* Cassie & the kids get a surprise visitor at Cross Creek
* Blake confides to Holly about her problems with Ben
* Hart & Dinah get over some of their bitterness
* Josh grieves for Reva & Michael offers a way out

HARLEY'S APT: Harley is wearing only a towel when she opens the door &
discovers Phillip. He admires her outfit & asks to come in. Harley says
it's a bad time, but he comes in anyway. She asks him to turn around so she
can get dressed. "Why?" he asks. She's not falling for cute & he turns his
back while she slips into a robe. "I liked the towel better," he comments.
They walk into the main room & Phillip notices a suitcase packed full of
clothes. Harley says she is going away for a few days, but doesn't say
where. Also, she wants her key back from Phillip. "No," he says. He asks
again where she's going. Chicago, she answers. Phillip asks what's there.
"A big lake..." starts Harley. Phillip wants a real answer. Harley says she
needs to get away from everything. Phillip knows she's up to something &
says he won't leave until she tells him what it is. Harley fiddles with her
robe while she tries to come up with a good answer.

CROSS CREEK: Cassie & the kids are hanging out, playing a board game &
listening to the radio, which warns of a major storm. Cassie asks the kids
how many times they've been skiing. About 10, says Marah. Tammy & Cassie
have never been skiing before. There's a knock at the door & the kids guess
that it must be Hart. Shayne doesn't want a lot of mushy stuff. Cassie
answers the door & is annoyed to see Rob standing on the porch, dusty with
snow. She reminds him that she told him to stay away. He cares not & walks
right past her into the house.

CEDARS: Holly is on her cell phone & looking distressed when Blake arrives.
Blake heard that Holly had taken a compatibility test for baby Maureen &
asks if she's a match. Holly confirms that she is, and that she intends to
donate a kidney. But she seems very unsure. Blake asks about Fletcher, but
Holly tells her not to ask.

LEWIS HOUSE: Josh is asleep on the couch, tossing & turning. He comes awake
with a start when Reva touches his arm. She tells him he's been sacked out
for hours & can't hold his booze like he used to. Josh grabs her & hugs her
in relief. She asks what this is all about. He says he had a terrible dream
& describes about the kidnapping & how Annie left her in the plane to die.
Reva says she would never leave him, ever. Josh cries that the dream was so
real. Reva takes his hand & says, "This is real. I am real." She kisses his
hand & then fades into nothingness. Josh is crushed & then he comes awake
for real, on the couch. He cries out for Reva in despair & cries that she's
gone. He sobs pitifully.

He takes a slug out of a nearly empty bottle of booze & goes to the desk.
He picks up a slip of paper with a note or a list on it & hears Reva's
voice telling him all the things he's supposed to do around the house,
followed by taking her out to an extremely expensive dinner. He sits down &
sobs some more, then cries out, "Nooo!" and sweeps a bunch of stuff off the
desk. He can't believe she's gone. He picks up a Valentine's Day card from
Reva & hears her saying that she'll never, never leave him. He starts to
rip the valentine, but then hugs it to his chest instead. He looks at a
picture of the whole family & tries to tell Marah & Shayne that their mom
is gone, but he can't get the words out. "I can't," he cries.

CEDARS: Blake [holding a coat over her arm to cover LK's advancing
pregnancy] guesses that Fletcher doesn't approve of Holly's decision, but
understands that he would be concerned about the risk Holly is taking.
Holly says it's not that so much as that he thinks she's using it to avoid
going to Toronto. There are plenty of good schools for Meg that are closer,
and Holly says there's more to Fletch's desire for them to move than meets
the eye, although she won't go into details for Blake. Blake just hopes
Holly can talk Fletch out of moving. So does Holly, but she says Blake will
be fine without her. Blake says she needs Holly more now than ever. Holly
asks what's wrong.

Hart & Dinah walk in together. He is having trouble believing that Dinah
wishes him & Cassie the best. Dinah says she's still not over Hart, but
she's just trying to be adult about things. Obviously, he doesn't believe
her, though, so she gives up & starts to walk away. Hart apologizes & Dinah
accepts. She says she's learned a lot lately. She realizes that she's hurt
a lot of people, especially Hart & her mother, & she wants to try to make
up for it. Hart doesn't seem to think she's capable of this, so Dinah tells
him to just forget it. Hart walks away, but comes out when Dinah bends over
in pain. She explains that it's from the compatibility test, but since she
can't do anything right, she's not a match. "I guess I'm not much of a
match for anyone."

