Guiding Light Update

We open...

At cedar's, Phillip walks in on a Rick and Annie hug. Annie wafts out,
Phillip starts wink-wink, nudge-nudging Rick.

At Casa Bloss, Blake is spotting, tells Ross.

In the Spaulding Mansion, Amanda leads Alan by the nose, egging him on
to crow about his successful manipulation of the AM, Lucy, etc., knowing
all the while that AM listens in horror from the stairs. AM announces
his presence.

While watching Hart's car sink into the quarry, Roger has a convenient
flashback to the supposed shooting. (Good acting by Zaslow during all
this, IMO.) At the makeshift Thorpe Graveyard, Hart's hand rises up out
of the grave, and a laughing/crying Dinah helps him dig his way out.
"Remind me to change my will, I want to be cremated."

Commercials

Hart and Dinah have one of those convenient conversations that summarize
the past couple days while explaining their plot. Fake blood,
compressed air, slow breaths. Roger is heard retruning, and those wacky
kids quickly rebury Hart. "What are you doing with my son?" (Dinah
should have said 'Necrophilia.', just to see what would happen.)

Blake panics some more, Ross does the comforting Big Daddy thing. Let's
go to the hospital!

Phillip keeps teasing Rick about the hug, and encourages his buddy to go
after the married chick. (How old is Phillip?) Rick angsts about how
his good judgment goes out the window around Phillip. (How old is
Rick?) Phillip whines about AM's scrapbook of Phillip clippings, and
the Four A's, etc, etc. "I can't even have a normal conversation with
anyone, I'm always looking for souble meanings in everything." "Isn't
that pretty much status quo with your family?" (Any hope this could be
like Murder on the Orient Express, and all four A. Spaulsings did it?
Yeah, I didn't think so, either...)

Alan tries to "explain" to AM. AM sarcasms all over the place. Alan
says Buzz "drove him to it". (Which I guess is okay, since Buzz decided
it was Alan's fault he hit a tree.) Amanda adds her little destructive
comments. AM is not amused by Amy. Lucy drifts in. She was worried
because AM was gone so long. (What, did she think he got waylaid by a
storm, or a transvestite?) Lucy is confused about what they're talking
about. (Duh.)

Commercials

Roger and Dinah gab at the gravesite. "I killed my son!" "Yup, let's
roll, honey." They depart, and Hart comes up for air.

The Spauldings continue gabbing. AM loses his temper, breaks a vase.
"I will never forget this. I am finished with you." (He forgot to say,
'again'.)

Bloss enters the hospital, Annie and Rick go into comfort and diagnosis
mode. Ross goes off to do paperwork so Rick and Blake can apologize to
each other over and over, and rehash the entire plot to date. Doc
Sedgewick is called, Rick paints a glowing picture of the future that
Blake knows can't happen when the fraternal nature of the twins is
revelaed. (I will admit, Blake is doing a real good job with this
material, not that she's ever a slouch.)

Dinah and Roger come home. Roger remembers the brain-eating drug is
still on Hart, decides he has to go get it now, comes up with flimsy
reasons why.

Half-time

Dinah tries to convince Roger not to go back, but he insists. Dinah
uses the pager when Roger leaves, then chases after him.

Blake does the 'God is punishing me' riff, and seems to be creeping
towards confessing to Rick when Doc Sedgewick and Ross enter. Ross and
Rick step outside, have a heart-to-heart.

Doc S. says babies are fine, recommends some more tests. Doc out, Annie
in, Blake goes down the 'God is out to get me' road again. Off to the
fetal monitoring...

AM has great fun quoting back Alan's conversation with Amanda. Alan
continues to try and explain himself to AM and Lucy. Doesn't work.
Phillip walks into the middle of it. (He's becoming such a voyeur.) AM
says he and Lucy are leaving, against Alan's protests.

Commercials

More Spaulding arguments. AM and Lucy go upstairs to pack. Alan asks
Phillip to intercede. "Me? Why don't you ask Amanda. She's a lot
closer to him than me." "That's not a good idea..."

Upstairs, Lucy and AM processes the mess as they pack. Phillip comes
in.

Doc S. gives a thumb's up to Blake's brood, advises the future
ancestress of the coming generations of Thorpes, Marlers, and Bauers to
take it easy. Bloss goes home. Annie and Rick start to chat.

Dinah and Roger at gravesite; she tries to stop him from digging into
the grave. But, surprise, surprise, Hart *is* in there. (Only on a
soap is it a surprise when the body's actually in the grave.)

Commercials

Dinah digs the drug out of Hart's jacket, and dispatches Roger. But on
his way out, he pauses. "Wait a minute."

Phillip's words of comfort are not appreciated by AM.

Amanda tries to comfort Alan while dissing AM, but Alan won't hear it.
AM and Lucy come back downstairs. Alan offers to bring him aboard the
project, but the kids blow him off and walk out.

Commercials

Amanda does the comforting thing; Alan's not in the mood, and leaves.
Phillip watches from the stairs (those stairs could be a good sniper's
post, evidently). He confronts Amanda, accusing her of manipulating the
situation. Amanda denies all. "Why don't you pack your bags and go
back to the gila monsters and the cacti?"

Rick, outside the hospital, looking forlorn as he recalls the scene in
which Blake tells him he's not the papa of either of her babies.

Bloss snuggling at home.

Roger finds a token of Hart's. Sniff. Dinah and Roger depart the scene
yet again, but not before Dinah turns to give the grave a smug,
malicious grin, as only Dinah can, and FREEZE.
