MATT: PARTY PLANNER EXTRAORDINAIRE
Vanessa asks Josh for advice on what she should wear to the party
she and Matt are throwing for all their friends that evening.
Matt is making all the plans, much to Josh's amusement. The
doorbell rings; it is Matt, without the food Vanessa expected
he'd be bringing.

Vanessa tries to help Matt with party plans, but he tells her to
chill out, he's hired caterers. Vanessa begs Josh to be on his
best behavior for the party. He agrees, but wryly says "Oh boy!"
when Vanessa is out of earshot.

ROGER'S TORMENT:
Holly wonders why Roger didn't join her in bed last night.

Roger is acting pissy because of Holly's cryptic confession of
the other day. Holly says she thought they made a deal, but
Roger says no deals, and wants to know the details. He continues
to badger her about her "mistake" but she won't crack. He even
tries telling her he'll forgive her for whatever it was, and she
seems ready to crack, but is saved by Fletcher calling to tell
her about Tangie arriving in Springfield this afternoon. Holly
is surprised, Tangie isn't supposed to be back until tomorrow.
When she hangs up, she tells Roger she has to leave. She tells
him she'll never tell him about her mistake, and he'd better get
over it if he wants a life with her.

WHAT'S A GIRL TO DO?:
Buzz and Nadine worry about Frank and Eleni because they haven't
heard from them in a while.

Frank begs Jorgos (sp?? Our local newspaper spelled it Giorgio,
but that didn't seem right to me) to take him to Eleni, but
Jorgos says it is too late in the evening to go.

Eleni confronts Cristo, who refuses to talk to her. Dimitria
shows up, surprised to see Eleni. Cristo wants Eleni to go back,
but the fog is too thick for the boat to come back and get her.
Cristo orders his sister to order the cook to prepare them
dinner. Eleni wants to talk to Cristo and make him understand
why she didn't want to obey the agreement that they should marry.
Eleni tells him of her dreams of going to America. She explains
that she not only hurt him when she went to America, but also her
family. She continues to try to explain to him about following
your dreams, but he doesn't want to listen.

Buzz tries to get Nadine's attention, but she's trying to
"visualize" Eleni in Greece. Buzz is amused, but notes that he's
"working on this new-fangled thing here called a telephone. I've
got a call in to YaYa, but let's see who connects first!" During
all this, Fletcher broods at the counter while reading a
telegram/fax from Tangie announcing her arrival time back in
Springfield (gee, I guess they don't have any of those new-fangled
telephones in Hong Kong!). Nadine feels that Fletch has
a bad aura and that something is terribly wrong.

Eleni continues to try to explain about her dream. Cristo notes
she doesn't look rich. She says she once was, but has realized
what she really wanted was love with he right man. Cristo isn't
impressed. Eleni says they were just a business arrangement and
that they were never in love. Cristo tells her he was always in
love with her. [BTW, did any notice that they don't appear to
have electricity on this island? You'd think with all Cristo's
supposed riches, they could at least afford a few lamps!]

Frank doesn't care about the fog, but Jorgos and YaYa tell him
he's crazy. YaYa tells him to let Eleni do what she must do.

Cristo professes his love for Eleni. She apologizes for not
knowing. He claims her brothers didn't think he was good enough
for her because he was such a wimpy kid. He became a soldier to
make himself strong and worthy of her love. However, when he got
back, she was gone. He tells her he knew about her wedding to A-M in
the village.

Nadine explains his bad aura to Fletcher, who isn't impressed.
She thinks something is wrong, but Fletcher leaves.

In the Taverna, YaYa and Jorgos try to get Frank to calm down.
YaYa tells him that Cristo is an honorable man, and that it is
good Eleni is talking to him. Frank comments about how such a
wimpy, skinny person can rule their lives. He shows YAYA and
Jorgos the picture of Cristo that he has, and they tell him
Cristo has changed. Frank wants to know what he looks like now.
YaYa motions to the bar and says he looks like "him." Frank
looks and sees a fat, ugly man and says he isn't worried. Jorgos
points out it isn't the guy YaYa was pointing out, it was a
picture of a Greek god hanging on the wall. Frank looks worried.
YaYa tells him to trust Eleni. Frank trusts her, but not Cristo.
YaYa says he must not disturb Eleni on the island.

Cristo pours Eleni a glass of wine (from the family vineyards).
She mentions hearing him playing the piano, and notes he has a
great deal of talent. She asks about his plans for the future.
Cristo says he wants her and tries to caress her face. She
reminds him she's married and has a child and that they can never
be. Cristo wants to know if she loves her husband. Eleni says
more than life. Dimetria announces that dinner is ready and
sends Eleni to clean up. She tells Cristo the fog is lifting and
she's sent for a boat. Cristo tells her to send it back, he wants
Eleni to stay the night.

