Guiding Light Update for Wednesday, June 11, 1997

The trial is going on full force with everyone, especially
Ross in shock at Blake's outburst that Reva isn't lying;
Annie is.

The judge calls order in the courtroom and takes Ross,
Griffin, and Blake into his Chambers to see what Blake
has to say. They return to the courtroom in a few
minutes and the judge asks Blake to take the stand.

Ross asks Annie if what Blake is saying is true and
if there is anything she should tell him. Annie,
(looking like a deer caught in headlights) tells Ross
that Blake is lying and there is nothing he should
know except she is telling him everything.

Blake takes the stand and Griffin questions her.
Blake tells the courtroom, much to Annies dismay,
that Annie had her bug her and Ross' telephone
and that Annie had her steal personal files on
Reva out of Ross' files so she could plant a trail
that she was Reva's long lost sister.

Blake also tells the courtroom that she has know
Reva a long time and they aren't close friends
but she couldn't stand by any longer and watch
her be taken from her children, when it was
really Annie who was the bad seed.

Ross is furious with Blake and she keeps telling
him she loves him and that she is sorry but he
is unmoved. Blake and Reva are both crying throughout
Blake's testimony and Annie is just plain in shock
that Blake has come forward. Alan keeps telling
Annie not to worry that Fran is taken care of and
whatever Blake says they will make her out to be
lying.

Blake continues her testimony by telling the jury
Annie had herself artificially inseminated after
she cut wholes in her diaphram and couldn't pregnant
with Josh. Blake tells how Annie was inseminated
and told her she was going to pass it off as Josh's
child to save her marriage. Blake tells that Annie
tried to make out like she was Reva's sister because
she knew Reva would stay out of her marriage to
keep from hurting her long lost sister.

The jury and the courtroom are in shock at Blake's
testimony but Josh isn't there to hear any of it.
Annie tells Alan she is glad Josh won't hear all
of what Blake has said. (how Annie thinks Josh
won't read about it in the paper or hear about
it from the 100 people in the courtroom is beyond me).

Blake testify's she is coming forward now because
Reva doesn't deserve to go to prison. She says
that the reason she didn't come forward before was
because she didn't want to ruin any chance she
had of getting her husband back.

Griffin finishes and they recess for a few minutes
to give Ross a chance to get ready to cross examine.
Ross asks Annie again for the truth and she swears
Blake is the one lying that she has nothing to hide.

Ross begins his cross examination of Blake by saying
that they shouldn't believe anything she has said
since she has told so many lies of her own.

During all this, Josh is at the doctor's office
trying to see the doctor but the nurses' say he
is out of town and can't be reached. Josh gets
upset when neither of them will tell him if the
baby was dead before the fall. He also tells
them he wasn't with Annie that day and that he
is her husband. They disagree saying her husband
came with her (which was Alan in disguise). Josh
knows it was Alan but can't prove it.

Josh runs home to get Billy but find Marah instead.
She has run away from Uncle Rusty so she can see
her mama. This was a very touching scene with
her and Josh. She begs to be able to see her mama
that she loves her. She tells Josh about people
in a store talking bad about Reva and how that hurts
her. Josh calms her down, calls Rusty to tell him
she is okay and calls Michelle to come babysit so
he can go back to court. He and Marah talk a long
time about being a family and about how she shouldn't
have lied to Rusty and run away. (it was a good scene)
Marah cried and asked her daddy to please not be mad
at her but she had to see if her mama was okay.
Josh promises her they will be a family again and that
Reva is not going to jail. Marah tells him he can't
promise that even if he wants to. They talk a little
about her being on a bus by herself and how dangerous
that was. She told him she sat beside a nun and didn't
even talk to her. Josh explains that isn't the point
that she could have been hurt or kidnapped. Marah cries
and says the only thing she could think of was her
mama and getting to her.

Out in the courtroom hall Holly and Roger are fighting
about Blake coming forward. Roger tells Holly that
she can't stay away from him that she follows him around
even if it means fighting with him so she can be near
him. Holly tells him he is delusional and she loves
her husband. Roger grabs her and kisses her and then
it switches back to the trial room where Ross is
ready to cross examine Blake

(That's how the show ended.......)
