NYC, was pre-empted. If anyone would like to fill in the first half of
the action, please feel free to do so. We join the action already in
progress.

Written by Jeanne Glynn and directed by Brian Mertes

Highlights:
* Rick & Abby reconcile.
* Ed recognizes Michelle for the pod-bimbo that she is.
* Ross shares his fears with Blake & urges her to do the same.
* Rog tries to erase Dinah's memories of Hart.

MOTEL ROOM: A shirtless J & a still-clothed Michelle are kissing
horizontally, on a bed. J starts unbuttoning M's horrid green blouse
(it's not quite chartreuse). "Are you sure?" he asks her? "I am, I
really am," she assures him breathily. They kiss some more as J works on
another button. Suddenly, Ed & Nola waltz in. (Once again, I ask,
doesn't anybody ever lock anything in Springfield?) J cradles his head
in his hands while Michelle scrambles out of bed & buttons her shirt.

"Get out of the damn bed!" screams Ed repeatedly at J, finally removing
him bodily from said bed. J is clad in nothing but a cute pair of black
boxers. Nola & Michelle yell at Ed to calm down & let go of J. M insists
J didn't do anything. Ed turns to his mutant daughter & asks her how she
could wind up in a place like this, while J insists that M didn't do
anything. "You're still a little girl," he insists, though both J & the
physical evidence clearly state otherwise.

Nola tells J to shut up, "or I'm going to let Ed kill you." J insists
that it was all his fault. "How could you do this?" Ed asks M several
times. She just stands there & cowers. He tells her to get in the car.
On her way toward the door, she takes J's hand. "I'm really sorry," she
says, then exits with Ed on her heels. Nola faces her son. "Well, you've
really done it. Anthony James Chamberlain, you have really done it this
time." J pulls on his shirt.

BAUER KITCHEN: Rick & Abby are sitting at the table. Rick admits he was
wrong for telling Abby not to work for Alan & apologizes. Abby says she
is an independent woman now who can make her own decisions. Rick agrees
& is sorry for treating her like a kid. His only defense is he treated
both her & Michelle like sisters. "Michelle's not a kid either," reminds
Abby. Rick says they both grew up when he wasn't looking. Abby says it's
good that he recognizes this now. Rick asks if he & Abby can start over.
He introduces himself to her & sticks out his hand. They shake.

CARRIAGE HOUSE: While they eat breakfast on the couch, Blake tells Ross
that Dinah makes her own decisions & whatever she did is not Ross's
fault. Blake doesn't blame Dinah for going back to Rog--she knows her
father is very good at manipulating people & he obviously has Dinah
wound around his little finger. She thinks Ross has been a great father
to Dinah & will be a great father to their kids too.

Ross thinks Blake will be a natural, but he's not so sure about himself.
He talks about taking classes to learn how. He's not worried about the
diapers & such, but he's scared because he's so happy. Blake seems to
understand this. Ross thinks it's strange that Blake hasn't said much
about how she feels. "Same as you, I'm blown away. I'm excited, I'm
thrilled, I'm everything that a normal woman is," she says without
conviction. Ross says she's a terrible liar. If she has any doubts, she
can tell him. "You can tell me absolutely anything."

FARMHOUSE: Rog wants to have a look around & Dinah is protesting. They
enter the bedroom & Rog wonders jokingly if she's expecting someone. Of
course not, she replies. Rog thinks the place looks pretty much the way
he left it. Good, says Dinah, let's go home. Rog wonders why she's in
such a hurry. She says the place is a dump & she hates it. Rog can't
believe his son was raised there. He sits on the bed & asks her to tell
him what happened while he was in NY. Nothing happened, she answers. Out
in the hall, Hart is listening to their conversation. Then why is Dinah
worried that Hart's going to show up & cause trouble?

Dinah figures Hart is so cocky about his new wealth that he might try to
pay off the guards & take over the property. Since when does Hart have
any money? asks Rog. Dinah gives him the 411 on Henry's will. Rog is
incredulous. "Henry Chamberlain left money to my son," he says
disbelievingly. "Not money," corrects Dinah. "A fortune." But there's
nothing they can do about it, says Dinah.

Rog laughs & says it's just like Henry to use Hart to get to him, to put
him in his place. Dinah angrily tells Rog not to talk about her
grandfather that way. "If he wanted to get back at you, he had a million
reasons & you know it." Rog's expression turns ugly & he rises from the
bed. In the hall, Hart looks worried.

