   JAIL CELL
Cutter visits Tangie and gives her his laptop computer. He tells her she
could be out of jail if she revealed her source. She says there are some
things more important than the rules. He agrees and leaves.

   WSPR
Ross thinks Roger is lying about Dinah. Roger: "She stole it all. If
you don't believe it, ask her."

   BOARDINGHOUSE KITCHEN
Dinah smokes, calls "Daddy" and leaves a message for him. She's at
Bridget's and she's getting her life together. She tells him that he was
right and wants to have dinner with him.

   SPAULDING ENTERPRISES
A-M tells Lucy to come back. He looks for her and finds her in the
closet and tries to tell her that he wants to help her. She just runs off.

   SPAULDING MANSION
Brent asks Alan if he made a mistake in coming to talk to him. "If your
son continues as top man at your company, it's only a matter of time
before it goes under". Alan asks if he has proof. Brent says he does.

   WSPR
Ross: "Why should I believe anything you say about this money?"
Roger: "Because it has the ring of truth? She really only did it because
she didn't want you to bail her out. You were ready to mortgage your
house for her."

Ross didn't think Dinah knew that, but Roger tells him that she knew he
would go to any length to help her. She didn't want him to do that.
Ross asks if she told him that. Roger: "We ran into each other minutes
after she made off with the whole kitty. She was so distraught, she
didn't realize what she'd done." Ross wonders why Roger didn't send her
to him. Roger would have, but Dinah didn't want Ross to know and he is a
little more experienced at getting out of these "scrapes", so he helped
her. "I got her clear of the whole thing. Ain't you gonna thank me
Ross?" Ross: "I'll thank you to go straight to hell!"

   BOARDINGHOUSE
Dinah's drying dishes when David comes down the stairs. He asks her why
she's slumming in the kitchen. She's waiting for a phone call. David
asks her to go along to the Roadhouse for a beer. Dinah can't. Lucy
walks in and David asks her to go. She won't. David tells her they've
all been worried about her and tells her to go out and forget her
troubles. He'll teach her that dance step. She's not in the mood for
dancing. He asks her to go again, after Dinah turned him down, he can't
take another rejection. If she's still mad at Bridget they can talk
about it. Skunk and Bridget arrive. They are going to watch a video and
ask the others to join them. Lucy decides to go with David. Bridget
wants to talk to Lucy. They go to the stairway. Bridget tells Lucy that
she was just trying to be her friend and help. Lucy doesn't want her
help. Bridget wants to talk about Skunk (Kirk? Kurt? I can't decide what
they're saying.) She's starting to like him & he likes her and it's
really exciting because no one has like her in a long time. Lucy tells
her she's going with David. Dinah decides to go also.

   ROADHOUSE
Frank, Eleni, Buzz, Carroll & Nadine are there. Frank & Eleni are
dancing. Carroll asks Nadine to dance, but she doesn't want to leave
Buzz alone. Buzz sees Alan & Brent come in and wonders why they are
together.

Alan asks what Brent meant. Brent tells Alan that he's an admirer of
him & as an insider at the company he can shed light on how A-M is
ruining the business. <As Alan & Brent talk, we see A-M at his desk.>
Alan: "If there is mismanagement involved, I want to know about it. Can
you be specific?"
Brent: "A-M is not focusing on his work, with obvious results.
<A-M walks away from his desk and looks at Lucy's desk.> There are major
discrepancies in more than one of last month's financial reports." He
can paint a picture of a corporation on the verge of serious trouble.

   WSPR
Roger tells Ross not to leave until he asks him a favor. Ross tells
Roger he won't be blackmailed by him for anyone. Roger: "Not even for
your own daughter? There's nothing I wouldn't do for Chrissie. Just
follow these directions and Dinah will do fine." He holds up a piece of
paper. Ross won't do it. Roger tells him he will or his daughter will
be "pining over cafe au lait in the slammer". Ross takes it and leaves.
Ross's parting shot: "How's Holly? Gone for good?"

   ROADHOUSE
David, Dinah & Lucy arrive. Dinah doesn't like Country-Western music.
David tries to get Lucy to talk.

Alan thought A-M treated Brent well. Didn't he receive a promotion a few
months ago? Brent: "I deserved it. My loyalty is to the company and
it's stockholders." Alan: "Does A-M still trust you?" Brent:
"Absolutely! So when I get the information where should I bring it?"
Alan: "My home." Brent excuses himself to dance. Alan tells him not to
offer to pay for the drink of someone who has much more money, "it makes
it seem like you want something."

Brent goes over to Mindy and tells her that she's the most beautiful
woman there. Lucy sees him and turns away. David asks if she's ok. She
doesn't want to be here, so she's going to leave. Before she gets out
the door, Nadine drags her over to say hello to Buzz. They both ask
what's wrong with her. Lucy gets upset and wonders why everyone keeps
asking her if she's ok. Buzz: "Because you're not acting like yourself."

Frank glares at Brent. Eleni asks what's wrong. He doesn't like the guy
and he's getting him out of here. Eleni stops him. Lucy is sensitive
and a scene would only make her more upset. Alan says hello to Lucy and
asks her if she's seen A-M.

   BOARDINGHOUSE
Bridget & Kirk are playing cards when A-M arrives looking for Lucy.
Bridget tells him that she's at the Roadhouse. A-M "That's good. At
least she's safe." Bridget: "What do you mean by that?" A-M says he's
just worried about Lucy, isn't she? Bridget is, but Lucy doesn't want
her to worry, so maybe he should respect her wishes too. Kirk tells
Bridget he was glad not to be arrested for stealing that dough. She asks
how many times he has been arrested. Only a couple of times, but was the
worst time of his life.

