GUIDING LIGHT UPDATE FOR FRIDAY MAY 17, 1996
			writer, Roger Newman
			director, Bruce S. Barry

	CEDARS
Annie asks Rick why he is trying to look at Blake's test results. She
tells him it's a breach of patient/doctor confidentiality.

	ROSS' OFFICE
Blake practices telling Ross about the night she spent with Rick. Ross
arrives.

	DINER
Vanessa and Matt, Roger & Leo are there. Van & Matt wonder why Roger is
at the Diner. Leo tells Roger that he needs professional counseling for
giving Dinah psychoactive drugs.

	A BALCONY/ROOFTOP 30 FLOORS UP
Dinah and Hart meet to discuss their plans. Dinah gives him Roger's gun.
He looks at it and tells her to get it back. She wants to keep it, but
Hart wants to stick to the plan. Hart tells Dinah that he told Vanessa
that he was trying to get back at Roger, but didn't mention that Dinah was
involved. He warns Dinah that they are getting sloppy. He mentions what
happened at the park with Bridget. Hart feels he owes Bridget for not
telling Roger. Dinah thinks Bridget would do anything Hart asked her to
do because she is still in love with Hart. Dinah asks Hart if Bridget has
a chance with him.

	DINER
Leo asks Roger to give him his gun. Roger doesn't want Leo to protect him
and if Leo had fixed the books they wouldn't be having this conversation.
Matt walks up to their booth and asks Roger about Dinah. Roger warns Matt
that his wife (Dinah) isn't Matt's business. Leo wants to leave, but Matt
tells him to stay.

	CEDARS
Annie knew Rick would try to pull this. They go into an exam room and
yell at each other. Rick asks why Annie is getting involved, it's not her
child and "who made you the moral authority on the subject?" Annie tells
him that Blake is her friend and he's behaving lousy. He tells her that
what he does isn't her business and he wants her stay out of his life.

	ROSS' OFFICE
Blake tells Ross that she loves him and that when she was younger her
first reaction to being hurt was to hurt back. She's worked hard to
change, but there's still a part of her that's a stupid little girl. She
doesn't want to disappoint him. He thinks it's hormonal overload and
tries a lumbar massage to cure her. He also tries to reassure her, but
she tells him that she has already let him down.

	DINER
Marcus arrives and wants to talk to Dahlia. Frank tells Marcus that he just
made things worse by telling Dahlia. Upstairs, Dahlia wanders around
her room. Then she remembers a time when she saw her mother dressed as a
hooker. Tina pretended she was going to a dress-up party. Dahlia also
remembers the scene when Marcus told her that Tina was a hooker and
realizes that he was telling the truth.
Marcus tries to convince Frank to let him talk to Dahlia.

Roger tells Matt and Vanessa to leave. Matt wants Leo to hear this. Matt
tells Leo that Roger hurt Dinah and Matt heard. Roger calls him a liar.
Matt promises that if Dinah shows up with a scratch on her, he'll assume
Roger had something to do with it. Roger calls him a fool and a punk who
needs to be taught a lesson. He stands. Matt asks if Roger is going to
beat on him, like he beat Dinah. Roger yells that he didn't and tells
Matt to get away.

	ROSS' OFFICE
Blake has let Ross down so badly. Ross thinks she's worried about being a
mother of twins. She calls him perfect. He says he made losts of
mistakes with his first child, so don't call him perfect. Blake wants him
to be quiet while she tell him something.

Just then Phillip walks in. Blake asks what he is doing here, "did Rick
tell...." Phillip came to see his uncle. Ross hugs him and is so happy
to see him. Blake, "My past is jumping up in my face today." Phillip
apologizes. He didn't know Blake would be here. Ross tells him that
she's pregnant with twins. Phillip is shocked. Ross, "You were invited
you nitwit. You knew we were married." Blake knows how Phillip feels
about her. Ross says the past is over and they've all changed. He tells
Phillip that Blake is not the woman that Phillip remembers. If he won't
believe Ross, he should ask his best friend Rick, he's become friends with
Blake.

	CEDARS
Rick doesn't want to talk about it, but Annie tells Rick that he hasn't
thought about anyone but himself. Annie, "This affects so many lives."
Rick, "But it doesn't affect your life, does it?" Annie calls him
selfish. He says she can't tell him what to do. Annie calls him an
insensitive jerk and she wants him to stop because he's hurting Blake and
himself. Rick agrees.