CROSS CREEK: Cassie follows Rob into the room where the kids are playing &
tells them to go play in another room. On her way out, Tammy tells Rob that
she wants to go sledding with her mom. Rob suggests that she can go
sledding with both him & Cassie, but Tammy just wants to go with her mom.
After the kids are out of the room, Rob comments that Cassie has done quite
a number on Tammy. Cassie asks how Rob found out where they were & how he
got there, with the roads in such bad shape. Rob says he called her office
to find out where she was, & he took a helicopter to get there. She tells
him to get back on it & disappear, but he says the weather is too bad now.
She doesn't care. She shows him to the door. He insists that he's not the
same guy he used to be. They are interrupted by the phone.

Cassie answers a call from Josh. He's got a pained smile on his face & is
trying to sound normal. He tells her he won't be up at Cross Creek until
tomorrow. She asks if everything is OK. He says yes. She notices that he
said "I" rather than "we" when he talked about coming to CC, so she asks
about Reva. Josh says he'll talk to her about it when he gets there. He
asks about the kids & their visit with Rusty. She says they had a great
time & didn't want to leave. She says they miss him a lot & warns him to be
careful driving up. She reminds him to tell Reva that she has to teach her
how to make a stew. Josh bites his lip & tries to hold back his grief.
Cassie thinks they have a really bad connection. He sends his love to the
kids & she offers to put them on the phone, but he says he's running out
the door to an appointment. He repeats his message for the kids & Cassie
senses that something is wrong, but Josh has already hung up the phone.

HARLEY'S STUDIO: Harley gets a short, sleeveless dress out of the closet &
says she doesn't have to take the 3rd degree from Phillip. She adds the
dress to her suitcase. Phillip says he really just came by to tell her that
Rick & Abby got married. Harley knows. Phillip points out that despite all
their problems, Rick & Abby still managed to find a way to be together. He
wonders how stupid he & Harley would have to be to not find a way to work
things out. "Don't you think I want that?" replies Harley. "You tell me,"
responds Phillip. Harley wants to know about Beth. Phillip says there's
nothing to tell. "Well then I need a kiss," says Harley, pulling Phillip
close. He promises to carry her over the threshold of their new house &
make love to her in every room. They kiss. "And then as soon as Beth is
back on her feet, I'm going to pack my stuff..." Harley backs away, saying
"No, no, no." She holds her head in frustration & runs her hand through her
hair. Nothing has changed, she says. It's always Beth, Beth, Beth.

Speak of the devil, Beth walks right into the apartment, saying she wants
to talk to Harley. Harley is outraged that Beth would walk into her place
with out even knocking. "How dare you interrogate my daughter," retorts
Beth. Phillip tries to interrupt, but Beth pushes him aside & warns Harley
to stay away from Lizzie, lest she regret it. Harley winces & runs her hand
through her hair again.

CEDARS: Blake says there doesn't have to be anything wrong for her to want
Holly to be around. She just needs someone to talk to when she has an
argument with Ross or whatever. They've come such a long way. Holly can
tell that something is really wrong. Blake admits that it's Ben. He's made
their lives a living hell. He hates Ross & is intent on hurting him. Holly
says Ross is very strong. Blake says nevertheless, Ben is getting to Ross.
She tells Holly about the missing tape & how they think Ben is withholding
it, but Ross backed down & let Abby accept the plea bargain. Holly asks why
Blake is so involved in this. "Because Abigail's my friend," says Blake.
Holly says Abby is her friend too, but neither of them are lawyers & they
should leave the law to Ross. She knows there's something else & asks Blake
to tell her what's going on between her & Ben Warren.

Dinah offers to walk Hart out. As they start to leave, she collapses. He
sits her down & says they need to get her something to eat. "What about
your trip?" she asks. Hart says he can postpone it. Dinah smiles weakly.

