"Stay tuned for CBS News update, followed by Guiding Light."
Nadine: "That's just moments away. Well, I won't go anywhere if you don't."

Two minutes later...

     SPAULDING ENTERPRISES

Lucy walks into Alan-Michael's office and he hopes that she has changed
her mind about working for him. Lucy says she hasn't, but she's found
the perfect temp and will show them around. A-M asks if this girl knows
anything about computers, since he's expecting reports by modem. Lucy
told Nadine she'd be answering the phone and watching people come in.
A-M isn't too thrilled to hear that Nadine is coming, he doesn't think
this is the right job for her. Nadine arrives and Lucy shows her how to
use the phone. (Nadine has trouble reading the list of phone numbers--
she needs her glasses).

     DINER

Frank asks Buzz if Eleni is there-- he spent all night on a job. He goes
upstairs, but she's not there. He finds Mrs. Pappas babysitting and she
tells him that Eleni is out of town. Frank gets mad at Buzz for telling
Eleni to leave for Crete.

     LEWIS HOME

Vanessa welcomes Matt and tells him that Bill went to the police to
confess to starting the fire.

Upstairs Bill is having a nightmare about the night of the fire. He sits
up and his bed is on fire.

Vanessa explains to Matt that Cutter kept Bill's name out of the papers,
because it was an accident and not arson. She's very grateful to Cutter,
and to Matt for coming to the station. She says that if it's anyone's
fault, it's hers for leaving the lantern lit. Matt thinks she should
spend more time with her family and not so much with him.

Bill yells out "Make it stop, make it stop!" so Vanessa runs to comfort him.

     SPAULDING ENTERPRISES

Alexandra comes to see A-M and asks how things are going. (Nadine
announces Alex's arrival on the intercome long after Alex entered A-M
office.) A-M tells Alex about some restructuring of departments. She
thinks it's radical, but it's up to him. Nadine buzzes A-M and asks if
she's talking to Mr. Lawrence (A-M had asked her to place a call to
him).

Nadine can't handle the phone calls, she keeps cutting people off.
Finally she stops answering the phone and decides she needs a break. She
puts her purse on the keyboard & the PC starts talking to her, so she
talks back.

A-M explains to Alex about Lucy, and she wants to hire Lucy for the
Foundation. A-M asks her to wait, he's hoping Lucy will change her
mind. When Alex leaves, Nadine asks her if she knew "this thing talks".
Alex goes back to wish A-M luck (he's going to need it).

     LEWIS HOME

Vanessa asks Bill if he still thinks he started the fire-- it will be
reported as an accident. She is sorry he found out about Matt that way.
He tells her that he wouldn't be happy with her being with anyone but his
Dad. She's proud of him for going to the station. He was scared, but
talked to Billy about it and he told him to do it. He called the prison
& told them it was an emergency, so Billy called him back. They talked
about the fire and Vanessa & Matt. Billy told Bill that Vanessa is a
good mom and deserves to be happy and have someone to love. Billy has
made bad mistakes and Bill shouldn't expect them to get back together
when he gets out of prison.

Vanessa calls Billy at the prison and tells him why she hadn't told Bill
about Matt and thanks him for talking to Bill.

     DINER

More yelling between Frank & Buzz. Frank says he's going to Greece to
get his wife, and leaves.

Frank comes back and asks Stavros if it was really necessary for Eleni to
go to Greece. Frank is worried about what this guy will do to her. She
is suppose to be there only three days. Frank: "What can happen in 3 days?"

The phone rings-- it's Nadine calling Lucy for help.

ON A BOAT (I think). Eleni wakes up with her head on a man's shoulder, and
they tell each other where they are going in Greece.

     CEDARS

Ed tells Lillian about a proposal Nurse Annie made to offer free
immunization to children in Springfield. Lillian said she submitted
several proposals to him, but there was no funding. Ed says that Annie's
proposal came at the right time and there is money now. He praises Annie
for thinking of it. A cheerful Josh comes into have his cast removed and
asks Lillian & Eve where Nurse Dutton is. He wants to thank her for
treating him so kindly while he was in the hospital.

Lillian and Eve wonder if all the men in the hospital have gone "ga-ga"
over Nurse Annie. Eve doesn't think it's her skills as a nurse that's
bringing grown men to their knees-- she's new, young & fresh. They start
feeling old and invisible. Ed and Charles Grant come up and start
talking about Annie. Ed thanks Lillian ("someone older & wiser") for
showing her the ropes. This depresses Lillian even more.

     SPAULDING ENTERPRISES

Nadine is still having trouble with the phone and faxing. Brent Lawrence
shows up in person, since Nadine never did get a call through to him. He
goes in to talk to A-M, but Nadine interupts them to ask A-M how to send
a fax. He explains (very patiently) and he wonders why he hasn't been
getting many phone calls. She goes out and jams the whole package into
the fax machine (including an envelope). Soon she starts screaming-- the
machine is smoking, so Brent offers to fix it. A-M calls Lucy and tells
her that Nadine is not working out, she has to come over. Lucy agrees.

      CEDARS

Josh is having his cast cut off (that was fast-- only 4 weeks).
He's worried about the saw cutting his leg off, but Nurse Annie shows him
that it won't cut skin. He thanks her for letting Marah stay with him in
the hospital and asks if she's enjoying the city. She hasn't seen much
of it-- her life is the hospital.

Eve tells Josh that his leg is healing and they talk about Michelle.
After Eve leaves, Annie wonders if this is the real Josh (the nice one).
He walks on his leg, and asks her out a date-- she agrees.

      SPAULDING ENTERPRISES

Lucy fixes things and Nadine tells her she should stay in a job that she
likes and does so well. A-M tells Nadine to go to personnel and get a
full-day's pay and to take the afternoon off. Lucy thanks him for being
to nice to Nadine. A-M says he likes Nadine-- she used to be his
mother-in-law. Lucy had forgotten. She asks if his good mood is because
his girlfriend is back.

A-M: "What girlfriend?"
Lucy: "Tangie."
A-M: "We're not seeing each other, it's over."
Lucy: "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."

She starts to go to personnel to find someone more qualified and A-M
tells her that "they'll never replace you". He wants her back, it will
be purely platonic, "I won't even think of you as a woman." Lucy:
"Great! Oh, all right." A-M tries to kiss her, but she pulls back and
they shake hands to seal the deal.
