Guiding Light Update
  Friday, Jan. 10

We begin our day in SF with a nighttime city view from Jenna's penthouse.
She is sad
and pensive in a beautiful red blouse. The nanny wheels little Cooper in,
all ready to roll.
They go downstairs to the limo as Jenna makes her final preparations. She
wishes she could
have told the baby that Buzz is his father. When the doorbell rings, she
thinks it's the
bellman, but to her surprise, it's Eleni. Jenna is holding Cooper's bunny
behind her back.

Buzz is very upset that Reva is leaving him. She tries to explain that her
feelings for
Josh had never gone away, and every time they see each other they are
rekindled. Buzz
thinks that Josh is saying the same things to Annie right now. He would be
surprised to find
out what's really going on in the Lewis boudoir. Annie is wearing a long
lacy nightgown with
skinny straps (not flattering). Her bony shoulder blades show and it makes
her look
emaciated. Something with a back and maybe a v-neck would be much nicer on
her. She is
doing the seduction thing again, and thinks back to her negative pregnancy
results. Obviously
she wants to make it come true tonight. She talks about the fact that she's
pregnant and how
wonderful she feels. Also, she brings up her addiction just to keep Josh in
line. She lies and
says she's been to a lot of 12 step meetings. Josh wants her to be happy
and healthy. He isn't
showing a lot of resistance considering he is in love with someone else. He
does give us sick
and mournful looks, but isn't tossing Annie out of bed either.

Eleni is visiting in order to convince Jenna to stay and give she and Buzz
a chance.
Jenna tells her that Buzz was here and they talked. He seems happy with
Reva, and Jenna's
memories of SF are different than reality has turned out to be. Eleni isn't
buying it. For
some reason Eleni's minimal Greek accent has disappeared completely today.
They discuss
the lotion business and how Jenna cheated her, Buzz and Nadine's
relationship, and
motherhood. Eleni thinks Jenna and Buzz are right for each other.

Reva tells Buzz that Josh is staying with Annie until the baby is born, but
isn't going
to tell Annie that yet. Buzz wants to know why Reva is telling him about
her feelings now.
Reva can't live with the lies anymore. She's been trying to find reasons to
be around Josh,
and although their children are important, they are also an excuse to be
together. They
discuss how their marriage came about and who loved whom. As Reva becomes more
tearful, Buzz becomes louder and louder. He is justifiably angry though, so
it's not so bad.
Reva says she did love him but he deserves better. This doesn't help Buzz's
demeanor.

Meanwhile back at the Lewis bedroom, Josh is attacking his wife. If Reva
could only
see him now. She is clinging and he looks weak. Once again she brings up
the ghost baby
and he appears to be doomed. Why has Josh never questioned the fact of this
pregnancy after
all her lies? Luckily for all of us, little Shane pops in with a nightmare
(as if this wasn't
enough). They comfort him. His dream involved the two of them not being
there for him.
Annie gives him a little speech about their family always being together.

Buzz feels deceived and isn't convinced that Reva loved him. He knew what was
happening when they married, but when Reva slept with him everything
changed. He
thought they had a real marriage. It doesn't' matter what she says, it
doesn't help. Reva
admits guilt to everything he brings up. She tells him that Josh doesn't
know what they are
talking about right now. Buzz has had enough and storms out.

Eleni wants Jenna to stay in town long enough to be sure that she and Buzz
have said
all they should to each other. The bellman appears for the luggage and
Jenna pushes Eleni
out the door. Jenna says to herself that she should never have come back
and leaves the hotel
room.

Shane is asleep between Josh and Annie. Josh wants to leave him there (good
thinking, Josh) but Annie won't stand for that. Josh carries him back. In
the meantime,
Annie prepares the room for his return; candles, a romantic fire. When Josh
enters, she
drops her nightgown. Josh looks miserable but doesn't run away. It's
unsettling to see the
same person who went through detox with such courage acting in this
self-demeaning way.

At the diner Eleni is slicing the Greek pastry I don't know how to spell
when Buzz
enters. He announces that he is going away for a while, and won't answer
any questions
about Reva or anything else. All she knows is that he's off to the airport,
but this makes her
smile. At the airport, Jenna's flight is delayed.

Annie tries her best, but Josh appears to have sprouted a backbone since
the last
commercial. He jumps up and declares that this isn't right.

Reva is mourning the death of her marriage to Buzz at home. She looks at a
photo of
them in the diner and cries. What will they do with the sign in the window?

Jenna tries to get information from the clerk about her flight, but is
unsuccessful. The
nanny heads off to the john to change baby Coop's nappy. The bunny is in
the luggage
somewhere, or is it? Buzz happens to be in the same room (as Jenna, not the
nanny) and
stumbles over the rabbit. He returns it to the porter and trudges to the
counter. He wants to
go far away and doesn't care where. The diner must be doing some kind of
business for him
to buy this ticket. He opts for the shuttle to O'Hare, where he will pick
up a connecting flight
to anywhere.

Annie thinks that Josh is having a problem with, how shall I say,
elevation, and he
doesn't bother to correct her. She says that all that matters is that they
love each other.

Reva stares at the fire and recalls different things Annie, Buzz, and Josh
have said to
her about her relationship with Josh. She grabs a coat and leaves.

At the airport Buzz is using all his credit cards to purchase his ticket
(thank you GL
for explaining the money). The explanation is tempered by the fact that
there is a goofy
balloon man placed in the room solely to keep Jenna and Buzz from seeing
each other. It's
almost as bad as a potted plant hiding a pregnancy. Anyway, at the last
moment Buzz does
see her and calls her name.

Josh is staring out the window in a trance and Annie begs him to come to
bed. The
woman is persistent. Josh doesn't' move. Reva shows up at their door (not
the bedroom, the
house) and looks at the sign "Josh Annie" "Marah Shane" hanging there. She
touches the
children's names as Josh looks out at her.

Jenna walks out to the plane in the darkness. As she steps up, Buzz runs
forward and
calls "Jenna!" Dig out that old copy of Casablanca now, folks.
