HIGHLIGHTS:
* Jesse talks to Michelle in the guise of Carlos Rodriguez.
* Vanessa thanks Dinah for standing by her & baby Maureen.
* Dinah tries to call off the plan with Rob.
* Josh tries to work up the courage to tell his family about Reva.
* Michael bursts into action when he hears that Josh wants to call off
the cloning.

CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING: Michelle taps her way into the lounge
as Jesse, dressed in white, gets oriented to his job by another staff
member. Jesse straightens some chairs & makes his way toward Michelle,
talking to her in Spanish. She remembers him from the other night. She
apologizes in a combination of English & broken Spanish for being rude
to him the other night, and introduces herself. Jesse claims to be
"Carlos." Michelle holds out her hand & Jesse just stares at it.

CEDARS: Vanessa tells Dinah that she's very hopeful about baby
Maureen, as Dinah helps her back into bed. Dinah thinks that Maureen
will surprise all of them. Vanessa doesn't know what they would have
done without Holly. Dinah feels bad that she wasn't a match. Van says
the important thing is that Maureen is doing well. Dinah asks how Van
is doing. Van says she's better than she wishes she was, because she
doesn't want to go home & leave Maureen alone in the hospital. Dinah
thinks Van should go home & get some rest, but Van says she would feel
like she was abandoning her baby. Dinah says nothing & Van apologizes
to her. Dinah says it's OK, but there is an awkward pause. Van decides
to call Matt & Dinah says she's going to check her messages. Van calls
her back. She doesn't know how to tell Dinah how much it meant that
Dinah stayed with her through this ordeal. She gives Dinah a hug &
tells her how much she loves her. "I love you too," says Dinah with a
sad smile. As she walks out the door, she wipes a tear from her eye.

Rob is waiting for Dinah in the hall & comments on her "performance."
Dinah asks what the hell he's doing there. He's supposed to be in
Cross Creek, seducing Cassie. "Been there, done that," he replies. He
wants to get on to more serious matters now.

CROSS CREEK: Cassie wipes whipped cream off Hart's shirt as they
laugh. Hart wishes Reva would get there so they can make her baby-sit
& go off by themselves. They share a kiss to their sappy theme music.
Cassie is worried because Josh & Reva should have arrived by now.

Out by HB's grave (which is a tree with a plaque, surrounded by a
bench), Josh talks to his departed dad. He wants HB to take care of
Reva, but keep his hands off her. He needs to know she's all right &
that HB is holding her close to his heart & keeping her warm. Josh
realizes it's time to tell the kids. He takes a deep breath & stands
up as the kids run to him through the woods. They give him a big hug &
ask where Reva is.

Josh says Reva couldn't make it. The kids are upset, because she
promised, & she never breaks her promises. Josh agrees with this.
There's no other mother who loves her kids as much as Reva. Marah asks
why Josh looks so sad. Josh says he's worried about Reva & he needs to
talk to them about it.

Josh stands up & says he has something important to tell them. Marah
says it's OK that Reva has to come later. The kids are planning a big
show & they will have more time to rehearse. Tammy shows up & asks
where Reva is. Marah says she couldn't make it just yet & suggests
that they give Josh a preview of their show. Josh thinks it's a good
idea to go back to the house, where Cassie & Hart are waiting. He
sends the kids up ahead.

Josh turns back to HB's grave & asks for help in telling the kids.
Marah calls to him to hurry up & Josh follows her after one more
lingering glance at the grave.

BLIND SPOT: Michelle continues to hold out her hand. Jesse says (in
Spanish) that his hands are dirty. Michelle figures this out & says it
doesn't matter, but Carlos refuses. Michelle asks his last name.
"Carlos" says his last name is "Rodriguez." She apologizes that she
only had 1 year of Spanish before switching to French & he replies
slowly in accented English that her Spanish is very good. She thinks
his English is better than her Spanish. Another worker calls Jesse
over & he excuses himself from Michelle. The other guy says Jesse's on
dinner detail & asks his name, since they weren't introduced earlier.
Jesse tells the guy to call him Carlos.

Jesse turns back toward Michelle, who is feeling her way through a
Braille book. She is very frustrated. Jesse asks if she's OK. She says
she'd be better if she were smarter. Jesse says she's "muy bonita"
(very pretty). Michelle disagrees. She says her brain is the problem.
Jesse repeats that her head & face are very pretty. He asks if she has
an "esposo" (husband). No, says Michelle. Then she decides maybe she
was, for a little while. They had their own marriage ceremony. It's
hard to explain, but she misses him so much. Jesse just stares at her.

