GUIDING LIGHT UPDATE FOR FRIDAY APRIL 19, 1996
			written by Pete T. Rich
			directed by John M. O'Connell

	SPAULDING MANSION
A-M and Amanda come in from playing tennis. A-M loves Amanda's concept
for the wedding. Amanda knew she had to come up with something special
after the guy from NASA laughed and hung up. She wanted to use the space
shuttle. A-M, "Who wants to have champagne in a tube?" Amanda shows A-M
the guest list. A-M goes ballistic, "He's the last person that I'd want
there on the most important day of my life."

	ARIZONA
Phillip (they don't show his face) talks to a woman (Beth?--they don't
show her at all) about going back to Springfield. She says they have a life
here, but he had a life in Springfield and he wants it back.

	MARLER HOME
Rick is surprised to see Ross. Blake explains that Ross stayed home to
pamper her. Rick wants to leave, but Ross stops him, "It's very true when
they say the husband is the last to find out." Blake, "Figure what out?"
Ross, "What's going on between the two of you and what happened the night
you spent together."

	JESSUP FARM
Roger wants to erase Hart from Dinah's mind by making love to her. Dinah
protests that she doesn't want to do it at the farm and would rather go
back to their penthouse. Roger refuses. He wants her now and nothing
will stop him. Hart comes out of the closet.

Roger stops Hart from leaving and demands to know what Hart is doing at
the farm. Hart explains that he didn't want to stay in the closet and
listen anymore. Roger, "In ancient Rome, fathers could kill their sons
with impunity. It's time that idea made a comeback." Hart doesn't blame
him, because Roger's reputation as a world class lover stinks. Dinah
calls Hart vile. Hart tells Dinah that she should be glad he came out
before Roger bored her to death. Roger asks why Hart came. Hart wonders
if Roger wants the truth or a bedroom story. Dinah wants Roger to make
Hart leave, but Roger wants some answers. When Hart tries to leave, Roger
grabs him by the arm and head and holds him down. Roger wants Hart to
tell him why he's here or he'll hurt Hart. A worried Dinah tries to calm
the ice-cold Roger and suggests calling the police. Hart agrees to tell
Roger the truth. He tells Roger that the farm is the only place he feels
welcome in Springfield and he wanted to think about his grandfather.
<Hart is lying on the floor while Roger stands menacingly over him.>
Roger calls Hart a liar, then turns to Dinah and asks what she's up to.

	SPAULDING
Amanda didn't know that inviting Phillip would upset A-M. The last time
she saw Phillip, he was a sweetheart and Alan's pride & joy. A-M tells
her that Phillip isn't a sweet kid anymore and that A-M's life has been
alot better without Phillip in it. Amanda is worried about what people
will think if Phillip isn't invited. A-M tells her why Phillip left town
(to do community service instead of jail for faking his death to avoid
being set up on murder charges.) Amanda remembers a gentle, loving
Phillip who adored poetry. A-M, "He has talents for being different
things to different people. He's very charming and can dazzle his enemies
with a smile and his eyes look right into your soul. But I've seen his
other side. He always expected, no, demanded, more. More power, more
love, more money. People always gave what he wanted and then paid for it.
His family, his wives, his friends." Amanda thinks A-M is exaggerating.
A-M tells her to ask Rick, Blake, or Ross.

	MARLER'S
Ross put it together because of the way Rick & Blake have been behaving.
Rick and Blake think that Ross knows they slept together. Blake tells
Ross that she didn't mean for it to happen. Rick & Blake say they had too
much to drink. A puzzled Ross asks what that has to do with anything.
He's glad it happened. Rick asks what he's talking about. Ross thinks
Blake and Rick have finally buried the hachet and become friends and
gotten over the problem they had with Phillip. Ross leaves to go to work.
Rick looks out the mail-slot to be sure Ross is gone, then puts a hand
over his heart. Rick, "For a minute there, I thought he knew." Blake,
"You might as well come in here wearing a sign: 'I slept with your wife in
a moment of drunken debauchery and I'm not going to rest until everybody
knows it!'" Rick didn't know Ross was going to be home. Blake goes to
the desk and looks for something. Rick asks what she's doing. Blake,
"Looking for something to stab you with. It's obvious that killing you is
the only way to shut you up!"

