It's "What, No Sign of Lucy Cooper?" Day in Springfield....

ANNIE'S APARTMENT
=================

Clothing is strewn everywhere and Annie, wearing a baseball
cap, is packing. Josh arrives and marvels at the mess she's
managed to make in a few short hours. She tells him she
opened drawers she hasn't opened in ages, so he's getting the
entire package. They smooch. [I gather they're moving in
together? When I'm not updating, I FF over them, so I have no
idea.]

FLETCH & NICK'S PLACE
=====================

Fletch shows Nick the wedding guest list and asks him to be
ruthless in paring it down; Fletch knows there are way too
many people on it for a secret wedding. Ben enters, greeting his
dad and roomie as "freundes" ("friends" -- apparently he's
taking German in summer school). He asks if it's true that Rog
is supposed to think the wedding is taking place in San
Francisco.

Holly enters, and while she and Fletch hug, Nick tells Ben that
everyone else in Springfield thinks Folly are on the outs.
Comprehension dawns on Ben's face. "Mrs. Spaulding isn't going
to be happy," he observes. Everyone glares at him.

BOARDINGHOUSE
=============

Bridget can't believe the police station phone is still busy. She
slams things around and starts doing dishes. David enters and
makes small talk, but Jet isn't with him. "Someone's in a bad
mood," David says, displaying new depths of intellect. He tries
to help clean up but Jet yells at him: she doesn't need his help.
He drove Kirk/Skunk away, that kind of help she doesn't need.
Making a second intellectual leap, David realizes she's still
worried about Matt.

COPSHOP
=======

Cutter shuts the door to his office and asks Matt if Dinah had
anything to gain by being kidnapped. Matt stares through the
windowshades at Dinah outside, as she tries to get her message
across to him. Blake, Ross, Roger and Vanessa look on.

The cops bring Viktor in, shouting. Ross and Van rush to
Dinah's side as Roger smirks. Viktor insists that the kidnapping
was all Dinah's idea and she's going to pay for it. Blake looks on
in astonishment as Dinah faints in Roger's arms.

Roll lighthouse!

Roger hands the semi-conscious Dinah over to her anxious
parents [this solicitous overprotective thing with Ross and Van
is really getting annoying!] but the ploy worked: Cutter and
Matt emerge from the office as Viktor shouts that the swoon
was as much an act as everything Dinah does. Blake listens
with interest. Dinah "revives" [It's hard to tell, for once, but I'm
pretty sure she's faking it], mumbling "Is Matt all right?" Blake
tells Cutter he should listen to Viktor.

A couple of reporters enter and Cutter grumbles at them.
Viktor points them toward Dinah: "She's Sarah Bernhardt!"
[Second Sarah reference in the past few days. What does this
mean?!?!] Dinah tells "Daddy" she can't bear to be in the same
room with Vik. Ross and Van assure her that Viktor will be
taken care of. Feebly, Dinah calls Matt's name.

Cutter tells Ross he'll have to keep Dinah for some more
questioning. Ross says no way, not until Viktor's gone. Vik
continues to insist that Dinah is culpable. Cutter orders him
taken to a holding cell. As the cops wrestle him away, he yells
that Dinah's the one who belongs in a cell. The reporters get all
this down with great interest.

Vanessa turns to hug Matt, but Ross pulls her away for a
confab. Suddenly regaining her strength, Dinah yanks on Matt's
arm and brings his face close to hers, so she can beg him not to
tell Cutter the whole truth. "Please, Matt!" He looks indecisive.
Cutter walks up behind them. "Matt, can I get your statement
now?" Dinah gives him a pleading look.

FLETCH'S
========

"What does Alex have to say about this?" Holly asks
suspiciously. Fletch thinks Ben is implying that Alex is onto
their plan, and if Alex knows she'll tell Rog, and then
everything is screwed...Ben admits that Alex keeps pumping
him for info when he comes over to swim in her pool. [Kink-EE!]
Fletch gets mad, but Ben insists he's not so stupid; Alex only
*thinks* he's her spy. Nick says it's not Ben's fault, but Alex is
ruthless; she has a need to control Fletch. He doesn't think his
mother really loves Fletch. Fletch tells Ben to stop taking
presents from Alex: "Your days as a double agent are over!"
"Jawohl, mein papa!" Ben replies cheerfully. ;) Nick stops them
and asks Ben how good an actor he is. Fletch doesn't like the
sound of it, but Nick tells him it's all for love...

ANNIE'S
=======

Josh finds an old Renaissance-art calendar and tries to trash it,
but Annie stops him, saying she saves them. They argue over
art. Josh finds a Scrabble game and proclaims himself a
champion. He digs through the letters and manages to spell "I
LOV YO." Annie laughs. They get serious and discuss all the
obstacles they've had to overcome. Annie is sure that's all
behind them. "It's just you and me and smooth sailing." Smooch.

