Guiding Light Update
 Friday, April 18

      by Vivian

Jeffrey is very happy that Jenna has decided to return to him. He's
nuzzling and pawing her and obviously wants to have a reunion to remember.
Jenna is nervous and looking for a way out of the clinch. She says that
Coop is in the next room, but this information does not appear to concern
her husband. He says she made the first move. Her expression says she
wishes she had thought of another way out of this mess.

Amanda primps a little before visiting Roger. Her hair isn't exactly
straightened, but it's not allowed to be natural, either. It's sort of
squashed down, but never fear. Amanda's low cut black dress draws attention
away from it in a flash. She's happy with what she sees in the mirror and
knocks. Roger seems happy to see her and reveals that his trip was
satisfactory. Amanda is miffed that he didn't keep in touch with her or
check in when he returned. Roger claims that since their personal
relationship is on hold, he doesn't feel he has to report to her. Also,
when she comes to him dressed as she is, is business the only think on her
mind? Amanda looks insulted.

Reva returns home to find noises from the kitchen. She calls out to Abby,
then realizes she wouldn't be able to hear her. The noise continues and
Reva grabs a fireplace shovel, raises it over her head and almost knocks
some sense into her father. He protects his head with his suitcase, then
they collapse into laughter.

Annie isn't laughing. She's in hyper-anxiety mode and Alan is the
recipient of her rant. Her life is falling apart and she wants Alan to help
her be rid of Reva for good. She tells him that after their childbirth
class, Josh told her he was leaving her. He said Reva had nothing to do
with his decision, but Annie doesn't believe it. She gets hysterical and
goes on about how she was happy for the first time in her life, and how
much she hates Reva. Alan claims that the baby will bring them together,
but Annie thinks that's not enough to hold him. Trying again, Alan reminds
her of the Lewis sense of loyalty and duty, and the fact that Josh loved
her when he met her. Annie knows that she can never be Reva and wants to
know what Reva has that she is lacking. "What is it with Reva and all these
guys?" she asks.

Roger can't concentrate on business with Amanda looking so delectable. She
says he was never just and employee, and complains about him running out of
her bedroom at their last meeting. Roger was able to think things through
while he was away. He also did not ignore business, and presents Amanda
with a contract he obtained in Switzerland. Amanda is a woman scorned and
uses the power she has to put Roger in his place. He should clear it with
her the next time he decides to pursue a contract. Roger isn't about to
listen to that. He demands to be treated as an equal, and if he wants to
take off for weeks or months, he will.

Buzz is busy at a booth in the diner, and he's not writing out a new
recipe for baklava. Instead, he's practicing his nemesis' signature so that
he can get into his safe deposit box. Now he has to wait, but it won't be
easy. He thinks back to his conversation with Jenna, in which she said she
can soften Jeffrey up. Buzz calls Jeff's hotel, but changes his mind. He
grabs a pair of gloves from the Lost & Found box and takes off.

Jenna wants to slow down and get to know Jeffrey again. He backs away and
agrees to wait. He asks about her talk with Buzz, and she says that Buzz
accepted her brush-off because he had no choice. Jeffrey's horn can only
play one note, though. He knows exactly how to get Buzz off of her mind,
and kisses his wife again. She has to push him away to get him to cool it.
This time she puts furniture between them to keep him away. Sleeping
together isn't the way to rekindle their relationship, but Jeffrey is
confused and amorous. Guess who knocks at the door just then? It's Buzz, of
course.

Annie complains that Reva has been with half of Springfield and Josh's
family, and wants to know what it is about her that turns men to jelly. She
believed that men wanted the good, sweet, smart girls, not the ones like
Reva. She really wants to know, so Alan tells her. He knew that Reva was
trouble, but fell in love with her anyway; in fact, he talks about Reva as
though he still does. He tries to explain the indefinable something about
Reva that draws men to her, but stops when he sees Annie's face, which is
crumbling. She doesn't understand why Josh doesn't love her the way she
loves him.

Hawk sees a photo album that Reva has been working on. There's a picture
of her and Josh at the prom, and they recall the evening. Reva wants to
give her dad the album, but changes her mind and decides not to run away
from her memories. Her dad gives her a hug.

Alan tells Annie that she's desirable and any man would want to be with
her. Annie blames Reva for her drug addiction and complains that Reva
doesn't care who she hurts. Reva has to go, to disappear from her life.
Alan tries to calm her down, but she's on a roll. She sounds a bit like
she's slipped over the edge. Alan tries logic - going after all your
enemies isn't practical. But Annie is determined. She wants Alan to help
her stop Reva.

Amanda and Roger spar a bit more. She claims to be in charge and he claims
to have put her where she is today. The phone rings and Roger answers. It's
the hotel laundry, but Roger pretends it's someone else. Amanda wants to
know if the caller was Holly, and Roger says it was only the valet. He is
capable of telling the truth. Amanda is jealous and goes to slap him, but
he stops her. They are close and Amanda expects to be kissed, but is
disappointed once more. Roger steps away and suggests they meet at the
office from now on. He's less likely to be assaulted there. She is
embarrassed and leaves.

Buzz asks for milk to wash down his peanut butter sandwich. Jeffrey is not
amused, and Jenna tries to get rid of him. He hands over the gloves, but
Jenna says they don't belong to her. She goes on to say that they are
through and he should leave.

Reva and Hawk reminisce as they look through the photo album. He sees a
copy of the photo that is in the brooch, and says it was taken at Rusty's
high school graduation. If Hawk is right about the time it was taken, the
photo in the brooch wouldn't match up. Rusty graduated only 15 years ago.
Hawk is sure because of the scarf Sarah was wearing, and goes into detail
about the day. Reva is sure that Hawk is wrong, so he suggests that she
check with Rusty. He remembers that Rusty was embarrassed that his mom wore
a scarf to his graduation. Reva doesn't reveal why she is so interested in
the picture, but says that if Hawk is correct, someone has a lot of
explaining to do.

Trying to get Annie to back off, Alan tells her that although Amanda and
Roger have stabbed him in the back, he is waiting for the right time to
strike back. Annie wails on about wanting Josh to love her, but Alan thinks
she should accept that Reva and Josh belong together. He holds her and says
she's already lost him. This causes an hysterical reaction and she runs
out, bumping into Amanda as she goes. Amanda wants to know what's wrong
with Annie.

Buzz finally leaves and Jenna says she is happy, but Jeffrey doesn't
believe her. She convinces him to some extent, but he's not happy with the
way Buzz looks at her. It's the way a husband looks at his wife. He decides
that it's time they slept together and drags her off toward the bedroom.

Roger calls and finds out that Holly is at work, then goes outside to the
same mirror Amanda used to be sure he looks good. He is carrying a gift.

Amanda wants to know what Alan is doing with Annie now that he is
recovered. Alan says he likes her, and walks out.

Hawk is leaving. He wants to put some space between himself and his
memories. They have a hug and he is off. Reva returns to the picture and
talks to mom about the timing. Then she calls her little brother, Rusty,
and asks if he will look at the picture. She wants to know if someone's
been lying to her. Annie is listening outside the door. How much has she
heard?