	SPAULDING
Amanda asks if Phillip ever hurt Alan. A-M tells her that Alan never
stopped loving Phillip even when he let Alan down and that Alan never
thought Phillip did anything wrong. When he was growing up, A-M wanted to
be just like Phillip and Phillip liked it until he saw A-M as his
competition. Amanda asks if A-M saw Phillip as a threat. A-M says it
doesn't matter because Phillip got away with anything and would be
forgiven. A-M doesn't want Phillip to steal the spotlight from Lucy.
Amanda asks if he's afraid Phillip will steal the spotlight from A-M.

Lucy arrives and asks if they're playing hookey. A-M kisses Lucy to
silence her. A-M tells her that Amanda has found the perfect place for
their wedding. Lucy wants to know where.

	JESSUP FARM
Dinah came there because she knew Hart would pull something now that he's
rich. Roger asks Hart why he's really here, while Hart cowers on the
floor. Roger lets Hart get up. Hart pretends to be upset that Roger
doesn't believe his story. Dinah tells Hart to shut up and leave. Hart
tells her that she'll never forget what happened in that bed. He tells
Roger, "I would never want to sleep with a woman who slept with somebody
else in that bed." Roger slugs Hart in the stomach and grabs the letters
from inside Hart's jacket. Roger asks where Hart got letters from Laura.
Hart grabs them back and says they were written to his grandfather and
were the only way he could get to know his mother. Roger, "You're not
worth the postage it took to mail them." Hart wishes his mother could
hear Roger threatening to kill his love child and wonders if Roger thinks
that would turn her on. Roger yells, "Shut up! You don't know a damn
thing about your mother!" Hart knows she could never love a man like
Roger because she was decent & honest and the man she described in the
letters wasn't Roger. Dinah tells him to leave. Hart, "Dad, were you
posing as a good guy? Was your mission to be a human being or did you
just knock her up & dump her?" Roger slaps Hart's face. Hart yells that
he should hit him again, "I hate you!" Dinah tries to get Roger to look
at her and calm down. Roger tells Hart to take the letters and leave.
Hart, with tears in his eyes, just looks at Roger. Roger yells at him to
leave.

	ROSS' OFFICE
Ross has put together two baby mobiles. Vanessa arrives and asks if two
will be too much for one baby. Ross explains about the twins and wonders
what he did to deserve this kind of luck.

	MARLER'S

Blake, "Some luck. Why couldn't I have a one night stand with a traveling
salesman or Antonio Banderas? No, I have to get it on with some neurotic
nimrod like you. You're like some crook who keeps returning to the scene
of the crime. You're not going to be happy until you get us both caught."
Rick wants to talk to her about some research he has found. He wants to
know the truth. Blake wonders what's missing in his life that he has to
feed off hers like a vampire. Or is this payback for what she did to
Phillip and Beth? "Are you going to stalk me to the delivery room?" Rick
thinks she's as worried as he is. Blake wouldn't be worried if he'd leave
her alone to forget about it and he should forget too, "You could give
yourself a lobotomy. I'll help." Rick knows how to settle this, once and
for all.

	SPAULDING'S
Lucy tries to guess where: Fisherman's Wharf, Empire State building,
Hollywood & Vine? But A-M says it's all and none of the above. Lucy
giggles and wonders if they're going to fly across country. A-M, "Take
everything that you think your wedding is suppose to be and roll it into
one, and that's what it's going to be." Lucy, "I'm getting married at a
travel agency?" A-M, "Think big. Fun is UNIVERSAL." Lucy asks if they
booked the space shuttle, she doesn't want to drink champagne out of a
tube. A-M & Amanda will make sure that Lucy and the guests will get to
the wedding. Amanda will put something in the invitation to meet at the
airport and the corporate jet will take them to the wedding.

