Brent and Lucy at work:

Brent rushes in, under the impression that Alan-Michael has called him
for an important meeting. He hasn't. Lucy has. It seems that someone has
promulgated the sexual harassment memo, but this time with Brent and
Lucy's name. Brent thinks it's no big deal, and he wants to leave it
alone. But Lucy is adamant and she drags poor Brent into Alan-Michael's
office where they find the boss prostrate and shirtless getting a massage.
The two of them are surprised, and Alan-Michael looks up and asks them
what it is that they would like.

Re-run of Monday's scene of Eve collapsing (possibly worst ever!):

Ed tells her to do some deep breathing. She tries to get him to forget
about it, and begs him to take her to the chapel (figuratively). He
refuses. Ed insists that she take a few tests.

Josh, Matt, Vanessa, etc. reread of HB's letter:

"P.S. Marry that girl, son." Vanessa sighs. She tries to ignore it, but
Matt says "I think HB is right. What do you say?" The phone rings. The
others run out of the room (actually Mindy pulls Josh out) to leave them
to discuss the situation. Vanessa says that HB is just joshing. "I warned
you...he's a real joker. Just ignore it." Matt wonders what it is that
Vanessa is afraid of.

Gilly in LA:

The LA guy is pressing Gilly hard. While photos are being taken of her,
he tries to plan out her life. He is sure he has found a star, and he
wants to make sure she gets famous fast. Gilly seems much less sure. She wants
to do a few more screen tests. The guy doesn't think that will be necessary.
He knows that she has what it takes. Sid appears at the door, and the guy
recognizes him and leaves. Sid and Gilly do the clinch. She says she
missed him, and he is surprised that she could think of anything amongst all
these riches. It's true, she says. She as a driver, her own personal make-up
person, an agent, and anything else she wants. Sid gets down to it. "Are
you going to take the job?" Gilly says that she asked for the moon. She
insisted that she write her own material, have complete editorial control,
and be her own producer. And they gave it all to her. "So, what did you say?"
"I told them..." The phone rings. It's some media person and Gilly jumps
into ass-kissing mode.

Ed and Eve:

Ed puts her on an examining table. He asks her is she has any other
symptoms. Eve doesn't answer the question, instead she giggles and flirts
with her doctor. He wonders if she has eaten today, and it occurs to her
that she hasn't. She concludes that it must be low blood sugar and she
should grab a candy bar on their way to Ross and Michelle and their date with
matrimony. Ed isn't having it. He wants to know if she has any other
symptoms. Eve says, no. Lillian, in the background, is surprised by Eve's
lie. Ed decides that they need to do some tests, and Eve complains
"Doctors always with the tests". She says that she's not sick, but nervous.
She is supposed to get married, you know. Again she begs to go. "Let's not miss
our chance." But Ed is immovable. He insists on her being tested, and he goes
to call Ross and Michelle and tell them what is up. "Please, please, we
are so close to saying I do." Ed leaves. Lillian asks Eve why she didn't tell
Ed everything.

Alan-Michael, Brent, and Lucy:

Alan-Michael asks them to close the door, and Brent takes care of it.
Lucy apologizes for coming in on him like this, but it's important. She (we)
wants an apology. For what? He was under the impression that they straightened
out everything yesterday. She did to, but that was before she saw this
new memo. He says that it is indeed "unfortunate". More than that, she
insists, it is humiliating. Okay, then, he's sorry. Brent grabs this
opportunity to try to pull Lucy out of the office. No luck, she isn't
finished. She say that she and Brent will be productive employees who see
each other outside of work. "I don't care what you do, just don't do it
in the supply room." That pleases Lucy and she is willing to leave. Once
outside, Brent who has been obviously unhappy in this entire scene, makes
his displeasure known to Lucy. Inside, Alan-Michael looks distressed as
well.

Eve and Lillian:

She is in deep denial. She says that it must just be nervousness and
stress. When Lillian points out that she felt this way before, when the
wedding was a ways off [maybe they hadn't even planned it yet, I forget].
But then she thought she was pregnant, Eve says. But she wasn't, Lillian
points out. So there was some other cause. Eve doesn't see this. Lillian
says she needs to see Dr. Sedgewick. Eve argues that she doesn't and when
is Lillian planning to see her? Lillian says this isn't about her, and
that Eve really needs to. Finally, she agrees.

Vanessa and Matt:

Matt doesn't think that HB was joking. Neither does Vanessa. She thinks
that HB is consciously trying to stir up trouble. "Why are you avoiding
the situation?" Matt asks. "What situation?" She says that he needn't react to
something that HB brought up. He says, fine, what if he brings it up.
"Don't. Why should we let something like that ruin it?" Matt thinks that
they should at least be able to talk about it. Vanessa says he is
thinking too much. He denies it. "Stop treating me like a joke." He
leaves in a huff.

Sid and Gilly:

Sid looks out the window, while Gilly continues to schmooze. It is
obvious by now that Gilly took the job. She hangs up and tells him that
this isn't the way she wanted him to find out. But it was such a huge
opportunity. This doesn't mean that they are on a backburner. She has
told everyone in LA about what a great guy he is.