LEWIS HOUSE: Josh puts down the bottle of booze, pops a tape in the
answering machine & hits the play button. He listens to Reva's final
message, made from the airplane & takes another slug from the bottle. He
hugs the bottle to him & cries as the tape plays. He remembers talking to
her in the hospital recently, when he told her how they went to look for
their hearts in Italy & she told him how much she loves them all & would
never leave them again, even if someone killed her. "Always." Josh sobs
some more as the tape continues to play & then ends.

HARLEY'S: Phillip asks Beth what she's talking about. Beth says Harley got
Lizzie alone & was quizzing her about their family life. Harley claims she
was just talking to Lizzie; they're friends. Beth says Harley is not her
friend & to keep away from Lizzie. Harley & Beth bicker at each other
loudly until Phillip yells for them to stop. Beth backs off. Phillip says
he's sick of being in the middle of this. He wants to get some things
straight. To Beth: He loves Harley & is going to move in with her & nothing
Beth does will stop that. Beth wants to say something, but Phillip won't
let her talk. To Harley: He's staying in the house with Beth & Lizzie until
Beth is back on her feet. Harley rolls her eyes & points out that Beth made
it over to the apartment just fine. Phillip says this is what he's doing &
that's the end of it. Beth accuses Harley of lying, but Phillip tells her
again to shut up. "I know what you are, Harley," warns Beth as she leaves.

Phillip turns to Harley & asks her what that was all about. Harley claims
to have no idea. She found a scrunchie of Lizzie's behind the couch &
brought it over because she missed Lizzie. So they talked. But Harley has
no idea why Beth went ballistic; she's obviously paranoid. Phillip accepts
this, much to Harley's surprise. He knows she wouldn't lie to her. Harley
looks a little guilt-ridden.

LEWIS HOUSE: The doorbell rings & Josh rushes to the door. It's Michael
Burke. He asks what's going on & whether it's a bad time. "Yes," says Josh.
Michael says he came to discuss a project. Josh asks him to go away.
Michael follows him into the house & asks what's wrong. He sees the stuff
on the floor & starts to pick it up, but Josh yells at him not to touch
anything in the room. Michael apologizes. Josh sobs a couple of times, then
pours himself a drink, asking Michael if he's ever been married. Michael
says no. Josh says things special little intimate, private things happen in
a marriage. Sacrifices that aren't really sacrifices at all. You learn
things about each other. There are thousands of little things that make up
a marriage & suddenly, one day... You don't really appreciate what you have
until... Michael asks where Reva is. "Gone," says Josh. "She's really
gone." He takes a big gulp of his drink. "She's dead."

CROSS CREEK: Cassie is sure Rob will find another meal ticket. He always
has a few aces up his sleeve. Rob says for the first time in his life, he's
aced out. He knows he was a lousy husband & father, but he loved her & he
loves Tammy too. "I'll see you later," he says, which brings Tammy & the
other kids running into the room. Tammy asks where he's going. Cassie holds
Tammy protectively. Shayne notes that it's snowing really hard. Rob says
he's going parachute skiing in the Rockies & explains to the Lewis kids how
it works. They think it's very cool. Rob goes over to Tammy & asks if she's
going to say good-bye. She turns toward her mom & clings to her. Rob says
he loves both her & Cassie very much. To Cassie, he adds that his luck ran
out when he lost her, & places a card in her hand. He takes his coat &
walks toward the door. Cassie stares at the card in her hand--a queen of
hearts. Rob leaves.

LEWIS HOUSE: Michael brings Josh a cup of coffee & Josh tells him about
Reva's disappearance at the office. At first he thought it was a joke, but
then he got a call from Annie, who had Reva tied up on a plane. Annie told
him to go to an address in the Florida keys to see Reva again. When he got
there, he found a videotape of Reva on the plane & Annie saying that Reva
was going down with the plane. He searched all night for her & the Coast
Guard is still searching. He knows they won't find her & all he has left is
her voice--the voicemail message she left in her last moments. All she was
thinking about was him, not herself. Why couldn't he get her home safely?
Michael is sure Josh did all he could. Josh cries that he can't live
without Reva. He wants her back so much. He sobs & sobs.

