It's still Valentine's Day in Springfield

                         THE TOWERS

Vanessa and Matt arrive, he wonders if he should go get a white shirt
and bowtie, like everyone else (he's wearing a black shirt and no tie).
Vanessa says no. Blake & Ross come in next and are seated right next to
them.

Mindy and Nick are there also, he wants them to pretend it's their
first date. They should just enjoy each other and not talk about the
baby. Sid gives Gilly a Valentine's day card.

                        ROADHOUSE

David, Bridget & Lucy arrive. Lucy is complaining about "this couples
thing" and "this love thing is completely overrated". David agrees with
her, while Bridget looks at the crowd. Lucy proposes a toast "to friends
& not to any guy screwin up my life". She turns around and sees
Alan-Michael with Brent.

                        THE JOURNAL

Stu dumps a bag of personal ads on a desk complaining about keying them
into the system. Fletcher tells him to dump them because "there's nobody
out there for anybody anyway, it's one vast loveless wasteland."
Fletcher is working on an article that Valentine's Day is a scam, a plot
between the florists, candy makers & greeting card companies and "they get
everybody all het up with these sugar-coated sentiments. Happy
Valentine's Day, Holly."

                        HOLLY'S HOUSE

Holly: "It's you, it's always been you. I want you back. Will you
marry me? You've been so patient, all that I put you through. I
wouldn't blame you if you said no."
Roger: "Relationships can get pretty rocky, we know that, but we got
through it, so it's over. It's all over."

                        THE TOWERS

Hamp watches Gilly & Sid smootch. Matt & Blake each leave their tables.
Vanessa tells Ross she's ready for him to say something about her being
with Matt. Ross tells her they've known each other too long for her to
underestimate him that much. It seems to him that she has the real deal.

Mindy and Nick talk about his job and their first Valentine's Day. Nick
worries that they won't get the baby, so they shouldn't tell anyone else
about it.

                        THE JOURNAL/HOLLY'S HOUSE

Fletcher asks Stu to get statistics on how miserable people get on
Valentine's Day. Alex comes in to talk about the adoption. She wants to
get their stories straight-- that Nick and Mindy are living at her
house. She gives him a gift, because she doesn't like him being mad at
her. She's about to leave when he calls her back. {As we watch Fletcher we
hear Roger telling Holly that a marriage proposal is so unexpected.}

Holly: "You haven't said yes."
Roger: "Why shouldn't I?"
Holly: "What I've put you through, I promise to make it up to you."
Roger: "Make what up? You just made me the happiest man alive! Yes, of
course I'll marry you."
Holly: "For better or worse."
Roger: "The worse is behind us, I'm never letting you go."

Roger apologizes about Alex and Holly starts kissing him. She tells him
how unfair she was, sending mixed messages. She loves him, she always
has, and always will. He wonders why she's so sure now. What happened
at Silver Mountain to change her mind. "We can't have any secrets, since
we're going to be married. What happened to you, just say it, I can
take it. Whatever it is."

                          ROADHOUSE

David, Bridget, & Lucy are dancing. Brent tells A-M that Lucy is a
doll. A-M thought that Brent knew her and explains that she works for
him. Brent asks who she's with. A-M says a couple of friends. Brent--
so she's not dating anybody. A-M: No, she's pretty choosy.

Some guy asks Bridget to dance & wonders if David is her date. She tells
him that he isn't, but she doesn't want to dance with him. Lucy asks
Bridget why she said no, but Bridget runs to get more drinks. David
tells Lucy to relax, they're not trying to impress anyone. A-M
introduces Brent to Cutter. Lucy notices Cutter and asks a guy to dance
(the one that asked Bridget). David wonders what got into her. Bridget
thinks it's Valentine's Day. They'll all be better off once it's over.
David asks if she's thinking about Dylan, has she been looking for him?
She knows he's in Duluth and would rather spend it there than with her.

                          THE TOWERS

Vanessa & Matt are dancing, she bumps into Vivian Grant who just stares
at them. Vanessa wonders if they should leave, because of the stuffy
people there. Matt wants to stay.

Gilly gets flowers & candy from Sid. He wonders if it's too much. She
loves being treated like a queen.