It's okay, Sid says. He's not angry. He realizes that this is a huge,
fantastic opportunity, and she can't say no. He says that when the chips
were down, she believed in him, and now he can't possibly fail to back
her up.
"I only want the best for you." Gilly says "I knew I loved you before...
we are going to be just fine. We can do anything if we want it. This job
is the beginning." They are all fired up. He says "I've never loved or
wanted you more than I do right now." Turn out the lights.

Brent and Lucy:

Brent yells at Lucy. He says she has put him in a serious mess. She
dragged him in the boss's office to criticize him. He feels like a fool. Now he
may lose his job all for her "cockamamie" stand. He starts to go to
Alan-Michael's door, but decides that he better not make bad things worse.

Alan-Michael comes out of his office, and tells Lucy to cancel all his
appointments for the day. Lucy says that she didn't mean to upset him.
He says that everything worked out fine.

Vanessa and Mindy:

They discuss software problems. But Vanessa isn't really paying
attention.
Mindy quizzes her to remember anything she has said for the last few
minutes, and Vanessa can't think of anything. She says that she would like
to ring HB's neck. Mindy thinks grandaddy was just trying to help. Vanessa
isn't sure, but all she knows is that she and Matt have different views of
marriage. Mindy says that that is true. Matt is a marriage virgin and the
pair of them have been around the block a few times. But maybe she just
needs to look at commitment through Matt's eyes, and remember what it used to
feel like with all the "pink ribbons and passionate nights". Maybe the
reality of their lives have "had more pain than ribbons" and that "no
amount of passion can make up for all the heartache",
but maybe this time...Mindy worries that she has said too much, but
Vanessa is touched. They hug.
Vanessa just doesn't want Matt to hurt that way.

Josh at the Diner:

He sees Matt sitting in a booth and joins him, ready to talk
construction.
Matt is out in space. Josh says that HB just likes to rib people and Matt
shouldn't let it get to him. It's some kind of initiation. They all need
to develop thick skins to make it. "Ignore it, it will go away." Matt doesn't
want it to. He thinks HB is a smart man, and he knew exactly what he was
doing. Josh thinks it was a "crazy notion anyway", and a disgusted Matt
gets up and leaves.

Eve:

Margaret (Sedgewick) already has the results. Her GYN is normal [I have
no clue, I'm just quoting]. But her spleen is enlarged. She wants to do an
abdominal sonogram. Tonight. Eve begs her to do it sooner. She's getting
married. Margaret says she will try. She leaves, and Eve grabs her file
and reads it.

Ed runs into Margaret in the hallway and asks how the tests were. Not
too good; actually Margaret is quite worried.

Lucy and Brent:

Brent comes in looking for Alan-Michael. When he finds he's not there he
turns around to go. Lucy wants to know if he's angry. Of course he is.
"What is going on between the two of you, Lucy?" He feels like he walked into
the "middle of a mind game". Lucy admits that there used to be something
between them, but nothing came of it. They finally settled all of it last
night. "He has no feelings left for me," Lucy says. "And what about you?"
Or her either. Brent was not happy with the feeling of being clueless.
"It wasn't good Lucy; not good at all."

Gilly and Sid in bed:

They have just finished a love session. [An amazing thing about people
on soap operas is that they never fall asleep after one of these. Very
impressive people.] They discuss their future long-distance romance.
Sid admits that he has considered moving to California, taking the bar
exam there, and fighting the good fight in the city of Angels. Ever since
Gilly left, she is all he could think about. He's been running all his
life, and now a miracle has occurred. The woman of his dreams actually
says that she loves him. "It shouldn't be a choice," Sid concludes. "But
it still is," Gilly suggests. Not really. Things will work out, says Sid.

Josh and Buzz:

Buzz has decided that his ball needs a theme. The two gentleman discuss
their mutual acquaintance Tangie, and Josh defends her. Annie comes in
looking for take-out coffee. Josh wonders if she needs more help with her
rodent problem, but she thinks she can handle it. She's just so busy.
Josh wonders about that phone call she received. It seems like it has
really upset her. "Wrong. It was absolutely nothing." Josh is unconvinced.

Eve:

Ed says that he managed to swing things and she will be able to have her
sonogram immediately. He says "Happy Wedding Day". Eve says "there
couldn't be anything wrong with me when I feel this happy".

Lucy and Buzz:

The "charming old man" has come to bug his daughter at work. He needs a
of some kind to make his ball fly, and he wonders if she has any ideas.
Lucy tells him about the Brent difficulty. [At which point, I swear Buzz
said "What happened, Booby?" but that just can't be.]

Alan-Michael lifting weights:

He dangerously over-exerts himself [shirtless for the second time in one
show]. His frustration is apparent.

Vanessa at the beach:

She tugs at her bracelet. Matt comes in and sits beside her, and
wordlessly takes her hand.
