Some new juror or something for OJ and Kurt McKinney tells us all that GL
will be worth the wait. Fortunately, the wait isn't but a few minutes...

Bridget cooking at Company:

The camera pans out and we see Lucy sitting at the table reading. Matt
also sits. No talking just the sound of a clock ticking. Finally, Lucy can't
take it (it's like some Pirandello play), and she jumps up yelling that it
is a Friday night and the three of them are just sitting around "vegetating".
She accuses them (and herself) of being "pathetic".

Josh at the Lewis household:

Josh is on the phone. Mara dances around the room. Henry stands in the
middle of the room, looking on. Vanessa and Bill enter and Vanessa beams with
pride. Seems Bill made the winning goal in the hockey game. Mara says "Daddy's
got a date!" Josh denies this. "I'm having dinner with someone who happens to be
a female." Vanessa smiles, and the doorbell rings. "She's early, I can't believe
it."

Mindy and Nick at the journal:

Nick pushes Mindy again. He says that "not choosing is a decision".
He thinks that they are both getting used to being apart. He asks her to
"admit what's happening here". She says nothing. Fletcher comes in and says
that he is ready to go for broke.

Roger at Holly's:

Roger looks through Holly's datebook. He reads a few of the meetings
and sees Fletcher's name and assumes that it's business. Holly comes in and
Roger darts away. She goes to the fridge, gets some orange juice and then
notices her datebook lying on the couch. "Is anybody there?" Roger comes out
of the wings. He says he was getting the last of his things. She buys it.
He says that he was looking through her datebook and she buys his reason for
that too. She thought that maybe he was coming back to her. No, but he invites
her to dinner. "Tonight?" "Unless you have other plans."

Nick and Fletcher and Mindy:

Nick pushes and pushes. He thinks that they could do it if they had
their own home, their own family. "I don't know, maybe." Nick says that he
still loves her. "Yeah, I love you too." Mindy leaves, and Fletcher tells
Nick about his upcoming date with Holly. "Do you have a death wish?"

Annie at the Lewis house:

Henry tells Annie that he "admires her courage". Henry lambastes Josh.
Annie plays with Shane and admires his artwork. She mistakes Henry for the kid's
grandfather and Henry explains the unique house relationships. Meanwhile, Josh
screams for Vanessa. (In a very rude tone, one should add, which appears to
be the theme of today--that Josh is a rude man.)

Mara jumps on the bed. Josh struggles to get a pair of pants over his
cast. He falls on the floor. Mara giggles. She tells daddy not to "get in a
bad mood". (By the way, Mara, it seems, has gotten about three years older since
two weeks ago.) Josh says he doesn't get in bad moods. "Just like when you
yell at other cars?" Yeah, that's it, not a bad mood, just common sense.
Mara decides to clue Josh in to women. She tells him to be nice to Annie.
Vanessa comes in and has a good laugh. She says she has an idea. She cuts
Josh's pants. He screams at her.

Henry and Annie hear Josh's screams and Henry goes for the sherry.

Lucy and Bridget and Matt:

Lucy wonders why Matt isn't with Vanessa. "It's obvious you are
dying to see her." [Lucy must be perceptive because he looks pretty content
to me.] With his eyes, Matt suggests she change the subject. Lucy starts
reading the personals to the assemblage. She reads of a "Prince Charming
type". Bridget snickers. What kind of a jerk would call himself the "Prince
Charming type"? Matt thinks they all make the same mistake in personals:
overkill. Lucy thinks that it's just intensely competitive. Matt says it
doesn't matter, because "love comes along when you least expect it".

Josh and the rest of crew:

Josh hops down the stairs. He says that they have to run because they
have reservations. As he leaves, he gives the family a final snarl. Outside,
Josh apologizes to Annie. She says she likes the family and it's no problem.
Josh is a little bothered that Annie is driving, and she says that that is
because he needs control. He wonders if she really wants to do this, and she
says that she is sure.

Roger and Holly:

Roger explains that by moving out, he didn't mean to suggest that
he is "closing any doors". It's just that he can't handle the relationship
the way it stands. He thinks that maybe she is still angry. No, she insists
and the phone rings. It's Fletcher, saying that he is free and ready for her
to "exorcise me out of your life". He says he will come over, but Holly insists
that she will meet him. The immensely bright Fletcher doesn't catch on, and
Holly says goodbye. She tells Roger that it was Fletcher and that she has to
go to some interview. Roger wants her to change her plans since it's "just
Fletcher", but no luck.

Fletcher and Nick:

Nick thinks Fletcher is nuts. Fletcher thinks it's not such a big
deal. Oh yeah, Nick says, "he'll just hound you for the rest of your life
instead of killing you outright." Fletcher says he is not afraid, and he
and Holly are "going to put this whole episode to bed". Nick snickers at his
choice of words. He warns Fletcher that Roger is figuring out. He saw him
in the office the other day going through Holly's things. He says that when
it comes to Holly, Roger is a "bloodhound". A letter comes for Nick and he
jumps for joy. "This could change everything," he exults. As a final warning
to Fletcher, he leaves this clever statement: "madmen do crazy things".

Josh and Annie at a restaurant:

Josh says that the place seems "cramped". Annie counters that it has
"atmosphere". The nervousness is palpable. They discuss food, and discover
that they both really love spicy american food--tacos, eggrolls, etc. They
consider running out of the restaurant they are in (an expensive Italian
joint), but they are too late. The hostess gets a kiss from a patron for the
calamari. Then she brings over some bread to Josh and Annie, and Josh orders
white wine. Annie gives him a quick look, and says that she would like a
glass of red. Josh apologizes for assuming she wanted white, and she says
"you assume a lot". Josh says that he is rusty at this dating thing. "Why
would an attractive man like you live like a hermit?" [Because he's a big
jerk? Just guessing, Annie.]