CEDARS: Dinah asks Rob what happened at Cross Creek. He says the deed
is done. The wheels to dismount Hart & Cassie are in motion. He's
pretty proud of himself. Cassie could never resist him for long. Dinah
decides that Rob is lying. If he had made any progress at Cross Creek,
he would still be there. She reminds him that he's not supposed to
contact her in public. Does he want everyone to know what they're
doing? Rob thinks Dinah's a pretty good liar herself, after what he
saw a few minutes ago. If she's so happy about her little sister
pulling through, then he's the Queen of England. Dinah pulls back her
hand to slap him, but he grabs her & kisses her instead. She pushes
him away & stares at him. Rob has a self-satisfied smile on his face.

Dinah turns away & asks Rob what's wrong with him. She says he had to
either kiss her or smack her & he doesn't hit women. She tells him to
keep his distance. He says he's never forced himself on a woman & he's
definitely not going to start with her. Dinah says it's all over. She
doesn't want to continue with their plan. Rob doesn't think so. If she
doesn't go along, he'll expose her plan & she'll never get Hart back,
not that he knows what she sees in him. Rob understands what Cassie
sees in Hart; he's rich. But Dinah has her own money. She could have
any man, even Rob. "Now there's a repulsive thought," replies Dinah.
Rob thinks Dinah is glad he's around, but she says he's insane. He
tells her to admit it, confess.

"Confess what?" asks Vanessa, emerging from her room. She asks Dinah
who the man is. Rob holds out his hand & introduces himself as Father
Rob. Van takes in his leather jacket over a white T-shirt & looks
suspicious. Rob says things aren't always what they seem & calls her
"Mrs. Reardon." For some reason this makes Van smile & she says she's
pleased to meet him. Then she goes back in her room. Dinah hits Rob &
says he's a dead man.

MICHAEL'S APARTMENT: At least, I think so. There's a hardwood floor, a
scattering of new-looking furniture, & lots of open cardboard boxes
lying around. Michael enters with a box & starts his answering machine
playback while he unpacks. He hears Josh's message saying that he
doesn't want to go through with the cloning & is going to Cross Creek
to tell the kids. "No!" yells Michael. He tries to figure out what to
do. He remembers a name & looks it up in his address book. He calls a
woman named Vicky & says he knows how upset she was to lose her job
when Alan closed the lab. He wonders if she'd be interested in making
some extra money working for him. She'd need to start right away. She
says yes & Michael says she's a lifesaver. He gives her his new
address: 141 Red Valley Rd. He asks her to hurry over & thanks her.

Michael looks around & sighs. He hopes he can get to Josh before he
tells anyone about Reva, otherwise they're in serious trouble.

CROSS CREEK: The kids tell Cassie that Josh is there & they want to
set up their show. There's a projection screen set up in the front
room. Hart says they should let Josh wind down a little first. Josh
enters & Cassie welcomes him. She offers to take his coat, but he
elects to keep it. Cassie asks if everything's OK, & he says not
really. She asks where Reva is. The kids want to put on their show,
but Josh says they have to have a family meeting. Shayne says that's
what their show is about. The kids line up in front of the screen &
introduce their show, which is about the Lewises & the Shaynes. Cassie
looks over at Josh & sees how grim he looks. The kids continue,
blissfully oblivious.

Marah says it all started in Tulsa. Shayne says the Lewises were rich
oil tycoons & the Shaynes were poor as dirt. Tammy turns out the light
& Marah starts the projector. She narrates as she shows the slides:
Hawk & Sarah, who fell in love at first sight. Reva as a baby. Josh's
eyes go wide. "It's hard to believe someone with such a big
personality was ever that little," jokes Hart. Grandpa HB with Reva.
Clean-shaven Josh with Reva. "This was right before me," says Marah.
Josh confirms this sadly.

CFIL: Jesse hands Michelle a tissue. She apologizes for crying. She
says she loved someone very much, but she can't be with him. He asks
why. She says she couldn't tell him she was blind because she knew he
would throw everything away just to be with her. Jesse argues (in
Spanish) that she can't know this. Michelle says he would blame
himself for her blindness because he knew the people who did it to
her. Michelle says Jesse is smart & she wants him to take every
opportunity that comes his way. Even if he were to eventually find out
about her, she could never be with him again. Jesse just shakes his
head. Michelle says none of it probably makes any sense to Carlos.
Jesse yells in accented English that it makes no sense at all.
Michelle looks confused.

Michelle thinks Carlos sounds pretty angry. Dan walks in & watches the
scene. Jesse says (in Spanish) that he doesn't know what Michelle
wants him to say. He sees Dan & excuses himself, following Dan out of
the room.

Dan asks what Jesse thinks he's doing. Jesse says Michelle doesn't
know it's him & he's going to keep up the charade as long as he can.
Michelle is the best thing that ever happened to him. "What about
Michelle?" asks Dan. Jesse says he's going to make sure that this is
the best thing for her too.

