			GUIDING LIGHT UPDATE

A Slooooowwwwww day in Springfield...

Cedars: Enter Rick, yelling at Lillian about some mistake on a chart. She
won't tell him who's responsible, and leaves for a break. Enter Abby,
admitting the mistake is hers. Across the room, enter Blake and Holly with
the twins. Kevin has an appointment with the doctor, but Blake doesn't
want to interrupt Rick and Abby.

Griffin's Apartment??: Ross cross examines Griffin about the way he's
handling Blake's divorce case.

Convent: Vanessa's reading as Michael the PT enters. He inquires about
the computer and she says she likes books better--she's rooted in the past.

Vanessa's house: Dina and Matt are at the computer. He's just changed the
design of Vanessa's hospital wing. (He's an architect now???)

Griffin's: Ross wants Griff to stop dragging out the divorce because it's
giving Blake hope that they might reconcile.

Cedars: Holly argues Blake needs to be on time for the doctor, even if
Rick and Abby do see her. Blake prefers to think she's helping the pair
reconcile. Across the room Abby apologizes for the mistake and tells Rick
not to patronize her and then excuse it because they used to be together.
She wants the truth; he tells her maybe her plate's too full. He's not
sure she has the discipline to make it as a physician's assistant. She's
angry at his honesty. He tells her to get out of the kitchen if it's too
hot. Abby leaves and Rick talks to Holly and Blake.

Vanessa's house: Lillian arrives to consult with Matt about the new wing.
It occurs to her that all her friends are dead or gone (Maureen, Vanessa,
Alexandra) and she recalls eating Chinese carryout while watching
Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous with Alex. Enter Hart.

Convent: Vanessa and Michael discuss poetry and Browning, as he bends her
fingers. He tells her she would make better progress if she weren't so
sad; she grumps about eternal optimists. He forces her to go back to the
computer and suggests she try to find the poetry chat room again. Vanessa
protesteth too much. Exit Michael.

Vanessa's house: Lillian and Matt discuss building concepts at the
computer. In the living room, Hart accuses Dina of playing match maker.
Dina and Hart make nice.

Griffith's: Ross wants to leave. Griff says he's on the edge and pushing
this divorce through quickly is the wrong thing to do. He counsels
waiting, since Ross still loves Blake. Ross holds fast to the betrayal
issue.

Cedars: Rick agrees with Holly that he ruined Blake's life, along with
several others. Still, he loves Kevin, and won't disavow him. Across the
room, Blake sees Abby. She tells her she's not the enemy. Abby claims she
no longer has feelings for Rick other than professional. Holly tells Rick
she admires the way he's holding himself together--at least in public. A
nurse comes by to remind Rick he's teaching one of the Physician's
Assistant classes today. He requests that he teach in the section without
Abby.

Vanessa's house: Lillian and Matt contemplate a 15 foot glass pyramid in
the new wing. Lillian wonders if Dina and Hart are getting back together
and Matt hopes so. Lillian exits, saying goodbye to all. Matt says enough
work for one day (??!!!) so Dina and Hart exit as well, chatting amiably.
Matt returns to the computer, lonely. He remembers being with Vanessa (in
the love nest??) and looking at a snow scene together. His hair is very
long. Cut to

Convent: Vanessa in her wheelchair, reading Browning (I think) aloud. The
poem has to do with building mansions.

Griffith's: These two continue to perseverate Ross's situation. Ross
admits he misses Blake and the boys. Griff lays it on thick, telling Ross
how much he'll lose by going the Big D route. Ross finally leaves in anger.

Convent: Vanessa's trying to get into the poetry chat room again. Cut to

Vanessa's house: Matt doing the same. (He keeps referring to it as a "web
site"--someone needs to fill these writers in.)

Convent: She's pleased someone else is in the room.

Cedars: Rick and Blake chat and he takes Kevin to the park to feed the
ducks for an hour. She claims she has to fill out some insurance forms.
Really, she goes over to the desk and changes Abby to be in Rick's section
of class. Enter Ross, demanding to know how she's interfering now. She
feigns innocence.

Outside Vanessa's house: Dina and Hart discuss Matt; Hart recommends not
interfering with his love life. Dina kisses him, just to see if it still
excites her. It does, and she leaves Hart grinning.

Convent: Vanessa confers quickly with Michael about chat room etiquette.
He recommends a pseudonym and she chooses "Tess" (short for Contessa). The
screen splits and we see "Tess" and "Robert" begin a tentative
conversation. He is interrupted by a phone call, but they agree to chat
again soon.