	MARLER'S
Rick has found a way to determine who is the father of Blake's baby,
"C.V.S." Blake, "I'm not going to talk about my personal problems on
television." Rick, "Chorionic Villus Sampling." It can be done in the
first trimester and they take a sample of the tissue from the placenta to
get the baby's DNA to compare with Rick's DNA. Blake wants to forget they
"co-mingled". Rick doesn't understand how she can say that. Blake wants
him to let it go. He can't because he's seen what lying does to families.
Look at Phillip, Alan lied to him and that will scar Phillip the rest of
his life.

	ARIZONA
Beth(?) doesn't want Phillip to go back into that mess. Phillip can't
pretend that the last 5 years didn't count. He opens a letter from Alex
about A-M's wedding.

	JESSUP FARM
Roger tells Hart to leave. Hart tells them to pull down the shades
"because there's enough ugliness in the world already." Dinah shuts the
door and tries to get Roger to go home to the penthouse. Roger won't.
Dinah tries to convince him that she's not comfortable at the farm. Roger
tells her that there's nothing stopping them and he was turned on by
seeing her yell at Hart. He kisses her.

	ROSS' OFFICE
Ross babbles on about what he'll do with the babies. Vanessa laughs. He
wants to do everything with these kids that he didn't get to do with
Dinah. Vanessa is glad he has a second chance and regrets her decision
about Dinah every day. She tells Ross that Dinah going back to Roger may
not be as bad as they think. Ross, "Why? Did the devil call him back?"
Vanessa tells him that Dinah talked to Matt and he thinks she didn't go
back to Roger to hurt them. Ross asks what other reason is there, she's
insane, she's a masochist? Matt thinks she knows what she's doing and
they should have faith in her and maybe things will work out. Ross
doesn't think Dinah knows what Roger is capable of doing.

	JESSUP FARM
Roger asks if Dinah is nervous. He's done everything she's asked of him.
She wants to leave the terrible memories of Hart in that bed. Roger wants
to obliterate her memory of Hart and then she'll be all his, body and
soul. He starts to undress her.

	PENTHOUSE
Hart walks in and starts sprinking his mother's favorite perfume all over
the room. "The scent that drove Dad crazy. Let's hope so." Hart looks
at a picture of Dinah.

	JESSUP FARM
Dinah tries one more time to get Roger to leave, but Roger wants to love
her. It's something they need to do here and now.

	MARLER'S
Blake doesn't think Phillip can blame every bad thing he did on that.
Rick thinks Phillip may have been a different person if he knew the truth.
Rick won't walk away until he learns the truth. Blake will take the test
on one condition, if he's the father, he has to marry her. Rick doesn't
love her. She wants to drop it then. Blake thinks he wants to ruin her
perfect marriage. Rick only wants to know if he's the father. Blake
won't take the test or feed his paranoia of fatherhood. Rick has to know.
Blake says there is nothing to know and tells him to leave. He does.
Blake, "There's only one way to shut him up."

	JESSUP FARM
Dinah slowly & reluctantly takes off her clothes and gets into bed. Roger
joins her and starts kissing her. He asks if they still share a passion
she's never known with another man. Dinah, "No other man makes me feel
the way you do." He lays on top of her. Dinah shuts her eyes and
remembers her night with Hart. She grimaces.

	PENTHOUSE
Hart reads his mother's letter, "Roger, I know how you said you could tell
me in the dark from the scent of my perfume, but I think it's more than
that. Our love is so strong that..." He crumples the letter & throws it.
The phone rings & the answering machine comes on. It's Leo. Hart picks
up the phone and pretends to be Roger by imitating his voice. Leo tells
him that he has one document to fix before Roger can dump Dinah.

	SPAULDING'S
Lucy is worried about the wedding. A-M asks if she trusts him. He'll
give her the wedding she's dreamed of.

	ARIZONA
Phillip is going to A-M's wedding. Beth(?) says he's asking for trouble.
Phillip, "There's going to be trouble. There's going to be big trouble."
They finally show his face.
