Bauer backyard --- preparations for the 4th Bash are underway.
[Yea! - Sorry, folks; couldn't restrain myself. :)]
Eve is busy scrubbing the "BauerBurger Express" grill (logo actually
emblazoned on the sides) when she's interrupted by Ed, who insists that
particular duty is _his_ job. The Eve-ster bops out to retrieve a
"surprise", leaving Ed to scrub the jacuzzi and broom the
yard...(tick...tick..tick)...minutes later...she returns wearing ---a
black bikini (with black gauze wrap), ta-ta's on full display! :)
[Hilary Edson's hips are much, um, fuller than I was
led to believe by her normal mode of attire. Yowsa!]
A brief "firefight" breaks out when Ed goes ballistic, finally
admitting that he doesn't want her to wear the bikini to the Bash
because people might jump to conclusions (older man jumping younger
woman's bones as opposed to the real foundations of love they enjoy;
disrespect for Mo's memory, etc.).
After Eve pushes Ed (fully dressed) into the Jacuzzi and his sanity
is restored, he reverses field on the bathing suit issue. :)
Their motto: "We're going to have fun on the 4th - or die trying." ;)

   Spaulding Enterprises.
Alexandra "takes five", and compliments Lucy on her redecoration of
the employee's cafeteria. RoboCoop also receives praise in general for
the excellent way she's been carrying out her assistant's duties (with
an aside that, in time, she'll learn to actually anticipate Alex's
needs).
Nick stops by, and during convo, reinforces his new bond with his
mother and the company. They vow to get to the bottom of the takeover
threat.

Meanwhile, at Lewis Oil, Vanessa receives a bunch of flowers and a
Christmas/New Year's (audio) CD from [Jaws theme: ON] Alan [Jaws:
OFF]. She marches her big butt right right over to Alexandra's office
(bum-rushing Lucy in the process), delivers the 4-1-1, but is given
neither a reason to relax nor a reason to strengthen her "shields".
Nick, meanwhile (like a good "Number One"), has taken the opportunity
to transport to Lewis Oil, and quiz Josh about possible underhanded
goings-on at LO as relates to Spaulding. The Josh-ster tells him to drop
the front and speak his mind. Nick does, and is told straight out that
Lewis is playing the game straight.
However, Josh notes that Nick has flipped from being laid-back, to a
devious Spaulding "player", in the Grand Tradition.
   No insult intended. :)

Later in the evening, Alex burns the "midnight oil" at her Spaulding
office, making a list of the items Alan has sent out (CD to Van, clock
to Blake), trying to determine _her_ probable "present", and her
brother's next move.

Eleni returns home with Marina earlier than expected (baby has a
slight cold), and she and Frank come close to a reconciliation when he
makes a 12th hour plea: "...let's stop this before we both do some thing
crazy...". Unfortunately, Sid shows up for a scheduled appointment on
time [:)], and an Argument breaks out over a bogus list of divorce
settlements Ross drew up (incl. a dog, and, quite obviously, they don't
have one --- payback for being drawn into the whole affair? :) ).
Sid blows Dodge, and Eleni, furious, grabs paper and pen to create a
list of things to be divided, and who gets what.
Tears start to flow, nothing can really be decided upon because
everything has shared sentimental value (although Stavros got
preliminary nods on a bunch of stuff :) ), and E launches into her "why
don't you understand me, Frunkie??" mode.
Frank realizes he addressed the majority of her concerns in the
letter he wrote weeks ago, buys a vowel, and asks E about it.
   Eleni: "What letter??"

Alan Michael, I believe your butt is about to be put in a sling.
And Frank is going to be more than happy to donate his. ;)
