Victor ---the mysterious man to whom Dinah (aka EuroTrash) owes mega-
bucks--- shows up outside Ross' house as she exits, and demands his
money.
Dinah transports to Vanessa's and pleads her case: she needs $60,000
or her ass is grass. Van offers to give her the funds - if she comes to
work for Lewis Oil and pays back the debt via paycheck deductions. Dinah
considers the proposal akin to de facto "slavery", and summarily rejects
it.
Van: "Fine. You're on your own, girl."
ET: "...again. I won't come back." Exit Dinah, in a huff.

Ross returns home to find Dinah packing a suitcase. Seems she's going
to Argentina to start life anew. Ross promises to cover her debts [!],
but Dinah insists she can handle herself: "...don't be sad, daddy; I
know you can't afford it...".
But Ross' heart is breaking at the thought of losing his only child,
and swears he'll do "whatever it takes" to keep her in Springfield:
mortgage the house, go back to work for the Spauldings, etc.
Dinah goes into faux(?)-shock at this offer.
Ross: "Honey, that's what daddys do..."
Nonetheless, Dinah goes into the bedroom to continue packing.
Ross gets on the phone to the bank, and arranges an immediate
appointment to refinance the house [!].

On the site of the coming 5th Street Ball, Fletch (fed up with
teasing about the bogus trip) punches Roger's lights out.
Holly offers her ex a handkerchief and applies it to his lip to stop
bleeding. It is not, however, a gesture of reconciliation, and Roger is
told so in short order. Fletch, pissed at the whole scene, returns to
the Journal and is applauded by Nick and the newsroom in general for his
machismo.
Alexandra pays a visit (part of her and the Dodger's "Plan B"?).
pointedly asking Fletch how it feels to have punched out Thorpe. :)
Next, she raps with Nick in the outer office, warning her son to avoid
"becoming a recluse like Fletcher" (snicker); she wants the Nick-ster at
the Ball.
Tangie, on the other hand, complains to Fletch that she wants to
cover the ball but not attend. Bzzzt. Ok, but she doesn't want to go in
costume. Bzzzt. Fletch orders "Mutt and Jeff" into his office, and pairs
them up as dates for the Ball. :)
[Buzz arrives briefly, and hits up Alex for _his_ date.
("You asking me for a date??!") Bzzzt. She's going with Alan.]

On the street below, Roger and Holly discuss recent events. :)
Miss Lindsey protests that she doesn't want anything to do with Roger
OR Fletcher. Right. And over at the Diner, monkeys are now flying out of
Nadine's butt...
Blake transports en scene, disturbed about happenings on her home
front. Rog leaves the women alone to chat.
   Blah, blah, blah.
Blake: "...Ross broke a trust when he chose to believe Dinah over me."
Holly assures her daughter things with Ross will work out, and they
walk off (just as Roger returns (behind them and out of sight), with
Holly noting:
"...when somebody loves you that much, it takes more than
(daughter-in-law) squabbles to destroy (the relationship)...".

Lucy (sans 98% of her usual makeup) makes an appearance at the Diner
and tries to talk to Buzz, but he's extremely busy with preparations for
the Ball.
[Other Diner moments: Caroll returns from his St. Louis truck
run, and, using the Diner payphone, "calls" Nadine and "lassos"
her as his date for the Ball; Eleni communicates her concern
about Lucy to Frank; Joanie (Nadine's friend) accepts an invite
    to the 5th Street festivities.]

Lucy next "punches in" at Spaulding, spots a huge floral arrangement
that Brent has left on her desk, and nearly goes into shock. Her hand
trembles as she reaches for an attached card, but she's stopped from
reading it when Alan Michael arrives. AM calls her into his office, and
clumsily tries to convey his newly-awakened feelings for her:
"...I want to change our 'deal' (about being
strictly friends); your voice, your perfume,
blah, blah, blah --- I'm trying to tell you how I feel...""
AM moves toward her, but Lucy backs up, and yells "Don't!". He
leaves, and Lucy breaks down in tears.
Moments later, Brent finds her at her desk, and assumes he's taking
her to the Ball [!]. His presence triggers HorrorFlashbacks in Lucy, and
she trembles when he (in an attempt to verify control,IMMHO) "caresses"
her face with his hand.

Brent and AM have a brief chat in the inner sanctum sanctorum, and he
informs his boss that Lucy has left the office. Brent is obviously
concerned that she may have relayed to AM some elements concerning the
date rape, but relaxes when he discovers that AM thinks HE upset her.
Alan Michael leaves for the day.
Lucy, however, is actually still on-site --- collapsed in the
storeroom, with tears flowing and sobs racking her body.
She's experiencing real mental and emotional anguish, and is deep in
the ebb tide of post-trauma syndrome.
