                       GUIDING LIGHT THURSDAY UPDATE
                               June 9, 1994

Boarding House - A Grateful Dead-shirtless Van comes down the stairs
to find Dylan, Kat, and Bridget making breakfast. She's uncomfortable, but
agrees to stay for waffles when invited, and to have extra time to coo over
Peter.

Holly's House - Ed has stopped by to pick up Michelle's flower girl duds.
He and Holl chat about Blake's unexpected absence and childhood as Rog speeds
into the room. Ed makes the comment that "if the secret to a long, contented
life is to have a short memory, you're a lesson to us all, my dear." Rog has
picked up the ringing phone and says to someone, "I told you, before my
daughter walks down the aisle!" Roger looks uneasy when Holly asks him who he
is talking to.

Ross's House - Blake wakes up in full-fledged jitters.

Holly's - Rog dodges the question and Holly tells Rog to not interfere with the
wedding. Rog asks what could possibly make her think that he would not welcome
Ross into the family. Rog names his possible reasons - professional persecution,
age, and his humiliation of Holly. Rog says he can't forgive that of Ross, since
he loves her that much. Holly says to not take that out on her, and says she knows
he would never hurt her. "Not if I can avoid it, " replies Rog.

Ross's - A nervous Blake states her love to Ross and her respect for Ed as she
runs into him as she exits the house. Ed points out that she should not be
there, and Blake tells him she is not superstitious. As Ed enters the bedroom,
Ross tells Ed that she knows that he is thinking of calling it all off. Ed
counsels a naked Ross (tell me, how MANY times do I have to see Ross's less
than impressive physique?????). Ross states his desire for freedom to stand
maked in the bathroom trying out the latest wrinkle cream on -any- part of the
body, to not have to do leg-lifts at 90 to avoid being fat, etc. Finally, Ross
says he's afraid, but he loves Blake enough to go through the whole thing. Ed
smiles knowingly, having said nothing thru this tirade, then hands Ross his
shorts on request.

Bridget's - Breakfast is over and everyone begins to depart. Van is looking
a little depressed. She gets up to leave and refuses Dylan's offer of a ride,
saying she wants to walk. Van says she feels like she's forgetting something
(like Peter, right!). Kat and David leave, and Bridget offers to bring things
over later if they find them. Van bids farewell to Peter in a touching (if you
like Van) scene, and Bridget and Van both say they have no regrets. Finally,
Van splits, pausing tearfully outside.

Pad o'Ross - Ross and Ed exchange disgusting comments about younger women and
all the potential personal conflicts they will have to confront at the wedding.
After all, Eve and Blake aren't the best of buds, not to mention Holly, plus Eve
will see Nick and Mindy, plus Van is daunting to Eve. Ed points out that Ross is
foolish to think any of Van's family will be there. Ed points out that Ross is
kidding himself.

Van's - Van arrives at home to be greeted by the nauseatingly cheerful Lewis
clan (including Dylan and little Bill, who has gotten out early from school).
She says she could never be lonesome with all of them with her (gag!).

Ed's Driveway - Eve is sitting outside reading mail, while Michelle nervously
waits for someone. Michelle asks her some questions about science, and they
actually get along for a bit. When Ed arrives, Michelle is not to thrilled with
her dress, thinking it's babyish. Eve tries to convince her it's ok, and also
asks Ed about when they'll be going to the big event. Eve splits, and Michelle
stresses out a bit about Eve. She finally accepts that Ed and Eve will be
together, but insists that Ed tell anyone that might ask that he will not be
marrying Eve. Ed points out to Michelle that she needs to be less of a bully
with Eve, plus tells Michelle that he doesn't think people will be asking
that question.

Fair - the carnival is breaking up, and Blake searches out the fortune teller.
Blake presses for details about her prediction of a doomed wedding.

Van's - Josh gives Van a letter (thru H.B.) from Billy. She reads it. It
basically says that he is proud of what she worked out with Bridget. Mindy
talks to Dylan a bit about how well he is getting along with Van. Josh tells
Van he could use her help at the business, as Ross shows up. Ross says that
Henry and Vanessa have been at all the major events in his life, and he'd like
to make peace so they would attend the wedding. Van and Henry say no dice,
that he used Bridget's case to hammer home his old grudges against her. She
points out that Dylan's role was different that his in that Dylan acted out
of love and had also tried to get the parties to see each others' points of
views. Van says she wishes he and Blake well, but she won't be at his wedding
or his children's parties, or any honor ceremonies he might have in the future.
A stricken Ross leaves. Dylan tells Van he's glad she understands what he did.

Bridget's - Kat tells Bridget she feels bad about how she treated her during
the whole custody ordeal, since watching Bridget with Peter has convinced her
that Bridget had a right to do what she did. Bridget says she understood what
Kat did, and that she needed someone to be hard on her, so she would think
seriously about what she was doing and could do in the future. They end up
hugging, and a happy David joins in.

Holly's - Holly is leaving, saying she has errands before the wedding. Before
she leaves, Rog points out a bouquet of flowers that have just arrived, not
for Blake but for Holly as thanks for making the day possible for Rog. Rog
tells Holly he never thought he'd live to see this day with them all together.

Psychic's Tent - (I think it's funny they have Ms. Psychic Friends Liz Kiefer
in this storyline) Blake finds out a strange man from the past will be at her
wedding - close, yet faraway. After a lot of agonizing by Blake, the psychic
says she has it in her to have whatever future she wants, not the one she
thinks she doomed to. Blake says that's just what she needed to hear, and
leaves. The psychic is still trying to tell her something about the stranger.

Ed's Driveway - As Eve walks out, he asks 'How is my little sea otter?" to
Eve. (Yes, Ed....) Eve is amazed about a probing question (namely, Why?)
that Michelle has jotted in her science book next to a chapter about gasses.
Bill shows and tells a disappointed Michelle that he won't be at the wedding.
She tells him she's not mad, and says she needs to get dressed.

Van's - Mindy talks to Van about the difficulties caused by the custody
decision. Mindy says Josh could use some help with work, and Van says sure, but
she doesn't want that to be all there is.

Bridget - Bridget (who is making me sick these days) is talking to Peter about
how much she loves the kitchen and how all her dreams come true, when Dylan
comes in. She tearfully tells him she has all she ever wanted and wonders if
this is allowed. Dylan says that if there is a rule against it, he is breaking
it, too. They kiss.

Ed's Driveway - Eve offers Michelle a science book that will help
answer her questions. Michelle is interested in the book, but tells Eve that
although science is her favorite subject, that she thinks she's too rude to be
a doctor plus doesn't like the schedule. She asks Eve is she was rude with Bill.
Eve says no, that is it hard to act happy when you're disappointed. Michelle
says she needs to fix her hair for the wedding and asks if Eve has any mousse.
Eve says sure, plus you can get the book. They exit, and a happy Ed watches.

Pad o'Ross - Holly knocks on Ross's bedroom door and asks if he is decent. Ross
asks what is wrong, did Blake leave town? He sees Holly is uncomfortable and
asks what is wrong. She says she remembers the last time she came in that door
without knocking. Ross blanches.

Holly's - Blake hugs a tuxedoed Rog, and asks him for his assurances that he
won't let any men from her past ruin her day. He says no, and assures her that
he himself has no plans to ruin her day, even after a phone call in which someone
hangs up. Blake is suspicious.