HARLEY'S: Phillip sits on the couch with Harley & asks her again why she's
going to Chicago. Harley says she's meeting a client there. Phillip fiddles
with the clothes in the suitcase as he asks why she didn't just tell him
that in the first place. Harley says she didn't feel like talking to him
when he came in. He asks why she's taking a summer wardrobe to Chicago. She
takes her clothes back from him & shoves them back in the suitcase. Maybe
she wants to go somewhere warm afterwards for some R&R. Phillip doesn't get
what Harley is so PO'd about. Didn't he lay it on the line? Sure, says
Harley. He's staying with Beth until she's back on her feet. Phillip
realizes they're back to square one. Harley agrees. As long as he's living
in the same house as Beth, she has to keep her options open.

"Your options?" asks Phillip with a laugh. Harley says maybe she'll go to
the beach & meet a guy & have a fling. Phillip smiles at this, knowing
Harley is not the fling type. "Maybe you don't know me as well as you think
you do," says Harley. She asks if she's still free to do what she wants.
"Yeah, you're free," says Phillip. He laughs as tells her to have a good
time in Chicago. Then he leaves. "Good riddance," says Harley. Then, after
the door closes, she whispers, "Come back, please." She realizes that now
she has nothing to live.

CEDARS: Blake says there's nothing going on between her & Ben. Holly says
the air seems charged between them. Blake says Ben has been coming on to
her. Holly is shocked & asks if Blake has told Ross. Blake says she hasn't
told him everything. Holly thinks she should, but Blake says Ross would go
crazy. She wants to handle it herself. Holly isn't so sure Blake can handle
Ben. Blake says she has to. Holly asks if Blake has tried ignoring him.
Blake says she's tried that, plus yelling at him & everything.
"Everything?" asks Holly. "You haven't slept with him, have you?" Blake
says no; she'd rather sleep with a snake. He's the most despicable, hateful
man she's ever met. Holly says he sounds just like Roger.

Blake says it's not like that at all. Inside Roger, there's something
decent. He's capable of love. Ben wouldn't know that if he fell on it. He's
totally irredeemable. Holly says that's just what she used to say about
Roger & warns Blake to watch out. "Men like that have a way of getting
under your skin, and once they do, it is very hard to shake them." Blake
asks if they're talking about Roger or Ben. Holly says Blake should just be
careful. She should go home to her husband & tell him she loves him. Blake
says there's nothing to worry about & nothing going on between her & Ben.
Holly says it gives her great peace of mind to know how happy Blake is with
Ross. Blake says it's the same as with Holly & Fletcher. This gives Holly
pause. Blake tells Holly to stop fretting. She says she's going to check in
with the sitter, but when she steps aside, she calls Ben on her cell phone.

CROSS CREEK: Out on the porch in the snow, Rob says good-bye to Marah &
gives Shayne his sunglasses. He gives Tammy a kiss on the cheek & then
leaves. Inside, Cassie sends the kids into the kitchen for cocoa. Outside,
Rob's car cranks & cranks, but won't turn over. Cassie winces. She can't
believe this is happening. Rob knocks on the door & says his car won't
start. "What did I do to deserve this?" complains Cassie. Rob asks to come
in & Cassie doesn't really have much choice. Rob doubts he can get a
mechanic to come out in this weather. Cassie says Hart will get the car
started when he arrives. Rob suggests they make the best of their time
together, but Cassie rebuffs him.

LEWIS HOUSE: Michael shares that he also lost the woman he loved. The pain
was indescribable. Josh doesn't know where he will find the strength to
tell his kids about Reva. Michael says Josh is very strong. Josh disagrees.
Michael picks up a wallet from the floor & notices a card in it. He asks
Josh what it is. Josh takes it & looks at it. He tells Michael that Reva
had some eggs harvested in case they wanted to have children again & she
wasn't able. Michael tries to get Josh to listen to him. "Don't tell the
kids yet. Don't tell anyone that Reva is dead." Josh doesn't get it. "Trust
me on this," says Michael. "There may be a way for you to have Reva back,"
he suggests, as the screen fades to black.
