Hi again. :) I'm now the official Monday updater for the foreseeable
future. Here goes... :)

Today's word for the citizens of Springfield is VOLATILE. Someone get
this town some Valium!

OUTSIDE BOARDINGHOUSE: Reprise Friday's cliffhanger: Lucy screams at
Bridget. How dare she tell Frank and Cutter that Brent attacked Lucy?
Bridget tries to defend herself. Lucy feels pathetic when people keep
asking her if she's OK. Bridget remains steadfast. Lucy starts to
storm off, but Bridget stops her: "Did Brent rape you?"

POLICE STATION: Brent enters to find a group of angry Fifth Street
residents yelling at a beleaguered Levy. Nadine tells Brent that the
cops are keeping the benefit money as evidence, but it's badly needed
by the residents. Brent's just here to pay a parking ticket. Buzz
starts to speechify, but Cutter starts screaming for silence from his
office. He then tells Tangie not to leave: he has questions. Buzz
accosts Tangie, accusing her of taking glee in his predicament. She
tells him he's not the only one with problems.

TOWERS BATHROOM: A furious Alex, eyes glowing red, shoves Holly
violently around, slamming her against walls and ranting about
Fletcher. Alex slams Holly against the door to a toilet stall and a
shocked lady's face appears over the door, squeaking with outrage.
Enter Fletch, the knight in shining armor. He runs to pull Alex away,
and winds up in the middle of two clawing, hair-pulling female
maniacs.

HOTEL BEDROOM: Josh's mouth hangs open as he stares at Reva, perching
on the other end of the room. She lets her shawl fall; she's wearing a
low-cut white dress exposing an acre of cleavage. She grins at him.
Her earrings are glittery red. Annie is understandably confused and
asks what's wrong. Reva speaketh thusly: "Haven't you been listening
to me, Bud? That girl is all wrong for you." Josh gapes.

Roll lighthouse. Taylor's back on B&B, and Brooke's days are numbered.

BEDROOM: Josh continues to stare and gasp. Annie makes him look at her.
Totally mistaking his problem, she proclaims that there is nothing
coming between them: "Josh...I want you." He stares at her. "Oh" is
his intelligent response. She kisses him and lowers him onto the bed,
but now Reva is right next to his head. He yelps and sits up. Reva
smiles and sashays away, across the room. Josh gets up and stares
after her. Annie apologizes, and claims to understand. "It happens to
a lot of men....I'm a nurse." (She thinks he's impotent, in case you
hadn't guessed.) Josh doesn't think she really understands. :)
Gently, she coaxes him back into bed, wanting to cuddle. Josh is not
all there.

BATHROOM: Fletch manages to separate the women. Alex claims she didn't
start the fight, but he doesn't buy it. Holly glares through tangled
hair like a rabid animal as Alex rants about Roger, Fletch, betrayal,
neuroses, etc. Alex starts to leave, and Holly stops her, wanting to
thank her. "If you hadn't acted that incredibly well-acted seduction
scene a few months ago -- you remember, the one with Roger, where you
put on your negligee and hosed yourself down with that disgusting perfume
you wear and moaned and groaned like you were in your version of some
triple-X-rated feature -- if you hadn't done such a bang-up job of making
me think you had slept with Roger, I wouldn't have ever flung myself at
him [Fletch] and then none of this would have happened, and that would
have been a real tragedy." Alex sputters and leaves. The lady from the
toilet stall exits in a huff, muttering "Young people!" :) Fletch thanks
Holly for the speech, but wasn't it a little harsh? Yes...but she
enjoyed every second. Holly grins.

COPSHOP: Buzz continues to harangue Tangie, pointing out that his butt
is on the line. Cutter comes out of his office and announces that the
money won't be returned until the case is solved. He puts overly
friendly arms around Buzz and Tangie and ushers them into his office.
Levy tells the rest of the crowd they might as well go home. Nadine and
Carroll commiserate with Frank and Eleni. Brent reenters and expresses
sympathy. Frank glares.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Lucy continues to insist that Brent didn't hurt her; Jet
continues trying to get Lucy to open up. Lucy flinches each time Jet
says the "r" word. Bridget points out Lucy's weird behavior that
everyone (Frank, Buzz, David, Eleni, Jet) has noticed. Lucy say
they're imagining it. Jet asks if she also imagined bruises? Lucy's
excuse (bumped into a door) is different from the one she previously
gave Jet (fell in the shower). Jet points this out; Lucy defensively
says "So, I'm clumsy." Jet puts a gentle hand on her shoulder and Lucy
freaks. "Nothing happened, would you just leave me alone?" she
shrieks.