Dinah screams & jumps up on a chair, claiming to have just seen a rat
run across the floor. Rog tells her there are no rats, maybe just field
mice. Dinah doesn't care; they're all creepy, crawly vermin & she wants
to go home. Rog tries to calm her down. He knows the real reason she's
so nervous & wants to leave. It's because they're in the place where she
slept with Hart. Dinah begs Rog not to think about that. Rog says he'll
never forget the first time they made love, right her. He takes her in
his arms & says he wants to recapture what they started here. "I want
you right here & now." From the hall, Hart hears the sound of someone
plopping onto the bed.

CARRIAGE HOUSE: Ross says everyone is afraid of something. If Blake will
tell him her fears, he'll tell her his. "Oh Ross, I wouldn't even know
where to begin," says Blake truthfully. Ross wants to go first anyway.
He's afraid Blake will worry too much & not concentrate on how wonderful
she is. But he will remind her. Blake hugs him & says she doesn't
deserve him. Ross says he doesn't deserve her either, but he doesn't
feel guilty about it. He's just happy he got so lucky. "How you ever
fell in love with stodgy, old, litigious me is beyond comprehension."
Blake is touched & tells him he's good & loyal, warm & funny, sexy. Ross
says he's also happy & that's what scares him.

Blake agrees. She's afraid that things are too good & whoever gave it
all to her is going to realize it was a really huge mistake & it was
really all supposed to go to some other girl named Blaine Dorp. :-) Ross
doesn't think God gets the names wrong. They hug & Ross assures her that
they have each other & that makes them strong. They declare their mutual
love & start going at it on the couch.

BAUER KITCHEN: Rick is glad Abby isn't mad at him anymore. She makes
sure he understands why she was mad. When she's sure he's got it right,
she comes over to say good-bye. As Rick stands up, he knocks over some
of his books & papers. Abby kneels to help him pick them up & discovers
literature on the human reproductive system & fertility. Rick explains
that doctors have to keep up with stuff. Abby smiles at him strangely.
Rick pulls on his jacket.

MOTEL ROOM: As he continues to dress, J says he didn't force Michelle
into anything. He's sure Ed is doing a "real number" on her head right
now, too. Nola says J has gone too far. He promised her that he would
stay away from "that child," so how did they end up here? J says she's
not a child, but Nola says she's not a grown-up either. "She wanted to
be with me," mumbles J. "Don't you dare try to blame this on her,"
demands Nola. J tells her to chill out--there's nothing to blame anyone
about. And Michelle is not a little kid anymore. "No she's not, not
after last night," says Nola. "There you go again, jumping to
conclusions!" says J.

Nola asks point-blank whether J & Michelle had sex. J says that's
between him & M & he would never disrespect her by telling anyone what
went on between them. Nola says someone's going to get hurt & she
doesn't want it to happen. J says nothing happened last night & no one
was going to get hurt. If Ed wants to keep M under lock & key, that's
fine, but they both know it won't work, because it didn't work for him.
J stalks out of the room & Nola sighs. Then she breaks down in tears.

BAUER KITCHEN: Michelle stalks in, heading straight for her room, but Ed
stops her. He's not finished with her. "I don't understand what has
happened to you," he says, in the understatement of the year. He insists
that she's the one out of line, not him. Michelle gets all teary as Ed
reams her for disappearing all night, not coming home, not calling,
making him worry, you all know the lecture. And then to find her in a
cheap motel room with J, of all people. "How did you end up with a loser
like that?" he asks. M gets even more upset & tells Ed not to call J
names. Ed rants some more about trying to find her all night.

He reminds her that one of his few rules is that she's supposed to call
if she's going to be out late & tell him where she is & what she's
doing. She tries to leave, but Ed says he wants to hear her side of it.
"I want to know who's living in this house, pretending to be my
daughter." [My nominee for Line of the Week!] M says they're finished.
"I have nothing to say to you, now or ever!" She slams into her room.

CARRIAGE HOUSE: Blake & Ross cuddle on the couch. They are interrupted
by a knock on the door & briefly debate pretending they're not home.
Ross thinks it might be Fletcher with news about Meg, so he goes to the
door while Blake retrieves her robe. Ross swings the door open wide,
oblivious to the fact that Blake and her revealing negligee are in full
view. It's Rick & Ross is pleased as punch to see him.

FARMHOUSE: Dinah assures Rog that she's missed him, but the farm holds
bad memories of Hart for her. She's sick of talking about him. Rog wants
to erase all Dinah's bad memories. He kisses her on the lips & neck
while Dinah tries to convince him that she doesn't want to do it here.
In the hall, Hart looks very disturbed. His hand grips the doorknob as
the screen fades to black.
