

A-M's yacht: A-M walks over to Lucy and says "You love me", he is
amazed at the thought. Lucy says she loves him and doesn't want him to
go. A-M says he has to and that they have too much to do together; he
loves her too much and he has to give her the life she deserves. A-M
contends that he will be back and after he leaves Lucy with tears
streaming down her face prays to God for A-M to be ok.

Spaulding Enterprises: Tangie is incredulous that Alan was using this
money to pay off Brent. How could have an alliance with a rapist, after
what he did to Lucy; did he cook the books with Brent? Alan maintains
that he did not know Brent was a rapist at the time and he wasn't going
to be tried anyway and the money would bring justice. Tangie says Alan
tell the truth or she's out of his life for good. Alan admits he used
Brent to get to A-M.

The Docks: Brent and A-M meet at the docks. Brent, holding the side
where he was shot says "Here we are again".

																											     Halftime

A-M's yacht: Lucy is upset, pacing; she goes to use the phone and
stops. She remembers in a black and white sequence what happened the
last time A-M and Brent met on the docks. Lucy tries to forget that
scene and again goes to call someone, Cutter enters surprising Lucy.

The Docks: Brent wonders if A-M is shocked to see someone he thought he
killed and says he needs to get things off his chest and A-M needs to
know the truth. A-M pulls out the gun and points it at Brent and
searches Brent for a weapon; Brent has nothing on him. Brent says he
doesn't want to die without telling the truth about A-M's dad. But does
A-M want to hear it.

Spaulding Enterprises: Tangie wants to know if Alan wanted to make A-M
look bad and Alan admits he did but wants to explain before Tangie
judges him. He gives the sob story about being in prison and everything
being stolen away from him,in exile, etc. Tangie is in disbelief that
all this has to do with Alan's greed, need for power and control and has
nothing to do with the love of family. Alan says nothing matters since
he's been with Tangie, but Tangie asks what matters to your son, does
Alan even care? Alan says he felt shut out when A-M became president
and was an easy target for Brent. Alan felt the end justified the means
b/c it would get him to work with A-M, but everything changed when Brent
held Tangie captive and now A-M is working with him. Tangie is shocked
Alan could ruin his son's self-confidence the way he did, but Alan says
he has tried to make it right again, but Tangie retorts: The hell you
have.

The Marlers: Ross wants to know why Matt is coming forth now and why
did he lie to the police. Matt again says he is sorry what this is
doing to Ross and Blake and says Ross can handle it. Ross says what
about Vanessa? Matt says Vanessa would be distraught if she knew what
Dinah did for money. Ross contends that Dinah has been perfect since
the kidnapping, but Matt says that is because he has been holding this
over her head. Dinah then enters with a smile on her face.
Dinah asks innocently what Matt is doing there. Matt says he told the
truth about the kidnapping. Ross asks if it is true; Dinah is shocked
that Daddy could believe him and that Matt pretended to be her friend.
Matt leaves and Dinah says how could he believe Matt Reardon and doesn't
want Ross to let Blake and Matt badmouth her. Dinah is sure that Blake
is determined to hurt her, when Blake who has everything should want to
help her, since Dinah has nothing. She says she's just trying to get
her life back after the kidnapping and begs Ross to believe her, says
she loves him and would not lie to him. Dinah says all that matters
that her daddy believes her. She then claims that Matt hit on her and
is worried that Dinah will tell Vanessa and that is why Matt is
badmouthing Dinah. Ross then says Matt made a pass at you? Dinah: You
believe me don't you and Ross says I did until now.

A-M's yacht: Lucy wants to know why Cutter isn't out looking for Brent.
Cutter wants to know where the Coopers are; he doesn't need the "Cooper
Vigilante Committee" wrecking his investigation. When Lucy says they
went home, Cutter asks for A-M. Lucy tries to cover for A-M and says
she's not alone since Cutter is there as well as the many cops that are
around. Cutter warns Lucy that A-M may not be so lucky a second time
with Brent and shouldn't try to be the hero. Lucy says A-M is out on
Spaulding business. Cutter leaves and hopes A-M gets home safely.

The Docks: A-M wants more proof that Alan had Brent cook the books and
that he gave Brent access codes. A-M still does not believe him and
Brent says what does he have to gain at this point. Brent says A-M was
distracted by Lucy. A-M yells at him not to mention her name. Brent
says the rape helped them cook the books since A-M was distracted. A-M
still doesn't believe him. Cassie enters with a doctor and demands to
know what A-M is doing there. He said Brent was telling him bull about
Alan, but Cassie says Alan was using them and she can prove it.

The Boardinghouse: Matt gives Blake the report. Matt says Dinah was in
victim mode and tried to deny it. Matt didn't stay but Ross looked numb
when he left. Blake says if Ross believes Dinah, Blake and Ross will be
finished. Blake thanks Matt and says she needs to be alone.

The Marler House: Ross rails at Dinah: no remorse, two-time criminal.
Dinah says no one was hurt, but Ross says the police were looking for
her when they could have been helping others and what about what this
did to the family, Ross and Vanessa. Ross then screams: "I could
throttle you!" Ross says how he tried to help Vanessa cope during the
day, but at night he would come home and cry to God that he wanted her
back. Ross demands to know why she did it: was it the attention, the
money. How could Dinah be so callous and disconnected? Ross blames
himself and that he failed as a father since he excused her because of
her adoption and her childhood, but he rails at Dinah that she will now
grow up. Ross says he feels like a fool and she is to never say another
word against Blake. He then orders her to get out and says it will be a
long time before he will ever trust her again. Dinah leaves as Ross
screams again: "Get out!"

Spaulding Enterprises: Tangie wants to know why did Alan become
partners with a rapist? Was he going to use the hush money to get rid
of Brent? Alan says the money was going to get Brent out of everybody's
lives. Tangie says Alex was right to laugh in Tangie's face when she
defended Alan and said she cared about him. Alan asks Tangie to please
understand and to not leave.

The Docks: Cassie shows A-M the passports/new identity Alan was giving
her and Brent along with the money. All a delirious Brent can do is
mumble something about Costa Rica and the truth. Cassie rails at A-M:
Look at what you did; he admired you . A-M says it was Brent's gun and
he did it to himself. A-M says that accusing Alan of doctoring the
books is one thing, but trying to give Brent and Cassie new identities
is another. Brent then asks A-M to tell Lucy he is sorry about the rape
and is sorry he got so out of control. Brent then collapses as a
shocked A-M looks on. Cassie lays on top of Brent as he dies and tells
A-M to get out of there because he has caused their family enough pain.
A-M walks off the docks extremely disturbed.

The Final Scene: A piano montage show the different characters and
their despondency: Blake at the boardinghouse, Ross at home, Dinah
crying against the door; Alan and Tangie, but Tangie walks away; Lucy on
the yacht her head in her hands, A-M arrives and they run into each
other's arms. Lucy and A-M fall to the floor.