	DINER
Dahlia comes downstairs and sees Marcus. He tries to explain to her, but
Frank kicks him out. She turns around and goes upstairs.

Roger to Leo, "Can we sue somebody for terminal stupidity?" Matt says no,
but they can throw him in jail. Roger pushes Matt. Vanessa tells them to
stop. Matt asks if this is what Roger was like when he was coming after
Dinah. Roger shoves Matt and tells him that he is trying to get him out
of control. Leo tries to calm Roger, but Rog yells at him to shut up.
Roger asks if Hart has gotten to all of them. He says Hart has been
persecuting Dinah and she's starting to show the strain. Matt yells about
the incident with Roger's car. Roger says Vanessa saw Hart do it.
Vanessa pulls Matt away. He tells her that he wants Roger to know they
won't put up with his crap. Vanessa tells Matt that there is alot going
on and that Hart is playing a mind game on his father.

Roger tells Leo he won't kill his wife, he'll just give her the medicine
and within a few days she'll lose her mind.

	BALCONY
Hart doesn't believe Bridget loves him. Dinah asks if he's seen how
Bridget looks at him and how she acts around him. She doesn't think
they're a very good match. Hart says they aren't a match and never were.
Dinah says he could do worse and she knows how he feels about Peter. She
doesn't want him to confide in Bridget. He won't. Dinah changes focus
and starts to climb over the wall. She throws her scarf. Hart grabs her
and pulls her back. Dinah doesn't understand why he was upset. He has to
leave to find Roger and wants her to go home. She wants to stay and
promises to stay away from the edge. He reminds her to use the beeper if
she needs help. Then he departs.

	DINER
Eleni tries talking to Dahlia about her mother and wants to take her to
visit Tina. Dahlia just wants to be alone. Eleni leaves.

Eleni tells Frank about her talk with Dahlia. Frank thinks Dahlia will
come around.

Vanessa understands why Hart is going after Roger (because Roger destroyed
Hart's grandfather). Matt looks at Roger and remembers something Dinah
said the night he went to the penthouse. Matt realizes that she's working
with Hart.

Hart walks in and wants to settle things with Roger.

	BALCONY
Dinah is smoking a cigarette. She puts it out and looks at the city
lights. She picks up a daisy, that's really a cigarette butt, pulls off
the petals (scene shifts between daisy & cigarette). Then she sees lights
on her hand and she walks to the edge.

	DINER
Roger doesn't want to talk to Hart. Hart wants to move on. Leo leaves.
Roger brings up all the things Hart has done to him and wonders how they
can move on. Hart is willing to take some of the blame, but Roger wants
Hart to admit he set Roger up. Hart says he could lie, but wants to be
straight. Roger grabs him.

	CEDARS
Rick admits he's been following Blake, but he really wants a child. Annie
knows how much it hurt Rick when his first wife lost the baby. Rick
wanted the baby girl so much it didn't bother him that she wasn't his. He
would do nothing to mess up Blake and Ross' lives. All he wants is the
truth and he'll go on from there. Annie, "Then what?" Rick doesn't know.
Annie tells him that Blake will tell Ross the whole truth when she gets
the DNA results. Rick says that's all he needed to know and thanks her
for being straight with him.

	ROSS' OFFICE
Phillip tells Ross and Blake that he didn't bring Beth & Lizzie. Blake,
"That means you'll be in town for a short while." Phillip tells her it's
an open-ended trip and he has some business things to clear up. Ross is
glad and hopes to see alot of him. Blake isn't so enthusiastic. Ross
hugs Phillip and says he's glad Phillip is back. Phil thinks he's the
only one who feels that way. He leaves.

Blake wants to continue the conversation Phillip interrupted. She tells
him it's about Rick.

	THE PARK
Annie walks through the park in the dark and steps on a plastic shovel.
She falls and twists her ankle. She hops to a bench. Phillip comes up
and asks if she's ok. They stare at each other.

	DINER
Marcus looks through Dahlia's window.

	BALCONY
Dinah pulls petals of the cigarette and smiles. She climbs up and sits on
the railing. When she realizes where she is, she tries to reach her purse
to get the beeper. She leans further over the edge and screams NO!

	DINER
Roger pushes Hart and they struggle. Hart's beeper goes off.

	BALCONY
Dinah leans over the edge, then grabs something from the ledge (her
beeper?). FREEZE-FRAME