   JAIL/ROADHOUSE
Tangie wonders what she should write about-- why she listened to Roger or
what it's like to be behind bars. She calls for Cutter.
Cutter is at the Roadhouse and Buzz asks him how long he's going to keep the "
barmaid on ice". Cutter tells him as long as it takes. Sooner or later she'll
break. Buzz leaves.

   WSPR
Roger gets a call from Leo. Ross is looking for his daughter. Roger has
solved a tough problem, helped a friend and put Ross in his debt.

   OUTSIDE THE ROADHOUSE
Ross decides he'll find a way to help Dinah himself and not use Roger's
plan. As he is about to leave, a reporter from a "tabloid" paper arrives.
Ross gives him Roger's sheet of paper. It has a story on it, a scoop.
Reporter: "A sleazy crime, a top cop and even a sexy blond." Ross:
"You're a sleaze." Reporter: "At least I'm not sitting in jail."

   JAIL
Tangie is still calling for Cutter. An officer tells her that he's gone,
but that she has company. Tangie: "Who? Alan Spaulding?" Buzz walks in.

   ROADHOUSE
Cutter watches Dinah leave. She sees Lucy outside crying and asks her
what's wrong. "Oh never mind, I wouldn't tell you about my life either.
You need someone to talk to and I'm not very good at compassion, so why
don't I go get David?" Lucy says she's fine, but even Dinah realizes she
isn't. Dinah tells Lucy that whatever is bothering her, she's been
there. Over big things or little things or nothing at all-- she's burst
into tears. "I know how you feel. Things don't turn out the way you
planned. You have to keep on smiling and pretend you don't have a care in
the world. Just smile, be happy, be pretty & perfect, because everyone
knows, men only like perfect, smiling girls. I know what it's like to
fake it." She asks Lucy if she's helping. Offers her chocolate and
goes to get David.

Brent tells Mindy he wants to send her ex-husband a thankyou note. She
says he's a real flirt. He agrees and asks if there's something wrong
with that. She says no, she kind of likes it. Lucy stares at them.

   SPAULDING ENTERPRISES
A-M gets a visit from Alan, who's concerned about employee morale. He's
heard A-M is having problems with one of his junior executives. A-M asks
who he's talking about. Alan: "Brock, Brad..." A-M: "Brent." Alan:
"Yes, Brent Lawrence. I understand he has some grudge against you?"

   ROADHOUSE
Frank watches Brent & Mindy. Eleni figures out that no one is at the
apartment, so they rush home.

Carroll asks Nadine if she wants to look for Buzz. She can't stop
worrying about him. Carroll wishes they could go on a date and not
mention Buzz, "I feel like I'm married to him". Nadine says Buzz needs
his family.

Brent tells Mindy about his condo. Lucy hears him use the same line he
used on her. He wants to show Mindy his place.

   BOARDINGHOUSE
Skunk tells Bridget he likes her. She stares at him and tells him she
hasn't heard that in a while. She tells him she doesn't know why people
try to make things work when they know it's not going to last. He kisses
her. Dinah arrives, then "Daddy" comes in. Ross looks upset, so Bridget
and Kirk leave. Dinah babbles about tv trays (these people actually use
them), while Ross paces. He asks how she could have stolen the money.
"I know that you are a thief, a liar, and I know that I was a fool to
have thought I even knew you or could trust you. I'm having a difficult
time believing you're my daughter!"

   JAIL
Tangie is surprised to see Buzz. He's wondering why he's here. He never
liked jail. He tells her that she'll get out. She doesn't think it
looks good. Buzz realizes that she's not going to tell and make it easy
on herself. She's found something to stand up for and doesn't mind
losing everything. Tangie: "Does it sound brave or crazy?"

   BOARDINGHOUSE

Ross asks if Dinah has no morality, no thought for the victims, her
family. Dinah says she did it for him and didn't want him to do anything
rash, so she solved her own problem. Ross: "Grand larceny is a solution
to nothing. Not only have you committed a serious crime, but you're
destroying the lives of innocent people. The money has been impounded.
Didn't you discuss that with Roger Thorpe?!? Buzz Cooper has been
accused of the crime you committed. A woman is in jail protecting
someone who could reveal your name. Everybody is suffering, except
Dinah! Nothing can excuse what you have done! I should turn you over to
the police. Jail is what you need!!"

   JAIL
Buzz tells Tangie she's not crazy, she's brave. "A real bad case of
bravery". He leaves and she smiles. As lightening flashes the scene
jumps to:

   SPAULDING
A-M aks Alan what he's heard about Brent. Alan says not much, but wants
to help. A-M doesn't want to go over the details, the guy was way out of
line and that's why he was fired. Alan doesn't think firing is always a
smart move. What if there's a lawsuit. Does A-M have proof of the
grounds for firing him? A-M doesn't. Alan tells him to re-hire Brent
and put him in some departmental backwater, where he can sit and stew.
You can observe him and build up a case for dismissal. A-M doesn't want
Brent around here.

   ROADHOUSE
Lucy watches Brent & Mindy. David finds Lucy and asks if she wants to
leave. She doesn't, she wants to dance.

Nadine tells Carroll that he's right. Buzz is a bad habit that's hard to
break. Carroll "Do you want to break it?" Nadine: "Yes, I do."

Lucy watches Brent touch Mindy as they dance and re-lives moments from
the rape. Brent tells Mindy he likes the mellow music better and knows
where they can keep it going. Mindy: "Let me guess-- your place?"
Brent says they'll just look at the view and have a nightcap. Mindy goes
to freshen up and Lucy follows and tells her she has to talk to her. Lucy:
"Whatever you do, you can't go home with Brent!"