CROSS CREEK: The slide show continues with Reva & Josh's wedding. Then
came Shayne. Some discussion ensues about why it takes 9 months for a
baby to come but only a week for a chick to hatch. [A bizarre reminder
that it's only going to take about a week for clone Reva to "hatch."]
Hart says it's because chickens don't talk. Tammy finds this perfectly
reasonable. Next is a slide of Josh, Reva, Marah (Ashley Peldon!) &
baby Shayne on the beach. Next is a picture of Josh & Reva that Harley
took in Florida, just before Reva lost her marbles & drove off the
bridge. Josh can't take it anymore & tells them to turn it off. He
stands in front of the screen.

Cassie asks if Josh is OK. Then my cable went out briefly. Marah says
she remembers how sad they were when Reva left the last time, but then
she came back & they were happy again. And now that they have Cassie &
Tammy, they're the perfect family. Josh slams out of the house. Cassie
says she'll go talk to him. She asks Hart to entertain the kids.

Hart tells the kids that pictures that remind people of a bad time can
be upsetting. Marah decides they should take out that last picture
before her mom arrives. Hart thinks that's a good idea & herds the
kids into the kitchen for a snack.

Out on the porch, Cassie says the kids just wanted to do something
nice for Josh & Reva. Josh says they're wonderful kids. They're Reva's
kids through & through. That's why this is so difficult. Cassie asks
what's going on. What happened to Reva? Did something bad happen to
her? Josh says it's cold. He thinks they should go inside so he can
talk to everyone together.

CFIL: Jesse & Dan continue their argument. Jesse says he loves
Michelle & they were practically married. Dan says Michelle's having a
hard enough time dealing with her own situation. Jesse asks Dan to
keep his secret awhile longer. Finally, Dan reluctantly agrees. He
urges Jesse to consider that sometimes loving someone means letting
her go, no matter the cost. Dan leaves & Jesse picks up Michelle's
book & brings it to her on the couch. Michelle apologizes for taking
Carlos away from his work with her big mouth. He says it's no problem.
He urges her to talk more. Michelle says it funny, that Carlos's voice
sometimes sounds a little like Jesse's. Jesse backs away.

Michelle says she thinks about Jesse that everyone starts to sound
like him. One of the good things about being blind is that you can
imagine whatever you want & it's almost real. She could talk about
herself forever. She remembers looking at herself talk in the mirror
as a kid. But what good is a mirror when you can't see. Jesse says
he'll be her mirror: she's very pretty. Michelle thinks Carlos would
make a good therapist: sit, listen & make "mucho dinero" (a lot of
money) & fix people's heads. Jesse repeats that Michelle's head is
very beautiful. Michelle asks if he has a girlfriend. Jesse says he
did, once. Michelle asks what happened. He says she left him. Michelle
is sad for Carlos.

CEDARS: Dinah can't believe that Rob just tried to pass himself off as
a priest. He thinks he did a pretty good job of it. Dinah says they're
done. He doesn't want any more to do with Rob because he's too
unpredictable & doesn't follow orders.

In her room, Vanessa calls Matt. She says the baby is fine. She asks
if Matt has ever heard of a Father Rob from St. Agnes church. He
hasn't. Van says she thinks Dinah is up to something. Van says she's
coming home for a few hours to shower & put on some real clothes. Then
she's coming back to the hospital.

In the hall, Rob is very impressed with his own abilities. Look at how
he fooled Vanessa. And he & Dinah make a pretty good team. Dinah says
they're not a team, because she has no idea what he's going to do
next. He says he operates on the spur of the moment, with no
hesitation. Isn't that what she needs? Dinah doesn't know what she
needs anymore. She has to think about it. Rob asks who else is going
to get Hart away from Cassie. Dinah is sure she has other options. Rob
dares her to name one. Dinah finally relents, since Rob has the ball
rolling already. But they need rules. Rob says what they need is a
win, & he's willing to do what it takes. Is Dinah?

CROSS CREEK: Josh & Cassie go back inside. Marah apologizes for
upsetting Josh, but he says it's OK. He's sorry if he scared the kids.
The show was beautiful. Reva would have loved it. Shayne says she will
love it. They can do it again for her.

Hart asks Cassie what's going on. She doesn't know.

Josh says he has something very important to tell them all. Marah says
they can handle it. Josh isn't sure about that. Everyone stares at
him. Josh says Reva really wanted to be there, but she couldn't. She
couldn't because...

Just then, Josh is interrupted by a knock on the door. Surprise! It's
the friendly neighborhood mad scientist, Dr. Burkenstein. He asks to
talk to Josh. Josh goes outside with him & asks what the hell he's
doing there; he was just about to tell the kids about Reva. Michael
warns Josh not to say anything as the screen fades to black.