Vanessa makes a call about Peter & overhears Vivian talking to another
woman about Vanessa. "Clearly she has no idea how much older she looks
than that young man." "You'd think she'd keep it behind closed doors."
"I know a few woman who'll be jealous. He's very healthly looking." "I
give it 6 months, tops." "You know when it'll end-- when she buys him a
car." "Someone should tell her to get rid of the silly band around her
wrist." "She's acting like a teenage girl-- maybe they're going steady?"

                          HOLLY'S HOUSE

Roger asks Holly if she wants him to sleep in the guestroom. She says of
course not. He gives her decaf tea to relax her. Holly says she is
relaxed and glad to have all this past them. Roger asks if it is, he
did hide things from her about Alex & a wall grew up between them. Holly
says that won't happen again. Roger tells her it can if they don't get
things out in the open where it can't come back to haunt them. "Don't
protect me, just tell me what happened."

Holly: "I got myself in a terrible place." Roger wants to know what
that means, what did she do. Holly: "Something I regretted as soon as
it happened, & now it's over & it's not going to go away unless we put it
behind us. You have to let it go." Roger: "If only I knew what it
was." Holly tells him to let it go, it's the only way they'll make it.
"I have forgiven you over & over. I put faith in us. You have to do
that. I'm not asking you to do something I haven't done already for
you. Can you do that for us?"

Roger agrees and gets out two bottles of champagne to celebrate. They
are from the night he was going to propose.

                          THE JOURNAL

Fletch tells Alex she doesn't sound like herself. She's worked things
out with Alan & A-M. She wouldn't have interferred with Holly and
Roger, if Roger hadn't been so deceitful, used her and embarrassed her.
She is trying to undo some of the damage.

                          TOWERS

Matt finds Vanessa and as they go back to their table they stop to talk
with Vivian & Isabella Scankton (sp?). They talk about his dancing to
music from another generation and how well Vanessa look. She says it's
because she's happy.

Blake tells Ross that this town needs a detective agency to help people
track down their true love. Ross thinks it's chemistry and can't be
predicted. She wonders why he was so nice to Vanessa. He thinks they've
been mad long enough.

Matt thinks Isabella & Vivian are jealous. She thinks it's because he's
so young & beautiful. He tells her he heard what they said & it doesn't
matter to him, all that matters is that he loves her. He's going to
stand on his chair and tell everyone. She grabs him & says they'll have
a party with his friends & her friends. He wants it to be tomorrow at
her house. They go around the restaurant inviting people to the party.

                         ROADHOUSE

Bridget rushes to a blond man at the bar. "Dylan, I knew you'd come
back!" But it's not Dylan, & he grabs her. David rescues her.

Cutter goes to Lucy & wants to clear up the other night. He thought she wanted
him to kiss her. Lucy wants to forget about it, but he doesn't want her to
think he's taking advantage of her. She leaves & asks that guy to dance
again.

Brett tells A-M that his "secretary" looks like alot of fun. A-M tells
him she's not his secretary, she's a friend and a nice kid.

                         SPAULDING HOUSE

Nick & Mindy enter their bedroom. Mindy says their room has alot of
memories. Nick tells her that Donna made up two rooms and he'll stay in
the other one if she wants him to.

                         ROADHOUSE

Outside, Bridget tells David that Dylan's gone & he's not coming back, so
why can't she let it go.

Inside, A-M tells Brent that he looks after Lucy, she had a rough year.
Cutter is also watching Lucy dance. He tells Doris that he can't figure
women-- too many mixed signals. Doris says they just like to flirt-- she
does too. He asks if she's heard from Tangie about when she'll be back.
She just called to say she's home. A-M overhears.

                          HOLLY'S HOUSE

Holly says it's late, they could bring the bottle with them. Roger
doesn't think he's ever seen her drink this much. "You've never seen me
celebrate an engagement before." She wants him to come with her, but
he'll be in, in a minute. He grimaces.

At the Towers, Hamp plays the saxophone and looks at Gilly, who looks at him
until Sid asks her to dance. Vivian & Charles, Ross & Blake also dance.

Fade to a noisier Roadhouse where Lucy is still dancing. The guy she's dancing
with tries to kiss her, she backs away, & goes out to Bridget & David.
David puts his arms around both of them.

Roger agonizes over Holly.

Fletch stares at his computer.

Matt & Vanessa throw their clothes around his room.

Mindy is in bed & pretends to be asleep when Nick sits down on the bed.

                  That's it for today! Karen
