Update for The Guiding Light for Wendesday, Jan. 22, 1997

All of Springfield is at the Ball dancing the night away.
Or at least Reva and Billy and Dinah and Jon-Luc are
both doing the tango and each couple is trying to out
do the other.

All eyes are on these two couples and Josh is watching
Reva show off her stuff while Annie is seething.

Roger and Amanda sneek off together to Alex's bedroom.
They are trying to find some Spaulding papers which
will help them take over the company. Roger gives
Amanda her first lesson in espionage. They search
the room but find nothing. The maid comes in and
they both hide in the closet until she leaves. Roger
even checks under the inside padding of Alex's
shoes for the combination to the safe but comes up
empty handed.

While they are rambling through Alex's room. Alan
gathers, Alex, Phillip, Alan Michael, and Lucy
together to beg them to help him stop Roger. He
wants to them to work together which Phillip
and Alan Michael balk about. Alan asks Phillip
to contact his friend at the agency and find
out all he can about Roger's dealings with the CIA.
He tells Alan Michael to set up surveilance on
both Roger and Amanda. He wants them followed at
all times. He even asks Alan Michael to bug Amanda's
bedroom. Lucy thinks this is absurb and can't
believe Alan wants Alan Michael to spy on his own
sister. Alan Michael and Lucy stand up to leave and
announce that they can't take this any more. Alan
Michael explains he doesn't have the back stabbing
ability that the other Spauldings have and he
always thought Spaulding could be run without rolling
in the mud with pigs. He asks Lucy to dance but
not before he announces the two of them are thinking
of leaving Springfield. Phillip and everyone is
in shock. Alex tells Phillip to go and stop them
and talk some sense into them. Phillip tells her
no that leaving is probably the smartest Alan Michael
will ever do.

Buz watches Reva and is clearly upset at her dancing
with Billy and showing off in her red low-cut dress.
Harley is watching him and has had it that her father
has been hurt.

Harley follows Reva into the bathroom. They throw
out a few people who try to come in and lock the
door. Harley begins giving Reva a piece of her
mind telling her that she has hurt her father and
she won't stand by and watch it any longer. She
sneers at Reva and tells her the whole room was
watching her episode with Billy and she wants Reva
to just go home. Reva is upset because she thought
Harley cared for her. She reminds Harley that
she took care of her children when they thought
she was dead and that she cared for Reva while
she was sick. Harley says that is in the past
and just because she is alive doesn't mean she
can get away with hurting everyone she comes in
contact with. Harley then yells at her for dancing
that way in front of Josh and hurting him just
like Buz. Reva stops her and says she gets it
now. This isn't about your father it's about Josh.
Your still mad because he broke off your wedding
to come after me. Harley admits that she and Josh
were happy and were about to be married when Billy
said he spotted Reva in Europe and then Josh just
takes off to find her. Reva said she should be
happy at least she found the love of her life and
is now happily married. It wouldn't have worked
out with her and Josh any way. They both calm
down a bit and have a long heart to heart. Harley
finally admits she isn't as mad at Reva as she
makes out. Reva tells Harley that Buz is a
wonderful man and it was better to let him go than
to continue living a lie. She says she respects
Buz. Harley feels better about this and tells Reva
that if she loves Josh she should go after him.
Reva told Harley she isn't the same Reva who went
after whatever she wanted. She couldn't break
up a man's marriage with a baby on the way. So
she would just have to leave Josh alone so he and
Annie could work things out. Harley and Reva hug
and make up.

Hart grabs Dinah after watching all the dancing he
possible can and takes her outside. She is furious.
She tells him that he promised to give her lifestyle
a chance. He said he did agree to try but he was
happier when they were together alone. She tells
him he just wants to keep her locked up. He says
no that parties are fine but drinking champagne and
partying 24 hours a day was just too much. Dinah
goes in a rage and yells at Hart and tells him
that she thinks he is as much as a control freak
as his father is. Hart stands there looking at her
in shock.

Michele and Zach are at the lighthouse. He hears an
S.O.S. signal calling for help. He tells Michele they
have to put their personal talk aside and help these
people get to shore. He tells her to call the coast
guard on the radio while he tries to repair the light.
She can't get anything but static on the radio and
he can't get the light to work. He tells Michele to
go and get Rick and get some more help. He is going
out in his boat to find the people and bring them
in himself. She cries and begs him not to go but he
says he has to go. She leaves and finds Rick and is
in hysterics when she finally gets to Rick because
she is worried about Zach being out in the ocean
himself while trying to safe some people's lives.

Alex asks Matt if he will talk about Vanessa after
she gives him the check for the hospital wing
dedication. He says no at first but then agrees.
He and Buz stand together and have a drink while
Matt wonders what you say about the love of your
life leaving you. Buz says he relates well with
Matt but has no idea what to say.

Phillip comes to check on Annie about the same
time Josh excuses himself. Phillip whispers
to Josh in a mean sort of way that what he is
looking for went to the bathroom. Josh retaliates
by saying he was actually going to get his
pregnant wife some water.

Other than that, nothing else happened much yesterday.
Until next......