Bridget and Lucy and Matt:

Bridget and Matt give Lucy some terrific, long needed advice. Maybe
she should stop wasting all her time looking for a man, and go about living
her life, doing what she likes. What does she like? She doesn't really have
time for her photography. She does like gardening. They thinks that she should
do what she wants and eventually love will just come her way. Just like with
Bridget and Dylan. They were friends and confidants, and then one day they
just had all these other feelings. That's exactly what Lucy wants, and she
just can't wait for it. Matt says that if she pushes she will "make a mistake,
and how will that be?" Matt leaves, and Lucy finally says what is bothering
her. She is still a virgin and she just wants to get it over with. Bridget
drops her cutlery.

Josh and Annie:

Josh says that he is just too busy for a social life. Annie [who
demonstrates a great deal of tact for a first date, IMO] brings up Reva. She
says that Josh needs to get over her. Josh wonders how she knows about Reva, and
Annie says that Ed told her. Josh just stares. The meals come and Josh gets
a lot of pepper. Annie apologizes and Josh says "let's keep the past in the
past for tonight". Okay. Annie has a new question: "What made you go out
with me?"

"Do you ever ask a question that isn't loaded?"
	"How's your wine?"
	"Fine. How's yours."
	"Fine."

"Okay, I get your point." Josh says that he wanted to thank her for
her kindness and he wanted to get to know her better. She says, that actually,
like him, she is too busy for much of a life. Josh has a hard time believing
that there is no man "waiting in the wings". "No one I care to speak about."
[So, it seems that we have been set up for both Reva and Rick today.]

Holly and Roger:

Roger stays in the house, to get the last of his things, as Holly
leaves. The phone rings, and he picks up. The person on the other end, hangs
up. Roger closes his eyes. "That settles it--it's someone else."

Fletcher in his car:

Holly is late again. She arrives and says that this whole idea is
crazy. Fletcher tells her that Roger is getting suspicious. It was him on
the phone, of course. "He thinks he owns you." "Nobody owns me." Good.
"Let's go drum me out of your life."

Lewis Household:

Henry and Vanessa agree that Josh's dating is a good thing. Maybe he
will get less cranky. Mindy joins the thronging masses. Vanessa feels her pain,
and goes to talk. But just then, Matt calls, and Mindy says "if you're happy,
I'm happy you're happy" and goes upstairs. Matt has tried to call several times,
but the house is so busy. "Too busy to miss me?" "I miss you so much I ache."
The family clatters.

Lucy and Bridget:

Bridget shows her surprise. Lucy says she is starting to feel
embarrassed about it. Bridget admires her. "In this day and age..."
Lucy had always had a romantic image of the first time--she wanted it to
be perfect. But now she just wants it to be over. With Alan-Michael it was
just another fantasy. Bridget says that on the other hand, the first time is
really important, and that she will always remember it [though she doesn't
say that that is necessarily a good thing]. "Is there a Mr. Perfect for
everybody?" Bridget tears up. "I used to." Lucy decides that she is going to
answer a personal. But this time she'll choose a "not Mr. Wonderful" ad.

Josh and Annie:

Things are not going well. [Just watching this scene makes me
uncomfortable.] She asks about work, but he says that it's too boring to
talk about. He asks about her chicken, and she says it's good but it's not
chicken. They got the order wrong, and over Annie's protestations, Josh calls
the waitress over. He tells her they got the order wrong, but Annie says she
likes it just fine. The waitress leaves and Annie is furious. "You ignored
me." "I'll never make another decision for you as long as I live."

Josh thinks that maybe she is blowing this out of proportion. Why is
she so mad. "I'm not mad. All right, I'm mad. This isn't working." She gets
up and stalks out. Josh tells a woman at a nearby table that Annie is his
sister and this happens all the time.

Annie returns. "I forgot I was driving." Josh says he'll take a cab,
but Annie makes a decision for him. "I'd love to take you home. Now, c'mon."
"Talk about stubborn," Josh mumbles.

Roger:

Roger announces to himself: "I'm going to find out who you are one
way or another."

Fletcher and Holly:

Holly asks how far. Just another couple hours. Holly gets angry. She
wants to be let out. She didn't know what he was up to. Fletcher points out
the "long, skinny things on the roof of the car". They're going skiing.
"We'll get there in time for a first run, and by nightfall we'll know if
there is anything between us."

Vanessa and Matt on the phone:

Vanessa sits on the steps. They miss each other. The kids run all over
the place. Vanessa wants to know what Matt's wearing. The family noise
increases. The doorbell rings. Vanessa lets Nick in and gets Mara to call
Mindy. She then goes to a closet and hides. Now, he asks what she is wearing.
She tells him, then complains about the heat in the closet. He tells her to
take off some clothing. [This continues in a thoroughly gross manner and
a good updatter would keep his/her objectivity but I can't. Sorry. It involves
black satin.] Henry comes into the closet and sees his daughter on the floor.
Henry is not in the least surprised. He gets his clothes.

Mindy comes down and wants Nick to get to whatever brought him by.
The adoption agency wrote. They have a baby for them. Mindy has a big smile,
and then it disappears.
