Here's a rough and ready go:

THE SUMMER BEGINS, EVERYONE TREADS WATER

1. Vanessa is stunned by Matt's behaviour at the dinner party

2. Bridget dares Skunk to take her along with his biker friends (where's
Petey? you tell me)

3. FauxRoger moans and groans and deserves a kick in the head; Holly
glamorously waits on him.

4. Nick despenses useless, unheeded advice to assorted ingrates.

COUNTRY CLUB
Vanessa tries to talk to Sean about Matt's outburst. She is visibly
stunned. He explains that Matt, the child, never forgave some of Daddy's
mistakes.

A-M and Lucy are trying to have an elegant evening after the Spaulding
Board disaster (what I want to know is, why are two twentysomethings--one
of them just an administrator--running the entire company? How I long for
the days with Mark Pinter, Amanda, Vanessa, Ross and Carrie and the
Lewises sparring like adults over the conference table). But, they see
Tangie and Alan have beat them to it. A-M decides to go schmooze; even
though they suspect Alan of rigging the disastrous financial results, they
might be able to get something out of him. Tangie also has her
suspicions.

BIKER PARK
Skunk tells Bridget to get lost, revving his hog. The other
leather-wearers tell him to "lose the chick". Bridge, in evening wear
and leather jacket looking very endearing, really distraught over her
father's adultery and the dinner party fiasco, insists that she must go
with him, he can "let her off at the side of the road if he wants to".
The Hell's Angels contingent is suitably impressed by her spunk, but
Skunk inexplicably morphs into a nice guy, tells the highwaymen to get
lost (turns out even he was a little scared of them), and asks her what
happened tonight.

COUNTRY CLUB TO COMPANY:
Matt and Vanessa try to sort things out, she wants to know why their
families can't get along, he wants to know why can't they ditch the whole
family thing and just be together, when she says no he storms off--

--to wind up immediately at his boarding room, where he conveniently and
predictably loses his shirt (Matt's solution for every problem--take a
shower). Matt is truly the new Dylan as far as being the requisite
studmuffin/fleshtoy. Just then Dinah rushes in (looking resplendent in
lots of shiny, revealing black) begging for his help and spilling the
beans about Victor. Matt laughs in her face and she slaps him.

HOLLY'S PAD FauxRoger continues to nauseate everyone, Holly bears it well,
Ross and Chrissie arrive to announce their plans to start a family. Well,
Ross announces it and Blake kind of smiles worriedly. She and Holly
apologize for their snippiness earlier, without backing down, but Ross
forbids Blake to stay the night. Holly gives a good speech about the
disparity in Ross and Blake's ages affecting their desires, but basically
(as usual) acts completely disinterested in anything but her love life.
She calls Fletch, gets the machine, tries to get Rog to take some sleeping
pills which he somehow contrives to put in her tea, and she goes to bed.

Alex visits somewhere in all this to no good effect; she gives Holly and
Roger a "wedding present" from Alan (seems her sources think an
amnesiac should be played along with)?! An antique dagger. Holly gives
her the bum's rush out the door.

NEWSHEADQUARTERS

Fletch is typing up an article and drinking (uh oh). Nick comes in and
berates him for not fighting for Holly against Roger's obvious
manipulations. Fletch gets pissed, and in walks Alex. Fletch takes off,
and Nick turns his keen analytical skills on Alex--he's seen the love she
still has for Fletch and suggests she let it go. He's moved on from
Mindy, he admits he's lonely, and he thinks Mom should cotton to this
bleak state of affairs as well. He is apparently unaware that Alan is
all the man she needs %^). Mom tries to act affectionate, but you can
tell Fletch, Spaulding and baiting Tangie are all she cares about now, in
that order. Nick wants her to shake on it--she slaps his hand away and
they hug.

COMPANY

Dinah and Matt continue to spar. He flat out doesn't believe her and
thinks, if Victor is real, she's getting what she deserves. He stalks
off to the shower. When he returns, still yelling at Dinah, Vanessa is
there, and they make up instantly, in their usual way.

Meanwhile, Lady D has walked right into Victor's choke hold. She has one
option--kidnap Peter and demand money, or someone gets hurt.

BIKER WOODS
Skunk and Jet are slow dancing, a cop walks by and tells 'em to shove
off, Skunk says he'll hang around for a while, Jet doesn't want to talk
about anything but is glad he's there.

COUNTRY CLUB
A-M and Alan pretend to care about each other, Alan assures him that
everything will work out, Tangie doesn't buy it, but he is "intrigued" by
how "turned on" he is by all this corporate action. Is this woman loyal
to anyone (besides Roger, of course)?

A-M and Lucy try to dine, but Lucy is mad at the world, and doesn't need
A-M's help or listening ear.

HOLLYPAD

She has settled into a drugged sleep. Fletch shows up at her
blood-stained door, unsure of whether to knock. Roger stalks his way
into her bed, and caresses her face. Creepy, as always.

Aside from the parental scenes (Holly/Blake, Nick/Alex) this was a pretty
sicko episode, with lies abounding in almost every conversation. But,
Dinah does look great in a choker!

Cheers,

Shawn Hill