Commercial: Low-fat rice cakes, caramel flavor. What will they think
of next?

BOARDINGHOUSE: Lucy says Dylan's leaving is making Bridget invent
melodramas where there are none. Jet says she cares about Lucy because
they're friends. Lucy replies that they'll never be friends again,
so leave her alone! She slams the door. Jet mutters to herself, "Don't
shut me out."

COPSHOP: Brent continues to be sympathetic, saying he feels like part
of 5th Street because of his time spent with Lucy. Frank stews and
then walks away. Eleni realizes that Frank is upset about Brent, and
deduces that Brent did something to Lucy. Frank admits that's what he
thinks.

Buzz paces, and Tangie sits silently while Cutter reads a book. Cutter
extols the virtues of Lord Horatio Nelson, a British admiral who
defeated Napoleon. [Musicology major's note: This is the Lord Nelson
to/about whom Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass" is written.] Buzz has no
patience for history lessons, but Cutter says Nelson was a master
strategist -- he knew how to wait, and that's what we're going to do.
Buzz only waits a moment or two before saying that he thinks Tangie knows
he's innocent. Cutter asks Tangie for comment; she unhelpfully replies
that Buzz "doesn't seem like the type." Cutter mentions "the source who
told you where the money was," which is news to Buzz (he still didn't
know it was Tangie who tipped off the cops). Buzz blows up. Who was the
source? Tangie isn't telling.

HOTEL ROOM: Josh apologizes for ruining the mood. He tells Annie she's
beautiful and sexy, etc. She promises his problem is just temporary. He
hopes so. He laughs and they smooch some more. He starts sliding
Annie's clothing off, but Reva's voice speaks up again. Josh yells and
jumps out of bed.

Commercial: David Copperfield does his thing.

BEDROOM: Josh struggles into his clothes, ranting that he has to get
out of here. Annie wants to stay and he screams No, he has to drive
her home! What kind of a date would he be if he didn't even see her
home? She humors him, obviously thinks he's going insane. His heart
is racing. He thinks he's delirious, brain fever or something he saw
in a movie. She continues trying to reassure him.

COPSHOP: Buzz rails at Tangie, trying to get her to say who the source is.
Cutter tells Buzz to leave the office; he reluctantly does so. Cutter
switches from bad-cop to good-cop and tries to be compassionate with
Tangie, telling her she's in deep trouble. Sincerely upset, he begs
her to please reveal the source, or else the source has the power in
this "game." She says it's not a game. Cutter points out that the
source is playing havoc with a lot of lives. She is still reticent. She
stands up, and their faces are inches apart as Cutter begs her not to
make him arrest her and throw her in jail for obstruction of justice.
(The sexual tension at this point is palpable. Poor Patrick :( )

Buzz tells the other Coopers that Tangie knows who stole the money (an
exaggeration) but that she won't tell. Frank looks on the bright side:
at least there *is* a source. Carroll tries to cheer up Nadine. He's
just enjoying spending time with her, police station or no.

Tangie exits the office and Buzz stops her. No, she didn't "squeal."
Buzz points out his son and daughter-in-law, just two of the many 5th
Street residents who can't rebuild their homes because the money has
been confiscated. She isn't sure talking would be the decent thing.
Buzz waxes rhapsodic on the tribulations of the people of 5th Street
and (literally) begs her to tell him the source. She turns and leaves.

TOWERS: Folly [=Fletch and Holly] continue their meal. She refuses to
let Alex ruin their first real date. Alex walks past them and rejoins
Alan, claiming she's hungry. "When the blood's up, you know..." Alan
suggests they go home; she says no. She stares at Folly being lovey-dovey,
and makes small talk with Alan. She's grateful that he's her brother. He
would have helped her with the catfight, but he knew she could handle it.
They reminisce about childhood. She still wants to dump icewater on
Folly, but will maintain her dignity. (Isn't it a little late for
that?)

Gilly explains to Hamp and Sid that she was mysteriously fired, just
as she was enjoying and getting the hang of her new job. They sympathize.
Hamp goes to get coffee, and Sid says maybe there's a solution...

Hamp breaks the Gilly news to Alan, who pretends to be surprised and
sympathetic. "That's show biz," Hamp philosophizes. Alex sees right
through her brother. He plays innocent, but Alex knows better.