HOSPITAL
========

Somewhere tropical (you can tell cuz of the soft lighting and
stucco walls) Reva awakes, clad in white with a white bandage
around her head, in a bed. An unseen man with a foreign
accent (Italian?) welcomes her back to the land of the living.
"You're going to live!" She smiles happily.

Fat-free hot dogs?! Every week something new!

ANNIE'S
=======

Josh notes that Annie doesn't have any CDs, only records. He
checks out her music tastes and discovers she's rather eclectic.
He enumerates the many contradictions that make up Annie.
"What planet are you from again?" "Peoria," she replies
[ROTFL!] and tells him that when they first met, she was sure
he was the type who got his kicks out of making babies. Oops,
no, what she said was "making babies *cry*" ;) But now she
thinks he's a catch. He makes fun of her fuzzy pink slippers,
and she defends them. Josh gets mushy. [I don't think y'all
really appreciate when I'm doing for you here.....*gag*]

BOARDINGHOUSE
=============

David and a still-touchy Bridget discuss the kidnapping. She's
been listening to the radio and hasn't heard anything. She can't
believe they haven't called her about her own brother. They
change the subject to Skunk, and David first claims that maybe
Skunk isn't gone, then opines that it's better off this way.
Bridget reiterates how tired she gets with being a responsible
little woman, landlady, supermom, restauranteur, etc.... She
admits that Skunk isn't in Dylan's league..."Who am I kidding, he
wasn't even in Hart's league, and that's really not saying
much!" They laugh. Jet doesn't think she'll ever find the perfect
guy. David assures her Mr. Right is right around the corner, a
cross between Rhett Butler and Brad Pitt. [My hero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]
David describes this guy as romantic yet dangerous, a shopper
in supermarkets: "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a cornflake."
Jet groans and quickly changes the topic to David's ideal
woman. He winces.

COPSHOP
=======

Vanessa has magically materialized behind Dinah, stroking her
hair, as the previous scene continues. Dinah continues to
make significant faces at Matt as Cutter calls for him. Blake fumes
and Roger looks bored. Matt tells Cutter he can give his statement
right here in front of everyone.

Matt tells Cutter's tape recorder about finding Dinah chained to
the sofa; about their first botched escape; their sojourn in the
coal bin; their second botched escape; the trip to the railcar;
and the rest of it, up to his car ride with Vik. "Thanks to Roger,
we didn't get very far," he finishes, having made no mention of
Dinah's involvement.

The reporters come over and ask Matt to elaborate on his story.
Ross pulls Cutter aside and asks him to let Dinah get some sleep
before answering more questions. The reporters grab Cutter
and Rog for statements.

Blake grabs Matt and demands to know what's going on. She's
sure Dinah was involved. Why is he hiding the facts? Matt
claims everything he said was true. "Then it's what you didn't
say," Blake cannily observes. Matt looks over his shoulder at Dinah,
who gives him a disgusting puppy-dog smile.

Power Rangers: yet another reason to avoid McDonald's!

BOARDINGHOUSE
=============

Jet describes David's perfect woman: a cross between a
doctor/lawyer type and a go-go dancer. He likes the idea.

The phone rings. It's Matt. He tells her everything's OK, they're
heading to Vanessa's house. Jet agrees to meet him there. She
hangs up and flies out, leaving David hanging.

COPSHOP
=======

Ross bids Vanessa a hasty goodbye and ushers Dinah out, past
the greedy reporters. Matt and Van prepare to leave, pausing
to invite Roger along as soon as the cops are done with him.
They leave and Blake tells Rog how proud she is of him; she's
sure Mom will be too. Rog grins.

READE HOME
==========

Ben insists he can do "it," Nick says sure he can, Fletch says no
way. He tells Nick he doesn't like telling Ben to lie. Ben says it's
not lying: he's just giving Alex some misinformation to send her
and Rog in the wrong direction. Fletch still doesn't like it. Holly
tells him to regard it as a practical joke. The tide of public
opinion sways Ben's way. Fletch sends Ben to bed and Nick
exits hastily, leaving the happy couple to discuss the plan some
more. Holly assures Fletch it will work out. "I hope once we're
married, Roger Thorpe is out of our lives forever," Fletch thinks
wishfully, and they hug.

Another day, another stupid AT&T commercial. They must be
really desperate.

Fletch makes a mysterious phone call. Holly tells him she has
Blake on the mind; she really wants her daughter at the
wedding. Fletch thinks she's not thrilled (i.e. having second
thoughts) and she whacks him rather hard. He rubs his arm as
they make mushy small-talk. Holly is determined that the
wedding will be perfect. "And whatever Roger's reaction is
going to be, it'll be too late." Fletch avers for the thousandth
time that he doesn't care what Rog does. "He can show up for
the wedding for all I care!" he teases. They smooch.

