Today in "the city":

A light turns red. The camers pans in a circle over the street.
In Sydney's apartment, Tess introduces herself to Sydney. She
says that Richard was showing her the loft. Is he still here?
No, Tess says. Figures. So, Tess Wilder, Sydney asks, how do
you and Richard come to be alone in her bedroom?

Angie is directing the movers. They're ignoring her. Doesn't
anyone in this city speak English? Jacob, in a bad French
accent asks if she speaks the language of love.

Buck argues about someone picking up his trash. The singer
pops up from the bar.

At the playground in the park. Someone with a lollipop is
bewildered. Someone is telling the kids on the jungle gym
to be careful.

At the loft, Steffi tells Tony she can't believe that
someone is dead so soon. Tony says one good thing, you can
hardly see the blood.

Who are you? Buck asks. A thirsty customer. He'll have a
whiskey and coffee. Buck says there is no coffee. Whiskey
is fine. They're not open, Bick says.

Tess says there is nothing between her and Richard. She'd
never touch another woman's man. Nice trait, Sydney says.
Tess says that she's the new tenant. Tess says that she
couldn't believe that Richard knew her....but then he
produced the lease. So, all those people she met outside
are working for her? Well, Tess says, there is Buck and
Jacob, they have the nightclub, that means drinks and music,
and a party every night. (Sydney is not happy), and Ally
and Steffi, and Danny...Tess offers to make a list. Sydney
says great, then she'll know these people when she meets
them in the elevator. (Tess is not getting the sarcasim.)
Tess offers to leave, so Sydney can rest after her trip.

In their apartment, Ally says Bernardo was right, you can
hardly see the blood. Steffi is upset...she can't believe
that a few minutes ago there was a dead body there. She
thought that they left that behind in Corinth. They came
here for fame and fortune, Ally says. Steffi says she's a
pregnant receptionist, since Tess hired non-pregnant
pregnant models. Tony says that he is going to go get
his PI license. Danny comes in and tells Ally taht she's
late for the photo shoot. She says something came up.
A dead body, Tony says. A woman comes in and Danny introduces
himself. She's looking for the agency. She leaves, and Tony
kids Danny about his way with women.

Tess tells Sydney she really really admires her. She's an
inspiration to women. Tess asks if she can invite her to
lunch to pick her brain on how things are done in NY. Sydney
says she has a better idea. She's having a party tomorrow
night. She wants Tess to come and bring all the people from
the building. Tess says really? She leaves, happy. The
chauffer comes in. Sydney asks if he found Richard. He'll
be here. She wants to talk to her lawyer, she has a job for
him.

Angie and Jacob are talking about the layout of the clinic.
Her living area is part of the clinic. They gravitate to
the bed (the only piece of furniture in the place). Jacob
says that he understands where she is coming from with
Charles, but he says Seize the Day (ed: note: that's Jeremy's
line, I'm surprised that Angie didn't mention that). They
kiss and fall onto the bed. The camera pans to the pile of
letters.

The singer tells Buck the previous owner went out of
business, bankrupt. He gives Buck some cheap advice: Always
treat the paying customers with better respect. Jacob
comes in with a box (ed. note: Wow, that was quick). Wow,
Jacob says, he thought he as dead. Give him a few minutes,
the singer says.

Ally tells Danny to loosen up, he looks like a piece of wood.
She derides him. He says he needs inspiration. She tells him
to show her what he's got. Show her that macho smile, that
look that drives women wild. He's not responding, Or, Ally
laughs, can't he handle taking orders from a woman? He
takes his shirt off, his belt off. He advances on her. She
tells him to stop. She's out of film. She runs out past
Steffi on the phone. Tony comes in with a stuffed animal,
(a monkey) a new body guard, now that he's off the job.

In the park, a girl with an accent is getting 5 dollars.
The lady says now you go to the passport office and get one
before they close. She thanks her and then screams, and
runs over to a little boy who has fallen off the jungle gym.

Steffi says she thought he was going downtown for his PI
license. He was, but he saw this and figured it was great for
Junior. And he bought it, and figured he'd look silly going
for his license. The woman comes back (the one from Ally and
Steffi's apartment). She wants to...Tess comes in, happy
about Sydney's invitation...she looks at the woman and tells
her that this is her lucky day! Tess invites her in to talk.

Jacob tells Buck this is Nick Rivers. Jacob is a big fan.
Nick is uncomfortable.

Sydney tells the chauffer that once he drops off the
invitations, he wants him to find Richard and bring him back
here, NOW. Then off to the lawyers, she wants the papers
ready by the party. Sydney rides the elevator down. The lady
with the kid runs into Sydney getting off the elevator.
Sydney offers to take her to the hospital. No, she's going
to the clinic! There's no clinic, this is my...the lady
runs off. Sydney is *not* happy (or bewildered).