Commercial: Cagney and Lacey are back!!! :)

TOWERS: Alex continues nudging Alan, wondering why Sid is so special.
There are lots of lawyers. Alan says Sid is "unique."

Sid tells Gilly she should sue for breach of contract. She says it
could ruin her reputation/career. She doesn't want to talk about it.
At least they're together now. Some sappy romantic talk. LA isn't her
kind of town anyway. Smooch. They head off to bed.

Tangie apologizes for interrupting but is very upset. She asks Folly
if the cops can really arrest her for not talking. She explains how
"someone" told her where the money was, and Cutter wants the name.

COPSHOP: Buzz thinks Cutter is being easy on Tangie because of his
"friendship" (heavy sarcasm...Buzz is real subtle) with her. Buzz
points out yet again that his life and rep are on the line. Cutter
doesn't appreciate Buzz's implications that Cutter is less than
professional. Cutter points out that he can revoke Buzz's bail
anytime, and also that "a lot of people" think Buzz and Tangie are
working together to scam 5th Street. (Since when?) Cutter warns Buzz
not to go arund insinuating stuff. Buzz says that from now on, whenever
Cutter turns around, Buzz will be there until Tangie squeals.

Buzz tells his family he's staying, they should go home. They resist, but
he insists. Eleni tells Frank she has an errand to run. Brent passes
by again. He managed to talk his way out of his $100 (?!) parking ticket.
"If you tell a good story, they wanna believe you." Frank gives him the
Stare of Death.

Commercial: Windex makes your plants grow funny

BOARDINGHOUSE: Enter Skunk. "Where's the party?" He wants to feel the
breeze on his face, i.e. take Bridget motorcycle-riding to Chicago. She
tell him she's upset and worried about Lucy. He says it's great that
Jet cares so much about people. Everyone here is like her family, it's
cool. She seems surprised he's noticed, and that he's so sensitive.
(Her and me both!) He tells her to let Lucy cool off a little, then talk
to her again. He again invites her to bike; she hasn't been on one in
years. She starts to join him, then sees one of Peter's toys and stops.
Tells him she can't. He tells her to stop trying to take care of everyone.
She changes her mind again and they leave together.

OUTSIDE ANNIE'S APT: Josh and Annie are dressed. He apologizes some
more; she keeps saying it's ok. Just being with him is enough. He
promises to make it up to her. She invites him in, but he says Shayne
is ill, he has to go. Awkward goodbyes. He sighs and leaves.

TOWERS: Fletch says why should Tangie give up her source? The worst the
cops can do is jail her, it'll make great copy. Holly points out that
maybe Tangie doesn't want to go to jail. Fletch invokes the 2nd amendment;
Tangie should keep her source quiet. But what about the people of 5th
Street? Suddenly Tangie has an inspiration; she leaps up and asks Alan
if she can talk to him. He sends Alex away; she watches with disgust as
Folly smooch some more.

Alan tries to buy Tangie a drink; she just wants to ask a favor. Like
what? "I need seventy-five thousand dollars."

Commercial: Nestle Buncha Crunch is scarier than the Addams Family.

TOWERS: Folly continues lovey-dovey cuddling and talk. Holly asks if
Fletch is crazy, saying Tangie should go to jail? He is sure it won't
happen. Springfield's Finest won't risk the PR nightmare.

Tangie apologizes to Alan for asking such a big favor, after she
slapped him. She explains about the money being impounded, and he's
been so supportive of 5th St, bailing Buzz out, etc. He should look at it
as an investment, he'll maybe get the money back from the cops
eventually. "To whom do I make this check out to?" [English Major's
note: arrrrrrrggggggh! Call the Grammar Police!] He hands her the check.
She is grateful. Alan says it gives him great pleasure ;) to help 5th
St. Tangie discovers that the check is for $100,000. Wow! Alan says
the extra is just a bonus.

COPSHOP: Buzz continues to badger Cutter. Cutter shakes him off,
saying he'll make Tangie talk.

BOARDINGHOUSE: Eleni finds Lucy being pensive, squished into a corner.
Eleni brought a picture Marina drew of Lucy. All the Coopers miss Lucy.
She blinks back tears.

Cue spooky music...

HOTEL ROOM: Josh reenters. He looks around the room, nervously, as if
Reva might jump out and bite him ;) Sits on the bed, stares at the
candle on the bedside table and then puts it out with his fingers.
Picks up the rose on bedside table. Sniffs it. Fade to black.

That's All Folks! Till next week...