OUTSIDE LEWIS HOME
==================

Rog tells Blake he's been thinking about what attracted (note
past tense) Holly to Fletch. Blake insists this is silly thinking
since Folly are a thing of the past, but Rog asks her to help him
figure out what Fletch offered Holly that he can't. Mid-heart-
to-heart, Vanessa emerges with Matt and tells Rog he's the
guest of honor. Rog gets modest. Matt thanks him too, and Rog
tells Matt he's the real hero. Jet arrives and gives Matt a big
hug, talking a mile a relieved minute. Her crystal ball must
have told her what went down, cuz she thanks Rog too.

Inside, Bill thinks it's cool that Dinah stood up to the evil Vik.
Henry has heard bad things about Vik. Ross assures him Vik
will be in jail a long time, as Dinah tells her little brother that
Matt and Rog were the really cool ones.

Van ushers Rog in to great fanfare. Henry exclaims, "Speak of
the....." "Go ahead, say it," Rog says genially. He and Henry shake
hands. Grudgingly, Ross too offers Roger his hand and his
thanks.

Dinah steps forward and makes a little speech about how much
she owes to Rog and how glad she is to be part of the family.
She turns around and adds that she needs to thank "my
mother's fiance" for his help as well. She hugs Matt, and he
whispers, "Don't forget I did this for your mother." They part,
and Dinah grins hugely at the family.

Post-commercial, Blake continues to look suspiciously at Dinah
and Matt. Bridget comes downstairs with Peter, who gets an
even bigger hero's welcome. Rog hugs him and then to Dinah, who
cuddles him happily. Peter smiles with delight.

Jet tells Van that Shayne is still asleep upstairs, and Van and
Ross tell her about Vik's original plan to take Peter. Jet walks
over to where Dinah is trying to feed Peter a cookie, but is
actually being fed herself instead :) Jet takes Peter back and
starts to cry as she thanks Dinah for risking her life to save
Peter. (He's such a great little actor, he goes from happy and
squealing to quiet and clingy when the moment requires. I love
Peter!!!!) Dinah tells Jet she resented Peter at first, but once she
almost lost her family she realized how much it means to her.

Van tells Dinah she knows it's a little late, but she really does
love her, and she hates to think about all the lost years. Matt
watches stone-faced.

ANNIE'S
=======

Josh stares out the window until Annie calls him back to earth.
He tells her to look at the full moon. They moongaze and
cuddle. Josh says that according to HB, each crater represents a
sorrow of someone on earth. Annie thinks he really is "a glass-
half-empty kinda guy." She says that after she learned the
moon wasn't made of green cheese, she decided you should make
wishes when you saw the moon and they'd come true.
Josh makes a wish, but Annie won't let him tell her what it is.
They close their eyes and wish together.

HOSPITAL
========

Reva holds the mysterious doctor's hand and asks him how
long she's been sleeping. "Since the party." He tells her she fell
and hit her head. She touches her head and remembers "going
somewhere," seeing people. She can't remember. The doctor
assures her it'll all come back to her in time.

BOARDINGHOUSE
=============

Bridget enters with Peter, and they greet David, who has been
cleaning. Jet thanks him for cleaning, and for trying to cheer
her up. She tells Peter it's his bedtime, and he nods in
agreement. Before going upstairs, she tells David the perfect
man they discussed earlier doesn't really exist.

ANNIE'S
=======

They stare into each other's eyes. "Yeah," Josh says succinctly.
Another long moment, then he noticeting late. He offers
to help with the packing, but stops in mid-sentene spelling out the
words "Marry me." He says it's amazing, cuz that's what he just
wished for. He takes Annie's hand and her to marry him
and be the mother of his children. Tears run down her cheeks
and she says yes. They hug and kiss.

READES
======

Folly smooching. She compliments his kissing technique (world-
class ;) ) and he asks her to stay the night. She's tempted, but
she says not so close to the wedding. More smooching, and she
makes her escape.

LEWIS HOME
==========

Rog bids everyone goodnight. Blake looks on as Ross again
shakes Rog's hand and thanks him..."but still stay away from
my daughter," Ross adds, with a touch of humor overlaying his
seriousness. Blake gives Rog a warning look and he leaves. Ross
and Blake, too, take their leave.

Dinah tells Vanessa she needs some fresh air and goes outside.
Van tells Matt she really, really loves him. She leaves to check
on Shayne, and Matt goes outside to talk to Dinah. He tells her
she made a nice speech; she insists it was all true. He says she
got away with a big one, but she better not think she can do it
again. If she ever hurts Vanessa again, she's in for it..............

That's all folks!!
