Status: R

...I thought of a really funny scenario involving
Ross coming out of his bedroom, strolling to the
front door to get the morning newspaper, turning,
and finding O.J. Simpson asleep on the sofa ("BLAKE!!").
Perhaps I'll explore this in another (trial-bound) update... ;)

   Spaulding Enterprises.
Ross arrives for his a.m. AM-lawsuit [Brumpt-TING!] skullsession
w/Alex, and gives her the bad news concerning her nephew's pre-dawn
quizzing of Blake (in regards to Alan). Alexandra expresses fear of an
unholy alliance between her brother and AM (and ensuing war), and warns
Ross that Blake could possibly be hurt in the crossfire.
Why? When Alan was incarcerated, his holdings were placed in trust,
the value of which (via the skill of Alex and Vanessa) has since
doubled.
Philip, along w/ Al and Vanessa, was one of the original trustees,
but during his unfortunate institutionalization (and during which time
he remained married to Blake), Blake became a temp trustee. Phil was
never re-instated [!], and so the Blake-ster is now a de facto member of
the triumverate Alan is going to put the squeeze on for a signature (to
be applied to a document releasing the holdings), in an all-out attempt
to regain his fortune.
A decision is made to keep Blake in the dark about these
developments, until Alan decides to "make a move". :)))

   Alan's lair.
A and his Number One (Susan) are discussing the possible
ramifications of Alan Michael's fall-out w/Alex. Alan decides to
simultaneously test the loyalty of his son, and the intentions of his
sister. He begins by preparing a mystery letter (bearing his former
prison's letterhead) to be delivered to Alexandra...

[C]:

Ed's Palace of Grouchensian Delights. ;)
Blake, in full "Betty Crocker"-mode and laden with baked goods,
transports in on Alan Michael, who's just finishing up a call to Philip.
Seems his brother doesn't have a clue about the brewing tempest between
their father and Alex (and hasn't been contacted by Alan in over a
year). Thus, AM concludes he may be in the "driver's seat", paternal
favor-wise.
Blake exits (AM spots a note informing Michelle to meet Ed 'N Eve at
the Towers), and Alan Michael places a phone call to mom --- Hope Bauer!

[A]:
---

   Tower's Club.
Action on several "fronts". [Brumpt-TING!] ;)
Blake appears for a luncheon date, but Tangie hasn't shown yet, so
she says hello to Ed, Eve and Michelle, and exits to make a quick "I
love you" call to Ross.
Ed leaves _his_ table to answer a page from Cedars, and Eve discovers
that Michelle was pressured into buying an unwanted bra during a pre-
lunch shopping expedition. :) The Eve-ster decides to "take matters
into her own hands", and she and Michelle return to the store (where
_two_ styles of "WonderBra" are purchased, with an impromtu buy of some
clogs to follow. :) ).

Enter a pissed-off Alan Michael, who quickly discovers from Ed that
the reason he couldn't contact Hope, is because she's spent the last
eight weeks in rehab in Switzerland (he does eventually get her Euro
phone number from his uncle) [!].
Meanwhile, in the basement parking garage, Alan and Susan arrive, hot
on the trail of AM. Susan is sent to the Towers Club on recon patrol.
Tangie transports in, spots Alan, and is tricked into believing his
Mercedes has overheated. :) Some sexually-oriented, engine-based double
entendres ensue, and T fires that baby up in short order. ;)
Exiting the scene, she momentarily leaves her purse behind, and Alan
pilfers her wallet (thus learning her identity).
Upstairs, she and Blake discover the loss, and head out to track down
the wallet. Blake pulls garage duty, but fails to spot Alan (hunkered
down on the floor of the auto). She does gather Ross, however, who joins
her and Tangie for lunch (desserts all around ;) ).
Alan Michael and Susan exchange pregnant glances. :)

[E,F]:
-----

   Late morning.
Nick and Mindy arrive in the dining area, and are greeted by Donna
and a very hearty brunch: "Jethro Bodine"-sized portions of scrambled
eggs and chicken-fried steak. :)
Indigestion quickly threatens, however, and hovers over the repast
like thunderclouds over a summer outing, when Mindums immediately
expresses displeasure with the living conditions (#243).
Bottom line: she wants her own digs, aka nest, aka house.
Nick notes that he's had the quality time he needed with his mom, and
agrees to start building (they contact Dylan, and firm-up his former
"dream house" site).

As they leave to inspect the building site, Alan enters!
He briefly scopes-out his old stomping grounds, and slips his
"mystery envelope" into Alex's mail pile.
That may turn out to be an unnecessary move, because Alex suddenly
arrives, pausing in the doorway of the study only long enough to bark
some orders to Donna.

I wonder what caliber of "Avon calling!" imitation Alan can muster on
such short notice... ;)
   Cliffhanger!