SHE'S BAAAACK:
Tangie arrives in the airport and runs into a woman dressed all
in black, wearing shades. The woman helps Tangie clean up her
dropped belongings, and tells Tangie that someone stole her
wallet. Tangie offers her money for the bus ride and telephone
call. OF course, she takes it. (So this must be Dinah!). She
uses the money to buy French cigarettes, and lights up in the
terminal.

Holly picks up Tangie at the airport. Tangie isn't impressed.
Holly tells her she and Roger are back together, and Tangie
shouldn't take advantage of what she knows. Holly offers her a
good position at the Journal in exchange for her silence.
Tangie agrees if she can be a staff investigative reporter with
her own byline. Tangie wonders how Fletcher is in this deal.

ROG PLAYS DETECTIVE AND DINAH IS IMPRESSED WITH MATT:
Roger calls the phone company in an attempt to get the phone
number of the person who called Holly. They tell him to dial a
code and it will redial the last person who called. Roger does
this, and gets the Diner phone. Dinah picks it up, and informs
Roger the phone is in a Diner. After hanging up on Roger, Dinah
orders coffee from Nadine who tells her she can't smoke inside.
This gets Dinah in a huff, who leaves to smoke outside and passes
Matt on his way in. She notes he's cute. Matt waits to talk to
Buzz, who is on the phone to Crete, and Dinah moves in for the
kill. He explains to her that he's making plans for a party he's
throwing with his girlfriend, and Dinah wonders what the big deal
is. Matt explains that his girlfriend is above the chips and
beer type of party. Dinah surmises she must be part of the
county club set and asks if they're lovers. Matt ignores her.
Dinah complains about the weak American coffee. Matt guesses
she's new in town. She says she's quite familiar with
Springfield, and notes that as soon as she can hit her parents up
for more funding, she'll be heading back to Europe.

CATERING FOR CARPENTRY:
Buzz returns from his phone call, and Matt inquires about the
catering for the party. Buzz doesn't know what he's talking
about. Matt explains that he and Frank made a deal a while ago
where Matt would exchange 20 hours of carpentry for catering. He
left a message for Eleni on the answering machine, but Buzz says
she's gone. However, Buzz wants to know more about the deal.
Buzz makes arrangements to do the catering, Matt trusts Buzz on
the menu. After Matt leaves, Buzz announces to Nadine that they
are catering a party at Vanessa's in 3 hours. Nadine says no way
will she cater a party for her ex-husband's ex-wife who can't
stand her. Buzz reminds her that it might have something to do
with her pretending to be pregnant with Billy's baby. Nadine is
not amused. ;)

IT'S SHOWTIME:
Vanessa and Matt play kissy-face before the party. Josh walks in
on them, in a good mood for once. Vanessa asks when Eleni will
be there, and Matt explains that Buzz and Nadine will be doing
the catering. Vanessa's face falls.

At the Diner, Nadine hauls around a huge tray of food in an
evening dress, complaining about having to cater Vanessa's party.
Buzz and Nadine notice Dinah, crashed out in a booth, and kick
her out because the Diner is closed. Nadine looks worriedly at
the phone, and Buzz reassures her that if anything bad happened
to Frank or Eleni, they'd be informed.

At Vanessa's, Nadine feels uncomfortable in Vanessa's home, and
Buzz comforts her at the same time Josh and Matt comfort Vanessa.
They both resolve to make it through the evening. Vanessa
compliments Buzz and Nadine on the food. They have an
uncomfortable conference until Nadine leaves to check on the
spinach pies. Buzz tells Vanessa that he thinks she and Matt
make a great couple. Buzz goes to check on Nadine, and Vanessa
and Matt predict a great party. They are kissing when the
doorbell rings. It is Dinah. Vanessa is surprised, but
introduces her to Matt. Dinah smiles wickedly. [So, did Dinah
not run into anyone who wouldn't know who she was? Seems to me
she's met every new character who is still in town since she
left...].

THE PLOT THICKENS:
Holly arrives home to find Roger gone. She calls the station
looking for Roger as Fletch arrives at the door with insurance
papers to sign. Holly tells him that she and Roger got back
together.

Roger arrives at Tangie's, and chit chat about her trip (which
happened to coincide with the Kobe earthquake). She offers him a
glass of wine, and Roger asks her what it was that she was going
to tell him about Holly before she left town.

That's it!
